RTE 3022 When Saving Mid-Week!

I was trying to recreate a RTE 55 "File Already Open" error that I had been getting in week 15 and when it didn't pop up the next time I closed the game by hitting the "X" at the top right corner as it was simming the week still. It asked me if I wanted to save, and I hit "Yes" (didn't really want to, but did just by habit). It saved the game and closed. Now when I try to reopen the game and sim week 15 again it shows that 2 games have already been simmed and then the Error 3022 dialog box "changes you requested to the table not successful because they would create a duplicate value.....". Once I hit OK to this the game closes. So now I am stuck. :confused: Me thinks it is trying to sim the two games that had already been run prior to the save and can't. If this is the case, it might be a good idea to do something to prevent someone from doing this as well in the future?? I'd be glad to send you my save game file if it would be of assistance...

You can't quit while the game is simming games. You can load your .old file and should be able to pick up where you left off.

Thanks for the info on how to get my season back. That's good new indeed! Arlie may want to put in a preventative measure to make it so you can't actually quit games while the game is simming games as you say, because, as it is right now, you can quit games as it is simming games...only it breaks the game. It shouldn't, at the very least, give you an option to save the game at that point. It might be better for a dialogue box to pop up and say something like "You can't quit the game while the game is simming you wanker!"... or something similar to that ;)

Actually...just tried to restore my game using the .old file. When loaded it takes me back to week 14, which is good. But when I try to sim week, I get the RTE 3022 message still. Anything else I can try? I hate to lose my career..

Open the save folder's stats.dat file in MS Access (or with the freeware OpenOffice). Once there, open the WeekStats table (e.g. "Week15Stats") for the week where you are stuck, do a select all, and delete the entire contents of that table. Then reopen and try simming the week. The result isn't perfect -- teams that had already been simmed will be resimmed and BOTH results counted towards their record. But, I've always been able to progress forward past this point.
