We still are going to have to beat North Texas and South Florida, neither team being a pushover to beat lol. And with our All-Pro DE Reynolds out right now, it's not going to be an easy task at all. I think we can pull of the North Texas upset, but South Florida has always given us problems. Hopefully we can pull off an upset that week and come out on top. FS Sherrill is making a recovery attempt, but is still a far ways from playing again. OLB Fong is still battling with his elbow, but Coach isn't worried about it much and will let Fong play again this week. OLB Kane fractured his clavicle however, and won't be seeing playing time anytime soon.

In the Top 25, we've moved up to #19! The Top 5 mostly remains the same, USC, LSU, NC State, Alabama, but Iowa beats out Purdue to take #5. No real good matches are happening this week to be on the look out for.

Meanwhile Florida Atlantic arrives at our place this week to take us on, and are boasting in a 3-6 record. We are trying to be careful not to already write them off, as we've seen what happens when you do so. Silva connects with Dunn in the end zone to give us the lead to end the first, 7-3.

The lead quickly changes in the 2nd when FAU scores a TD, giving them a 10-7 lead. DE Fernandez sacks FAU QB in the end zone for a safety, and from the possession we got due to the turn-over, Silva makes a beautiful pass to Sears in the end zone for a touchdown. We officially take the lead to end the half, 16-10.

During halftime, Coach told us we were being distracted and we need to snap out of it. Winning by less than a touchdown is unacceptable. We heard him loud and clear. That was playing like a team, our defense didn't allow them to get into the red zone one single time, we intercepted the ball once, made them fumble twice, limited them to 160 yards total and sacked them twice.

Silva threw 19/34 for 238 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Post-Season Week 18

CB Bradford Jacobs won the Chuck Bednarik and the Jim Thorpe awards! "Bradford routinely frustrated offenses with his athleticism and big-play ability. Teams are still trying to figure out how to handle a player of his ability on the defensive end. He finished the year with 70 total tackles (46 solo), 0 sacks and 26 passes defensed. He managed 11 interceptions for 150 yards and finished with 2 defensive touchdowns as well."

RB Neil Ingram won the Heisman Trophy and the Doak Walker! "Neil was a difference maker on offense and feared by all opposing defensive coordinators this season. He often took games over and leaves a legacy of offensive accomplishments. He ran for 2674 yards on 415 attempts, averaging 6.44 yards per carry. He added 15 touchdowns, with a season long run of 56 yards."

TE Gerald Austin won the John Mackey award. "He caught 45 balls for 682 yards, averaging 15.2 yards per catch. He added 9 touchdowns and had 14 key run blocks."

The New Orleans bowl offered us another chance to go back and we took it, up against Bowling Green! Unfortunately during this game, Hamilton and Reynolds are both still down for the count. And with this being Hamilton's Senior year, it looks like Hamilton will be hanging up his boots to his college career as he graduates at the end of the semester.

Geneva Bible vs. Bowling Green

Crooks started the game hitting two field goals in the first, and being the only scorer in that quarter. After a 87 yard punt return in the 2nd quarter by RB Neil Ingram, Crooks hit another field goal to end the half, 16-0.

That's when the incredible happened. Bowling Green scored a touchdown, and got the 2 point conversion in the 3rd quarter. It was like Dejavu in the 4th, as they had 0:24 seconds left and was able to score another touchdown, and get another 2 point conversion at the last second to tie the game 16-16 and send it into overtime.

During the overtime, Bowling Green got the ball first and elected to receive. They kicked a field goal to bring the score 19-16 and Geneva had to score. Well... we did. Neil Ingram broke free with an 11 yard run to score a TD and promptly end the game with the first bowl game win of Geneva's history in the books and the last bowl game loss forgotten. 22-19 was the final score.

QB Silva went 19/33 for 262 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. QB Ware threw 1/3 for 30 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

RB Ingram ran 30 times for 152 yards, and 1 touchdown. Neil Ingram got the player of the game.

Our Team MVP for 2 years straight now, is Running Back Neil Ingram!

LSU defeated Iowa in the Capital One Bowl, 47-19! LSU's RB Billy Rivera was the MVP.

Boise State was not invited to a Bowl.

For the National Championship: Alabama beat California, 34-16 to clinch the win. Congratulations to Alabama for winning it all this year.

“As he learns to make better cuts, his outside running ability will become pretty decent. Experts feel that he has the hands to develop solid pass catching skills. He'll never be thought of as a track star but his speed should be serviceable. His blocking skills will contribute positively to his overall game.”

Will this be Arizona's repeat time?

Jacksonville vs. Tennessee

After losing to the Ravens in overtime, Tennessee is longing for a chance to play. After a controversial call last year that gave the Ravens the win, everyone has wondered what would have happened if it was Tennessee playing the Chargers instead of the Ravens? Well, Tennessee has a chance to show everyone they are worth it, meanwhile the Jaguars are looking to beat the statistic of being one of only 4 NFL teams left to never reach a Superbowl in the history of football. This will truly be a battle of "whoever wants it more."

NY Jets vs. San Diego

Losing in the Superbowl by 1 point to the Cardinals, has been eating away at the Chargers ever sense last February.

A much better season this past year, going 12-1 (7-0 in conference). We were expected to finish third, with a good showing against Troy.

NFL Draft

The NFL Draft happened this week.

QB Paul Garza went to the draft, but was not drafted.

OLB James Anderson entered the draft and was the 2nd Round Pick for Houston Texans. Anderson signed on with a 4 year deal, for $2,039,275 dollars. We'll keep you updated how he does this season with the Texans.

These graduating Seniors decided against going into the draft (or were not selected):

WR Brian Bass

OT John Cook

OG Ellis Barnett

K Leonard Crooks

ILB Cory Green

TE Rolando Hamilton

OG Winston Hamilton

ILB Gregory Kane

CB Jimmy Locke

DT Michael Mason

SS Edward Reese

FS Alfred Hines

FS Leon Sherrill

ILB Oliver Walton

RB Jamel Wesley

DE Gerald Wheeler

The Schedule

Week 1: South Florida **

Week 2: Akron **

Week 3: at #2 Michigan

Week 4: Troy ***

Week 5: Bye

Week 6: at Florida Atlantic

Week 7: Louisiana-Laf

Week 8: Syracuse

Week 9: at Florida International

Week 10: at Arkansas State

Week 11: Louisiana-Monroe

Week 12: North Texas

Week 13: East Carolina **

Week 14: Open

Week 15: Open

Blank - In Conference Games

* - Out of Conference Games

** - Rivalries

With us losing to South Florida twice, they seem to be Coaches kryptonite. South Florida and Troy are the two main match-up's Coach wants to focus on this season. Akron, Coach says, we need to defeat to maintain our honor. And ECU decided to take us for a home and away game, starting a slight rivalry with them. If it's anything like we did with Toledo the last two seasons, this should be easy wins for us, but up against a team like ECU, there's no telling.

Teams OOC that we have still yet to beat (and it bothers Coach):

South Florida (we've lost to them... twice. Trying this season to beat them.)

Texas Tech (Lost the New Orleans Bowl in 08' to them.)

Navy (Defeated their close friends Army last season.)

Akron (We should not have lost to them in 08'. Trying again this season.)

Meanwhile with OLB James Anderson and the Houston Texans:

Houston had gone through all 4 of their pre-season games just in time for us to prepare for our first.

In the first preseason game, Houston played Cleveland and lost 33-13.

However in this game, Anderson led the pack on Defense with 13 tackles (1 for a loss). He also got Defensive POG (Player of the Game).

During the second preseason game, Houston lost to Dallas, 21-17. Anderson on defense had 8 tackles, 1 for a loss.

In preseason week 3: Houston lost to Oakland, 24-19. Anderson led this game again with 11 tackles.

In the final preseason game, Houston defeated Jacksonville 30-24. Anderson had 8 tackles and 3 pass deflections!

After all four games, LB James Anderson definitely impressed the coaching staff, leading in 3 of the 4 games on defense and getting 1 defensive play of the game award. However they weren't impressed enough to start him this year.

Week 1

Week 1: South Florida

Week 2: Akron **

Week 3: at #2 Michigan

Week 4: Troy ***

Week 5: Bye

Week 6: at Florida Atlantic

Week 7: Louisiana-Laf

Week 8: Syracuse

Week 9: at Florida International

Week 10: at Arkansas State

Week 11: Louisiana-Monroe

Week 12: North Texas

Week 13: East Carolina **

Week 14: Open

Week 15: Open

Blank - In Conference Games

* - Out of Conference Games

** - Rivalries

On the Award Watch list for the season, Givens was already up for the Davey O'Brien award. N Ingram was in consideration for the Doak Walker and Mosi Tatupu award. TE Austin was up for the John Mackey award. OLB Fong and ILB Miller are up for the Dick Butkus award. FS Jackson and CB Jacobs are up for the Jim Thorpe award. P Robinson is up for the Ray Guy award. Geneva is not even mentioned in the Top 25 at all, with any votes.

South Florida came to our home this season, and we had everything firmly planting on this game, and we weren't plannin on losing it. With our brand new quarterback, Given's first game of the season, this is definitely a game Givens has to prove himself in. A lot of people have question Coach Demarco's choice of sitting out the starter of last season to give Givens a chance at arguably the biggest game of their season, but Coach Demarco had this to say:

"We trust every player on our team equally, and it's very simple logic really. We are only as strong as the weakest among us. He (Givens) is not a weak QB by any means, and we plan on proving that to you as much as he does on Saturday."

South Florida at Geneva Bible

During our first possession, Givens shows some good signs as he pushes the ball up the field. We got stopped however at South Florida's 23. So in comes Buffington for a 38 yard field goal. The Coach and everyone holds their breath, and it's good! We stop South Florida on their first possession, making them go 5 and out (stupid penalties) and we get the ball after a great South Florida punt. Givens is back on the field and pushes the ball up, connecting with some great passes as well as Ingram getting some good runs through the hole. Givens connects with Sears for 13 yards and a touchdown, bringing our lead up to 10-0. USF's next drive scores them a field goal, while ours is reciprocated by Ingram running the ball in for another touchdown to end the 1st quarter, 17-3.

It was looking great for us, as RB Ingram catches a pass from Givens in the endzone in the 2nd to put us up by 3 touchdowns. USF pushed hard and got a final touchdown before the end of the half. Getting the ball at the half, USF pushes down the field with fire under their belt, that is until they get picked off by CB Jacobs! With the momentum under our belt, RB Ingram scores again with an 11 yard run. USF gets the ball, only on the second pass to throw yet another interception to CB Jacobs! That's his second of the night! Buffington hits a 20 yarder to end the 3rd.

In the 4th quarter, our defense stops USF and we push up the field. WR Dunn catches the pass from Givens in the end zone for Given's 3rd passing touchdown. USF kicks in a field goal, and we match them with one of our own from Buffington. USF has one final chance to score, but it results in a 3rd interception, made by the same guy! CB Jacobs! That's 3 interceptions for the game! We won, 44-13 in impressive fashion!

J. Givens went 33/38, for 417 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Silva was put in for a couple plays, and went 1/2 for 55 yards.

Ingram ran the ball 30 times for 197 yards for two touchdowns.

CB Jacobs is the real story of the game here, with 5 hard tackles, 1 stuff, 3 interceptions, and 3 pass deflections! This guy is a monster!

People might have questioned Coach Demarco before the game, but after, Coach let his players do the talking on the field. What a triumph for Coach. However, they don't have long to celebrate since they have to travel to Akron next week to take on another team they haven't beat.

Houston's first game of the regular season is next week as well. Akron responded with a touchdown of their own. At the start of the second quarter, it was 7-7 and remained so until halftime with both defenses stopping each other from scoring.

At the half, Coach Demarco reminded everyone that this is the exact way we played last time we met, and Akron snuck away with the win. We can't let that happen again. Coming out of the half, Neil Ingram caught a pass and ran it 69 yards from Givens for a touchdown. Then Givens connected with WR Sears for 64 yards the very next play, for another touchdown. Akron scored as well to bring the lead 21-14. In the fourth, Neil Ingram caught a 12 yard pas from Givens to bring it 28-14. Akron kicked a field goal, to make it 28-17, and with 0:14 seconds left Akron scored another touchdown and got the 2 point conversion. However, Coach wanted us to have a chance to play a top 5 team, with an amazing defense and offense to show us the caliber that we can play ourselves. Going into this game, we had no idea what to expect and all we knew for sure that we would have coming for us, were nerves.

Geneva Bible at #2 Michigan

During the first quarter, we knocked in a field goal and Michigan returned a kickoff for a touchdown. 7-3 Michigan. In the second, we both hit a field goal off of each other, and then Michigan scored with a touchdown to end the half, 17-6.

During the second half, Givens connected with Sears in the end zone for 6, but the 2 point conversion failed. Michigan took advantage, and scored putting 7 more points on the board. Two touchdowns off the bat during the 4th quarter, put Michigan ahead 38-12. We scored one more time with RB Ingram catching a pass from Silva, then Michigan finished the game out with a field goal. Final score was 41-19.

We played good solid ball, no interceptions, no fumbles, no turn-overs at all on our part. We just couldn't capitalize on third down situations against a defense like Michigan's.

Givens threw 13/22 with 186 yards and a touchdown, while Silva threw 4/7 for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Ingram ran 28 times for 140 yards.

FB's Butcher and Chen both ran 5 for 63 and 2 for 14 respectively.

Overall, today they were just the better team. RB Ingram is a team leader and a force in the locker room, one that would be deeply missed if he was not dressing out. Luckily right before game day, Ingram was cleared for play and was able to get our last practice in with us and be ready for game time. The question is, how well will he be able to play? Week 14: Open

Week 15: Open

Blank - In Conference Games

* - Out of Conference Games

** - Rivalries

Coming to Arkansas State, TE Austin after his first touchdown catch last week will be sitting for most of the playing time due to a light injury, letting Freshman A. Collins do most of the work this game. FS J. Bridges will be sitting out due to an eye injury, and Mayberry will be taking his place for this game.

(7-1) Geneva Bible at (1-7) Arkansas State

Buffington booted a 49 yard field goal to break the 0-0 score and to start the game. Arkansas responded with a field goal of their own and Givens found Chen in the end zone to end the 1st quarter, 10-3. In the second, RB Ingram ran on two different possessions, TD's in response to another field goal from Arkansas State.

After the half, a 32 yard fumble return by CB Bradford Jacobs is returned for a touchdown. In the 4th quarter, Buffington boots a 29 yarder in for 3, and again RB Ingram runs on two different possessions, two different touchdowns in. One a 64 yarder, and one a 25 yard run. Arkansas tries for their own touchdown, but it isn't enough to really challenge the score. 48-13 is the final score.

QB J. Givens threw 15/23 for 199 yds and 1 TD. Silva was in for 2 passes, and 1 of them was interception.

RB Ingram ran 32 times for 240 yds, and 4 TD's. This game was all him, again.

Meanwhile DT Robert Johnson is making great progress with his back. It could be as few as 3-4 weeks now before he's back in business. FS Mayberry who was in for FS Bridges, wound up getting a ligament tear in his ankle and is out indefinitely for at least a couple of weeks.

This week LSU is finishing up their bye week.

Boise State beat Louisiana Tech, to bring them to their third win of the season!

He said he would let us know more when he got more information. When he returned, he was more focused on our challenge right in front of us, and told us we should be too. After all, North Texas would be no push-over this year.

We didn't know exactly what type of challenge they would provide, until we found out the terrible news from the docs. TE Austin was not approved to play yet, but to add to the list, DT Reynolds and DT Thompson are all off the availability list this week, ILB Miller is out, and both of our Free Safeties, Mayberry, Bridges, and unfortunately now Jackson are out of commission this week too. With our best TE out, our offense took somewhat of a hit, but with our entire defensive squad out, it would make even the most confident coach bite his nails.

(7-3) North Texas at (9-1) Geneva Bible

We knew if we wanted to win this game, we'd have to hit hard and quick with our offense to stay ahead. We also had to control the ball time of possession, to avoid our defense being out there for too long and being exposed. What we didn't expect to do, was a 61 yard interception return by CB B. Jacobs to start off the game. Or our second string TE A. Collins, to catch and run a 58 yard pass into the end zone from James Givens to bring us to an early 14-0 lead. In the second, Givens found WR Dunn in the end zone for another 7, and Buffington knocked a 29 yard field goal in to bring the score 24-0.

Going into halftime, Coach assured us the game wasn't over until the clocked reach 0:00. So we played accordingly. Coming out from the half, RB Ingram ran a touchdown in, and then next possession caught a TD thrown from QB F. Silva to bring us up to 38-0 to start the fourth. North Texas scored their first, and only touchdown of the game while RB Ingram ran for another touchdown, and Givens found WR Dunn for 40 yards into the end zone again. Buffington finished the game off with a 39 yarder, to end the game 55-7.

QB J. Givens threw 18/24 for 294 yds, 3 TD's and 1 interception. Silva was in for 5 passes (5/5) this time, and 1 of them was a touchdown.

RB Ingram ran 33 times for 238 yds, and 2 TD's.

CB B. Jacobs ran back this time an interception return for a touchdown, had 5 tackles, 1 stuff, 4 amazing interceptions, and 2 pass deflections.

FS L. Jackson wanted to play really bad, but Coach wouldn't put him in this week. No med clear, no game clear is his policy. Also, of Florida, Michigan, and Virginia Tech, all three remain undefeated and take spots #1,2, and 3 respectively on the Media Poll. #4 and 5 bounce around but are currently held by Colorado and Oklahoma.

LSU is now ranked #20, and defended that ranking by defeated Arkansas this week. Also, with the news that they are up for awards, the award contestants battled it out to get some good stats this week!

(5-4) East Carolina at (10-1) Geneva Bible

During the first quarter, RB Ingram hit back to back touchdowns on runs to bring us to a 14-0 lead early on. Our offense showed no signs of slowing down in the second, as Ingram ran for his third touchdown of the day. QB Givens connected with WR Dunn and WR Bautista for two back to back touchdowns of his own, going into the half with the lead 35-0. That's Bautista's first touchdown of the year.

After halftime, RB Ingram ran for his fourth, yes fourth touchdown. Buffington kicked a 35 yard field goal, before ECU finally got points on the board with a touchdown of their own. RB Ingram wasn't done yet however, running his 5th touchdown of the game in for another touchdown creating a new personal best record in touchdowns for him. In the 4th, ECU finalized another touchdown in the end zone, before Buffington connected with two back to back field goals to end the game, 58-14.

QB J. He added 19 touchdowns, with a season long run of 64 yards.

Also for National First Team: RB Ingram, FB Chen, CB Jacobs all made it, with Jacobs getting Defensive POY and Ingram getting Offensive POY awards, two years in a row.

We also finished in the Top 25 rankings! We were ranked #21. With Florida finally losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, that pushed them to #3 which means #1 Michigan will be playing #2 Virginia Tech, two undefeated teams going at it, during the Fiesta Bowl. Only one team will emerge victorious and will be able to be called, our National Champion.

We got an invitation again just like Coach expected to go to the New Orleans Bowl! As Coach broke the news, we all got excited and wild up ready for whoever we take on! In fact we were so excited we almost forgot to ask who we were facing, but when the question was posed and Coach got serious, everybody chilled down real fast. Coach told us we were facing an old rival, one who beat us, and one who we wanted to face since they have... Navy.

(11-1) Geneva Bible at (6-5) Navy

Revenge is what we wanted, and revenge is most certainly what we were going to get. To start things off, QB Givens connected with WR Dunn for a TD in the end zone to give us the early lead. RB Ingram remembered the game very much as well, inspired to run in his touchdown to end the 1st. During the 2nd quarter, Navy booted a field goal in to put points on the board, but then RB Ingram ran back a 77 yard Punt Return for a touchdown to bring us up in the half, 21-3.

After halftime, the third quarter was scoreless. In the 4th however, Givens connected with Dunn again for another 7, and then Buffington kicked a field goal to end scoring for Geneva. Navy somehow landed a touchdown with 0:35 seconds left on the clock, to end the game 31-10. We once again, won the New Orleans Bowl.

QB Givens threw 16/32 for 214 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

RB Ingram ran 28 times for 122 yards, and 1 touchdown.

Givens showed obvious favor to WR Dunn, who caught 3 catches for 50 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Dunn has 11 touchdowns this season, more than his other two combined.

FS Jackson fresh off his injury and rearing to go, had 9 tackles, 3 stuffs, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 2 pass deflections. He played like an all star, while CB Jacobs had just 1 tackle and 2 pass deflections.

Michigan defeated Virginia Tech in the National Championship.
