Berlyn wins Cruiserweight Series Battle Royal in 10:24, picking up 8 points (D)

 

Berlyn cuts a post-match interview in German, while a graphic shows the Series Standings:

Harlem Heat are backstage promising they’ll take the titles tonight.

David Flair & Crowbar beat The Dragons thanks to interference from Daffney in 7:42 (E)

After the match, Flair and Crowbar did a beat down of the Dragons.

Scott Steiner tried to attack Chris Benoit backstage, but Benoit got the upper hand.

 

The Cat beat Terry Funk in 7:45 (D+)

 

After the match, The Cat laid a beating on Funk, but Dustin Rhodes came to Funk’s rescue.

 

Tag Title: Harlem Heat defeated the Blue Bloods in 11:07. (C-)

As Harlem Heat are celebrating with the tag belts, they’re attacked by the Blue Bloods who use their British flag to assault the new champions.

Mean Gene interviews US Champion Jeff Jarrett who says just because Ric Steiner won a random match doesn’t mean he’s US Title material.

 

Ric Flair is also backstage and warns Bagwell tonight the dirtiest player in the game won’t hold back.

Ric Flair beat Buff Bagwell by Count Out in 8:40 when Bagwell simply left the match (C+)

Ric Steiner hyped his US Title Shot.

US TItle: Jeff Jarrett retained, beating Steiner in 11:21 (D+)

A video hypes the altercations between the Jersey Triad and the Filthy Animals.

 

Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio beat Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow in 8:40 via roll up (C-)

 

Bret Hart is interviewed and airs his hatred for Benoit and that tonight the lumberjacks will make sure he can’t run away.

 

World Title Match: Bret Hart beat Chris Benoit when the nWo and Revolution lumberjacks all ended up fighting at ringside. During the chaos, Hart hit Benoit with the belt. 16:18 (B)

WCW Monday Nitro January W4 2000

 

The nWo brag about their wins at Souled Out, “proving” they’re unstoppable once again in WCW. Revolution interrupt the party, pointing out the cheating to win. In the end, Shane Douglas challenges Kevin Nash to a match and it’s accepted.

 

Joe E. Legend beat JC Ice in 6:32 (F+)

Legend is interviewed after the match about his disrespecting of Roddy Piper on Thunder.

 

Terry Funk is backstage with Dustin Rhodes, thanking him for his help at Souled Out.

 

Dustin Rhodes beat Big Vito in 6:34 (E+)

Ric Flair is interviewed, saying he isn’t done with Buff Bagwell.

 

Pre-recorded comments show Bagwell saying he has nothing to prove to Flair and he’s not worth the time.

 

Vicious Angels beat La Park and Kaz Hayashi in 8:10 (D-)

Harlem Heat are in the ring talking about their title win at Souled Out when the Blue Bloods come from behind and leave them lying on the canvas yet again.

 

Disco Inferno cuts a promo backstage promising to be in the Cruiserweight Title Match at SuperBrawl.

 

Cruiserweight Series: Minoru Tanaka and Chavo Guerrero Jr beat Lash LeRoux and Disco Inferno in 8:28 (E+)

A video recaps Hugh Morrus and his assaults on Randy Savage.

 

The Filthy Animals are backstage, talking about their win over the Jersey Triad at Souled Out. Out of nowhere the Triad attack them from behind, leaving them battered and down.

 

Rick Steiner beat Reno in 5:41 (D-)

Kevin Nash is seen getting ready for his match.

 

Kevin Nash used a foreign object to beat Shane Douglas in 10:54 (D)

After the match all hell broke loose as the nWo and Revolution both came out of the back. Nitro goes off the air again with the two teams brawling.

WCW Thunder January W4 2000

Chris Benoit opens the show in the ring, wanting a rematch against the Hitman, since he never beat him cleanly at Souled Out. Vince Russo comes out and to be fair will give Benoit a chance in the number one contender’s match on Nitro. The other two competitors in the match will be Meng and Scott Hall.

 

The Dragons beat PG-13 in 6:50 (F+)

After the match, Mean Gene interviews The Dragons, who promise retaliation on Crowbar and David Flair.

 

Hugh Morrus beat Jim Duggan in 7:13 via countout.

 

Van Hammer was interviewed backstage about his altercation with Vampiro. Hammer stated freaks like Vampiro have no place in his world. It was announced the two will meet next week.

 

Disco Inferno and Lash LeRoux get into a brawl backstage after Disco blames Lash for their loss on Monday Nitro..costing him Cruiserweight points in the process.

 

Disco Inferno defeated Lash LeRoux in 8:52. (E+)

 

Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Juventud Guerrera in 11:42 (E+)

After the match Juventud goes over and shakes Chavo’s hand in a show of respect.

 

The Cat is interviewed backstage and he’s irate at Dustin Rhodes for interfering in his business with Terry Funk at Souled Out.

 

Harlem Heat are the guests for Piper’s Pit and they guarantee the Blue Bloods got the upper hand on them for the last time.

 

Rick Steiner defeated Johnny The Bull in 7:28. (E+)

 

Minoru Tanaka defeated Lenny Lane and Evan Karagias by submission in 7:16. (E)

Chris Benoit is interviewed backstage and promises he will beat Buff Bagwell in the main event and will beat Meng and Scott Hall at Nitro, and at SuperBrawl he will be the next World Heavyweight Champion.

 

The announcers talk about Bagwell’s actions with the Nature Boy.

I cant help but want to be apart of this and run thunder lol. Thunder had some potential to really matter if just one star woulda made an appearance. Hell Booker T made his name by using Thunder. Good luck man ��

 

I remember when both SmackDown and Thunder launched, they were also treated as "A" shows. How quickly that changed. lol

 

Funny thing is, the mod still has it listed as an "A" show, which makes it even tougher. Who knows, I keep considering a brand split, but we'll see whether that comes to pass.

WCW Monday Nitro Week 5 February 2000

 

The nWo open the show, and Bret’s pissed about Benoit getting another chance at his title. He’d much rather face an honest, quality challenger like Scott Hall.

 

Dustin Rhodes beat Mike Sanders in 6:12 (35)

 

Vicious Angels beat Norman Smiley and Buzzkill in 6:01 (30)

Revolution is seen backstage, with Benoit talking about needing to keep the nWo away from main event.

 

A music video hypes the Young Guns coming to WCW in two weeks.

 

PG-13 are watching the video of the Guns, clearly not impressed.

 

Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan talk about the continued rivalry between Harlem Heat and the Blue Bloods

 

William Regal defeated Stevie Ray in 7:10 via interference from David Taylor. (51)

Booker T got into it after the match and both teams fought to the back where they were separated by officials.

 

A graphic is shown once again, updating the Cruiserweight Series standings after Berlyn’s Souled Out win.

 

Chavo Guerrero Jr. beat Lash LeRoux in 7:41 (37)

Piper’s Pit saw Roddy Piper get Joe E. Legend in the ring to talk about his issues. Legend kept taunting and insulting Piper until Hot Rod lost his cool and attacked Joe E, who ducked out of the ring.

 

Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn attack Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett backstage.

 

Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow rip the Filthy Animals for their fluke win at Souled Out and challenge the Animals to a match. Konnan and Rey Mysterio respond and accept the challenge.

 

The Triad and Filthy Animals went to a double countout as both teams fought on the outside. (52)

La Parka beat Buff Bagwell in 9:27 via Figure-Four (60)

After the match, La Parka removed his mask to reveal it was Ric Flair underneath.

 

Perry Saturn locks Scott Steiner in the men’s room.

 

Chris Benoit beat Meng and Scott Hall when Benoit put Scott Hall in the Crossface at 12:15 (66)

Nitro ends with Benoit celebrating in the ring.
