Reboot your cpu and then as its rebooting it'll give you an option to enter the setup menu F2, F12 something around there it varies on the cpu.

Once you're in the setup menu go to the boot sequence and make sure your HDD is first in the boot sequence.

Since it sounds like you just started having this problem there is a good chance that your hard drive is corrupt. Are you using a different computer to post on here? Without more information thats about the best I can give you.

Soy Desktop I've used to play TEW on has given me a "reboot and insert boot media device"

The desktop is older running Vista if I'm correct. Also from the mof to early 2000s. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Yeah, not the best message you can get. Aside from making sure your HDD is first in the boot order(which it should be) you can check to see if a USB stick got inserted somehow and is trying to boot. It's possible a cable came loose inside the PC as well.

More than likely your computer is going to require major repairs as your hard drive doesn't just get out of sequence. Maybe as others have said a cable got unhooked or a usb drive got plugged in and took priority in the sequence but most of the time the hard drive is fried or atleast in my experience. You might have more problems than that.

Okay, that's bad. Your HDD isn't being seen in the BIOS so it is most likely toast. Nothing really to do other than disconnect, reconnect and try again. I wouldn't expect anything, though.

OK. I'm hoping to buy a laptop in the next month. Sadly this means I'm going to lose 2 mktnhs of progress I had on this comp on my community creations game. Awesome...

You could always try taking the computer (or at least the HDD) to a data recovery specialist. Best Buy's Geek Squad offers that service, if you can't find a standalone service provider. Even if the hard drive has crashed (or been reformatted), the data on it is still recoverable in many cases. Sometimes it's just a matter of extracting the platter(s) and putting them in a new drive. Learned this recently after a client took her soon to be ex-husband's computer to find his secret stash before filing for divorce. He had reformatted the drive and then crashed it and they still got the records off of it.
