HWF - Hitman Wrestling Federation

Recommended Posts

After the 1997 Montreol Screwjob, Bret Hart decided that he was no longer going to allow another promoter to screw him again and he felt the need to create his own wrestling company, thus walking out on his WCW, for a variety of reasons including mainly the desire to take revenge on Vince McMahon and his company by becoming the number one promotion in America.

Just as Bret did during his reign as WWF Champion, Bret knows very well that the Canadian style of wrestling will not work in America so he will have to conform to a more American style of product if he has any chance of reaching his goal.

The Hitman Wrestling Federation was formed and in Febuary of 1998, Bret secured a television show on VH1 on Friday's late night starting in March. The Monday Night Wars are raging onward on Mondays, with WCW taking a major leads against WWF. Bret hopes to start improving his company so he can eventually take on whichever company comes out on top in the Monday Night Wars.

During the next two months, it was reported that Bret signed a complete roster to written deals consisting of old and up and coming stars. The complete roster was leaked Friday, Week 1, in March, the same day as their TV show, "HWF - The TV Show" debuts on VH1. The complete roster is listed below:
