The resurrection of WCW !

Recommended Posts

(note: I am using the T-zone database and created WCW in the editor. It’s a traditional promotion. I have 10 popularity in South East and the rest 0, 20 Prestige and $300.000, and I know the intro sucks ;) ) Intro: After watching another bad episode of RAW and seeing that TNA doesn’t have enough angles on their shows, I started to realize I was missing WCW… I started thinking of the time back then… Goldberg kicking ass, a good cruiserweight division, the NWO, real tag teams like Kronik, Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Staziak, Jindrak & O’haire… ahhh. A few days later I had this marvelous (or stupid) idea to start WCW again, with the goal of bringing back those good old times and eventually reconquer the wrestling business. I started looking for people who would want to sponsor me and help me set it up. As I’m just a normal guy who only knows wrestling from tv I wouldn’t want to be the owner, so I started looking for one. I found one pretty fast: former ETWA owner "The Boss" has experience and can wrestle. In the meanwhile I found a load of sponsors and gathered a total of $300.000. I know we have to start from scratch and that we’ll have to battle with the Indy’s first so I hope we can get some cheap but popular and decent wrestlers.

October 2005: Week 1: Hmm… what would a wrestling promotion need…? Wrestlers of course! I’ll look on one of those Internet sites for wrestling junks and see which former WCW workers are unemployed at this time… Ah here it is. Let’s see… After looking for and contacting former WCW stars we’ve signed the following wrestlers: Brian Adams (Kronik) , Bryan Clark (Kronik), Buff ‘The Stuff’ Bagwell, David Flair (son of…), Diamond Dallas Page, Ernest ‘The Cat’ Miller, Evan Karagias (ex 3-count), Horace Hogan (relative of the Hulkster), Jerry Lynn, Norman Smiley, Perry Saturn, Bill Kidman, Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner, Shawn Stasiak and Stevie Ray (ex Harlem Heat). Not bad for my first week I guess.

Week 2: We were trying to get Sting to sign for us, but when I saw what he asked I realized that he was out of our league. After meeting some of these guys I signed in person, I kinda had the feeling that these guys were all pretty old for a wrestler. We can’t use ‘em forever… Lets look for some younger guys to ensure our future. After browsing some internet forums I found out that the net junkies (who are ahead of their time) like promotions like Ring Of Honor, Combat Zone Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Unplugged. Better start to illegally download some of their shows on the internet and look at their workers potential. After watching some shows, I came to the conclusion that these promotions don’t really tell much of a story… And that some CZW matches are just sick. Hmm….I’ve seen some quite good guys, most of them need to gain some more muscles, but we can work on that. Most of these guys also work for lots of other promotions, so it’ll be hard to sign them. After contacting some wrestlers the following workers signed with us: Frankie Kazarian, JC Baily, Matt Sydal, Sedrick Strong and good ol’ Crowbar. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: I do not want to offend anyone and am just playing "in character". Also, should I go with a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly show?

interesting roster starting to form, I like Kazarian and Sydal is going to be a star...Sedrick is alright to I believe.. I personally would start with a weekly 1 hour TV to build up for a monthly larger event...But then again I never seem to make any money in my games

Week 3: So… do we have everything now? An owner, money, older wrestlers, younger wrestlers. Of course not! We still need an announcer, a referee and a road agent. Hmm.. where would I find those? I’ll ask some of the guys who they like the most as announcer and as a referee… and they came up with Joey Styles as announcer and Brian Hebner. Now only a road agent and I’m finished with the signings. Let’s look for some old retired wrestlers. Aha! I found our guy, Paul Orndorff. I hope he’ll do fine. Now… anything else I overlooked? Ah yes, title belts. Which one should I choose? Hmm… Lets start with three belts: The World Tag Team Championship Title, the Hardcore Title and The World Title! Now we’re ready to plan our first show. There’ll be a weekly episode of WCW Monday Nitro, Starting next week.

You certainly got your work cut out for you with that roster...But I guess that's what this is about...You building WCW back up You've got yourself an instant main event feud with Steiners vs Kronik DDP vs Bagwell should draw you some fans and then you can have good undecard matches between any combination of Kidman, Lynn, Kazarian, Saturn and Sydal Styles will help any match with his announcing Good Luck
