WWF 1998 (Aftermath of Montreal)

Recommended Posts

Background

Though I have the Heartland Wrestling Association dynasty, I will be taking a slight break from that dynasty and do this one instead. I will still being updating you guys on the dynasty but I will be getting into this a little more to start up. I figured though HWA is getting views it might be better for you guys to get to my booking with a company and a roster, more people are familiar with, rather then a company I built from the ground up.

So I figure also that since it's WWF 1998, I don't really have to give to much background because most people know enough about this time period. I will say that I am starting in January 1998 with all the game made stories. My avatar is Vince McMahon as I am both the Owner & Booker of the WWF.

I will be giving updates during the year about the current status of the Monday Night Wars and were each company currently sits. Also I will give monthly updates on different Indy companies like ECW. Hope you jump on this ride on with me as we journey through one of the Greatest Eras in the history of Pro-Wrestling.

Monday Night RAW

Pre-Show: Flash Funk vs Prince Albert

Shawn Michaels open the show in the ring to a course of boos from the audience, as he begins to speak “For those of you who may have been living under a rock for the last few months my name is Shawn Michaels and I am the WWF World Champion and the man who ran a certain Canadian out of the WWF. I am the best this company has and this title proves it, they should just name this title after me because I will never lose this title from around my waist. As soon as HBK finishes his sentence the sound of Glass breaking echoes throughout the arena. (Only means one thing)

Steve Austin begins to make his way to the ring as he grabs a microphone he says to Shawn “So you’re the best the company has to offer well son get ready because “Stone Cold” is ready to take that title from you and there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it. It doesn’t matter where and it doesn’t matter when you better look over your shoulder because when the Texas Rattlesnake wants something he doesn’t ask for it he just takes it. That’s the bottom line because Stone Cold said so.”

Recon vs Bart Gunn

Gunn is a tag team specialist who is trying to make it by himself as a singles competitor. Tonight Bart starts future in the WWF.

Disciples of Apocalypse vs Los Boricuas Draw

This is a feud between three different stable that has gone on since the summer of last year and is still going strong. Some experts say the feud should be coming to an end but the future still looks strong for these 3 stables.

Paul Bearer with Kane comes to the ring and grabs a mic he begins to speak “UNDERTAKER he yells, you have shown to all your leaches of the night that you are afraid of your brother Kane. I remember when I managed you Undertaker you were the most feared man in the WWF but now you’re a shell of who you used to be. All you have to do Undertaker is fight your brother, if not for yourself how about for your leaches of the night.

Steve Blackman vs Marc Mero

two members of the strong WWF mid-card, two decent talents in the ring look to show what they bring to the table in the WWF.

Vader vs Chainsaw Charlie

Chainsaw’s career is slowly winding down as he is looking for his out plan from the wrestling business. So it’s only fitting that “Chainsaw” puts over some of the top talents on his way out.

Vince McMahon walks out to the ring, with a microphone and says “Earlier tonight all of you heard Steve Austin claim he will be the next World Champion. Well I for one don’t want that to happen because I just think that Steve Austin is championship material. Therefore tonight we will have a #1 Contender Match and the winner will face Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble. “World’s Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock will face Triple H.

Tag Team Championship Match:

© New Age Outlaws vs Headbangers

Over the course of the last few years the Outlaws have become the top tag team in WWF and the Tag Titles prove that now they look to prove why they are the best. The Headbangers are one of the top upcoming Tag teams in the WWF right now.

Backstage: The Rock is being interviewed and is asked the question “Why did you want this interview time?” The Rock says “That is the stupidest question The Rock has ever heard, The Rock will keep this short and sweet. The Rock says he is the Greatest Intercontinental Champion that ever lived and so The Rock is issuing an Open Challenge to anyone in the back, and since The Rock is feeling generous he will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line.

Intercontinental Title Match:

© The Rock vs Jeff Jarrett

Two of the more talented wrestlers in the WWF many think that The Rock hasn’t reach his peak yet and those same think Jarrett has over reached his peak and won’t go any higher up the card. The Rock retains the gold.

Backstage: A camera is in the bowls of the building and that is where we find The Undertaker who obviously has something to say “Paul Bearer, you do a lot of talking but now it is time for you to listen to me and keep your mouth shut. I am still the man I was when you were in my corner but there are something’s even the most ruthless man won’t do like fight his family. I made a promise to our parents that no matter what happened I will not fight my brother no matter how much damage he causes. Kane I will not fight you."

#1 Contender Match for the WWF Title at Royal Rumble

Ken Shamrock vs Triple H

Both highly talented young stars in the WWF and both have yet reach their peak potential as it pertains to their standing in the WWF. Shamrock looks to be taking on the tall order of facing HBK at Royal Rumble.

Post Match: Shawn Michaels hits the ring to attack Shamrock after a hard fought match this leads Triple H to help his buddy attacking the #1 contender. DX continues to put the boots to Ken and to add icing on the cake Triple H hits the Pedigree on Shamrock as Michaels stands over Ken and taunts him while holding the WWF Championship.

Bonus:

Which Match ended in a Draw? DOA vs Los Boricuas

Which title match happens from an Open Challenge? IC Title

<p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> Retirement News </span></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Though it may not be surprising to many, but WWF Legend "Classy" Freddie Blassie has decided to call it career and walk away from the business. Over the course of his very lengthy career Freddie has competed all over the world and has become one of the hated "heels" in the history of Wrestling. After his days in ring were over he became one of the most hated managers in WWF history. Some of his clients were Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and a young Hulk Hogan just to name a few. </p><p> </p><p>

Though in many respects in might be a good time for Freddie to walk away from the business his presence in the WWF locker room, and in the company will be missed. We here at the WWF would like to wish "Classy" Freddie Blassie a Happy & Healthy future outside of Pro-Wrestling. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

In a parting message The Classy One had this to say to all of you "Though I might be walking away from wrestling, I still want all of you Pencil Neck Geeks to pay attention to this great dynasty or I will send Iron Sheik and Nikolai after you."</p>

Short results like this aren't a bad thing at all, and actually they play into this timeframe quite well as the matches were less of a big deal than what was going on around them.

Pre-Show: Flash Funk vs Taka Michinoku

Flash was able to get funky on Albert, but Taka has things to do.

D'Lo Brown vs Al Snow

D'Lo is just higher on the food chain.

DOA vs Road Warriors

People say "push this one", "push that one", well DEpush the DOA. At least the Harrissesseess.

Royal Rumble Qualifier:

Goldust vs Steve Blackman

I don't know if you're running with TAFKA Goldust or not, but I'm assuming so, and he should typically always be pushed somewhat in this time.

Ahmend Johnson vs Kane

Royal Rumble Qualifier

Jeff Jarrett vs Kama Mustafa

D-Generation X vs Owen Hart & Ken Shamrock

Ken should get a win over DX just to show that he can, before the Rumble.

YES.

Monday Night Raw

Pre-Show: Flash Funk vs Taka Michinoku

DX ambushes Ken Shamrock backstage, but then Owen Hart runs in with a chair to help Shamrock fight off DX. However, DX gets away before Owen can get his hands on him. Owen helps Ken back to his feet and they go off backstage.

D’Lo Brown vs Al Snow

This is just a test of the undercard for me to see what two undercard talents are somewhat capable of producing.

DOA vs Road Warriors

the depth of the Tag division is being flexed here as four big bulls are colliding in this match and it promises to be a knockdown, drag-out brawl!!!!

Royal Rumble Qualifier:

Goldust vs Steve Blackman

The winner moves into the 1998 Royal Rumble which will give one of them a shot at the WWF World Champion at Wrestlemania.

Main Event is announced: D-Generation X vs Owen Hart & Ken Shamrock

The Rock is being interviewed and he is asked about his win last week he says "The Rock says this nobody in the WWF past, present, or future can measure up to the changes The Rock has brought to this championship. My win last week just proves again why I am the Greatest Intercontinental Champion of All time. I will prove again to anyone in the WWF including any of the idiots that never believed in The Rock that sit in the audience or watch at home."

Ahmed Johnson vs Kane

Kane has dragged down everyone that has been put in his path thus far and it seems Ahmed Johnson might just be another victim.

Paul Bearer with Kane continue to try and taunt The Undertaker into fighting Kane. Paul says "Undertaker your not proud of were you came from, and you tried to escape your past, and that include pretending you don't have a brother. But Undertaker you caused this, you caused your brother coming for revenge on you here in the WWE, and there is only way to get the throne out of your side. That way is to fight your brother, I will give you one week to answer Undertaker or you will regret it because nobody knows you better then me."

Backstage: Owen Hart is seen walking down a hallway; he knocks on a locker room door. We soon find out its Ken Shamrock’s Locker Room. Owen tells Ken “I know not that long ago we both wanted to rip each other’s head off but I willing to put that behind us if you are.” Ken looks at Owen and says “You got yourself a deal let’s kick some DX ass.” (Both men share a grin)

Royal Rumble Qualifying Match:

Kama Mustafa vs Jeff Jarrett

Jeff is looking to redeem himself after a tough loss last week to The Rock. Can Double J start back on the winning track?

Steve Austin will make an Appearance Next Week’s on RAW

Backstage: Mankind is shown talking with the make-up lady backstage as from out of nowhere the New Age Outlaws attack Mankind. Both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn put the boots to Mick and Road Dogg ends up slamming Mankind through a backstage table.

D-Generation X vs Owen Hart & Ken Shamrock

Last week Ken ended up on his back will this end better for the #1 Contender.

Post Match: DX get out of harm’s way and start heading back up the stage so quick they leave Shawn’s title behind allowing Shamrock to pick it up much to the dismay of Shawn Michaels. The last image the people see is, Ken Shamrock is shown posing with the WWF World Title as the Show goes off the air. Next week is the Go Home Show for the Royal Rumble….
