WCW 1996: Big Changes Ahead...

Recommended Posts

Eddy Guerrero VS Jushin Thunder Liger w/Sonny Onoo

The "Asian Invasion" will complicate things for Eddy here

La Parka VS Disco Inferno

Not a fan of That 70's Guy

Fire & Ice VS Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri

The Heat is on, Brother.

Steve Doll VS Bam Bam Bigelow

Fobia VS The Mauler

Rick Steiner VS Diamond Dallas Page

Singles Star over Tag Team is a general rule, but it could be wrong here as "Dog-Face" is capable and over and DDP is sometimes on the decline... Time Decline, that is.

Lex Luger VS Earl Robert Eaton for the WCW Television Championship

Sting and Luger (or as I call them, Stuger) are too over for the Blue Bloods. However, if the British can play the Americans even and manage either a DQ or count out loss, they have a lot to gain.

Sting VS Lord Steven Regal

A loss I could see.. on PPV for The Stinger. Franchise is the DNA of WCW, really, and I think he'll get the win.

WCW Monday Nitro Week 2 June 1996 {82}

Live in front of 12,704 fans in the Richmond Coliseumnd Coliseum

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpg

Sting isn't scared of The Giant! {84}

Nitro opens with the World Champion once again in the ring with a microphone in hand. Sting soaks up the cheers from the crowd for a moment before he begins to talk.

“Giant, you think I'm scared of you? You think I'm scared that my career might end? Do you realize how many guys were standing in your spot claiming to be coming to end my career? Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Vader, Ron Simmons, Barry Windham...all of them threatened me with the same threats you have hurled my way. However, the difference between those guys and you Giant, those guys could actually wrestle and posed a threat to me! You, you're just a big brute who relies on your size to win matches but as we all seen at Mayhem that size means nothing to the Stinger! Our rematch will end just like the previous match, with Sting walking out of the PPV WCW World Heavyweight Champion!”

Eddy Guerrero defeated Jushin Thunder Liger w/Sonny Onoo {81}

This was everything the fans expected out of a WCW cruiserweight match. Between the high flying, quick reversals, and near falls the audience almost didn't have a chance to breath. Eddy won this one after a botched Sonny Onoo interference left Liger on the mat and open to a Frog Splash.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EddieGuerrero.jpg

I'm the King of Lucha Libre! {47}

After the match Eddy called for a microphone and began to cut a promo on his opponent for The Great American Bash, Rey Misterio.

“Rey, you may be the King of Mystery but in WCW Eddy Guerrero is the King of Lucha Libre! I went through two tournaments, six men total, just to win this title so there is no way a single little Mexican jumping bean is going to take it away from me. This is my title holmes and it will stay mine until someone can pry it from my cold dead hands!”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DiscoInferno.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LaParka.jpg

Disco Inferno defeated La Parka {38}

Disco came out to no music wearing street clothes and not the dance outfit we are accustomed to seeing him wrestle in. La Parka put up quite the fight but he was no match for this new focused and clearly angry Disco Inferno. The finish came when Disco nailed La Parka with a Chart Buster before making the pin.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HulkHogan.jpg

Hulkamania running wild! {78}

The camera started rolling a few minutes early on this one and we saw Hogan walk past several workers before shaking hands with a clearly estatic Fobia. Hogan then walked through the curtains into an arena with cheering Hulkamaniacs. He made his way to the ring and grabbed a microphone.

“Kevin Sullivan you talk about ending Hulkamania by destroying me, but you're a bigger moron than I give you credit for if you think Hulkamania ends with me. You see, Hulkamania flows through the veins of every wrestling fan who cheers for their favorite hero. Hulkamania lives in the hearts and minds of every young wrestler in the back who comes out here and gives it his all without every cutting corners or taking cheap shots to victory. Hulkamania is in every fiber of every man, woman, and child who does the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do! So even if you were somehow able to end my career brother, you could never kill Hulkamania because it is already running wild! So Kevin, whatcha gonna do brother, when Hulkamania runs wild on you and your Cult of Immortality?”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/StevieRay.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BookerT.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SisterSherri.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ScottNorton.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/IceTrain.jpg

Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri defeated Fire & Ice {71}

This was a hard hitting match that showed everyone just why Harlem Heat are the number one contenders to the tag team belts. Despite the fact they lost Fire & Ice did look like they could become serious threats some time down the road with the right management. The finish came when Booker T landed a Harlem Hangover on Scott Norton before making the pin.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Konnan.jpg

You're going down holmes! {73}

The cameras shifted to the back area were we see Konnan standing in front of a brick wall. Konnan looks at the camera and starts to speak to one man in particular.

“Dallas Page, you piece of white trailer park trash! Did you think our business was finished? Did you think you and that two dollar gutter skank could screw me over and get away with it? No holmes, that aint how its going down essai. You see, in the streets when something like that happens, you get payback. And payback is exactly what you got coming to you and your Diamond blow up Doll. At the Great American Bash, me and you are going to settle things like we do in L. A. holmes and have ourselves a California Street Fight! The referee's only going to have three jobs holmes, making sure you show up with my belt, declaring me the winner, and making sure I don't catch a case for killing your punk a**! This just got real Dallas, I hope you can handle it.”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BamBamBigelow.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SteveDoll.jpg

Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Steve Doll {55}

In a typical squash match Bam Bam destroyed Steve Doll. Doll got no offense in as Bam Bam manhandled him from bell to bell, only stopping to make a pin after a Greetings From Asbury Park.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RicFlair.jpg

I'm still the man and you're not! {94}

Ric Flair walks out to the ring with a microphone in hand and a smile on his face. The crowd is a mix of cheers and boos as the legendary Nature Boy begins to speak.

“Paul Orndorff, you just don't know when to quit do you? I beat you fair and square in the center of the ring and you want another piece of me? {the crowd chants “one more match”} Not only that, you think that things might be different next time! The only thing that will be different if we wrestle again is the fact that when I slap on the Figure Four Leg Lock I'll snap your legs in half! Now, the Macho Man is still at home trying to fix that bruised ego of his so I'll tell you what, if you want to go one on one with Ric Flair one more time then let's do it! {huge pop from the crowd} Ric Flair and Paul Orndorff at the Great American Bash, one more time because if Ric Flair does anything its that he gives the fans what they want to see! Wooooooo!”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Fobia.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/TheMauler.jpg

Fobia defeated The Mauler {37}

The newcomer Fobia used his speed and uncanny strength to take the veteran Mauler down with relative ease. The announcers noting that he reminds them of a young Sterling Golden.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/TheGiant.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JimmyHart.jpg

Size is all I need! {84}

After another commercial break The Giant is in the ring with Jimmy Hart who is holding a microphone. Jimmy holds the mic up to the Giant who begins to speak

“Sting, you say all I have is size. You say I only win matches due to my large, almost freakish size. You say that my size is the only reason I work here in WCW! Well, size is all I need Sting! I don't need to learn fancy reversals, technical skills, or even how to escape holds because my size is all I need to take chumps like you out. Last time we met you won because I tried to fight your way, but at the Great American Bash I am going to use the one thing I have that no one can replicate....my size!”

Jimmy puts the mic toward his face and he begins to speak...

“You hear that Sting, you're going to suffer like all the rest who have gone against my Giant. Jimmy Hart and his First Family want that World Title back Sting and we are going to do whatever it takes to get it back!”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DDP.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DiamondDoll.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RickSteiner.jpg

Diamond Dallas Page w/Diamond Doll defeated Rick Steiner {71}

This was another hard hitting match as Rick and Dallas turned it into more of a slug fest than a wrestling match. As usual the Diamond Doll used her “assets” to distract Dallas' opponent leading to a Diamond Cutter and a pinfall.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ArnAnderson.jpg

We're going back to basics, Horsemen basics! {78}

After the commercial break Arn Anderson is standing in the ring with a microphone in hand and a scowl on his face. He begins to talk in typical Arn fashion...

“Lex Luger, I owe you a bit of an apology. No, not for cleaning your clock at WCW Saturday Night. No, I owe you an apology because you are not the biggest failure in Horsemen history. No, that shame belongs to Chris Benoit! Chris, you are a disgrace to the Four Horsemen and as far as I'm concerned you were never truly one of us anyway. Now, the beating me and Ric put on you last week was our way of letting you know that these four fingers {Arn holds up the Four Horsemen sign} are no longer yours to represent. Dean, you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time so I suggest you stay out of this and be glad me and Ric let you walk away with just a few bruises. After all, it is just as much your fault as it is Chris' that you two could not win a tag match to save your lives. Now then, with that said let me remind you of something Lex Luger. That WCW World Television Title around your waist is only there until me and Ric decide on who we want to have it. You see, the Horsemen are holding open auditions for the two vacant positions we got and anyone holding a title gets to cut to the front of the line. Now then, Ric has said it but allow me to remind you all...The Four Horsemen are the elite in WCW and the wrestling world in general. Nothing will stop us from coming out here and proving it week after week so get used to seeing my face on your TV screen.”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LexLuger.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/VS.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EarlRobertEaton.jpg

Lex Luger drew with Earl Robert Eaton {86}

Before the match started the announcers speculated that a win for Eaton could mean a new Horsemen just minutes after Arn opened up the auditions. The match itself started out as a back and forth contest but soon broke down to a messy brawl when Lord Steven Regal got involved. Sting wasted no time in coming to Lex's aid and the referee was forced to call for the double DQ. The crowd was verbally upset by this non-match and soon Jim Cornette was out to make a tag match between the four men in the ring.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LexLuger.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LordStevenRegal.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EarlRobertEaton.jpg

Sting & Luger defeated The Blue Bloods {86}

This was a typical tag match with Sting getting a hot tag right at the halfway mark. Lex looked sluggish as the constant championship matches have him all but completely worn out. The finish of the match came when Sting was able to lock Eaton in a Scorpion Deathlock for the submission victory.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/TheGiant.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Meng.jpg

All out assault! {87}

After the match The Giant and Meng ran out to the ring and attacked Lex and Sting. The assault was fast and brutal with the tag champions left lying out cold in the middle of the ring. To add insult to injury the tag belts were placed on top of their fallen bodies by Jimmy Hart.

WCW Saturday Night Week 2 June 1996 {76}

Live in front of 2,500 fans(SOLD OUT) in the Hammerstein Ballroom

Jushin Liger w/Sonny Onoo defeated Billy Kidman and La Parka in a triple threat match {59}

This was a fast paced match that saw all three men in the ring at the same time. The fans seemed to enjoy the unusual element of a third man and the announcers played up the difficulty in pinning an opponent with another wrestler in the ring trying to stop you. The finish came when Billy Kidman landed a Shooting Star Press on La Parka but then falling victim to a Liger Bomb and getting pinned.

Fobia defeated Hugh Morrus w/Jimmy Hart {51}

Once again Fobia demonstrated unusual strength for a man his size and completely man handled Hugh. If it wasn't for the constant distraction from Jimmy Hart this would have ended up as a squash match. Fobia finished Hugh off with his Face Your Fears {Iron Claw Slam} before making the pin.

High Voltage defeated Men At Work w/Lanny Poffo {26}

High Voltage used their size to run right over Men At Work, much to the dismay of Lanny Poffo. The finish of the match was a unique tag powerbomb move, the Voltage Crash, that saw Mark Starr and Chris Kanyon power bombed into each other before both men were pinned.

Lex Luger and Sting are in the locker room area discussing the assault they suffered on Monday Nitro. Lex says he is going to give Meng some payback tonight and at the PPV Sting can break The Giant's legs with a Scorpion Deathlock! Sting tell Lex that Sting will be watching his back in case Jimmy Hart's First Family or Arn Anderson tries to get involved. The segment ends with Sting telling Luger they need to make a decision about keeping the tag titles before next Monday. {92}

Sabu defeated Steve Doll {66}

The homicidal, suicidal, genocidal mad man Sabu once again pulled out all the stops and hurt himself almost as much as he hurt Steve Doll in this match. The finish came when Sabu landed a Moonsault on the back of Doll before making Doll submit to a Camel Clutch.

Fire & Ice defeated Public Enemy {60}

This was a brutal match with a ton of brawling and absolutely no scientific wrestling at all. The finish came when Ice Train landed a Train Wreck{spear} on Johnny Grunge before making the pin.

Nuke defeated Bunkhouse Buck w/Col. Parker {47}

Nuke completely destroyed Buck in under 4 minutes. In fact the announcers noted that the entrances for the wrestlers was longer than the match itself. Nuke landed a Fall Out{Oklahoma Stampede} before making the pin in this squash match.

Teddy Long came out with Maj. Pittman and Bobby Walker and told the fans that he “was going to make them into tag champions....believe that playa! And it all starts tonight in their first match as a tag team.” {24}

Maj. Pittman and Bobby Walker w/Teddy Long defeated The Texas Hangmen {26}

The masked Texas Hangmen made their WCW debut in this losing effort. Walker and Pittman seemed to be working like a well oiled machine tonight and all credit was given to Teddy Long by the announcers. The match ended with little bang as Walker simply rolled up Hangman #1 for the win.

Dusty came out with Frost and hyped his protege as “the next Cruiserweight Champion baby! You see, this cat is so chill that he's named Frost baby and he really leaves his opponents out cold, ya dig?”

Frost w/Dusty Rhodes defeated The Mauler {38}

Frost nearly decrapitated The Mauler with a Crionic Kick mere moments after the bell, securing the victory and the award for shortest match in WCW history.

Paul Orndorff defeated The Disco Inferno {68}

Once again Disco came out to no music and dressed in street clothes. Disco really took the fight to Paul in this match and it seemed like he could get the upset several times in this bout. The finish came when Paul Orndorff hit his Piledriver and made the pin on the downed Disco.

After the match Alex Wright came into the ring and got right in Disco's face and danced around the ring until Disco could take it no longer and began to wail on Alex. The referee and two security guards had to pull the enraged Disco off of Wright. {48}

Lex Luger defeated Meng w/Jimmy Hart to retain the WCW World Television Championship {80}

The announcers noted that Arn and Ric as well as the rest of the First Family were all barred from ringside during and after this match so we would not have another assault on the TV champion. Meng almost got the win several times but after Jimmy Hart got tossed out of the arena by the referee things went downhill for the Samoan savage. Luger was able to eventually hook on a Torture Rack of Doom and pick up the win, making it his 13th successful title defense since Jim Cornette took over WCW.

Just a quick update, although the show is coming along nicely and the PPV is booked and played. A few "incidents" had me re-write a few storylines on the fly so be prepared for a less than stellar PPV this month, although there are a few surprises.

Now the real reason for this is to ask if anyone wants WWF, ECW, etc. updates during this dynasty or should I keep it strictly to WCW as if this was the only wrestling program you watched?

Updates on the WWF or ECW wouldn't be a bad thing, depending on how you would write them up. It's all just for immersion factor, so not necessary though. I'm glad you bumped this, because I completely forgot to predict otherwise :p

The Road Warriors VS Public Enemy

This isn't ECW, so TPE don't stand a chance.

Eddy Guerrero VS Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne is basically just debuted into the world, so he should be losing mostly as he builds up.

“American Renegade” Rick Williams w/Madusa VS Sabu

USA! USA!

The Steiner Brothers VS The Canadian Thrill Seekers

Should be a damn good match!

The Nasty Boys VS Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri

The Heat only get hotter.

Steve McMichael w/Debra McMichael VS Diamond Dallas Page w/Diamond Doll

Page seems to be going somewhere better.

Lex Luger© VS Bam Bam Bigelow for the TV Title

Bammer would handle the TV title pretty well.

Hulk Hogan and Sting VS Big Bubba and V. K. Wallstreet

There were Super Powers, then Mega Powers... does that make Hogan and Sting the Ultra Powers?

<span style="color:#808080;"><strong>A new power rises!</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {86}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>WCW Monday Nitro opens up with Hulk Hogan standing in the ring with a mic in hand. After a few minutes of the Hulkster playing up to the cheering crowd he gets down to business and begins to speak.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Kevin Sullivan, we are you hiding? Where is the Cult of Immortality you promised would make my life a living hell? I doubt that they even exist or that you have any intentions of coming after Hulkamania again. You see, that is what separates Hulkamania and all the other forces in nature. You see brother, all the other forces bend to the might of Hulkamania and I think you finally realized it that is why you are nowhere to be found! Now, tonight Sting and I have a tag team match in this very ring so I won't be hard to find Kevin...I hope you make the mistake and coming looking for me. Now then, Big Bubba and V. K. Wallstreet....the world has seen Super Powers....they have seen Mega Powers...but tonight you two will be the first to feel the effects of coming up against the combined might of Hulkamania and Sting Fever....the Ultra powers! So whatcha gonna do brothers when The Ultra Powers run wild on you?”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RoadWarriorHawk.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RoadWarriorAnimal.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RoccoRock.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JohnnyGrunge.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>The Road Warriors defeated Public Enemy</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {74}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

This was a hard hitting match with plenty of brawling. Things spilled to the outside several times during this match and it almost seemed like it would end in a double count out at least twice. The finish came when Rocco Rock was nailed with a Doomsday Device before getting pinned.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EddieGuerrero.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Let's see that ugly mug!</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {74}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>Eddy Guerrero came out to the ring for his match with a mic in hand and a sly smile on his face. Eddy quiets the crowd before speaking.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Rey, it seems like I may have underestimated you. It seems that you have waged your mask at least 16 times and walke away with it still covering your ugly mug each and every time. Well, I think the fans have waited long enough to see what you look like so I am going to promise that at The Great American Bash I will defeat you and show everyone just how stupid you look!”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EddieGuerrero.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DwayneJohnson.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Eddy Guerrero defeated Dwayne Johnson</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {74}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

In a completely one sided match, Eddy took the newcomer to school. Dwayne looked lost as he tried to keep up with the speed and skill of Eddy. The announcers did note that Dwayne was a third generation wrestler but they didn't elaborate further before he was beaten by a Frog Splash.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/TheGiant.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JimmyHart.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Last week was just a sample!</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {80}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After a quick commercial break we get a prerecorded video from The Giant and Jimmy Hart.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Sting! Do you think I care about a 2 week suspension? I could care less because I know that assault me and Meng pulled off last week has to be weighing on your mind and body. I know that despite what you say and do, there is no way you will be a hundred percent at The Great American Bash. Then, I will once again be the WCW Champion and no one will be able to take the title back from me.”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Yeah baby! Sting, the Giant may not be able to show up to a WCW arena until The Great American Bash but guess what? I can baby! Not only that, but the rest of the First Family can too! So, there will be no place you can run or hide from us baby. We are getting that title back and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do to stop us! Ha, ha, ha.”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sabu.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Renegade.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Madusa.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Sabu defeated “American Renegade” Rick Williams w/Madusa</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {64}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

In typical Sabu fashion the madman pulled off all the stops, but the strength of Rick Williams was too much for him to handle. It looked like Rick had this one in the bag but Sonny Onoo came down to the ring and distracted the referee. As Sonny kept the referee's attention Super J ran out from the crowd and slid into the ring nailing Rick Williams with a J-Bomb{Cobra Clutch Bomb} allowing Sabu to make the pin and get the win.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RicFlair.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>I hope you're getting ready....</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {88}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After yet another commercial break we come back to WCW Nitro with Ric Flair in the ring, mic in hand.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Paul Orndorff, it seems like you are not as dumb as you look. You see fans, unlike the rest of the idiots in the WCW locker room who get involved in Horsemen business Paul is smart enough to stay at home until our match. Paul is smart enough to know that when you challenge Ric Flair you put a target on your back. When you challenge the Nature Boy....Woo! You make yourself public enemy number one for the Horsemen. Now, let me be very clear Orndorff, you have no chance against Ric Flair. I proved it last time we fought and no one, not even you can deny that fact. However, while you are at home I hope you are getting ready for our rematch because I would hate to beat you even quicker this time. No, I want a challenge Paul because after I beat you then I am going after the one thing that I don't have...the WCW World Championship! Wooooo!”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RickSteiner.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ScottSteiner.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LanceStorm.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ChrisJericho.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>The Steiner Brothers defeated The Canadian Thrillseekers</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {72}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

This was a back and forth match with the Canadian Thrillseekers using their speed to keep the more experienced Steiner Brothers off their game. The young team got a lot of praise from the announcers but it was short lived as Rick Steiner landed a huge spine buster on Lance Storm knocking the youngster out cold. The referee called for the bell as EMTs ran down to the ring and a frustrated Chris Jericho threw a small fit at ringside.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BookerT.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/StevieRay.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SisterSherri.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BrianKnobbs.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JerrySags.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri defeated The Nasty Boys</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {69}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

This was a hard hitting brawl of a match with both teams doing a lot more brawling than wrestling. The announcers played up the fact that Harlem Heat were the number one contenders due to being able to fight both scientifically as well as straight out brawling. The match ended with Stevie Ray landing a 110th Street Slam on Jerry Sags before making the pin.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ArnAnderson.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>What it takes to be a Horsemen.</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {73}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After another commercial break we come back to WCW Nitro to see Arn Anderson in the ring with a mic in hand and a smile on his face.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Now, before this ring fills up with Four Horsemen wannabes let me remind those people that coming out here would not be something a Horsemen would do. With that said, allow me to address the thousands of hopefuls who have sent me and Ric letters, cards, video tapes, called our phones, and come to our homes. When I said the Four Horsemen were holding open auditions I didn't mean for any of you to come looking for us, what I meant was we were going to be watching you. Me and Ric are going to watch every match, every promo, every appearance by every and any wrestler out there and we will find two that not only understand what it means to be a Horsemen but can carry our legacy well into the future after me and Ric have retired. As for what we are looking for exactly, well let me say this. We are not looking for guys who never lived up to there potential like Lex Luger. Lex, don't forget that TV title is only on your waist as long as I allow it to be. We are also not looking for guys who claim to be something they are not like Chris Benoit. We want guys who are championship material, guys who understand what it means to be four wrestlers acting individually and thinking collectively. The Four Horsemen are not just four finger waving yahoos, they are four men who are the best in this sport and they allow no one and nothing to ever get in the way of their goals.”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DDP.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DiamondDoll.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SteveMcMichael.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DebraMcMichael.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Diamond Dallas Page w/Diamond Doll defeated Steve McMichael w/Debra McMichael</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {68}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

This was a typical back and forth match with each worker giving it their all. Steve McMichael seems to have improved his wrestling ability which the announcers were quick to point out. Despite improving his wrestling skill, Steve fell victim to a Diamond Cutter and was quickly pinned. </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DDP.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/DiamondDoll.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>I can handle it!</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {65}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After the match Diamond Dallas Page grabs a nearby mic and gets back into the ring.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Konnan, you think I'm scared to face you in a street fight? Heck, I've been fighting in alleys behind bars all my life. The one who has to be scare is you because when you toss out the rules, you put DDP right at home monkey boy! Not only will I walk out of The Great American Bash as the US Champion, but I will end your career! You say things got real, well I hope you are ready to see just how real it gets.”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LexLuger.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BamBamBigelow.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Lex Luger defeated Bam Bam Bigelow to retain the TV Title</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {83}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

Lex came out looking very tired and Bam Bam attacked him right before the bell. Things looked bad for Lex as he was constantly on the defensive to the aggressive and hard hitting attacks of Bam Bam. Just when it looked like Lex would end up defeated Arn Anderson came down to the ring and nailed Lex with a lariat to the shock of the announcers and Bam Bam. Arn quickly rolled out of the ring and headed to the back as the referee called for the DQ win going to Lex Luger.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LexLuger.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After the match Sting came out to the ring with a mic and joined Lex Luger. Sting looked a bit upset as he began to speak.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Lex, you're killing yourself to hold on to the TV Championship. Do you really think it's a good idea to keep the tag belts? I say we vacat the tag belts, and focus on our single titles!”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>Lex grabbed the mic from Sting.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“You're damn right Sting! I earned both these titles and there is no way I am giving either of them up!”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After Lex finishes his words Jim Cornette comes walking out to the entrance ramp.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Lex, Sting, it seems like you both have made your decisions. Now we have a main event to get to so let me tell you what is going to happen, Sting is no longer one half of the tag team champions and Lex Luger will defend the tag belts at The Great American Bash with a wrestler of his choice. All I ask is that the wrestler not be scheduled in a match at the PPV, the wrestler must not be on suspension, and the wrestler must be under contract with WCW.”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HulkHogan.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/VKWallstreet.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BigBubba.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>The Ultra Powers defeated V. K. Wallstreet and Big Bubba</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {82}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

In a typical one sided match, Hulk Hogan and Sting dominated the match. The announcers were not wondering if Wallstreet and Bubba could actually win but if anyone would come out and attack the Ultra Powers. No one came out and Hogan ended the match with a leg drop and no incident.</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/KevinSullivan.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HulkHogan.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><strong>Behold, The Hell's Missionaries!</strong></span><span style="color:#808080;"> {80}</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>After the match the arena goes black and the Turner-tron lights up with Kevin Sullivan appearing on it.</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

“Hogan, you asked me where I was? You asked me where the Cult of Immortality is? Here is your answer, Behold the Hell's Missionaries!”</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HellsMissionary.jpg</span><span>http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HellsMissionary.jpg</span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

</span><span style="color:#808080;"><em>The lights in the arena return and we see two black cloaked and black masked men in the ring behind Hogan and Sting. The two men quickly assault The Ultra Powers with clubbing blows. The larger masked man grabs Sting and lands a huge power bomb that knocks the wind out of Sting. Hogan for his part receives a massive DDT. The two Hell's Missionaries pick up the Ultra Powers and whip them into opposing corners before Irish whippin them at each other. Sting and Hogan collide in the center of the ring and both cloaked men lift there left arm in the air moments before unleashing a double lariat that smashes the Ultra Powers into one another, knocking Hogan and Sting out cold. WCW Nitro ends with a shot of the fallen Ultra Powers as the arena goes dark once more...</em></span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#808080;">

<em>Before his match The Barbarian came out with Jimmy Hart. Jimmy claims that The Barbarian is the baddest man in WCW and he will prove it tonight when he destroys Mr. J. L.</em> {73}</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Barbarian w/Jimmy Hart defeated Mr. J. L.</strong> {44}</p><p>

Yet another squash match as The Barbarian crushed Mr. J. L. in minutes.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>WCW Saturday cuts to a pretaped message from Siter Sherri and Harlem Heat. Sherri lets the worl know that it doesn't matter who Lex picks as his partner because Harlem Heat is going to be the next WCW Tag Team Champions!</em> {68}</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Benoit and Malenko w/Woman defeated The Nasty Boys</strong> {81}</p><p>

In a back and forth match, Benoit and Malenko used their superior wrestling skills to keep the Nasty Boys off their game. The finish came when Dean put Jerry Sags in a Texas Cloverleaf and Sags tapped out.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Before his match Disco Inferno came out and let the world know he no longer feels he can use the name Disco Inferno since he isn't allowed to dance. From now on he will compete under the name Glenn Gilberti and despite what Alex thinks....Glenn was always the better dancer!</em> {46}</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Glenn Gilberti defeated Jim Duggan w/Madusa</strong> {62}</p><p>

Glenn showed a much more aggressive style as he took the fight right to Duggan. The power of Duggan allowed him to hold his own, but eventually he succumbed to the ferocity of Glenn's attacks and went down to a Chart Buster.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>In a prerecorded message The Road Warriors tell the world that they are done being nice guys. The swear they will become WCW Tag Champions and there isn't a team alive that can stop them!</em> {67}</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Road Warriors defeated Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater w/Col. Parker</strong> {76}</p><p>

Another squash match as The Road Warriors ran over Buck and Slater. The finish was a Doomsday Device on Buck before Hawk made the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lex Luger defeated Jushin Liger w/Sonny Onoo to retain the WCW TV Title</strong> {78}</p><p>

Lex was looking tired once again but Liger was still not able to deal with the power of Lex. Sonny Onoo tried to have The Asian Invasion interfere but Rick Williams, Jim Duggan, and The Border Patrol came out to put a stop to that. The finish came when Lex caught a leaping Liger and then put him in a Torture Rack of Doom causing the submission.</p><p> </p><p>

WCW Monday Nitro Week 4 June 1996 {82}

Live in front of 14,568 fans in the Orlando Arena

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HulkHogan.jpg

You fired the first shot.... {80}

Once again WCW Monday Nitro opens up with Hulk Hogan in the ring. Hogan doesn't look happy and he skips all the playing to the crowd he is known for.

“Kevin Sullivan, you think your so smart don't you? You think that little sneak attack last week would put an end to Hulkamania, yet here I stand. Maybe a little worse for wear but itching for some payback. Now, I know Sting would love to get his hands on you and your two henchmen just as much as I would, but he has a match already booked for The Great American Bash. So since that leaves me to handle doling out the justice I'll tell you what I'm going to do Kevin. I know there is a youngster in the back who has Hulkamania flowing through his veins almost as much as I do. A youngster who not only grew up saying his prayers, taking his vitamins, and training his body, but he also believed in himself and followed his dream to become a wrestler like the Hulkster. The worker I speak of may be a little green, but as we have seen in the past few weeks he can get the job done brother. With Fobia as my partner we will destroy your Hell's Missionaries and unmask the cowards as the losers that they are. So Kevin, whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania and Fobia run wild on your Hell's Missionaries?”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/EddieGuerrero.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ChrisBenoit.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Woman.jpg

Eddy Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit w/Woman {82}

In a fast paced match, Eddy and Benoit gave their all to the delight of the crowd. Things were back and forth for quite some time but as expected Arn Anderson showed up and distracted Benoit. Chris took his eyes off of Eddy for a split second and ended up getting nailed with a DDT followed by a Frog Splash before getting pinned. Arn Anderson walked away looking pleased with himself as Benoit shot a look of anger at him.

Unfinished business {74}

The cameras catch up with Arn Anderson in the back. Arn sees the camera and calls Ric Flair over.

“Benoit, what happened out there tonight was just more proof that you never deserved to be in the Four Horsemen. You see, a Horsemen wouldn't let anything distract them from their goal. Horsemen make a goal and do everything they could to achieve it. A perfect example is my goal of correcting the mistakes the Horsemen have made in the past, and as you have seen I won't let anything stand in my way. Now, at the Great American Bash you and me are going to step into the ring and I will take you to the wood shed just like your daddy should have done a long time ago. With that said, Lex don't think for one second I'm too busy to correct the mistake that is you. That Television Title you hold was once held by Tully Blanchard a true legend in this sport and one of the greatest wrestler to ever be a Horsemen, the fact that you hold that title is a shame and a disgrace. I'll be damned if you hold that thing one week longer! Sting, you were also a Horsemen and we all know how that turned out, but tonight I will beat you so bad you will wish you never heard of the Four Horsemen.”

“Woo. Chris Benoit, Lex Luger you are both lucky that I have to face that old fool Paul Orndorff because if I was the one getting into the ring with either of you, then whoever I faced wouldn't be walking out of the match due to having your legs broken in two from a figure four leglock. Now Dean, I know you want to help your friend, but if you get into involved then me and Arn will take you out quicker than you can say I screwed up. Wooo! The Horsemen are riding again and this time we will not stop until we are on top of the wrestling world once again.”

The Faces of Fear w/Jimmy Hart defeated The Nasty Boys {77}

In a hard hitting, physical contest the Faces of Fear and The Nasty Boys brawled from the opening bell until the finish of the match. Barbarian was the one to pick up the win in this match after catching Jerry Sags with a Kick of Fear before making a pin.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SuperJ.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SonnyOnoo.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JoeyMaggs.jpg

Super J w/Sonny Onoo defeated Joey Maggs {38}

In a one sided match, Super J dominated Joey Maggs for several minutes before mercifully ending things with an American Destroyer(double arm DDT). During the match the announcers compared Sonny Onoo and the Asian Invasion to cockroaches that you just can't seem to exterminate.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/PaulOrndorff.jpg

This time it will be different {91}

After a commercial break we cut to a pre-taped video of Paul Orndorff in a gymnassium. Paul in standing inside a practice ring leaning on the ropes smiling as he begins to talk.

“Ric Flair, you must be getting forgetful in your old age because you seem to have forgotten that I am the guy who had his arm paralyzed to the point that doctors told him he wouldn't be able to wrestle ever again, yet through my own will and determination came back stronger than ever. You seem to forget that you personally tried to recruit me into the Horsemen and me turning you down. You see Ric, I am one of the elite in this sport, but unlike some of the guys in the locker room I don't accept defeat and move on! I go into the gym, I train, I push my body to new limits and when I get my rematch I cripple my opponent! You better hope that dye you put in your hair is bullet proof because that will be the only way to save yourself from brain damage after I smash your skull into the mat with a piledriver!”

As the scene fades to black we see several young wrestlers slumped over in the corner of the gym rubbing their necks and heads in pain.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Fobia.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Shark.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JimmyHart.jpg

Fobia defeated Shark w/Jimmy Hart {42}

Fobia came out to a surprisingly huge response as the crowd clearly is behind the man Hulk Hogan has chosen to be his tag team partner. The match was surprisingly one sided as Shark was overwhelmed by the strength of Fobia until he was finally put down with the Face Your Fears{Iron Claw Slam}. Fobia did a typical Hulk Hogan pose after the referee raised his hand in victor to the delight of the fans.

Smokey Mountain Wrestling returns! {82}

After a commercial break Jim Cornette is in the ring with a huge grin on his face.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce the return of Smokey Mountain Wrestling! The greatest regional wrestling company to ever air matches from the Kentucky area is now the developmental company for WCW. Anyone in Louisville feel free to come on out and see the future stars of WCW as they learn their craft and face off with some of the greats from yesteryear. Anyone who is in doubt of what kind of action SMW will be able to provide should know that Cowboy Bill Watts is the man in charge of SMW and he has authorized me to let all of you know that in one week SMW will crown both a North American Champion as well as US Tag Team Champions! So come on out and see all the action SMW has to offer and be sure to keep an eye out for the future stars of WCW.”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BuddyLee.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/JamesEarl.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HangmanOne.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/HangmanTwo.jpg

The Border Patrol defeated The Hangmen {45}

This was a back and forth match that saw plenty of near falls. The Texas Hangmen tried to pull a switch but they were caught by referee Nick Patrick and scolded, allowing Sgt. Buddy Lee to tag in the fresh Lt. James Earl who cleared the ring and was able to pin one of the Hangmen with a roll up. During the match Col. Parker came out to the entrance ramp and the announcers wondered which team he was scouting and why.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/KevinSullivan.jpg

Challenge accepted! {81}

After another commercial break Kevin Sullivan and the mysterious Hell's Missionaries were inside the ring. The crowd booed them loudly but none of them seemed bothered by this fact.

“Hogan, you want to face my Hell's Missionaries with a rookie by your side? You must be stupider than even I believed. My Hell's Missionaries gladly accept your challenge and I promise you that your choice of partners will not only be your downfall but it will be the reason Hulkamania dies! Sunday will be the last time these people chant your name because their eyes will be open to the truth! They will know that no matter how much you train, take vitamins, or say prayers none of that matters when going face to face with pure evil!

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BamBamBigelow.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Renegade.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Madusa.jpg

Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Rick Williams w/Madusa {66}

This was a back and forth match with both men showing a surprising amount of agility and power. Rick Williams appeared to be in control of things when Sonny Onoo came out and got on the ring apron. Madusa confronted Onoo but the distraction allowed Super J to come out and nail Williams with an American Destroyer as Bam Bam blocked the interference from the referee's view. After Super J left the ring Bam Bam made the pin and picked up the win. The announcers noted that despite allowing Super J to assist him in his match, Bam Bam probably didn't need any help putting Williams away.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/StevieRay.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/BookerT.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/SisterSherri.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/RickSteiner.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ScottSteiner.jpg

Harlem Heat w/Sister Sherri defeated The Steiner Brothers {82}

Another classic back and forth match with The Steiner Brothers fighting from underneath the entire bout. Scott seemed upset with the fact that Rick was getting beat so badly by Booker T and Stevie Ray that he almost refused the hot tag. This allowed Booker to regroup and catch Scott with a Scissor Kick to the back of the head. Stevie Ray followed things up with a Slap Jack{spine buster} before getting the pin.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/GeneOkerlund.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/GlennGilberti.jpg

I will be the next TV Champion! {50}

After another commercial break WCW Nitro returns with Mean Gene Okerlund in the back with Glenn Gilberti. Gene looks a bit nervous as he begins to question the former Disco Inferno.

“So Disco...”

“The name is Glenn Gilberti.”

“okay then, Glenn are you nervous being just minutes away fom facing Lex Luger for the WCW World Television Championship?

“You know Gene, guys like me, winners are never nervous before a big match because we have already done everything in our power to ensure victory. So no, I'm not nervous Gene. Not one bit.”

“Well then, are you worried that Arn Anderson or Ric Flair might get involved in this contest and cost you the match in order to have Lex keep the belt until a Horsemen can get it back?”

“If Arn or Ric interfere in my match and I walk out without the TV Championship in my hands then I'll gladly team up with Lex Luger and kick both their heads in at The Great American Bash! Now if you excuse me I have a match to ge to and a championship to win.”

“There you have it folks, a very confident Glenn Gilberti is heading down to the ring and hoping to make the WCW television his own.”

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/GlennGilberti.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/LexLuger.jpg

Glenn Gilberti defeated Lex Luger to become the new WCW Television Champion {76}

In what must be considered a shoe in for Upset of the Year, Glenn Gilberti defeated an exhausted Lex Luger. Luger put up a huge fight, but every time it looked like he would win the match Arn Anderson and Ric Flair distracted the referee, giving Glenn a chance to get back into the match. The finish came when Lex Luger tried to get Glenn in a Torture Rack of Doom but Ric Flair jumped on the ring apron and knocked out the referee, forcing Luger to drop Glenn and deal with Ric. A second referee came out too late however and Lex fell victim to a chair shot from Arn Anderson before getting nailed with a Chart Buster and getting pinned when the second referee was forced to make the count. Sting did manage to come out and chase off Ric Flair before turning his attention to Arn Anderson starting their match.

http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Sting.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/Defeated.jpghttp://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/p785/TonyTheGamerDad/WCW%20Corny/ArnAnderson.jpg

In a back and forth match Sting managed to defeat Arn Anderson after several near falls. Lex Luger was able to gain some measure of revenge on Anderson when he slammed the WCW World Title across Arn's back post match. During the match the announcers questioned if Glenn was now a Horsemen or if Arn and Ric were using him as a pawn in their grand plan. WCW Nitro ending with Sting and Luger standing tall in the ring as Lex clutched his tag title and Sting held the World Champions on his shoulder.
