Kidman vs. Psicosis

Being uninterested is to Kidman's advantage, they always say that emotions are bad for a fighter.

The Revolution (Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn) vs. B&B Security (Bill DeMott & Bam Bam Bigelow)

Bed & Breakfast Security? :p The Revolution are ahead on the totem pole.

Big T vs. Kanyon © - WCW World Television Championship Match

Nobody's better than Kanyon.

Radicalz (Lance Storm and Chris Candido) vs. Steiner Bros.

This should be an interesting match. As much as I like Storm & Candido, they aren't headline material yet.

Konnan vs. Sting

A loss for Sting would be so damaging.

Gaijins (Berlyn & Liger) vs. Mysterio and La Parka

LOL. Gaijins, that's brilliant.

Chris Benoit vs. Lex Luger

Just like Sting, Benoit losing here would do a lot of damage. Luger isn't the kind of guy that should be beating your future stars.

WCW Monday Nitro on TNN (Show #46)

http://i.imgur.com/0yVx2pn.jpg

June 2000, Week 1

Mid South, Gallagher-Iba Arena (11,382)

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Monday Nitro! Huge main event tonight - "The Total Package" Lex Luger faces "The Crippler" Chris Benoit one on one. Also tonight Sting wrestles Konnan with "The Nature Boy" on commentary! Also the reunited Steiner Brothers go against Chris Candido and Lance Strom, dubbed as "The Radicalz". We also want to inform you that Bret Hart has passed his medical tests, so visibly nothing can distract "The Hitman" from defending his big gold belt at the upcoming pay-per-view. Hulk Hogan is yet to be cleared for in-ring competition though, Hulkster waits anxiously.

http://i.imgur.com/DWUuOyT.png

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Psicosis defeated Kidman in 5:52 by pinfall with a Sky Twister Press.

Kidman just doesn't care anymore... meanwhile Jimmy Hart negotiates a new contract for Eddie Guerrero with Roddy Piper. It looks like "The Mouth Of The South" got what he wanted. Commissioner throws the clipboard to Jimmy and tells him to get out. The megaphone man obliges and bumps into Buffed T's in the corridor. They walk into Roddy's office and ask for a tag team title shot. Piper says they'll get it, but not today. They can get a match for the TV title, if they want. Buff says he won't wrestle that guy even if that will get him a night in The Penthouse. Booker adds they will wrestle exclusively as a tag team from now on, so Big T is the only viable option from their camp. "That's not a bad idea, T. You should really become a real booker when you'll decide to hang up your boots!"

Daffney and Vampiro argue at the back. Vamp says it was a terrible idea to go to the cinema together in the first place, denying his fault at all costs. Daffney calls Vampiro an egotistical bastard, and blames him for trying to get Black Reign on the dark side.

- Dustin is misunderstood, he is not an evil person!

- He's a creature, just like me, just like you...

- He's a human being! Stop pretending to be something you're not, Ian!

- Don't... call me... Ian!

- Ian, Ian, IAN!

- SHUT UP!!

Crowbar walks in and yells "WAZZUP!?". Daff and Vamp stare each other down, ignoring that buffoon with a steal pipe.

Diamond Dallas Page and the trio of Sid, Benoit and Sting talk backstage. It looks like "The Icon" shortlisted "The People's Champion" for his team, and really expects to see him in the War Games match at Great American Bash! Cameraman is too far away to get the sound, but we can see how WCW's heroes shake hands and leave...

http://i.imgur.com/rtpvrvx.png

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Kanyon defeated Big T in 7:27 by pinfall with a Flatliner. Kanyon makes defence number 6 of his WCW World Television title.

Who's better than Kanyon!? Yet another defence for the "Innovator Of Offense"! Booker T and Buff Bagwell ain't too happy about it, as they step in the ring and proceed to stomp the title holder together. It's a two on one, Trish doesn't mind the beatdown as well! Quite frankly she enjoys it. BANG! It's me, it's me, it's D-D-P! "The Master Of The Diamond Cutter" rushes to the ring, trying to save Kanyon from a serious beating. He did that, but with a little twist. He took all the damage on himself, letting his friend to go away safely. Hey buddy, that's not cool. Kanyon gets his title and prepares to leave... then drops the gold and comes back in the ring with a steel chair! Trish now orders her boys to stop and leave. Kanyon scares Buffy T off, gets back in the ring and checks on his best friend. They walk up the ramp together.

"You mother**cker, I thought you would leave me". Commercial break time!

WOO! Ric Flair struts on the podium in his sharpest suit, babay! He is wheelin' and deelin' with nWo, and while Hart is absent, he is in charge. Gene Okerlund wants to know who will represent the New World Order in the War Games match at Great American Bash, stating we can be 99% sure that Stinger's team is full and done.

http://i.imgur.com/j5BLdgb.png

"Mean Gene, I'm takin' a slow and steady approach here. I want to make the right decision, so my guys can win the war with minimal losses! It is a four on four match, but one team will have a number's advantage at the beginning. I plan that team to be nWo, so I can't trust the coin toss. I intend to challenge Stinger's team to one condition in the main event for tonight... Whoever gets the fall, gets the advantage! Benoit, you stand no chance against Lex Luger, but I will understand if you decide to chicken out and reject the offer. But if you win... you can pick me, Kevin Nash or Scott Hall. WOO!"

Flair leaves the set, but what about Konnan and Lex Luger? Are they nailed on? I guess their results will affect the participants list, don't change the channel to find out who is the final man to wear black and white colors for Great American Bash!

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, The Revolution defeated B&B Security in 8:59 when Dean Malenko defeated Bill DeMott by submission with a Texas Cloverleaf.

A big victory for The Revolution, they just can't be ignored as legitimate contenders on the WCW tag team titles! Booker T and Buff Bagwell may have to wait, with Steiners around the corner too. Scott and Rick are about to reunite in the next match, against "The Radicalz"! "Big Poppa Pump" and "Dog-Faced Gremlin" compete shoulder to shoulder... after the break.

Torrie Wilson promotes GAB in the patriotic yet sexy outfit. She's on the poster too... Who in the right mind would prefer Ric Flair's poster over Torrie's? Girls should appear on DVD covers more often.

We're back, live on Monday Nitro! Fans take a deep breath and wait for The Steiners. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, FOLKS!

In the jungle, welcome to the jungle

Watch it bring you to your knnn knne knees, knees

I want to watch you bleed

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Steiner Brothers defeated The Radicalz in 10:11 when Scott Steiner defeated Chris Candido by submission following botched interference by Jeff Jarrett.

Steiners wrestled like it's 90's all over again! No rust, just smooth tag team action from both Scott and Rick. After the match "Freakzilla" posed in front of "Double J", showing off his muscles. Rick grabbed a mic and called Malenko and Saturn out for a match next week! Winners get "The Outsiders" for the titles. "Chosen One" says "Revolution" will be there, and reminds Scotty of his championship status once again.

Alex Shelley and Mike Sanders couldn't find Hall and Nash in the nWo locker room, so they had to investigate other areas. Alex suggested to split up, and soon regretted his choice. Mike finally found the NWO bosses, tied up in the boiler room! They tried to warn Sanders, but it was too late. The mystery man knocked Sanders out, put a gag in the mouthes of "The Outsiders", dragged unconcious Alex Shelley in and locked the room on the key. Who is it? I dunno, Brain!

Hulk Hogan takes his vitamins and reads his prayers. Hulkster did not expect to miss his dream match due to health problems, he is the toughest man in the business, dammit! "The Immortal" takes off his medical hat and puts on his bandana. Hulkster poses in front of a small mirror until one man appears behind his back. Black hair, leather jacket and one hell of a punchable face...

http://i.imgur.com/9CUNMrD.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/slrPpTu.jpg

- Looking good, Hulk!

- Eric? What are you doing here?

- Came to visit my old freind. Here, I got some bananas and pomegranates here. Hungry? You should prepare for your match at GAB.

- ...Good to see you, brother! I'm just a little bit surprised. You're right, dude, I really should be fit for that fight!

- A little bird told me you're out of the main event. Is that true?

- What are you talking about?

- Piper wants to put your match against Hart in the middle of the card, I thought you knew...

- That is unacceptable, that has to be a mistake!!

- Woah, cool down, Hulk. You should relax, take a sit.

- Eric, don't let him do that to me! I need your help, I'm stuck here.

- Don't worry, champ. I'll take care of Piper, just promise me you'll beat Bret Hart for the title.

Hulk steps up, looks straight in Bischoff's eyes and assertively says: "You have my word, brother!" Eric smugs and pats Hogan on the back, before leaving. Bischoff throws his overshoes in the trash can with a satistfied look on his face... Bret Hart steps from the shadow and asks him about Hulk.

- He is in our pocket, Bret. It took me only two minutes!

- Good job, Eric. You are the greatest liar I know... maybe the second best, but you're damn close to the top.

- I'll take it for a compliment.

http://i.imgur.com/KHbKjp4.png

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, L.A. Park and Rey Misterio Jr. defeated Berlyn and Jushin Liger in 14:57 when Rey Misterio defeated Berlyn by pinfall with a West Coast Pop.

Liger had to pick someone, so he chose the "German Brute". After the match "Thunder" tried to tear off "The Skeleton's" costume, but was denied by Misterio. Luchadores celebrated together until the commercial cut them off.

Bret Hart and Eric Bischoff sit in their limo, mocking Hulk Hogan in the process. Eric wants the driver to hurry up, they have a lot of things to do today.

- Yeah, I know, but your guy is in the trunk. Buckle up, gentlemen, doors are locked!

The driver turns out to be SID VICIOUS!

It's time to finish Raw off with our double main event! Sting and Konnan will go first, with "The Nature Boy" on commentary. But wait, it's Chris Benoit! He is heading straight to our announce table. "Crippler" only wanted to say he is not afraid of Lex Luger, and becasue of that he accepts the challenge from nWo's boss!

http://i.imgur.com/PWds20d.png

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Sting defeated Konnan in 10:28 by submission with a Scorpion Deathlock.

Ugly fight, but who expected this to be a wrestling showdown? Sting sends a message to Ric Flair, who is about to explode from anger. Konnan tapped out, that's unaccpetable in a War Games match. "Naitch" may have decided on his team right there, cutting K-Dawg off in his mind. Stinger howls to the fans and celebrates to taunt Ric even more. Benoit claps near the ringside, that was a remarkable victory. Flair throws his headset away and strips on his way to the ring! Sting meets him near the apron, and two legends start to brawl all over the place. Security team, hello? Nobody even tries to separate them, why?

Mike Awesome is with Okerlund backstage, ready for an interview. "Career Killer" rubs his newly won WCW hardcore championship and smugs in the camera, while "Mean Gene" asks him about Ken Shamrock. First of all, Ken Shamrock is not here tonight, Mike checked that. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" licks his wounds in the den, or where the hell he resides? Mike Awesome just wants to say that if you have problems with Hulk Hogan, you have problems with him too! Champion dedicates that title win to his mentor, and wishes him a quick recovery. Wait, we're not done yet! Terry Funk slowly limps in our direction, saying something inaudible.

"You stupid son of a whore... I want to fight you for that title one more time... I want it to be brutal... I want barbwire... I want glass... thumbtacks... fire... I want a Deathmatch..."

Mike Awesome grins and says he's down with that. Finally someone will end Funk's career once and for all, he adds, but Funk shows him a crooked middle finger and tells Mike to kiss him in his washed up ass! Awesome blasts Funk with a Brutal Nothern Lariat and leaves! Okerlund asks if Terry is OK? Lex Luger makes his elaborate entrance, but Chris Benoit hijacks the showman with a Suicide Dive!! Benoit is relentless, he might be smaller, but he surely can stand up for himself! Lex shoves Benoit in the steel post and cracks a chair left by Kanyon across his back! If the rifle hangs on the wall, it will be used. Luger throws "The Wolverine" in the squared circle and the actual match begins.

http://i.imgur.com/Fw8Kjjh.png

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Lex Luger defeated Chris Benoit in 15:21 by submission with a Torture Rack.

Lex Luger gets a massive victory for NWO! And he's not planning to release his submission hold! That chairshot made the critical damage, you can't blame Benoit for losing. Luger tortures Benoit, he knows that DDP, Sting and Sid can't help him at the moment... WAIT A MINUTE! What the HELL? What the hell with a damn TurnerTron? Brain, I dunno what's going on! It's a return, it has to be a return! He's back with the fireworks! MY GOD! Who is it!? WHO IS IT!? Let's see... GOLDBERG! That's it, I'll be a sonovabitch!!

Goldberg comes from behind through the crowd and SPEARS Lex Luger out of his boots, saving Chris Benoit! Fans are out of their minds!! GOLDBERG IS BACK!! He picks Luger up for a Jackhammer, it's over now.

"FLAIR, YOU'RE NEXT!!!"

Final Rating: 81/100

WCW Thursday Thunder on TBS (Show #47)

http://i.imgur.com/yfuqpdC.jpg

June 2000, Week 1

Norfolk Scope, Mid Atlantic (11,006)

We're live! A crashed black limo arrives to the parking lot, where Chris Benoit, Sting and Goldberg await with baseball bats gripped tightly in their fists! Hey, Goldberg, you're learning, good job! Sid leaves the driver seat and says they can destroy this car for all he cares, Hart and Bischoff are locked in there and can not escape! Goldberg swings his weapon and breaks the windshield, now we can see Eric's scared face! Benoit grins, Sting yells "IT'S SHOWTIME, FOLKS!!" All of them have fun, except for Bret Hart. Sid threw something that looked like a pipe and broke the rear window. "Hitman" tried to escape through that hole, but almost got knocked out with a bat again! Scared shitless, Bischoff called Hall and Nash for help. After a while they appeared on the parking lot and a huge parking lot brawl broke out! Konnan helped Hart out of the car, when Luger, Flair, Kev and Hall used everything to their advantage in a quest to stop The Stinger's squad. The broadcast abruptly switched to the advertising regime, somebody had enough of those street scrambles!

http://i.imgur.com/sx4pCgQ.png

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Eddie Guerrero defeated Juventud Guerrera in 9:05 by submission with a Laso from El Paso.

Look who's back and better than ever? Eddie! Guerrero celebrates with the fans, until Kidman comes out with Torrie's little dog. Billy says he is not happy that the cheater is back, and more than that, he's not happy that he beat Juvi. You know, he knows all about that La Parka scheme and he is ready willing and able to explain it to Mr. Piper... Eddie smirks, says nobody can trust Kidman in their right mind. He stabbed his brothers in the back, when they cared about him the most. Eddie told us we all have our demons, but not all of us fight them. Hey, he's one of them, and because it's true, he wanted to help Billy. Make his life better! Kidman shakes his head, he is not falling on that. "Torrie dumped me right away, and she cared about me much more than you two. Now she's obsessed with this stupid dog I bought her on the Valentine's Day. Since then all things went downhill... because of this stupid dog!"

Doggie bites Kidman by his hand and escapes safely. "Don't blame the dog, holmes, you put the hand in it's mouth. Same thing you did with us. You treat us bad - we bite your ass!" Eddie passes Kidman, as we go to a commercial break.

Shane Douglas and his goons walk down the ramp. “Cut the DAMN MUSIC! Piper, we had enough, you can’t just hold us down like that. Dean and Perry should have been announced as the number one contenders on the tag team championship a couple of weeks ago! What’s worse, you are disrespecting Jeff Jarrett and the US championship, booking a match for your clerk so he can cash back in! And of course, “The Franchise” himself is not happy with your management! I’m going to rally my troops for Great American Bash and kick you’re A…” Shane Douglas got interrupted by the New World Order’s music. No tag team champions, just Alex Shelley and Mike Sanders dressed as “The Outsiders”. Alex copies Kev’s mannerisms, Sanders slicks his hair back and puts a matchstick in his teeth. Douglas commands to teach those geeks a lesson!

http://i.imgur.com/jR6WdSP.png

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Revolution defeated Paparazzi Productions in 7:47 when Dean Malenko defeated Alex Shelley by submission with a Texas Cloverleaf.

Saturn caught Alex Shelley in his attempt to hit the Sliced Bread #2 on Malenko, planted him hard and left the young man to "The Man of 1000 Holds"! Challengers for the tag team titles worked stiff and literally blasted the brash rookies. Piper appeared on the Tron after the match and informed everyone he had granted a match between Revolution and Steiner Brothers for next Nitro, so they better be ready for that! As for today, Roddy thinks that somebody has to shut Shane's mouth for good, and that man would be MENG! As a fair man, Piper also books the US champion Jeff Jarrett in a non-title match against Mike Rotunda right now, nobody is "Chosen One" on his watch!

A brief recap of Goldberg's thunderous return. The man aligned forces with Team WCW, trying to get his revenge on Bret Hart's gang. Surely it's not over.

Hogan is in the building! Hulk wants to know what the heck Piper is thinking, putting the dream match in the middle of the card? Piper parries with War Games stipulation match, but Hulk thinks that world title should be his priority, brother! Roddy says he doesn’t need advises, he can do his job on his own! “Oh yeah? How about I call Ted Turner, jack?” Commissioner feels oppressed, he loses control over the situation. Bret Hart enters the office too, with his title resting on the shoulder. “Hitman” is unhappy with the whole scenario as well, so he backs Hulk’s opinion and talks about champion’s status. He is the number one guy in the company, the whole industry revolves around him! Hogan thinks otherwise but keeps his mouth shut. Both champion and challenger leave the room together, with “Hot Rod” yelling at them. “So you’re friends now? Fine, next Monday you will wrestle Booker T and Buff Bagwell!”

http://i.imgur.com/5Kz3Met.png

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Mike Rotunda defeated Jeff Jarrett in 5:29 by the way of count out.

As the match progressed, Piper left his office in fury. He left the door open, for Funk to come in. Terry talked to fishes in aquarium, and promised to set them free. back to the ring area, Jarrett decided to skip the non-title match, he could lose more than gain there. Mike Rotunda looks at the US champ with some disappointment displayed on his face.

"The IRS" represents Piper's committee, so that could spell a disaster for "Double J". Before "The Chosen One" can escape, Steiners appear on the screen. Rick barks at Torrie Wilson's doggie, so it pisses on the floor a little bit. Scott picks the animal and adds it reminds him of Jeff Jarrett. Weak, cowardly, sniffing around and saliva dropping little *hit! Scotty says he likes BIG dogs, almost as BIG as his ARMS! Rick woofs and pets a bigass dog while "The Big Poppa Pump" gets it's collar on his own neck. "I'm looking good, ain't I? I'm going to look even better with that US title around my waist! Jarrett, this little doggie sniffed your wet panties, so you're not getting far away! It will bite your scrawny ASS, and then I'll make you squeal like a little bitch in a Steiner Recliner! HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME!!"

Vito & Bull grab Shane Douglas by his armpits and throw him in the ring. Another match for "The Revoluton"? Damn right it is, MENG comes to the ring!!

http://i.imgur.com/hmsvFYO.png

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Meng defeated Shane Douglas in 6:34 by pinfall with a Superkick.

The leader of The Revolution got wrecked right here. Piper sent Big Vito and The Bull to make sure "The Franchise" didn't get what he wanted. Shane ate a Super Kick, the jaw-breaking one. That could have been the last straw for the man behind anti-WCW faction. Meng finally gets some rub, maybe he can feature in the Great American Bash? But you know who is nailed on the GAB match list, aren't you? It's Ric Flair and NWO against Sting and his company! The parking lot brawl spilled a lot of blood, but it's only a glimpse of what these eight men will experience in the War Games match. Everyone in the nWo locker room looks beat and bruised - except for Konnan. Flair gets in K-Dawg's face and asks what's his problem is!?

- Hey, holmes, I got Bret out of the car, mang!

- It's true, Naitch, Eric can confirm.

- I don't trust that weasel. Hitman, you have my respect and you can do whatever you want with Hogan and Piper, but let me take care of this fella here.

- Hey, amigo, I'm black and white in and out!

"You look brown to me..." - Nash drops.

Konnan loses his shit and grabs "Big Sexy" by his ponytail, tearing off a big chunck of hair. Hall shoves K-Dawg away, Hart has a flashback. "I don't give a shit, Nash. If I have to prove something to you, Ric, then let's get cracking tonight! To be the man, you have to BEAT the man. ORALE!" He slams the door, Nash states he won't fight with that loco shoulder to shoulder at War Games. Hall says he sticks with Kev, while Lex chooses Flair's side. Hart is the only one on Konnan's side, but he gets it - it's 4 against one. "Do what you want, but I still need him."

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon defeated B&B Security in 7:37 when Kanyon defeated Bill DeMott by pinfall with a Northern Lights Suplex. During the match we also had Bam Bam Bigelow turn on Bill DeMott.

Curt Hennig was very active on commentary, allowing himself homophobic and misogynist remarks throughout the match. Hennig called DDP Kanyon’s daddy, and claimed Kimberly to be a “cover” for “The People’s Champion”. After all, Curt challenges Kanyon to a decisive third match for the WCW world television championship next week! He wants a clean finish and a coveted prize handed to him by one of the officials! About the match itself... Bigelow left DeMott high and dry, rejecting the hot tag in the end of the match. Looks like Bam Bam had enough of Piper's crap and is switching sides. "Jersey Triad" poses for a sec, but "The Beast From The East" leaves first. Curt sights DDP and Kanyon celebrating the victory and almost throws up on Bam Bam!! Guys, be cool.

Mike Awesome finds Hulk Hogan backstage and hugs him from behind. Hogan panics, but struggles to escape "the hold". "Hulk, don't you recognize me?" Hogan turns his head and exhales in relief, it's his brother. "Hey, don't say a thing, I have a Deathmatch with Funker in a minute! Will you be there for me?"

Hulkamania nods, and at the same time Ken Shamrock shocks Mike from behind. Awesome collapses to the floor, but Hogan won't let Shamrock pin the guy to win the hardcore championship back. Shamrock winks at Hogan and we're out for advertising.

Death is in the air, but we're on air! Funker stands in the middle of the ring with a lit up barbwire stick! It takes literally forever for Mike to make his entrance. "Come on... jackass... don't make me mad..." Awesome comes out with his hair brought up after the laser shot. He's shaking and he smells bad - like a fried rat. Fans chant E-C-W, the match is yet to begin. Awesome throws the title in the ring and picks up two trash cans before the time keeper can ring the bell. HERE WE GO!

http://i.imgur.com/ceeAkoq.png

Funk hits Awesome with a closed fist right in the kisser. Swings his weapon but misses wildly... Mike plants Funk with a Spinebuster on the trash can!! Puts out the fire from the barbwire bat and shoves it in Terry's face. Fans are shocked, it went from zero to hundred REALLY quick. Funker kicks Mike in the nuts, so "Career Killer" drops the stick. Funk grabs a cheese grater, rubs it across Mike's forehead! What a mess that is! Funk with another shot, this time - eye. Time for a sleeper, but Mike bites Funk, throws him out of the ring right on the steal steps! Recovers quickly and... TOPE SUICIDA!! Holy crap! Mike is insane, he throws the steps right in Funker's face! Wait, Terry catches them, but Mike adds a Big Boot! Awesome picks Terry up and clotheslines him over the barricade on the bare floor. They brawl amongst the people, who are scared for their lives as "The Hardcore Legend" swings wild shots. OH MY GOD WHAT A SPEAR!! Mike missed by a mile, and his head got stuck in the barricade! Terry grabs a chair and starts to behead Mike with it! Funk picks his arm up, DDT!! The legend gives Awesome time to recover, trying to find something special to play with backstage. Aquarium! Funk puts it on Mike's head, and cracks it back with a chair!! Crazed Awesome grabbed Funk and sent him from the ramp to the announce table with an Awesome BOMB!! Heenan almost got a heart attack during this. Mike is about to finish this massacre, he Awesome Bombs Funker back in the ring! Gets a mystery bag from under the ring, while laughing maniacally... THUMBTACKS! He spreads them around the ring and lands Funker on them with a Belly To Back Suplex!!! My godness, he goes on the top rope! Awesome signalises it is over, leaps from the turnbuckle... AWESOME SPLASH ON THUMBTACKS!!! Funk rolled out in the last sec, now he grabs Mike's leg and applies a Spinning Toe Hold. Surely that move won't wrap this blood bath up! No, Awesome fights back. He shoves Funk into the ropes and breaks Funk in half with a Pop Up Powerbomb on the C4 TABLE!!! Who brought that to our show!!?? Mike puts his heel on Funk's chest and the ref counts 1-2-3... In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Mike Awesome defeated Terry Funk in 9:05 by pinfall with a Pop Up Powerbomb on the C4 table. Mike Awesome makes defence number 1 of his WCW Hardcore title.

People are dead silent. We killed the crowd, guys. Don't worry about Funk, he sleeps on C4 pillows and uses barbwire boards as blankets. Awesome poses on the turnbuckle, FUNK GETS BACK ON HIS FEET! LOW BLOW!!! Funk turns around and goes there himself... MOONSAULT!!! Funk got the last laugh in the end, but it looks like it is realy the END for "The Texan"... Revolution vs. Steiners, Buffy T vs. Hart & Hogan, La Parka vs. Jushin Liger in a rematch, all those bouts are booked for the last Nitro before Great American Bash! Booker T and Buff Bagwell run into Hogan in the hall, they try to bully "The Hulkster", but "Outsiders" step in the frame and shield the challenger for Hart's title. Stare down between Hall-Nash-Booker-Buff builds tension around the WCW world tag team championship titles. Well, here is our main event of the evening - Ric Flair against Konnan! After the break...

http://i.imgur.com/hxMYvOU.png

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Ric Flair defeated Konnan in 9:38 by pinfall with a Roll Up after Charles Robinson made a quick count.

Konnan feels cheated, he was about to lock his Tequila Sunrise on Flair, but "The Dirtiest Player In The Game" slipped and grabbed the victory thanks to his bastard stripe-shirted child! Ref lifts Flair's hand, and quickly runs away. Ric approaches Konnan and tells him he didn't make a cut. At War Games it will be Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Lex Luger and "The Nature Boy" himself, WOO! Suck it up, perro.

Final Rating: 79/100 (3.27 on TBS)

WCW Monday Nitro on TNN (Episode #48)

http://i.imgur.com/x0sVNiW.jpg

June 2000, Week 2

Great Lakes, Milwaukee Arena (12,344)

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Big T defeated Brian Adams in 5:45 by pinfall with a Pearl River Plunge.

In an awful match that was completely devoid of heat, Mamalukes defeated The Arische Rasse in 7:20 when Big Vito defeated Jacob by pinfall with an Impaler DDT.

Ric Flair versus Konnan match is being highlighted right before the traditional opening sequence. Heenan, Tenay and Schiavonte welcome everybody to the show where the big boys play! Great American Bash is happening in six days, don't you dare miss that pay-per-view. Tenay gets some time to hype the situation in the cruiserweight division, and concentrates his attention on the championship match set to begin in a couple of minutes, in which La Parka is set to defend not-quite-his title against the almighty Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

http://i.imgur.com/jKHrzvX.png

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, La Parka defeated Jushin Liger in 7:09 by pinfall with a surprise roll up.

As the match picked up it's pace, Kidman finished his "rat operation", informing Piper that Eddie Guerrero was the man in La Parka's costume all along! Livid Roddy stopped the bout and ordered Eddie Guerrero to unmask, but to his huge surprise, "Latino Heat" appeared behind his back. Eddie smirked to Roddy and that way distracted Jushin Liger, helping La Parka to retain! Commissioner whispers "You can never trust a drug addict..."

As Ric Flair arrives at the arena we find Konnan waiting... after a brief stare down Konnan shakes Ric Flair hand and tells him the better wrestler won last Thursday. "The Nature Boy" is pleasantly surprised with that reaction, he shakes K-Dawgs hand and tells the man he has big cojones! "I have work for you, amigo!" In the other wing of the building, Shane Douglas gets signatures to officially remove Roddy Piper from his authority figure position. He has seven already. Regal, Candido, Storm, Malenko, Saturn, Jarrett and "The Franchise" himself put their names in Roddy's black list. Again.

Sting, Benoit and Sid stand in the ring, waiting for their mystery opponents to show up. Before the trio gets revealed, Sting tells the fans he has a dilemma involving Diamond Dallas Page and Goldberg. One of them will be left aside from the War Games match, and he's not sure who he wants more in his team... Sid says they have to pick Goldberg, he's a WAR machine! Benoit thinks otherwise, it's more about heart and the power of will in that kind of match, so he chooses "The People's Champion". Sid says whoever gets the victory in the upcoming match will have the final say, Chris doesn't mind it. Sting once again steps in to stop the argument, but it's time for our three on three match! Disco Fever, yeah!!

http://i.imgur.com/XfH6aqL.png

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Chris Benoit, Sid Vicious and Sting defeated Norman Smiley and The Disco Cats in 4:53 when Sting defeated Norman Smiley by submission with a Scorpion Deathlock.

So Sting has the final say... but "The Icon" gives people a chance to decide, Team WCW is about the fans more than anything! Both Sid and Benoit agree, and the fan favorites leave the ring together. Wait, Sid rolls back in the ring and double chokeslams the Disco Cats! Benoit rolls his eyes, Sting talks with little "stingers".

We're back on TNN, it's time for some weird stuff. Vampiro calls Black Reign out, they need to talk. "The American Nightmare" ignores that request. Vamp says it's time to clear things up a little bit... he wants to know who in the hell Black Reign thinks he is? A superpowered creature or a weak human being? Vamp goes through last half a year, remembering how he accidentally turned Dustin Rhodes into the unstoppable monster he is now. It's scary to imagine how strong Reign would be if Vamp did his thing on purpose. The deal is, Vamp will die trying to find out. He tasted friendship and he didn't like it's taste... he poured his tortured soul to "them", and in the end "they" left him alone in the dark. Daffney comes out to calm the guy down.

- Are you talking about cinema, Ian? We got out to buy some pop co...

- DON'T CALL ME IAN!!

Vampiro loses the plot. He is about to break down... "He stole you from us! Don't you remember that? What's wrong with you? Oh, no-no, don't answer that...I know! Just two words... Stockholm Syndrome!"

http://i.imgur.com/RfNzWhD.jpg

- Wha-a-at??

- You were missing for weeks, and then you showed up and shoved those stupid tickets in our faces, for that stupid movie, like nothing even happened! Then you spent the whole night staring at him, not even blinking! What about me? What about Vampiro??

- Vamp, you're delusional and overreacting.

- That's not true. You played with me, like I'm some kind of a toy... then you forgot about me, and that hurts a lot more than bruises and cuts. Come Great American Bash, I'll put an end to it. I made Black Reign, and I will break him!!

Vamp jumps off the ring, and runs away in tears. Coming up next is the final encounter between Curt Hennig and Chris Kanyon!

We're backstage, Gene Okerlund asks Curt Hennig about the upcoming match. Hennig says he is an old school guy, one of the dying breed. Curt says that men like him made this industry what it is today, and with Kanyon's as TV champions, he is afraid for the business like any other veteran would be. "Terry Funk is a good example. A man that keeps coming back because he knows he can not be replaced. He knows there are only a couple of guys in the back ready to commit a crime for just one shot at glory. Tonight, I will save professional wrestling from the decease named Kanyon. And yeah... if I lose, but that's not going to happen, I will retire on the spot. If he survives the third time, than it's time for me to ride away in the sunset, period"

http://i.imgur.com/dHQQkNH.png

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Kanyon defeated Curt Hennig in 11:44 by pinfall with a Fisherman Suplex. Kanyon makes defence number 7 of his WCW World Television title. Diamond Dallas Page looked over Kanyon, so Shannon Moore catched a Daimond Cutter.

Hennig can not believe it! He lost the match to that guy after he used his move?? Curt's eye starts shivering, referee hands Kanyon his title. Diamond Dallas Page congratulates his friend, but wait, there's more. "The Beast From The East" joins the celebration, throwing both DDP and Kanyon beers. Funk is the next man to appear on the stage, he encourages Hennig to be a man and do the right thing.

"...I ****Ing Quit"

Hennig rolls out of the ring, broken mentally, but not physically. He looks straight into Terry Funk's eyes, who reflects something completely different: a man broken physically, but not mentally. Curt mentions Shannon Moore staying aside and calls him over. He shakes Moore's hand, but then spits gum in his face. "Man up, Shannon!" Hennig flips a "bird" to the fans and leaves WCW forever. Funk says Hennig was right in one thing - there are only a couple of guys ready to get their hands dirty if that helps them. Booker T, Scott Steiner, Mike Awesome, Sid Vicious, to name a few. They won't stop until they get what they think belongs to them. But Kanyon is different, he does this not for glory, money or respect, he does it because he loves the pro wrestling in himself, and not himself in pro wrestling. "The Hardcore Legend" wishes Kanyon luck and says that his last match will happen at the Great American Bash.

Mike Awesome is smiling like a cheshire cat, watching all that soap opera on the TV screen. Mike Rotunda approaches the hardcore champion and asks him for a minute of his attention. "IRS" puts a cassette in the VCR and rolls the footage right to the moment where Hogan was attacked backstage by someone. "You knew who attacked Hulk? And didn't tell me!?? That's because Piper paid you, huh? You money-grabbing *unt!" Rotunda fast reversed, and catched Ken Shamrock's match against Rick Steiner. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" is innocent, and the tape proves that. Awesome gulps and says that can't be true... too late. Ken shoves Mike's head first in the TV screen, breaking it completely and literally "shocking" the champion. COVER! IRS counts to three and we have a NEW hardcore champion! Steiner's name got saved for better times. Piper needs brothers to take out Malenko and Saturn, that fight is next!

http://i.imgur.com/mwyvg4g.png

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Steiner Brothers drew with The Revolution in 12:42 when the match descended into chaos after Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall all became involved.

Outsiders don't want to defend their titles on the eve of the War Games, so they put their noses in that match in order to get a draw. Nobody gets a title shot - happy days! But then JJ ran out and broke his guitar over Dog-Faced Gremlin's face. "Big Poppa Pump" fought Hall & Nash, then got swarmed by Malenko and Saturn too. Two opposing factions combined their forces to take out Scott Steiner!! Five on one! And there you have it! Sid, Benoit, Sting AND Goldberg ran out and cleaned the house. No DDP! Piper appears on the TurnerTron and tells Hall and Nash that they WILL defend their titles on Thursday, against Revolution! Now he owes something to "Freakzilla", who got beat by five men at once. And that's an official DOG COLLAR MATCH AGAINST JARRETT FOR THE TITLE! "The Chosen One" falls on the ground with hands covering his face.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I owe you one too. Goldberg against Bam Bam Bigelow, NEXT!"

Benoit, Sid and Sting meet a wasted Diamond Dallas Page backstage. He had a couple of beers with his buddies: Kanyon and Bigelow. Sting looks Dallas in the eyes and shakes his head in disappointment. Benoit stares dead at Page, Sid spits on the floor near DDP and also goes missing. Alex Shelley and Mike Sanders drop a DVD on Rotunda's table, but warn Mike that CD's are not for dinosaurs! Rotunda is not a dumb man, he knows very well how to use them. He opens the folder, where one video file awaits to be played. IRS presses the button to see Konnan, Luger and Ric Flair brutally assaulting Big T, Buff Bagwell and Booker T! That main event is DOOMED.

In an extremely short match, Goldberg defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in 4:48 by pinfall with The Spear.

People chant the winner's name, it is clear who they want to see in Team WCW now. Goldberg is not over, though, he picks Bam Bam for a JACKHAMMER and plants him hard! That's it, the 4th member of The Stinger's Squad is GOLDBERG!!!

Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Eric Bischoff sit in the nWo locker room, waiting for good news. Luger, Konnan and Flair open the door and inform two legends that the job is done. All clear, Hogan and Hart are ready to go. Eric Bischoff follows them, he will be a guest commentator for that bigger-than-life tag team match. Flair checks an NWO contract for GAB, signed by both men. It will close the show, it will be the biggest WCW match since Sting-Hogan, and it's going to be... Flair hides the contract under his robe. Booker T and Buff Bagwell get yelled at by Piper, who has no idea that Hogan signed the deal with a devil. He also has no clue about the "Franchise Plan" that will backfire very soon.

You may ask where is Trish Stratus? That's a damn good question. Okerlund says she moaned and groaned in the NWO locker room for hours, and only God knows who was doing Booker's girlfriend. Can we trust that old guy? The only thing we can confirm is that Naitch, K-Dawg, Luger, Hall and Nash all stayed in that room for the main event. Hall and Nash looked particularly pleased... the tag team champions had a great night.

Great American Bash will blow your mind, people! War Games Match, Hogan vs. Hart and Jarrett vs. Steiner in a Dog Collar Match makes it the most anticipating pay-per-view of the year. Don't worry, there are still a lot of matches to be confirmed. It's time for our main event!

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan defeated Booker T and Buff Bagwell in 11:24 when Hulk Hogan defeated Buff Bagwell by pinfall with a Leg Drop.

A stroll to success for Hulkster and Hart. Hogan picks up the mic to announce that at GAB "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan will face Bret "The Hitman" Hart for the BIG GOLD BELT, brother! Eric Bischoff gets in the ring and adds that he acted as Hogan's advocate in that contract signing behind closed doors. He is very happy to inform all of us, that a dream match like that will close the show!! Hogan nods, he's satisfied. Hart wants to say something too. Eric passes the stick, and Bret starts a long speech about the iconic figures who held the world heavyweight championship.

"Hulkster, that was a special night for you, huh? A nice dinner, nice girl sitting on your lap, drinks and whatnot. That was a preview of what may happen at Great American Bash. But the key word in that sentence is MAY. You see, Hogan, I'm a man of my word. You wanted to fight in the main event - I made it possible thanks to your loyal puppy Eric Bischoff. We worked out that contract with Ted Turner, and he gave us a green light to do it. Now what I want to hear from you, is how difficult you want to make it for yourself? Do you want to join NWO and enjoy your wrestling career for 5 or 7 years more, or just see how your legacy slowly dies out in my light? You have three days to think about it. In the meantime, try to remember what happened on January 4th in 1999... Because that's your only option, brother!"

Hart jumps off the ring with a smug look on his face. Bischoff grins too and adds "It's just business, Hulk, nothing personal!" It was a set up. Hogan got fooled once again, but this time - royally. His only option now is to lay down for "Hitman" after the Fingerpoke of Doom II...

Nitro Recap

  • Konnan chose to be a good "perro" after he shook hands with Ric Flair who basically screwed him out of the War Games match. Surely, you can say it's all about respect, but do you really trust anyone who wears black and white colors?
  • Kidman ratted Mysterio, Eddie and La Parka out, informing Piper that the man who pinned Liger in that infamous "upset" was Guerrero, and not "The Skeleton"... Roddy demanded the champion to show his true face, but Eddie came out from the back, fooling everyone in "The Caninet".
  • Shane Douglas and his "Revolution" picked up some momentum, as "The Franchise" collected a lot of signatures for Piper's dismissal.
  • Fans chose Goldberg to represent Team WCW in the War Games match, leaving Diamond Dallas Page out of the occasion. Now "The People's Champion" has no match on the biggest pay-per-view of the summer, and that comes as a huge surprise.
  • Vampiro's delusional act showed us how vulnerable Vamp really is. He feels betrayed by his "friends" and he blames Black Reign for that. After all, Vampiro stated that he was the one who made Reign, so he will be the one to BREAK him!
  • Curt Hennig was forced to quit by Terry Funk after his third unsuccessful attempt to dethrone Chris Kanyon. "The Hardcore Legend" put the TV champion over big time in his speech, and announced one of his numerous retirement matches for GAB.
  • Mike Awesome found out that Ken Shamrock never even touched Hulk Hogan, and after Rotunda showed him the tape, proving Ken innocent, the hardcore champion was attacked from behind by "The World's Most Dangerous Man". We have a new hardcore champion, and it's very unlikely to change until GAB.
  • Roddy ordered IRS to cover for Steiner Brothers, so they would do the job in the tag team match for the number one contendership, taking Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn out of the title picture. Commissioner's plan was ruined by "The Outsiders", who ruled the bout to a "no contest" finish. After the five one one attack on "Big Poppa Pump", Piper booked Jarrett in a Dog Collar Match against "The Freakzilla" for the US title.
  • In order to irritate both factions, Piper also booked a match for the tag team championship on Thunder. Tight schedule does no favors to Hall and Nash, who are about to enter the cage with Benoit, Sid, Goldberg and Sting!
  • In the main event Hogan and Hart picked up an easy victory against Buffy T, who were attacked backstage before the bout. After the match Bischoff stated the match for the title will be in the main event, thanks to Ted Turner. "Hitman" then put Hulkamania in the uncomfortable situation, by bringing the Fingerpoke of Doom II as a sole option for Hulkster's dream match finish. What's Hogan final decision spells for WCW?
