BREAKING NEWS!: New Head Booker for SWF

In what has come to a huge shock within the Wrestling industry, the SWF officially announced in a press release that Peter Michaels, who has been the senior play-by-play man and head booker for the World's Biggest Wrestling promotion for 15 and 3 years respectively, officially resigned as head booker. In the press release, it was announced that he was not leaving the booking team, but due to heart problems being seen as a potential threat to his well being, the stress of the head booking position was affecting his well-being. His recent success, including the Man Under Pressure storyline which got mainstream media attention, means that this loss will not be taken lightly by shareholders.

However, good news is coming, the person who has replaced Michaels has been revealed, it was expected that the new head booker would be Jack Swanson, Michaels' second in command in creative, but it was actually an acclaimed television writer, Jack West. West has written on several big TV Shows, including the Rick Ford Files, Crime Lab and most famously The Young and the Fearless in Mexico, which he won several awards for his work. Irvine is said to be a huge wrestling fan, and on his
Downtime Profile
, he lists Champagne Lover, Angry Gilmore, Wolf Hawkins, Marc DuBois and Lobster Warrior as his favorite grapplers.

It is thought that West will bring about big changes in the SWF, and has already been working behind the scenes for several months, some believe as far back as December '09. He is also understood to be the person who convinced Champagne Lover to sign with the company -
after refusing a high profile offer last year
- because of his Political views. He is also thought to be the man who pushed for the creation of the new purity of purpose tag team and their subsequent title victory last month at WHFO.

New SWF Booker has big plans: World Domination, and more of his changes

Okay, maybe not World Domination in the common sense of the phrase, but
ratings domination
. It is understood that recently announced head booker Jack West wants to work on a global expansion for the SWF. He has altered the live events schedule, adding 40 new international dates this year, as opposed to the usual 20, bringing the total to 60 international dates including Canada. The SWF 2 Part Global Tour is a big new initiative for the SWF, and West isn't stopping there, he wants to hold more international TV Shows too! It is not unusual for the SWF to air from Canada, it does so 5-10 times a year, but West wants to expand further, and air from the UK at least twice a year. He feels that SWF has never done enough to reach the international markets, and this needs to be changed.

Among this, he has also made several changes to RIPW, the development territory for SWF. There has been a huge shuffle around, with West ordering no less than four RIPW shows to take place a month. He has hired a whopping

twenty new superstars for RIPW, and fired seven. His pet projects in RIPW are rumoured to be Jay Chord, Gino Montero and Swoop McCarthy, who are all being groomed to become faces of the SWF. Gino is an obvious attempt to break into the international markets he is desperate to enter.

He has also made big alterations to the main roster talent's schedules. He has reduced the number of live events a week to four, the lowest it has been in over 17 years. The main roster will perform Mondays, Tuesdays (On STV), Wednesdays and Thursdays (Apart from PPV Weeks), Fridays will be dedicated to gym or ring work, to fine tune skills. Wrestlers will get the weekends off, which West felt was essential to their well being and lengthening careers.

Emma Chase no longer managing Brandon James, replacement announced

A fan posted on the SqauredCircleJerk forum that Emma Chase had been removed as NA Champion Brandon James' manager of the SWF Superstars Page, and had instead been moved to Marat Khoklov's. Emma posted a video on DownTime in character, and announced that James' was still under the Chase umbrella, but would now be being handled by her new colleague Emily White (Formerly known as Queen Emily.) She announced she has gotten new responsibilities, as the manager of Marat Khoklov and as the advocate for the SWF Board of Directors and Richard Eisen. She will apparently announce her new position at the next show.

Reason behind Shock Title change on Total Wrestling this week

Viewers were shocked that Joshua Taylor was defending his International Title two weeks in a row, let alone what happened next. On Total Wrestling on Tuesday, in the penultimate match, the fans were left stunned when Eddie Peak ended Joshua Taylor's Six month long international title reign. The feeling was that whilst Taylor is talented and well liked in the locker room, he simply wasn't over enough to warrant a six month title reign. Joel Bryant was supposedly his advocate backstage, and had him win the title after coming to the company two months earlier. Cornell had been against it since the get-go, and when he saw that viewers tuned out for his title defense last week ago on TV, he ordered he drop the title the very next week. Eddie Peak was recommended by Cornell to Joel as one of three candidates to restore prestige to the title after it's recent rough patch. The TCW Owner is apparently still a fan of Taylor and his work ethic, but feels he needs to be built slowly over time to ensure he reaches his maximum potential.

This week, Supreme TV was pretty good. Among other things, we saw Jack Bruce get screwed, as Emma Chase, who is now 'Advocate' for Richard Eisen, announced that Jack Bruce will not be getting a rematch post being screwed at When Hell Freezes Over, at Nothing To Lose, he and five other men will do battle for the number one contendership. Emma decided to have a ten man battle royal consisting of people who have not held the world title, including Rich Money. In the Main Event, Rich Money and Enforcer Roberts were the last two men, Money got a chair shot from Eisen to be eliminated, before Lobster Warrior revealed he was not really eliminated and won the match. </span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

Also on the show, Antonio Maxi Marquez (Champagne Lover) had his first hype video, looks like he will be being introduced as a face. Christian Faith was absent because of his loss to Khoklov at WHFO, being kayfabe injured, and Marc DuBois defeated Steve Frehley, and will be a participant in the 6 man match at NTL. Emma Chase told her former client Brandon James that he will be defending his title in a three way at Nothing To Lose, against Joe Sexy and the next person to beat James in singles competition. Finally, after a convincing tag team win, the Bumfholes were surprisingly attacked by Runaway Train.</span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

Meanwhile on TCW Total Wrestling, there were no real major angles this week, just a few interviews scattered through the show. However, Edd Stone successfully defended his All Action Title this week, against Aaron Andrews. Joey Minnesota defeated Tommy Cornell in a fantastic match in the sub-main event, and the show was headlined by a pretty average match in Rocky Golden besting Troy Tornado. But many people are questioning why Rocky is still TCW Champion, and the feeling is that he may be leaving when his contract expires.</span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"> </span></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';">

SWF Held a pretty packed show this week. We saw Giedroyc and Valiant defeated Purity of Purpose for tag title shots at Nothing To Lose. Gregory Black beat F.A.G, to earn a match against Brandon James next week, potentially getting himself a title match at NTL. Runaway Train once again attacked the Bumfholes, Antonio Maxi Marquez was further hyped for his debut, and Jack Bruce helped Lobster Warrior in his quest for a world title.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

However, the main event saw Rich Money defeated Remo in a revenge match for WHFO, to enter the six man main event at Nothing To Lose. This brought out the 'advocate' Emma Chase, who announced that the six men will be facing off in a brand new match type: the extermination chamber. Two men will start off in the ring, with the other four locked in pods on the outside. At timed intervals each man will enter the match one by one until only one man is left standing. The entrants are as follows: Jack Bruce, Marc DuBois, Remo, Rich Money, Steve Frehley and Vengance. Entrants No1 and 2 will be Bruce and Money. </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Finally after those men had left, Emma brough out Marat Khoklov, and they demanded Christian Faith show his face. Chase told us that Faith Vs. Khoklov has been announced for NTL, but he will no-show, because he is badly hurt. Faith didn't show up, and as a result, Khoklov grabbed a fan out of the front row and attacked him instead. (Fan was actually Jay Chord from RIPW.)</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The real point of the TCW go home show for their PPV this week was to build Tommy Cornell, ahead of the Rocky Golden match for the title later this week, and to have Aaron Andrews defeated Edd Stone for the All Action title. This was mainly done to start a feud between the two, as it was announced later that show that a rematch was scheduled for Malice In Wonderland.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

These shows were both better than last week, with both getting a B from me, but it must be noted TCW was slightly better this week. But with SWF still pulling ahead in the ratings, TCW will need to step their game up even more.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Jack Bruce/Christian Faith Vs. Tommy Cornell/Wolf Hawkins talks fallen through</strong></div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As reported on this site three weeks ago, there were talks of potentially the biggest tag team match ever taking place. Richard Eisen and Tommy Cornell, despite being bitter enemies, both saw the money making potential in this match. However, the two men could not see eye to eye on other details, such as who's show this would take place on, with a cross promotional event even being considered at one point. Eisen broke the deal down when he demanded a 65% cut of the revenue from said event, claiming SWF would bring in most of the buys. Cornell wouldn't agree to this submission so talks broke down, hopefully we will be seeing SWF Vs. TCW one day soon.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>News and Rumours in Wrestling</strong></div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Interestingly, Jumbo Jackson and T-Rex managed to steal the Tag Titles on the latest episode of USPW American Wrestling from the 'people's team.' The feeling is that Sam Strong feels like Des Davis is a Next Big Thing, and wants to develop him as a singles star.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Despite being a small promotion, MAW is always worth covering because of it's abundance of future stars. The prestigious Rip Chord invitational was won this week by Findlay O'Farraday, who defeated last years winner Cameron Vessey, in the finals. </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Apparently, as part of Jack West's initiative to expand internationally, he is considering holding the September 'Under Control' Pay-Per-View in Canada, and changing it's name to SWF CanadiaMania.</div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

There is a lot of talk that West has disappointed himself by debuting Maxi Marquez as a face. Antonio said that is how he feels most comfortable, at least for his first few months. West wants to turn him heel as soon as possible, with talks of shooting him up the card in a match against Jack Bruce at the Supreme Challenge, if he is not otherwise engaged. </div></div><p><span style="font-family:'Franklin Gothic Medium';"></span></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">
