WWE Monday Night Raw

November, Week 1

In The Ring

http://i.imgur.com/qLeYKbz.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/TfeAUXe.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/0fV0UO1.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IQtTyJN.jpg

To kick off Raw, The Authority, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, come out to the ring. They try to get some cheap pops with the crowd, but it gets them nowhere, as the crowd is clearly against the Authority. They eventually introduce the WWE Champion Randy Orton, who comes to the ring to boos. The Authority praises Randy Orton and comments that they’ve finally got rid of that B+ Player Daniel Bryan. But, Survivor Series is coming up, so it’s time to declare a new contender. Stephanie announces that tonight they will hold a 20 man Battle Royal to crown a new contender.

This sets off the music of The Big Show, who comes to the ramp with a microphone in his hand. Show says he was looking over the participants in the Battle Royal, and noticed that he wasn’t on the list. Stephanie says that’s true, because frankly, Big Show doesn’t deserve a spot in the match. Show comments that he’s done everything that the Authority has asked, he’s knocked out Daniel Bryan, and he’s even knocked out Dusty Rhodes. He admits that despite the bad blood between the Authority and he, he knows that he deserves to be in the Battle Royal. Steph looks like she’s going to deny Big Show, but Triple H accepts his proposal, and wishes him luck with confident, but foreboding, smirk.

Before we cut to commercial, we see Divas Champion AJ Lee skipping towards gorilla, with the Menacing Tamina behind her. They team up next!

Grade: 42

Backstage:

http://i.imgur.com/L4MVjud.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/4pzg7RW.jpg

Backstage, we see Damien Sandow yelling at a backstage worker, calling him an imbecile over some minor accident that upset “The Intellectual Savior of the Masses”. R-Truth stands up for the worker, but Sandow tells him that it would be smart if he stay out of his way, before leaving after telling R-Truth “You’re Welcome”.

Grade: 69

Match 1:

AJ Lee’s battle with the Total Divas continued tonight in a Diva Tag Team match against the Funkadactyls, Naomi and Cameron. A simple Divas match, as Naomi gets some decent action, but AJ uses the ropes for leverage to pin Cameron in 5:58.

Grade: 50

Notes: The Funkadactyls were off their game, but AJ looked good.

Backstage:

Joey Styles is backstage and introduces his guests at this time, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Punk and Bryan both go over their complaints to the Authority, before stating that they have each other’s backs in the Battle Royal tonight. But, before they can finish the interview, they are interrupted by the Real Americans, and their manager Zeb Coulter. Coulter runs down the pair, before issuing a challenge to them. Punk and Bryan agree and the match is set: The Real Americans vs CM Punk and Daniel Bryan!

We get split screen footage of Fandango and Dolph Ziggler walking backstage towards the ring. The Arrogant Dancer and The Show Off do battle next!

Grade: 70

Match 2:

http://i.imgur.com/wOlI4rE.jpgVShttp://i.imgur.com/E1tJ90Q.jpg

“The Show Off” has been rising in the ranks throughout 2013 since cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and winning the World Heavyweight Championship, but Fandango has been doing quite well in the midcard as well. In this simple back and forth match, Ziggler catches Fandango with a Zig Zag in 7:34.

Grade:60

Notes: The match suffered from a lack of psychology.

In the Ring:

http://i.imgur.com/DjTxYFr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dW6D2Cp.jpg

The former World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio comes to the ring with a microphone in his hand. ADR reflects on his loss to John Cena, calling Cena a politician and questioning why Cena instantly got a title shot after returning from injury. He challenges Cena to put his title on the line against him this Friday on Smackdown!

Cena comes down to the ring to a sizeable reaction. Cena makes a few jokes of a ADR’s accusations, stating that he worked hard to come back from injury and worked hard throughout his time in the WWE to get where he is today. He accepts Alberto’s challenge and says he’ll see him this friday to close the segment.

Grade: 79

In the Ring:

http://i.imgur.com/GJ1dbNG.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/kDTCvE5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/x9HBwgS.jpg

The Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel and his manager, Paul Heyman, head to the ring. Axel is very arrogant tonight, much to the chagrin of his unimpressed manager. Paul tries to talk to Axel out of it, but he challenges anyone in the back to match right now. He’ll even put his Intercontinental Championship on the line!

This brings out “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry and the Match is on!

Grade: 65

Match 3:

http://i.imgur.com/GJ1dbNG.jpgVShttp://i.imgur.com/x9HBwgS.jpg

Curtis Axel is clearly overpowered throughout this match with Mark Henry, only getting offense through cheap tactics. Henry controls most of the match, but looks close to winning the Intercontinental Championship. However, Axel rolls out of the ring and heads up the ramp. Henry wins via countout at 6:39, but doesn’t walk out with the ultimate prize, the Intercontinental Championship.

Grade: 56

Notes: Paul Heyman helped Axel throughout the match

Backstage:

http://i.imgur.com/x9HBwgS.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/GJ1dbNG.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xV5Ty2Z.jpg

We come back from commercial to see Ryback and Curtis Axel beating down Mark Henry! Axel was clearly embarrassed by Henry in the ring, and appears to have gotten his revenge thanks to his fellow Paul Heyman Guy, Ryback.

Grade: 61

Match 4:

http://i.imgur.com/L4MVjud.jpgVShttp://i.imgur.com/vbZYJO3.jpg

The holder of the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank Briefcase Damien Sandow faces off against Kofi Kingston. Kofi is not easy to mess with, but Damien Sandow keeps him grounded and controls most of the match. However, when Sandow looks to finish the match off, R-Truth runs to ringside and distracts him, allowing Kofi to hit the Trouble in Paradise for the victory in 7:53.

Grade: 61

Notes: The lack of psychology hurt the match.

Backstage:

http://i.imgur.com/qLeYKbz.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/TfeAUXe.jpg

We see various wrestlers getting ready for the Battle Royal later tonight, as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon appear. They say they’re here to wish all of the wrestlers luck tonight, and, almost in passing, mention that whoever eliminates the Big Show will certainly gain the favor of the Authority.

Grade: 77

Match 5:

http://i.imgur.com/QEdrwl9.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/FJ8xOeR.jpgVShttp://i.imgur.com/5p4ISYM.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uz5nbKs.jpg

In the match of the night, “The Beard and The Best” team up against the Real Americans. A solid matchup sees a lot of cool offense from Bryan, Punk, and Cesaro. After receiving the hot tag, Bryan looks to knock out Jack Swagger with the Knee, but he is decked by a huge spear… From Roman Reigns! The match is over at 12:16.

Grade: 77

Notes: Daniel Bryan and Punk have great chemistry, and Zeb did good work at ringside.

Post Match:

http://i.imgur.com/QEdrwl9.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/FJ8xOeR.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/rjH2Vuv.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/uR5aDk0.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/bFC2nR1.jpg

In the ring, Punk and Bryan are demolished by the Shield. They both receive Triple Powerbombs and are left lying in the ring.

Grade: 60

Backstage:

http://i.imgur.com/eAEnMqO.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IQtTyJN.jpg

Joey Styles is with Big Show, who states that he understands he has a target on his back tonight. But he says no one is more hungry to get his hands on the Authority and take the title from Randy Orton. He heads to the ring as the Main Event is Next!

Grade: 76

Main Event:

http://i.imgur.com/5p4ISYM.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/E1tJ90Q.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/xV5Ty2Z.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IQtTyJN.jpg

To start the match off, everyone aimed to eliminate the Big Show, but they quickly diverge into different brawls, as it becomes every man for himself. Big Show makes them pay for that, as he eliminates the most participants from the match. The Final Four are Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Antonio Cesaro, and Big Show, as it comes down to Ryback and Big Show. Show capitalizes from botched interference from the WWE Champion Randy Orton and eliminates Ryback to win the match at 15:02! He is the number one contender and will face Randy Orton at Survivor Series!

Grade: 66

Final Score: 73

Rating: 5.26

To kick off Smackdown, we get the return of Rey Mysterio. The on-and-off masked master of the 619 says he’s happy to be back on the road with the WWE. He hypes up his return to the crowd, before The Real Americans come to the ring! Zeb essentially tells Rey that spots in the WWE are reserved for Real Americans and tells him to go back to where he came. The barbs escalate into a match, right now! It’s Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio!

Grade: 55

Match 1:

http://i.imgur.com/HfbRZjA.jpg VS. http://i.imgur.com/uz5nbKs.jpg

Rey and Swagger have a good back and forth match, as the two have had some experience wrestling each other in the past. Swagger takes advantage of Rey’s ring rust, but Rey’s quickness and cunning let’s Rey get Swagger right in position to receive a 619. Antonio charges in and Rey wins via DQ at 8:30!

Grade: 63

Notes: Zeb Coulter continued to do good work at ringside, advising and rooting on Jack Swagger.

Swagger and Cesaro have jumped Mysterio to cause the DQ. Zeb cheers them on as they continue to lay a beating on Rey, but they quickly leave the ring when The Usos run down to the ring and save him! The Usos are challenging the Real Americans to come back and fight, but they choose to fight another day.

At the end, Nattie locked Layla in the Sharpshooter to ensure victory at 6:47.
