Tterrag
Sorry if this is something that's come up before, I ran a search and nothing relevant showed up. So I'm taking over a database mod a friend of mine (Blake Trask in fact) was working on for TEW 2010, so I need to convert it over to '13. The problem is that even though I've put the file in the Databases folder in /GDS/TEW2013, it's not showing up as selectable in the converter. Neither of us know what's up, but I get the feeling I did something wrong; is there anyone here who could help out with solving this? Edit: I did find these instructions: 1) Place said TEW 2010 Database in the TEW 2013 Database file 2) Open TEW 2013, create a new Mod with a similar name as the 2010 Data. 3) Hit the conversion bottom, then click on the TEW 2010 Database from step 1. 4) The database you just created will be no good, BUT NOW the original database from TEW 2010 can be run in TEW 2013. However, when I tried these steps they didn't work, and in fact when I tried to create a database using the name of the unconverted database, I was told it already existed. Which it doesn't. Adam Ryland
when I tried to create a database using the name of the unconverted database, I was told it already existed. Which it doesn't. A seemingly 'invisible' folder is the classic sign that you were not in admin mode at some point. It also sounds like you may have forgotten to remove the TEW2013 database from the folder prior to trying to convert it. (This is mentioned in the text at the top of the converter.) Tterrag
The database I am attempting to convert doesn't have a TEW2013.mdb file in it. I'll try to run the game in admin mode and edit this post if something changes. Edit: I ran the game in admin mode and experienced the same result. Jaysin
In admin mode, create a new database. Close TEW2013 Go to that database's folder and delete the TEW2013.mdb file. Copy and paste the TEW2010 files into that folder. Go to the converter and it'll be there. And never, ever run the game outside of Admin mode. It should always be played in Admin mode. Tterrag
Up to deleting the .mdb, that works. Then when I've pasted the 2010 files in, the database is unselectable again. I am in admin mode.
Adam Ryland
The database I am attempting to convert doesn't have a TEW2013.mdb file in it. There should be a TEW2013.mdb file automatically in the database you just created. If there isn't, either you're looking in the wrong folder or you're not in admin mode. You should be removing it and putting the TEW2010 files in its place. Then when I've pasted the 2010 files in, the database is unselectable again. What do you mean by again? I thought the issue was that it wasn't coming up at all?

Oh, to clarify: It still doesn't show up in the converter, with "again" I mean it goes back to the database not even existing/being selectable. You aren't missing any or anything?
Adam Ryland
There is no issue with it no longer appearing in the database selection screen - you've deleted TEW2013.mdb, which is the database, so it's absolutely correct that it's no longer appearing. The only reasons something won't appear in the converter is: - One or more of the TEW2010 files are missing - The wrong files are present (i.e. save game rather than an actual database) - Incorrect use of admin mode - TEW2013.mdb being present in the folder Given that you've already confirmed that you weren't in admin mode to begin with, I'm pretty sure that's your issue. Again, you only have to be outside of admin mode once to mess your files up and cause major issues, simply then going into admin mode does not necessarily fix the problems caused. I would recommend that you reinstall the game and make sure that you set it to always be in admin mode (see the FAQ if you do not know how to do this), then complete the conversion steps from scratch - preferably using a different database name, as I'm pretty sure your issue is that you've created a non-admin version of that folder. Tterrag
Are you sure you are pasting all over the 2010 files? You aren't missing any or anything? Every file I was sent got pasted over. There's nothing missing I'm pretty sure, though I can start making screenshots and put 'em on Imgur so you can see how I'm going about this. I'm going to try reinstalling to see if that changes anything. Here are some screens of the 2010 files, having tried reinstalling and doing it all again in admin mode. (Just out of curiosity, while I'm doing this, I'm on Windows 8; does that affect anything?)
