Roger Kaputnik
I just got RTE 91 "object variable or with block variable not set" in week 7. I have played the game for weeks without ever having a crash or error like this up to now. The only thing I have changed that is I used Icy's mod. Guest [Icy]
Week 7 of the first season? or after a few seasons?
Roger Kaputnik
The first season. I have now played out two full seasons on this build. I saved after every action so of course the bug did not show up. Judging from my experience and that of some others who have posted about RTE 91, it seems to me this bug hits you when you are doing well and not saving. I was 6-0 at the time of my crash. Roger Kaputnik
I don’t think the problem is with the actual .exe file. The problem may be with one of the mods that you added to the file. It seems like somewhere the game is looking for a piece of data that isn’t there. Somebody could have slipped and typed a blank space in the data when typing it in. Guest [Icy]
I'm back at home and my computer simmed 10 season in the mean time, not any crash and all the data seems ok. I don't see how it could be related to the mod.
Roger Kaputnik
[QUOTE='[Icy]']I'm back at home and my computer simmed 10 season in the mean time, not any crash and all the data seems ok. I don't see how it could be related to the mod.[/QUOTE] First: I ran into the problem simming out each week individually, not doing 10 seasons at a time. So your test is not the same as what I have experienced. Second: My computer is 3 months old. I have never had a crash in hundreds of hours of playing the game. I got a crash within 20 minutes of using that mod. Third: All of the others who have had this error had installed one or more of the mods included in your file. Fourth: Your BBCF Real College Pack autoinstaller was uploaded on 29 December. All of the RTE 91 posts in the support forum date from after that. Why were there no RTE 91 errors before your file was uploaded? Fifth: Look at the error itself, "object variable or with block variable not set." That means that the game is looking for data and not finding it. Where does the game look for said data? The database files. What does your mod alter? You guessed it, the database files. Somewhere in one of those altered files is a hole that needs to be filled. It could be something as simple as a name or number that is missing. Guest [Icy]
Hey, i'm not part of GDS, my mod is something i did helped by others in my free time to enhance other people gamming experience. This mod is not offered by GDS or included in BBCF, I did it all for free, i don't owe you anything, you're free to use the mod or not etc etc etc. So calm down, reading your last post i feel like that you're acusing me for something and i'm not a developer or paid on any way so remember that before complaining and don't be as demanding, you can always edit yourself the database and create your own mod. About that everybody having RTE 91 are also using the mod, well i can tell you that at least 99% of BBCF purchasers are using it as most preffer a real life database, and only a few are having the RTE. Of course all them not having that problem are not posting about it. Everybody is using the mod so of course it's something common betwen those who have crashes, but i bet 99% of the guys with RTE are also sitting in a char while playing it, and it doesn't mean the chair is the cause of their RTEs. Now the possible solution, have those with problems to play without the mod a lot of seasons and then tell if they have the problem or not. But right now i'm clueless about the possible problem as i have not experienced it, nor have a lot of BBCF users. Of course if Arles, me, you or anybody find the cause of the RTEs and it's related on any way to the mod, i'll fix it but right now i don't know what else to say. Roger Kaputnik
You are the one who needs to chill, Icy. I am not criticizing you or accusing you of anything so don’t get your panties in a bunch. I’m trying to find out what is wrong so that it can be fixed. I wrote that list to show you that I am not jumping to conclusions. I actually put some though into this process. Not to pin the blame on Icy. I am thankful for the mod. I want the mod to be useful to people but if it causes crashes it is not useful. I just want to get to the bottom of the problem. Denying that there is a problem or that it could possibly be in your mod is not helping anything. As I said before, it is probably a small typo that is causing this. It should be no big deal to fix. Finding it will the thing that takes the most time. Once it is found it is a 2 second fix.
Kelly J Delaney
Well, there is one thing that you all can try. Start a new season, sans any mod. Go team by team and edit what you can. Play See if errors persist. Icy, I have simmed multiple seasons using your mods, and the only issue that I have is that BC kind of stinks. But that is more my problem, not yours. :D
