Month in Review

2kNikk

April 2015 was a big month for the world of Sports Entertainment, starting with the huge deal being announced at the beginning of the month by Triple H. Standing with NJPW booker Gedo, ROH booker and worker Delirious and former WWE employee and current day TNA booker John Gaburick the WWE COO announced that the WWE had worked an agreement to show these companies libraries on the award winning WWE Network for just $9.99. The WWE Universe was abuzz with possibilities, but so far no additional agreements have been made between these companies.

While this huge announcement was surely the biggest piece of news of 2015 so far, April was no slouch of a month in other news as well. We saw the build-up for Extreme Rules derailed by a Randy Orton suspension, leading to the GOAT Daniel Bryan stepping in and challenging new champion Seth Rollins. Although unsuccessful in capturing the WWE Championship, it seems this feud is far from over as the champ had a great amount of aid from Authority running mate Kane.

Extreme Rules Results

Harper and Ambrose brawl out into the streets of Chicago – 59

Dolph Ziggler over Sheamus in a Kiss Me Arse match – 67

The New Day over the Uppercats to win the WWE Tag Team Titles – 54

Dean Ambrose (finally) over Luke Harper – 60

John Cena over Rusev in a Russian Chain Match – 73

Nikki Bella over Naomi to retain the Divas Championship – 30

Roman Reigns over Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match – 81

Seth Rollins over Daniel Bryan in a Cage Match where the RKO is banned to retain the WWE Championship – 85

Overall 81

TNA saw specials for their tag and ‘knockouts’ divisions with the main events being Hardys over BDC, EC3 and Bram and Aries and Roode in a Ultimate X Match for the tag titles (62) and Austin Aries getting beaten up by Eric Young (46). It looks as if TNA is finally pulling the trigger on an EC3 title shot vs Kurt Angle, but the title hunt also has Aries and Young as well.

In ROH Jay Briscoe defeated a departing Samoa Joe for the ROH World Championship in a fantastic (58) main event for Supercard of Honor. Some are saying, however Jay Lethal and Matt Sydal (68) truly stole the show.

April was an eventful month in the wild world of sports entertainment. It felt like a flashpoint for which the rest of the history of wrestling will be judged. Stay tuned to WWE.com for more news and information as the industry evolves into a new age!

What's all this then?

Welcome to a little experiment I like to call Day by Day. I've tried dynasties in the past with little success due to my schedule being tight. Still the allure of writing a dynasty speaks to me as I do love both writing and TEW.

That's where this idea came into being. A dynasty that follows a 1:1 timeframe with the real world. I started as four companies: WWE, TNA, ROH and NJPW using Fleisch's April 2015 mod. For the month of April I filled in the show results into TEW and moved forward until Monday Week 1 May.

This week will be a bit of a catch up and feeling out week as I get my footing on what exactly I want this to be. My big hope is by next Monday I will be on the 1:1 pace.

For write ups I am hoping to emulate the write ups of WWE.com sans the videos/pictures being spliced in. For Pay Per Views and big events I may do more of the traditional write up, I may not. Still have a lot of details to work out here.

If you have any ideas or thoughts please let me know, and enjoy!

WWE Monday Night RAW came to us from Montreal and by the end of the night the WWE Universe knew that this was the hometown of NXT’s own Sami Zayn. Zayn’s highs and lows were the highlights of this stacked RAW which also included a big tag team main event and the return of the Tag Team of the Year!

Dean and Daniel Get Seth in the Main Event

Be careful just what you say, Seth Rollins, because it may just come true. After a verbal tirade proclaiming himself the ‘present’ of the WWE and the ‘only star’ of the Shield Seth had a very angry Dean Ambrose and Daniel Bryan to deal with. Stepping in to help Seth was Stephanie McMahon who booked a tag team Main Event of Bryan and Ambrose versus Seth and Luke Harper.

Like a crazed animal Harper raced out and brawled with Daniel and Dean. While Seth kept Daniel at bay Luke Harper hit a huge lariat and powerbombed Ambrose into the French Announce table!

… Seth, Steph, Dean and Daniel argue … 70 … Harper Powerbombs Ambrose … 61 …

R-Truth vs Stardust

Eight legged freaks! Knowing his opponents fear of spiders, the erratic starman brought a strange bag to the ring which we soon found out was filled with spiders! Taking advantage of the Truth’s fear Stardust defeated R-Truth

…51…

The Ascension vs The Usos

The Usos returned to a huge ovation in Canada, easily defeating the Warriors of the Wasteland via a big splash! The Usos are back in a big way and could this spell trouble for the New Day’s title reign?

… redebut of the Usos … 40 … match … 49 …

Rusev vs. Xavier Woods

Rusev looked focused, with Lana at his side took pleasure in ripping apart Xavier Young. With Rusev looking forward to a big rematch with John Cena in an I Quit match he has never looked sharper. After the match Cena came on the Tron to tell Rusev he can yell and scream but at Payback John Cena will successfully defend his United States Championship!

… match … 40 ... Cena Promo … 74 …

Kofi Kingston vs Ryback

Feed him more! The happy clapping of Big E ringside did nothing to hamper the offense of Ryback as he shellshocked Kofi into defeat. After Bray Wyatt attacked Ryback and whispered a cryptic warning to Ryback. Wyatt claims that if Ryback wants to be fed then at Payback we will see a feeding frenzy!

… match … 57 … Bray attack and angle … 55 …

Big Show vs Neville

Big Show may learn to not look past young talent in the future. Before the match he spoke of needing to face true talent. Neville brought the fast paced action strait at Big Show putting the giant down after TWO Red Arrows after interference by Roman Reigns!

… Show Angle … 76 … match … 61 …

Fandango vs Sheamus ; Damien Sandow vs Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler and Sheamus fued only got hotter this week with both getting big wins (Sheamus over Fandango and Ziggler over Sandow). However it was the cutting words that the two superstars had for each other that set the stage. Sheamus called Ziggler a little never was who the fans love because they relate to him. No one relates to an *** kicker, because only real men like Sheamus are *** kickers. Ziggler laughed off the words of Sheamus, saying brains always beats brawn and for tonight he was right, hitting a zig zag on Sheamus after Sheamus tried to jump him.

… Sheamus promo … 65 … Sheamus match … 62 … Sheamus and Ziggler argue … 66 … Ziggler match … 68 … Ziggler Zig Zags Sheamus … 63 …

Big E vs. Roman Reigns

After another … interesting promo from the Prime Time Players Roman defeated a very unfocused Big E. With no one to help him from the New Day, Roman hit a big superman punch and put away the Tag Team Champion.

… PTP Promo … 48 … match … 52

John Cena vs. Sami Zayn

Segment of the Night!

Introduced by Bret Hart in his hometown Sami Zayn came out to answer the John Cena United States Open Challenge! Cena made an passionate plea before the match showing the WWE Universe he would not quit! Zayn came out and took the fight to Cena like no one has in a very long time. Hitting the Blue Thunder Bomb, the corner DDT and a huge plancha Zayn was in control, until a desperation AA droped Zayn for a shocking two count! Cena hit move after move but Zayn kept countering before getting Cena in the corner for the helluva kick. That is where Kevin Owens came out, powerbombed Zayn onto his shoulder giving Cena the win.

… Pre Match … 92 … match … 68 …

Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper and Seth Rollins

Before this match Seth got a pep talk from Steph and Seth came out fired up. This big tag match brought the Canadian crowd to their feet! Harper and Bryan saw many minutes in the ring with the surprisingly quick power offense he is known for. Seth and Harper isolated Bryan for a large portion, with Seth taunting both Bryan and the suspended Randy Orton by hitting a SKO! After ten plus minutes the resilient Bryan tagged in a fresh Dean Ambrose who took out both men and hit a dirty deeds on Luke Harper!

… Pep talk … 74 … match .. 81 …

Overall show … 80

... Angle … 50 … Match … 56 …

AJ Lee and Paige vs the Bellas

It’s hard to focus on the match when you can’t trust your partner, and that’s what led to the demise of AJ Lee and Paige. While the two spent most of the match at each other’s throats the Bellas worked as a well-oiled machine. Nikki hit the Rack Attack on a distracted Paige for the win.

… 52 …

Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler vs Kane and Mark Henry

This began at the start of Smackdown where Kane called out Dolph Ziggler. He stated the Authority still hasn’t forgiven Dolph and tonight Kane would punish him in a 2 on 1 tag match. Damien Sandow came out and stated he would fight with Dolph making this a tag match. The match was a domination of Dolph by both Kane and Henry. When Damien tagged in the Universe expected him to take the fight to Kane, but instead he turned Dolph into a Terminus! Kane covered Dolph and Damien celebrated with Kane.

TNA Impact

Impact started with Kurt Angle once again talking to Eric Young. Young came out and stated his attitude of late is unchanged, but now people actually pay attention. … Angle … 33 … Match … 35 …

Ethan Carter III vs Ken Anderson

After coming out and talking down on EC3’s campaign for a title shot Anderson gets a chance to shut down Carter. EC3’s shady offense lifted him over the big mouthed Anderson after an eye poke led to a One Percenter.

… 50 …

Homicide vs Spud for the TNA X-Division title

With interference from the BDC, the resilient Spud really had no chance. The referee had a great deal of trouble keeping things in line and failed to see a Low-Ki kick to Spud and Homicide hitting the gringo killer to win the title. Afterwards the BDC poses with both the X-Division and Knockout

… Match … 52 … Angle … 59 …

Bobby Roode vs Magnus

Magnus tried to fend of the offense of Bobby Roode, but the determined former champion took down Magnus. After the match James Storm and his Revolution beat down Roode for seemingly no reason. Storm grabbed a microphone but said nothing. He just laughed as Impact went to commercial.

… Match … 55 … Angle … 44 …

BDC (Kenny King and Low-Ki) vs. the Hardys for the TNA World Heavyweight title

The Hardys not only answered the open challenge of the Beatdown Clan but put the titles on the line! Seeing a huge opportunity to win all of the TNA titles in one night, the BDC urged Low-ki and King to victory (as well as offered a few shortcuts. The Hardys once again looked good, as if they never missed a beat. Ki came close to finishing off Matt with a double stomp, but in the end Jeff Hardy battled back for his team and took the win. Afterwards MVP and the rest of the BDC bat down the Hardy’s only for the lights to go out. When the lights came back the BDC and the Hardy’s were down.

… Match … 51 ... Angle … 60 …

Before the title match Tazz and Matthews announced this would be the last title match before TNA returns to Pay Per View in June for Slammiversary

Austin Aries vs Eric Young vs Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

With the announcement before the match this became an even more high stakes battle. Austin Aries started the match hot, taking both opponents down. EY seemed to be lost, as his gameplan of having the BDC was ruined by the mysterious attack. Angle weathered the beatings from both men and eventually locked Eric Young in an ankle lock in the middle of the ring. Aries clotheslined Angle off, but not before Eric Young tapped in pain!
