WWZone
Hello my name is WWZone, some people may know me here. But some may not because I'm not all that active in other people's diaries or anywhere else, I've been mostly away from GDS but I wanted to come back and try to get this NJPW Diary off the ground, I tried to do it before a year ago now I believe. But now I would like to have another go at it. The one reason why I didn't do it before hand, because I realised how harder puro feds are in TEW13 then they were in TEW05 and that what had scared me about trying a puro fed. But I decided to give it a full try and not just a one show type of deal, I'm here until some how I go bankrupted with NJPW. But anyways, I am the owner and booker of New Japan Pro Wrestling, trying to see if I can take the promotion to new highs. It is the top promotion in Japan and it's starting to get around to the other countries with America being the next biggest market for them. So I'm gonna see if I can turn New Japan to a global federation. So I'm playing with the real life version of NJPW with Captain Charisma's mod, but I'm gonna switch things up and break reality a bit, just to make things more fun and do some fantasy booking as well as keeping it real half way. So let's start things out by putting the Roster, Tag Teams/Stables and the Champions than I will post a Card for Wrestle Kingdom 9 to kick things off. Hashasheen
IWGP Heavyweight Championship Hiroshi Tanahashi © vs Kazuchika Okada Comment: Tanahashi was the right choice in IRL, and he's the right choice here. Okada needs a little more maturing. IWGP Intercontinental Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura © vs Kota Ibushi Comment: See above. Ibushi's got a ways to go, but he'll get there. Special Singles Match: AJ Styles vs Tetsuya Naito Comment: Naito's a warm-body upper-carder. He's certainly not Phenomenal. Special NOAH Match: Naomichi Marufuji vs Takashi Sugiura Comment: No clue, but I recognize Marufuji at least. NJPW vs TNA Match: Yuji Nagata vs Kurt Angle Comment:Homegrown over Foreign, even if I like Angle more. IWGP Tag Team Championship: Guns & Gallows © vs Meiyu Tag Comment: Guns & Gallows held the title for a year without getting much accomplished in terms of title defenses, so yeah. Meiyu Tag is fresh and they've got the momentum behind them. IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Ryusuke Taguchi © vs Kenny Omega Comment: The Cleaner vs. the Old Guard? Heh, just swap it over so KUSHIDA can begin his rise. NEVER Openweight Championship Tomohiro Ishii © vs Togi Makabe Comment: Ishii was brilliant. UWFI Rules: Minoru Suzuki vs Kazushi Sakuraba Comment:Because I want Suzuki gunning for Ishii's belt. Sakuraba can work with Makabe as a tag team against Guns & Gallows, I feel. Eight Men Tag: Suzuki-gun vs Toru Yano, ???, ??? & ??? Comment: In Yano We Trust! Six Men Tag: Tencozy/Tomoaki Honma vs Bullet Club/EC3 Comment: Honma manages it! Singles Match: Yoshitatsu vs Yujiro Takahashi Comment: Realized I mixed up Tatsu for Yoshi-Hashi. Never mind, love the Poison Fist of the Pacific Rim. IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: reDRagon © vs Forever Hooligans vs The Time Splitters vs The Young Bucks Comment: The match where I don't care who wins? 15 Men New Japan Rumble Match: ??? Mootinie
IWGP Heavyweight Championship Hiroshi Tanahashi © vs Kazuchika Okada Comment: If anybody is holding this belt, it should be Tana, Okada or Nak. I believe them keeping the belt on Tana was the right move in real life, Okada as the dominant champion had been done, knocking him down a peg or two was the right move. But this is a diary and writing dominant Champion Okada is something I wish I had done. IWGP Intercontinental Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura © vs Kota Ibushi Comment: I thought that Ibushi was going to win this match, I had him pegged in all my predictions but hindsight is 20-20, Nakamura being kept away from Tana is the right move because they've rivalled too much, and Nakamura being kept away from Okada is a good idea because that's a Wrestle Kingdom match, not an Invasion Attack match. Nak prevails. Special Singles Match: AJ Styles vs Tetsuya Naito Comment: FYI, Naito is one of my favourite wrestlers. I had big plans with regards how I would write him. But, he's already had too many matches with Okada, so pushing him as the next #1 Contender probably isn't the best idea. Styles vs. Okada, or Styles vs. Tanahashi is the right move. Special NOAH Match: Naomichi Marufuji vs Takashi Sugiura Comment: Big fan of Sugiura, his tag team with Masato Tanaka is all kinds of awesome. But truth be told, Marufuji is the more talented of the two. I could realistically see you doing Nakamura vs. Marufuji after this, considering there's history there. NJPW vs TNA Match: Yuji Nagata vs Kurt Angle Comment: I think these two have fought in the past. This should be a mat wrestling clinic, but I have Nagata winning because it's The Dome and he's a legend. The big win keeps him strong for potential title matches some time down the line. IWGP Tag Team Championship: Guns & Gallows © vs Meiyu Tag Comment: Guns & Gallows suck, that's all I have to say. IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Ryusuke Taguchi © vs Kenny Omega Comment: Ugh, Taguchi. Never has such a talented wrestler just come across as such a bland, uninspiring individual. Bad look, bad body, Omega steamrolls him like the star he is. NEVER Openweight Championship Tomohiro Ishii © vs Togi Makabe Comment: The title switch to Makabe was a big upset IRL and definitely should have elevated this belt. It's Ishii's belt though, just like the IC is Nakamura's. Ishii retains and you get to continue writing awesome Ishii matches. UWFI Rules: Minoru Suzuki vs Kazushi Sakuraba Comment: Suzuki is another guy just like Nagata that you should keep at a certain level. He has far more upside than Sakuraba has in that respect. One is a World title challenger, the other is a Tag title challenger at best. Eight Men Tag: Suzuki-gun vs Toru Yano, ???, ??? & ??? Comment: Fun fact: I own a Toru Yano T-Shirt. I'm a massive fan. My assumption is NOAH guys, but I could realistically see some TNA guys here or something. Either way, Yano's team wins because of Yano doing Yano things. Six Men Tag: Tencozy/Tomoaki Honma vs Bullet Club/EC3 Comment: I love EC3 in the Bizz Clizz, such a natural fit. That said, Honma. Push that man. Singles Match: Yoshitatsu vs Yujiro Takahashi Comment: Ugh, Takahashi can do one. I hate that guy. There's no damage in a Yoshitatsu win although on paper, Yujiro has more upside, I simply dislike him so much that I can't predict him winning. IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: reDRagon © vs Forever Hooligans vs The Time Splitters vs The Young Bucks Comment: reDRagon are easily the worst team in this match. Good wrestlers, but literally no charisma nor star quality, which is what flippy Juniors should be all about. I'll back the Time Splitters because KUSHIDA. 15 Men New Japan Rumble Match: Super Strong Machine Comment: I'm getting this wrong either. I'd go with the mystery man, but I have no clue who he is. No Komatsu is a surprise. Super Strong Machine is my brave pick because he's Super f*****g Strong Machine

Tigerkinney
Predictions: IWGP Heavyweight Championship Hiroshi Tanahashi © vs Kazuchika Okada Comment: I agree with what Mootinie said, that keeping the belt on Tana was the right move in real life (even though I was pulling for the Okada win). But I think you'll want to differentiate the diary from just following real life NJPW note for note, without getting too 'out there'. Lets be honest either guy holding the belt at the end of the night is not exactly a bad thing. IWGP Intercontinental Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura © vs Kota Ibushi Comment: I think this one will follow real life, as Ibushi pushes Nakamura close but comes up just short. Special Singles Match: AJ Styles vs Tetsuya Naito Comment: For pretty much the same reasons Mootinie said Special NOAH Match: Naomichi Marufuji vs Takashi Sugiura Comment: Little bit odd to have an all NOAH match on the card-Still match would pretty decent in real life. Marafuji's probably the bigger 'star' so I'll go with him. NJPW vs TNA Match: Yuji Nagata vs Kurt Angle Comment: Has TNA been forgiven and the working relationship been resurrected? I'm going to pick Angle here, as I think you'll want to build him up as a strong 'invader'- perhaps build him as a challenger for the IC belt. Nagata's a legend and all as well, but he doesn't need to beat Angle at this stage in his career. IWGP Tag Team Championship: Guns & Gallows © vs Meiyu Tag Comment:Guns & Gallows real life tag reign sucked (jury's out on reign number 2), Meiyu Tag should win the belts here and hopefully actually hold onto them IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship: Ryusuke Taguchi © vs Kenny Omega Comment: Taguchi and his bum offence can go back to curtain jerking 8 man tags with Captain New Japan and Manabu Nakanishi. NEVER Openweight Championship Tomohiro Ishii © vs Togi Makabe Comment: NEVER belt didn't really need 'elevating' in real life, it's fine as the belt for Midcarders/Rising Stars that haven't yet won the IWGP Heavyweight title. Ishii's the perfect fit for this belt (plenty of work rate in the ring but probably lacks the 'charisma' to be a fully fledged main eventer), so he should continue as champion. UWFI Rules: Minoru Suzuki vs Kazushi Sakuraba Comment: Suzuki going over was the right choice in real life and it should be the right choice here. Suzuki still has plenty of offer as a main eventer despite his advancing years and Sakuraba's a broken down ex MMA fighter who needs great opponents to carry him to a good match. Eight Men Tag: Suzuki-gun vs Toru Yano, ???, ??? & ??? Comment: Will Yano's mystery partners, be some NOAH guys like in real life....No idea. As in real life Yano and co. get the nice feel good win here. Six Men Tag: Tencozy/Tomoaki Honma vs Bullet Club/EC3 Comment: Why mess with what was a nice 'feel good' moment in real life Singles Match: Yoshitatsu vs Yujiro Takahashi Comment: Yoshitatsu looked as though he was going to receive some kind of push (not necessarily a main event one, but it looked like NJPW had plans for him), before he got his neck buggered up on a botched Styles Clash (not getting into the ins and outs of who was at fault, just stating fact) and besides Yujiro pretty much kind of sucks. IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Championship: reDRagon © vs Forever Hooligans vs The Time Splitters vs The Young Bucks Comment: I think Young Bucks winning back the belts was the right choice in real life. As much as I love Time Splitters, I actually want to see KUSHIDA and Shelley adding some more depth to the singles ranks more. 15 Men New Japan Rumble Match: ??? (New Look Komatsu) Comment: Conspiracy theory, perhaps Yohei Komatsu is not in the match, because he's ??? and will be in the match, but with a new gimmick. Perhaps Komatsu has shed the Black Trunks and his New Japan Rumble win will be the beginning of his 'push'.
WWZone
Predictions: NJPW vs TNA Match: Yuji Nagata vs Kurt Angle Comment: Has TNA been forgiven and the working relationship been resurrected? I'm using Captain C's Mod, and it had NJPW/TNA still with a working agreement. So I decided to keep them and do occasional matches between NJPW and TNA. What happened between the two in real life, I heard that TNA did something that New Japan didn't like, was it with Okada or some Championships? Mootinie
New Japan let TNA have a world title match at Wrestle Kingdom 6. Jeff Hardy was in no condition to perform and proceeded to have a terrible match with Naito. NJPW and TNA haven't worked together since. That was Wrestle Kingdom 5. But yeah, that's true. I think TNA giving British Invasion the IWGP tag titles without actually agreeing the change with NJPW probably contributed too, as well as treating Okada like a jobber and a joke. He was lined up to be a big star, and Gedo & Jado expected TNA to basically humiliate him in order to have him humble when he got back to Japan. I don't think they would send some to where they would be mistreated, that could plunge a man's momentum and popularity, I mean. I don't think W-1 expected TNA would do the same with Sanada and they did.

WWZone
I better keep this thread active just incase it gets deleted for inactivity. I am still writing matches up to the final 5 matches of the card to write, and to be honest it's starting to be a big hard to think of what to write most of the time I'm getting writer's block. But hopefully I can get the matches down soon and I'll post the show up. But to keep this topic active I might ask questions every now and then to people to see where they'd like to see this diary go. So I start things off with What wrestlers in the future would you like to see in NJPW any wrestlers that have been in New Japan in the past or anyone that hasn't that you would like to see in the promotion?
