Garethw87
So I LOVE ewr 4.2! I was playing it just before work! However I've always been sceptical about TEW because of the fictional names. I have just been reviewing the MODs and there are some very interesting ones that sound alot of fun to play! My question: If I LOVE ewr 4.2 will I enjoy this game? Simple as that. And if somebody can answer before I get home, even better!! A side question if anybody can help too.. Did TEW 2013 or WMMA 3 come first? I like MMA and WMMA 3 sounds interesting BUT after reading the features it seems you can do A LOT MORE with TEW 2013? Thanks for any help!! Iceisle
Can't answer the first question because I never played EWR, but WMMA3 was released a good while before TEW2013. I wasn't here for the release, but it looks like that was in 2010. WMMA4 is coming out in a few months. EDIT: That said, if you love MMA and have 35 (or however many) dollars to spare knowing that WMMA4 will be here so soon, I certainly wouldn't advise against buying WMMA3. It's my favorite game. If you only have the money to buy one of the two, I'd go with TEW2013 and wait for WMMA4.
Jaysin
You can download the demo for free, but TEW is a thousand times more in depth than EWR.
BrokenCycle
You can check out TEW 2005 for free, too.

I've spent all night at work watching Youtube, reading through the MODs, stories, posts for both and I still can't decide I'm in the UK so the games work out cheaper but I don't really have enough to buy both, and by the sounds on it one will kill enough time! I think testing the demo will be the best option, although I personally hate using demos I appreciate the replies guys, and right on time for me coming home from work! When I make my choice I'll update!

Yeah, I understand. For what it's worth, you're absolutely right, either one is WAY more than enough to take up your time. WMMA3 is my favorite only because I love MMA so much and don't watch wrestling anymore (I also played it first), but that tells you how awesome TEW2013 is because I'm still obsessed with it. Taking my personal bias for MMA out of the equation, TEW2013 is the better game in my opinion. More immersive gameplay, a more interesting game world (if you play the default data), and a significantly more active community, which makes a big difference for games with that kind of modding capability. You have a bunch of options for databases if real world mods interest you (and even if they didn't, you'd still have some very cool mods like the Thunderverse, Diablo X, 9000-verse, etc.), lots of graphics like logos, worker pictures and new skins, and plenty of active dynasty threads. The WMMA forums are quiet by comparison, though that might change when WMMA4 is released. There are still a few people releasing good stuff for WMMA3 like the C-Verse Expanded mod, but there are just a lot more who only play TEW. I noticed the demo and the free version yeah! I think testing the demo will be the best option, although I personally hate using demos Demos usually frustrate me too, but they do it right with these games. You have access to all of the features (Except you might not be able to use mods. That was the case with WMMA3, but I don't know if it's also true for TEW2013) so you can get a good feel for how the game plays. The 'demo' part is that there's a limit on how many days you can advance in each savegame, but I believe it's at least one month, so that's enough time to run several shows in TEW. Nobby_McDonald
Definitely and there will be at least one mod that will suit your taste.

This post sums it up. After playing around earlier today I found that TEW 2013 is much more immersive and seems a lot more going on/things to be doing each day on the game. So I'm going to go with TEW 2013 but I will be watching WMMA 4 closely as I can't get enough of OneFC at the minute! Thanks a lot for all the comments! Garethw87
OK, after a busy week, Ive just bought the game now! I've installed a current day MOD just to get my self into the game and look around. Quick questions... Is it better to start as booker or owner? I'm guessing booker? Take other company or start unemployed? Quick would be more interesting? I really can't decide!
Iceisle
Playing the booker means you'll have to stay on the owner's good side or risk being fired. Depending on the owner's preferences (determined by the Business section in their profile) they might limit how much you can offer during contract negotiations, and they can even renew contracts on their own for people they like if you don't do it yourself, so in some cases you can end up stuck with someone you hate. They might also stop you from changing the product settings or forming alliances. I'm sure there are other limitations, but I usually play as the owner so I don't know what they might be. Also, if you have Owner Goals turned on, they'll give you a list of tasks and rules that have to be completed by (or followed until) specific dates. It might be rules about the kind of workers you can hire or re-sign during that time (minimum skill levels, age limits, banning certain styles or people who have been in trouble with the law, etc.), demands that you push certain people to a specific momentum or popularity level, or goals to improve or maintain the company. There are a lot of possibilities like that. It's an optional feature, but it can provide a fun challenge. Fail a goal and it will hurt your approval rating, and I believe the owner's patience (in their profile) determines how much it hurts you and/or how much they're willing to put up with. If that approval rating gets low enough, you're out on your ass. Playing the owner is the same as playing the booker, except you can do whatever you want with the company and no one can fire you. There really aren't any drawbacks to it as far as I can tell, so it's a good call if you don't feel like dealing with the additional challenges and limitations. As for whether to start with an existing company or begin unemployed, it's really just personal preference. If you start unemployed without the reputation level (which you set when you select your avatar) to start your own company, you'll have to apply for an open position in an existing company. If there aren't any openings when the game begins, you might be in for a long wait. You can start a new company with the right reputation level (I think it needs to be at least High), or create one in the pre-game editor and take it over when you start the game like you would with any other company. Thanks! I think playing as booker could be a fun challenge then. I see you can start your own company eventually as well, that's a nice feature. I had a quick test as TNA and one of the goals was 'can never not make a profit' HARSH! I seem to have an issue, now whenever I load a MOD there are now users to select? Should I just make one in the editor or reinstall the whole MOD? I've never really used MODs on any game ever!
Iceisle
I'm not sure what you mean. You're saying there aren't any workers listed as potential avatars when you start a game? If not, all you have to do is switch to 'Regular' instead of 'User' above that list box. That will let you select any active worker in the database as your avatar. If they're already employed with someone and you start with a different promotion (or start as unemployed), they'll automatically leave their original promotion. It was my stupid mistake I'd edited the user avatar but put his debut date after the start date....
