How do You book ROH ?

Recommended Posts

So after playing mainly as WWE and TNA so far, I wanted to try to run ROH now. I've been setting my sights on that since the start, but I really don't know how to get around to it. With a stacked roster, and only 1Hr Show a week, how do you propose I book a company like that ? Would it be better to focus on 4-5 feuds and keep with them on the weekly shows and just add some filler matches on the special events ? Or would it be run like NXT where I focus on a group of wrestlers on one week, and then on another group the next week and just keep switching about ?

Also when do you feel is the best with a company like that to go after big name free agents and wrestlers that have a name thus wanting big pay cheques ?

I've not booked anything in real world mods, so I can only offer game-specific/technical advice. If I was booking a company like RoH (What are they in the mod you play? High Regional? low Cult?) and felt the need to do one weekly show, I'd focus on three storylines max. A main one, focussed on in every show, and two secondary ones. With one of those getting a big push every other week, whilst the other is relegated to a single 6-minute angle to keep it alive. Hard enough to keep enough of the rest of your talent on-screen enough that they won't complain with that...

And, yeah, hire the big names. On limited-appearance PPA contracts, then job them out mercilessly to people you want to push. Gets NICE overness boosts to those. NEVER let them win if they're only there for the short term. And don't be afraid to piss them off, unless you've got plans to bring them back later.

i would probably book it, by having my usual ten or so storylines

5 segments, so 3 matches and 2 segments main show

and do the same for your pre-show, pick the 3 hottest storylines to be on your show and then 2 random ones and then 5 more on your pre-show, and just switch the as needed

i remember playing as them a while ago and not even getting through one show as they have so many guys

I've been playing my first ROH game ever recently and have my feuds set up into three:

Upper Mid to Main Event: Consisting of the World Champion and 2 or 3 contenders.

Lower Mid to Mid and touching on upper: Consisting of the TV Champion or whatever secondary title I have and 2 or 3 contenders.

Tag Team: Consisting of Tag Team Champions and 2 or 3 other teams.

This way I can cover 16 of the 20 wrestlers of the ideal roster and usually trim the fat (usually openers/enhancement talents and time decliners). Thus allowing you to have three matches of 20, 20 and 15 or 15, 15 and 20 & a final 10 or 15 minute angle that can fill the show. Also this gives the opportunity of mixing storylines which can get convoluted if not kept track of, also throwing in the odd triple threat/3 vs. 3 match can use your main players and stop them getting sick.
