My name is Tom Hoxton , and I am a retired professional wrestler , and now the owner and promoter of WAW aka We are Wrestling. But before I say anything else i’ll tell you about my history with wrestling

2004:

I was 25 and living my dream as a trained professional wrestler ,wrestling under the ring name“Hack” . I always thought my gimmick was pretty cool , I was basically a hacker that could control the arena , so for instance I could turn off the lights in the building and roll up my distracted opponent for the win. I found myself wrestling on the indies ,primarily, ROH where I actually won the ROH Heavyweight Championship in May of 2004 but dropped the belt in July of that year because WWE were having tryouts in the New York area ( where I lived) , so I jumped on the opportunity and they saw enough in me that I was offered a contract , which I of course signed. So ROH did a farewell tour for me.And while I always told myself I didn’t care if I made it to the WWE , every professional wrestler can’t deny that they wanted to make it there.

I walked into WWE HQ in August of 2004 and I had my first meeting with writers and agents inside WWE where they basically told me that they loved my gimmick and weren’t going to rename me or anything. But ironically I never even made it to TV and you’ll see why in a bit.

So it was later that day when I was lacing up my boots to wrestle my first match, when Gerald Brisco walk into my locker room and tell me I was going over on the pre-show of RAW that night .

I probably was a bit too excited but I kept it in and replied with “Cool” . I went over the match with the Brisco and he told me to cut a promo off the top of my head and let the fans know who I was.

So with adrenaline pumping I finally headed to the ring where I saw the thousands of fans with some seeming to know who I was and once I entered the ring and grabbed the mic , I guess my ego kicked in and I supposedly killed it with my promo and basically told the fans that I deserved more than to be performing in front of peasants like them.

The match started and and I was wrestling a big muscly local wrestler who clearly didn’t know what he was doing , so I told him to tie up with me and he did, but he caught me off guard and hit an awkward bodyslam that made me fall directly on my head on the hardest mat I have ever taken a bump on , and I hit my head smack dab on the mat and I felt an agonizing pain in my neck. But as a wrestler that was JUST signed to WWE it was my duty to finish the match and I did so and limped to the back.

When I got backstage I was immediately confronted by a WWE Doctor, supposedly the guy I wrestled essentially herniated a disc in my back on the bad bump. They scanned me and what not and told me I would be out for at least a year which was the worst news I could get as the higher ups supposedly saw something in me . Regardless I still had to pay for the surgery to fix the herniated disc in my back. I reluctantly got the surgery and headed home to New York where I would spend the next year recovering.

During my time out I requested to work backstage with the road agents and bookers in the WWE so I could at least still be in people’s minds but surprisingly all the backstage stuff really caught my eye.

So on December 19th , 2005 ( my birthday) I was still signed to a WWE contract which was expiring in February of 2006. I wanted to end my career with WWE as I had no interest in wrestling again because of what I saw backstage . I would be cleared to wrestle on January 1st , 2006 . I talked to people at ROH to discuss a possible return and even was offered a contract in Japan to wrestle for NJPW but I turned every single deal down. The reason? I simply didn’t want to wrestle again , not only because of the dangers of it but also because of the fact I had fallen in love with booking and everything about it.

So on that dreaded New Years Day I called up Vince Mcmahon who told me he wanted me to sign a new contract to wrestle that year but I told him very respectfully that I decided to retire and that I didn’t want to negotiate a new contract.Vince told me understood and respected my decision and that he wishes me luck in whatever I do in the future, but this was obviously just corporate BS as I got termination letters in the mail before my contract could even run out of days. I heard nothing again from WWE or anyone inside it.

Notes: I hope you guys liked the intro to this , I am probably the most inconsistent guy on the board when it comes to keeping a diary going but I really like this idea and I hope you guys do as well. So if you guys like the idea I'll fire it up.

During my time with WWE I established a good relationship with former OVW booker Paul Heyman , but he was fired as he supposedly said something “rude” to Vince about the way I was fired. So the first thing I did was call him up and explain what the hell was going on.

Me: Paul! So good to hear from you, I just need to discuss something with you.

Paul: *laughs* I thought you fell of planet Earth , Tom.

Me: You probably won’t believe this but after my whole incident with the WWE I decided I want to start my own wrestling promotion as I was inspired to book when I was out injured and backstage all the time. And I was hoping you could….

Paul : Help you? You want me to help you don’t you?

Me: Yeah well sorta…….

Paul : I’m in!

So with the smartest mind in wrestling to help me we had multiple meetings and we quickly put together a roster with some big name guys that you wouldn’t believe we were able to sign including former OVW talent ,CM Punk . Paul and I both were against the “Sports Entertainment” style , Vince was going for and we wanted our promotion to be straight wrestling with a promo when necessary. Hence the name “We are Wrestling”, so I put all the money I had earned from my WWE contract into funding and Paul and I agreed to split the income down the middle ,pay the workers from that ,and if there was any profit , evenly share it between us. By February Paul managed to snatch a 12 month PPV deal with Cable PPV and a 1 season TV deal with a small TV broadcaster in Canada, from we signed on for our show WAW Three Count! to show on Thursdays starting on the the 1st Thursday in March.

Surprisingly the news leaked and the company gained a lot of traction because of wrestling forums and news sites promoting us .And we were advertised as two former WWE superstars looking to start a new revolution . Therefore I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the stats on TEW.com and we read that WAW had already become the 2nd biggest promotion in America behind WWE.

And as for now

The rest is history………

Teams

Team #1

Gravity Forgot Us:

http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Pac12_zpseb8x01ak.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Matt%20Sydal_zpszmnze4if.jpg

Neville and Matt Sydal

These two are one of the most exciting teams in wrestling! And it seems gravity forgot to apply its rules to these two. So will they be able to gracefully fly their way to the Tag Team Titles?

Team #2

Kings of Wrestling:

http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Claudio%20Castagnoli%20LH_zpsxpr2mlxz.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Chris%20Hero%205_zpslvj707ym.jpg w http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Brooke%20Adams%2008_zpsepcfqste.jpg

Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero

These two have traveled the world together , winning multiple promotions Tag Belts , so you have to imagine that these two are the Alpha Males of the division right now.

Team #3

Motor City Machine Guns:

http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Alex%20Shelley%20ROH_zps0tjbryv2.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Chris%20Sabin_zpse3fkaeoy.jpg

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin

Another pair of young high fliers who shows their tag team brilliance through innovative moves and breath taking performances , it wouldn't be a surprise to see these two with the Tag Belts.

Team #4

The Black Truth:

http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Ron%20Killings%202_zpsyzafcard.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Jay%20Lethal_zpsdpa4ny9a.jpg

Ron "The Truth" Killings and Jay Lethal

This tag team is pretty simple they both say that you can clearly see they are both black but they are trying to spread the truth to the "youth" of WAW and teach them that they too can be the "Black Truth"!

Team #5

The Ultimate Dragons:

http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Super%20Dragon_zpshrobwxry.jpghttp://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn7/TomTEWFAN/waw/Ultimo%20Guerrero_zpsi8eysiln.jpg

Super Dragon and Ultimo

These two skilled veterans believe that they can teach the WAW audience that anything is possible once you try hard enough and since they both have had a curiosity for dragons when they were young , these two will stun you with high -flying moves like never seen before!
