Colby
Hey, decided to start a game using Brother Grimm as my user character (authority figure), owning and booking GSW. Kept the roster as is and have moved to Small level only to fall back to Local before my next event. This has happened three times now in six full game months played, with six events held, one per month. Has anyone else ever had an issue where they kept tumbling to Local? I could only assume it's A) from the lack of "over" workers on my roster or B) Not running a show quick enough after the jump? Could the latter help? Even though it's not very realistic I could easily just run another show to keep my momentum and popularity up to sustain. Either way if it's one of the two I could easily sign more people as well, it's just weird you don't get a message or a reason why you've dropped a size (as I didn't put on a poor show which I have seen in past games) Trying to see how far I can take this company with hardcore, cult, and risque, key features; and a relatively short talent base to start. Been having fun despite the issue in growth, originally just wanted to keep trying an assume it would end but thought I'd ask everyone here as I continue trying. Luchador Canadiense
The reason is you are based in the Southwest. Once you hit Small, you are thrown into Regional Battles... which means you are competing with CZCW, IPW and quite often AAA, who are looking to expand into the Southwest region. I'm guessing based on the overall grade for your events, you are likely finishing fourth in your Regional Battle, thus costing you some popularity and punting you back down to Local. Colby
Interesting, that definitely makes sense as I have been finishing in last place in the battles (though I noticed last time it moved from 3-4 promotions so one must have moved up and out of the battle.) So it seems I just have to keep toughing it out and trying to raise my show ratings until finally it doesn't drop me back to local without me having a chance to even run a show? I'll always jump up after a successful string of events, then drop before I can even make it to the next month, or event.
Iceisle
Might be worth putting a cap on your company size. I don't know how much the drop even matters (if at all) when you're the owner, though. Obviously you won't be fired over it.

Just until he can improve his company/worker popularity and get better show grades so he doesn't get dropped back down so soon. He doesn't have an owner to please, but I'm guessing it still hurts his prestige and momentum.

He hasn't had time to run a show before getting knocked back down to local, so I figured the attendance would be the same either way. Didn't think about sponsor money, though. I guess that might be improved even if he doesn't spend a full month at Small. I never keep track of that stuff, admittedly.
Irish Wolf
If yo have the money, one month run a few extra events. The extra pop will keep you from falling when you lose the regional battle.
KnowYourEnemy
GSW's product requires you book high risk, hardcore matches. The best way to win the regional battles is to push heavily workers with (liberal) attitudes and put them in Ultimate Deathmatch, Light Tube or Inferno Matches.

Mobstar (usually), Fro Sure and Hard-1 are plus performers, who should get you a D+ barring negative chemistry, and will work Deathmatches. CZCW's Jake Idol is fairly inexpensive and a plus performer who you can slot into the main event.

Magwitch, Gravedigga, Mexico's Finest, and (probably) E-Z are workers you can use in a pinch who'll work very high risk matches. I've had Magwitch show up as a next big thing, if you can salvage his entertainment skills he's usable.

Two more tips: 1) get yourself a good road agent, you can improve upon Roper, 75+ Psych. It's worth the extra investment and Roper isn't coming cheap anyway.

2) Use Crazy Bumps, most guys will take them (Fro Sure is one of them) and they can get you the extra one or two points.

3) If all else fails, use the match creator to get a "Hardcore" match with High Injury/High Content Risk, and put your conservative workers (Deaf Touch) in that match.

Unless IPW signs Steven Parker (which can happen), you should be golden, and win regional battles more often than not.

If this is followed you shouldn't have a problem surviving the regional battles.

I had a game with Magwitch getting an absolutely fantastic roll eventually becoming one of the better brawlers in the US. He starts the game as a jerk though so you can imagine what time and fame did to his attitude. Once i got rich enough to sign better talent I dropped him but he was an integral part of my company hitting cult.
de knegt
A quick note about those crazy bumps. They'll bump up your match score, but I would reserve them for the main event only. Especially seeing that the ME makes up 70% of your final score.

No need to risk injuries in every match, and just risk injuries in the important match... Because you don't want to end up with a roster filled with cripples.
