Held from the Omni Center, in front of 17,000 WWF Fans

As WWF Superstar's opening intro comes to a close, we are immediately in the backstage interview area with the World Wrestling Federation Champion, "Macho Man" Randy Savage! After taking in the mixed reaction from the crowd, Savage begins to speak about his big tag team match later tonight, against Ricky Steamboat, and his King of the Ring opponent, the Ultimate Warrior.

Randy Savage: Steamboat, Warrior, if you think that the beatin' I gave ya last week was anything bad, lemme' tell you: It's going to be even worse this week, ooh yeah, because I will have my eyes on you at all times, until the last moment when me and Mr. Perfect get the one, two, three count! And at King of the Ring, all by myself, the "Macho Man" is going to retain his title and beat the Warrior once again! Deep inside of him, Warrior knows he can't beat me, but I know I can beat him! Ooh yeah!

 

 

[With the crowd booing the cocky antics of the World Wrestling Federation champion, two men are already in the ring for our opening match of the evening: Bret "The Hitman" Hart taking on Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. With the crowd firmly in the corner of Hart, the match begins as the bell rings.]

Bret "the Hitman" Hart vs Greg Valentine

 

 

Starting off this match between the two experienced ring generals, the two men exchanged holds, until Bret was able to get the upper hand with his quickness, just taking down Valentine. For several minutes, it then went back and forth, both men having the momentum shift in their favor, until Bret Hart was able to lock in the Sharpshooter on Valentine, earning the submission victory of the veteran.

 

Winner: Bret "The Hitman" Hart

Grade: 70/C+

 

 

As the former WWF Tag Team Champion celebrates his victory over Greg Valentine, we go backstage to the interviewing area with "Mean" Gene Okerlund, who says he has a very important guest on this episode of WWF Superstars.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, international superstar, the self proclaimed "World's Most Dangerous Man" Stan Hansen!

Stan Hansen: Well lemme tell you something "Mean" Gene... I'm not here to play games, you know, they say the World Wrestling Federation is where the big boys play.. Well let me tell you something, I'm not here to to play.. And at the King of the Ring, Hulk Hogan is going to learn what I'm all about.. Pain, destruction, I'm here to kick ass! And what Hulk Hogan learns, it definitely won't be forgotten anytime soon after the beating I give him in less than a month! Because all the vitamins, all the beets, they won't save Hulk Hogan or Hulkamania from anything, it'll only prolong the beating. Hulk Hogan is just going to be another victim of the Lariat at the King of the Ring.

 

Gene Okerlund: Well be that as it may ladies and gentlemen, we will have an undoubtable answer at the King of the Ring in 4 weeks! And with that, we go back to ringside for our next match: Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs Brian Knobbs!

Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs Brian Knobbs

In a fairly easy contest for the veteran Jake Roberts, he was able to take control early on, just pounding on Knobbs. After several minutes of action, with little offense from Brian Knobbs, Roberts was able to get the three count following a big DDT, much to the crowd's delight.

 

Winner: Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Grade: 81/B

 

As Jake Roberts celebrates with Damien, he suddenly gets attacked from behind by his King of the Ring opponent Rick "The Model" Martel as manager Bobby Heenan looks on in obvious pleasure. After a minute of stomping from Martel, he finally ended the beating as he applied the Quebec Crab to Roberts, having to be separated by several backstage officials and referees as we go to commercial for our next match: Hulk Hogan vs "Ravishing" Rick Rude.

Rick Rude vs Hulk Hogan

In an open contest between these two powerhouses, Hulk Hogan was able to get the advantage early as he took advantage of Rude's cockiness, just blasting him with an Axe Bomber. As the match continued, Rude showed he was able to hang with Hogan, as he nearly got a three count on the multi time World Wrestling Federation champion following a Rude Awakening. After several minutes of action, Hogan was able to get the win over Rick Rude following his trademark Leg Drop.

 

Winner: Hulk Hogan

Grade: 84/B+

 

Following his win against Rude, Hulk Hogan celebrates with the WWF fans, showing his "24 inch pythons" as the crowd goes absolutely berserk for the American Icon. After WWF Superstars returns from its commercial break, it will be time for our huge tag team main event as champions and former champions team up! Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect will take on the duo of the Ultimate Warrior and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat!

Mr. Perfect and Randy Savage vs the Ultimate Warrior and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

With Mr. Perfect and Ricky Steamboat starting off our main event, it was a great show of technical wrestling, as the two men exchanged holds and grapples with plenty of deep arm drags from "The Dragon." As the match continued on, Savage and Perfect showed their intelligence and ring knowledge to wear down Ricky Steamboat with quick tags and double team maneuvers. In a desperation maneuver, Steamboat managed to hit a dropkick on both Perfect and Savage at the same time, before finally making the tag on the Ultimate Warrior. With the crowd going wild, Warrior came in with a head of steam, just hitting clothesline after clothesline on his opponents as Steamboat hit a series of maneuvers as well. With the referee telling off Steamboat however, Perfect managed to sneak behind the Ultimate Warrior with a low blow, before hitting a Perfect Plex for the three count on the former WWF Champion.

Winners: Randy Savage and Mr. Perfect

Grade: 96/A+

 

Overall Grade: 91/A

Earlier today in the May edition of the WWF magazine, the official King of the Ring tournament bracket was announced. Also with this announcement, it has been confirmed that the winner of the 16 man tournament will get a WWF Title shot at Summerslam in August.
