Malik “The Freak” Rivers got his nickname because of his jaw-dropping athleticism as a lightweight boxer. In some cases, Rivers would go 12 rounds and still seem like he had more energy to burn. This sort of subhuman ability garnered him a lot of focus in the boxing world; however, sadly, Malik was never able to capitalize by winning a championship (going 0-3 in championship bouts in his career). During his tenure, Rivers compiled a strong 35-10 record as a professional boxer; however, in recent years “The Freak” has seen his high-profile name start to fall behind the new crop of fighters. By the end of 2012, Rivers could barely make it onto a televised bout without having to face a new up-and-comer with a growing name.
