4C: The Old Saying Goes

Recommended Posts

Monday Week 1, December 2005 to Sunday Week 3, December 2005 From wrestlinginsider.com
News today trickled down from the Canadian wrestling scene that diminutive owner Troy Winner has brought in a complete unknown to head up the booking team at 4C. New York born and bred Simon Munoz has packed his bags and moved up to the great white north where he will be taking the reigns and trying to move 4C into the future.
From TrueWrestlingCanada.com
Canadian Charisma Championship Combat or 4C a small wrestling company out of Ontario has taken a very strange turn. Although named for and residing in Canada it’s roster has been more then half full with young American workers. The odd twist comes from the hiring of an American born booker who has released all the American talent and hired on all Canadian workers. I new era is dawning for Canadian wrestling and perhaps it’s name is 4C
From WrestlingUpdate.com
Although sources have been tight lipped we here have managed to get a list of the releases over at 4C and some of the new hires. The releases are as follows; Aaron Mustafa (aka Hardcore Killah), Ace Youngblood, Air Attack Weasel, Barry Kingman, Brett Fraser (the only Canadian to be released), Clavin Dark, Darryl Devine, Duberry Excess, Jacob Jett and Warren Technique. Although there were mostly no hard feelings as a lot of the workers understood how Canada would be good for business it is said that Calvin Dark was particulary upset with new head booker Simon Munoz. On the Signing front we here 4C has picked up Stretch the Chicken Boy, Steven Parker (who will have to fly back between 4C shows and MAW shows), Julian Watson (who also works in Japan for GCG), The Gremlin (In Canada with CGC) and Raphael. Rumour has it they hired on “Trademark” Thomas Morgan but after an argument over his salary he was released and he has had some word for 4C’s new head booker. Rumors abound from all over but Simon Munoz made one comment about the new roster about expecting to see a returning hero.
From 4Cwrestling.com
Dear Fans, Although I will neither confirm nor deny the names of the workers that have been taken on here at 4C suffice to say we are now a truly Canadian product. Expect to see rising stars, returning heroes and Canadian legends. Although we will have our final show of the year 4C Presents… Do or Die in December in which every active wrestler well compete and our full 2006 schedule will be released in January. Also due to the changes in the roster the 4C Hardcore and the 4C Tag Team titles have been vacated and are retired until further notice. Because of the coming wave of hires and the proposed tournament Joey Poison has voluntarily vacated the 4C championship title with a vow to hold it once again when the dust of the tournament clears. The tournament in its entirety will be held at 4C Presents… Do or Die this month. Other then that we know you true and loyal fans will be back and we are sure some new ones will come with you. Tell your friends and bring your family 4C is ready to give you the true wrestling experience. No muss, no fuss, no fluff just pure edge of your seat excitement from the past, present and future heroes of Canada. Sincerely, Simon Munoz Head Booker 4C
The first match of the 4C Championship Title Tournament "The Canadian Daredevil" Phenomenal E. Larkin lost to CGC's own and 4C newcomer "The Natural" Nate Johnson. Both men made each other look great but Johnson made Big E. submit to Natural Selection in 13 minutes. Nate John over Phenomenal E. Monday Week 1, January 2006 From 4Cwrestling.com
Happy New Year 4C fans and welcome to our brand new roster and our brand new Canadian wrestling experience. Overall we got a very positive response from our fans about our new roster and we had quite a good turn out to our DO or Die show. Steve Flash walked away as the new 4C Champion and has state that his biggest priority is to show folks what it means to be a true Canadian. Next month’s event “When the Going Gets Tough” is looking up to be a good one. After Phenomenal E. lost last week in the opening round bout against CGC Nate Johnson, he wanted and got a rematch at “When the Going Gets Tough”. The first comer to Steve Flashe’s title is Steven Parker stating that he is the future of the business and will take out the ancient Steve Flash. Lastly Joey Poison who showed a new side of himself congratulating and celebrating with Steve Flash meets up with other 4C alum Alan Parent. Tuesday Week 4, January 2006 From ShowReports.com
This month’s showing from 4C was 4C Presents…When the Going Gets Tough they moved up to the Twin Elms Park arena and didn’t even manage to fill as many seats as they did in December. The opening match saw Raphael and Julian Watson fight to a no contest with a double count out coming at 17 and 1/2 minutes. Julian Watson draws with Raphael Rating: D The second match was just way to long for its own good seeing Cal Sanders made Canadian Gangsta submit to the Canadian Leg Breaker at almost 23 minutes. Cal Sanders over Canadian Gangsta Rating: E After losing his first round match in the 4C Championship tournament Dog Fyte got a clear and dominating win over Stretch the Chicken Boy. Surprisingly the two men played well off each other and Fyte got of the Chain Dogplexes and a pin in slightly over 12 minutes Dog Fyte over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: C- The two losing semi finalists got a chance to face off. "The King of Extreme" Joey Poison took a win over Alan Parent in a long match that could have looked a little better. Alan got DQ'd when he used a chair to stop the Lethal Injection in just a tad over 25 minutes. Joey Poison over Alan Parent Rating: C- The Young MAW star Steven Parker saw a loss to Steve Flash who made his first title defense. They had such great chemistry you'd have thought they had worked together a million times. Flash did, however, dominate the match and showed off his new finisher the Canadian Clash for the pin at 12 and 1/2 minutes. Steve Flash over Steven Parker Rating: C In a rematch for his first round loss Phenomenal E. took a win over Nate Johnson. Johnson gave a real beating to Big E. before faltering and finding out what it was like on the bad end of a Phenomenal Leap. Pinfall after a great match half way to 15 minutes. Phenomenal E over Nate Johnson Rating: C Nate Johnson seemed to want to shake with Phenomenal E after what was a good match but when Big E took his hand Johnson hit the Special Delivery. Tuesday Week 4, February 2006 From ShowReports.com
It was back to the Windsor Arena Hall after not getting anywhere near as many patrons at the Twin Elms Park arena even though it was a bigger venue. We were almost full to capacity with the impending title match and the best of 7 series bringing in most of the fans. The show opens with Steve Flash in the ring and he's hyping his match tonight against Joey Poison who he says is an honorable man, a good competitor and a great Canadian. Rating: D Canadian Gangsta took a loss to his tag team partner from 4C Presents...Do Or Die Julian Watson. A decent match for two young competitors but not great and it ended with Julian Watson’s Overhead Flip Slam and a pinfall in just over 20 minutes. Julian Watson over Canadian Gansta Rating: D Raphael took a dastardly win over Cal Sanders when he used what looked like a roll of quarters from his tights to back up a punch and lay Sanders flat. Raphael got the pin at almost 24 minutes and then high tailed it from the ring. Raphael over Cal Sanders Rating: C- The big dog in the yard, Dog Fyte, took a quick and efficient win over The Gremlin again after his chain Dogplexes at 11 and 1/2 minutes. Dog Fyte over The Gremlin Rating: C- Alan Parent took the win over Nathan Black in a match that was obviously too choreographed. Parent got a submission from Nathan at 10 minutes by what looked like a blatant choke but the ref didn't see. Alan Parent over Nathan Black Rating: C- Not wanting to be the early loser Nate Johnson took a cheap win by using the ropes for leverage. He pinned Phenomenal E. in almost 15 minutes. Nate Johnson over Phenomenal E. Rating: C Announcer Terry Smith took a minute to speak on the Steve Flash versus Joey Poison match, which he called a great show of sportsmanship by flash and probably what will be the match of his career for Joey Poison. Rating: D If you left before this match you were a fool. Even announcer Terry Smith's jaw dropped a few times losing the announcing flow. Steve Flash ended up getting the Canadian Clash off on Joey Poison in what was almost 23 minutes of non-stop action and superb chemistry between Flash and Poison. Steve Flash over Joey Poison Rating: C+ Overall Rating: C+
Monday Week 1, March 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
Welcome to BackstageWrestling.com where our goal is to keep you informed on all the backstage goings on in the wrestling world. Being that we’ve just open our doors now we’re gonna recap January and February for you to let you know how things are going. To start a mysterious benefactor has bolstered the wallets of some of the smaller organizations around the globe. Although we aren’t 100% sure we can only assume that his person or persons is looking to keep the wrestling world from become stale from to little variety. Other big news is the instatement of quite a few new head bookers throughout wrestling. Danny B. Bling is now booking for NYCW, former TCW star Fumihiro Ota is now at the booking helm of CZCW, in England Stetson Hatt is making the decisions over at ROF, Geordie Jimmy for MOSC and lastly in Japan WEXXV is being booked by Hito Ichihara. Big news for two promotions as MAW comes up from obscurity and is now touring all around the Mid-Atlantic region and not just high school gyms in their hometown. PGHW has also expanded their operation, as they have become a name to be reckoned with in Japan. American born Joshua Taylor was was rushed to a Japanese hospital. Apparently life in Japan working for PGHW was stressing him a bit and he overdosed, his physical condition is stable but his mental condition is still in question. And here’s really what you stay for the BackstageWrestlin.com rumor mill America Chris Caulfiled of DAVE was on the morning shows in New York after winning the unified title said he and fellow DAVE star Scout were really getting on as of late and possibly have plans to fued. At USPW referee Robbie Sanchez took some online shots at Eric the Bull who he says has no respect for the non-wrestlers on the staff. With the growing popularity of MAW Erik Strong took some time to do an online interview and when asked about good people over at MAW he immediately said Oscar Golden was defiantly one of the best guys Canada Coming from CGC into the very different atmosphere The Gremlin said he was very pleased with how things worked behind the scenes and he was especially fond of Cal Sanders who took the time to show him around on his first day. Japan It appears DAVE star Alex Braun is giving Ryu Kajahara problems backstage as he was talking about the American when he was doing a radio interview. Yuko Okui was also on the radio in Japan and spoke highly of Sakura Sada saying how even if she is soon on her way out things are looking bright with such young stars. Veteran BHOTWG performer Sanetomo Shiraishi said he was very pleased with the job Okura Umeki was doing as a road agent and on the booking team and he thinks he’s one of the reasons BHOTWG continues to do well. Mexico SOTBPW's Dark Magik was on Mexican radio talking about upcoming events when asked about good people to work with he mentioned Lucia who was formerly a merchandise seller but now makes an excellent valet. Over at OLLIE things are going up and down as Universal Champion El Leon spoke very highly of the Original Mr. Lucha Manuel Prieto while speaking on a local wrestling show and on the radio veteran Heel Mastericco called young Julio Dominguez an upstart. One can only wonder how Julio's uncle Miguel who also works for the promotion will react. UK Upper Cut Bailey of MOSC said that he doesn't like Highland Warrior and the feeling is most certainly mutual. With Highland Warrior being the owner of that promotion one can only wonder if Bailey's days a re numbered. On the same Show Rolling Johnny Stones talked about hanging out with Chuck Frisby when they were on the road and what a nice guy he was. Europe Long time friends and training partners know for their incredible feuds UCR stars Super Falcon and Dark Falcon have stopped hang around with each other whether they are no longer friends or just don't have time is unknown. Also over at UCR Inky the Squid by appeared on a local morning show and had a few choice words to say about Cannonball Logan.
From Wrestlingontv.com
DAVE's Danger Zone TV, CGC's Title Bout Wrestling and GCG's Stars Of The Golden Canvas all lost their TV slots. To replace thier cancelled shows DAVE will be debuting Featured Attraction on National Pride TV from 11pm to Midnight on Thursdays and CGC will be Debuting Squared Circle on The Pop! Newtork from Midnight to 1am on Wednesdays. UCR, CGC, NOTBPW and PGHW have all inked lucrative PPV deals and you should now be able to watch their events live from your own home.
From 4Cwrestling.com
Well guys we have “Phenomenal” News, The Phenomenal E. aka Edward Larkin has signed an extension and will be staying with 4C for the foreseeable future. In other news out last show 4C Presents…Stiff Upper Lip was a success mainly on the packs of a super match between Steve Flash and Joey Poison. Because of this Flash has agreed to put his title on the line again against Poison and we’ll be seeing Poison vs Flash II. The best of seven series continues and we’ll be seeing that second match as well Phenomenal E. hopes to even out the wins against Nate Johnson. Trying to keep his momentum going we will be seeing Dog Fyte in action after two wins can he keep it up with a thrid? We’d also like to announce Alan Parent who wants to show his might against any comers later this month at 4C Presents…Stiff Upper Lip. Tuesday Week 4, March 2006 From ShowReports.com
Joey Poison made his way down to the ring to open up the show and he took some time to talk about Steve Flash and the night’s match. He said Steve was definitely a worthy Champion and he was just honored to be in the ring with him. Win or lose these matches against him have been the best in his life. Rating: D Cal Sanders laid in the full aerial assault on The Gremlin never giving him the chance to recover. They had a great chemistry together but The Gremlin was a little out of it. The Lumberjack Smack took of at 11 minutes and 45 seconds and landed soon after for the pin. Cal Sanders over The Gremlin Rating: C- Nathan Black took a surprising loss to Raphael after showing a very strong start. Raphael took the time to grab a handful of tights and use the ropes for leverage to get the pin at almost 12 minutes. Raphael over Nathan Black Rating: C- Dog Fyte didn't pick up as clean a win over Steven Parker as he did his last opponents but he still picked up the win after the Chain Dogplexes at 11 and 1/2 minutes. Dog Fyte over Steven Parker Rating: C- Alan Parent and Canadian Gangsta just could not find the flow of the match and Parent for the life of him could not pull down as fast a win as he was used too. After much trying Parent finally had to use the ropes for the pin at almost 28 minutes. Alan Parent over Canadian Gangsta Rating: D Phenomenal E. came to the ring to talk about his upcoming match. He spoke about the difference between winning and winning at all costs. He called Nate Johnson a loser at heart if he had to stoop to what he did last week to win. Rating: E Johnson had to take another cheap win off the phenomenal one hitting whim with a piece of pipe when the ref was out. Johnson got the final pin called at 12 minutes Nate Johnson over Phenomenal E. Rating: C A great repeat performance if ever there was one. Steve Flash still took a way a win in a great match against Joey Poison. The Canadian Clash taking its toll again for the pin at almost 24 minutes. Steve Flash over Joey Poison Rating: C+ Joey Poison stayed in the ring and took the time to shake hands with Steve Flash after another great match. Steve Flash put Poison's hand on the title and they raised it together when from out of nowhere Alan Parent attacked the two of them leaving them laid out in the ring. Monday Week 1, April 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
The biggest news today was The Stomper has officially retired from the ring and although he is still the owner of the financially faltering NYCW but wil now take a more backstage role. America Remmy Skye of CZCW was on a local southwestern TV morning show and when asked about good workers he puts over Pee-Wee Germain the ref saying without him the matches at CZCW would really be going no where. Canada The head ref of NOTBPW Matthew White was being interviewed on the radio about a book he just put out and he was asked about good guys in the locker room and he said he got on particularly well with Derek Frost. UK Kevin Jordan the voice 21CW took some time out while promoting the next 21CW show to say some very nice things about young Davey Cletic.
From 4Cwrestling.com
The shocker ending to last month’s 4C Presents…Sweat The Small Stuff has led to Alan Parent versus Joey Poison for our April event 4C Presents…No Pain, No Gain. Parent wanted to face Steve Flash but Poison said let management know that Alan need to go through him first. Of course the best of seven series continues Nate Johnson is ahead two to one but Phenomenal E. is looking to make his mark. Dog Fyte is on a three win streak and he wants to see if he can make it four, who will his next opponent be. “The Leaping Lumberjack” Cal Sanders is set to face off against Raphael and only one can come out still standing. decent diary so far..always been a fan of 4C (which is why I have the 4C invasion in my diary) Good luck getting Alan parent over with the crowd..I have tried and tired but so far he has been considered a "bad signing" on my part... keep up the god work...like the "best of 7" series

Thsnkd it's nice to know people read. I used the standard best of 7 storyline btu I want to make a few others like the 3 to 0 comeback or a one for one win untill the end. As for Alan Parent he does suck pretty bad and he's not really getting more over but with his current overness and skill he is auto-pushed as a Main Eventer so I'm gonna use him to get Joey Poison there. I'm probably another 6 months from C- in ontario and REgional status so lets see who I'll sign when that comes around. I'll definately keep up I'm already 2 shows ahead in the diary (I had 4 shows actually done before I posted)) but I'm trying disperse the postings out a bit si as not to make it overwhelming reading. ANd if there are any other readers out there 4C is all about the fans, we'll try and make the matches you wanna see.

Tuesday Week 4, April 2006 From ShowReports.com
The first match of the night saw a win for young Steven Parker over Stretch the Chicken Boy witha pin at 11 and 1/2 minutes. It wasn't bad for a match between such inexperienced competitors. Steven Parker over Stretch The Chicken Boy Rating: D The Nathan Black victory was bitter sweet. The Gremlin was out of it again this month and he and "The Black Dog" just didn't mesh styles well in the ring. We thankfully saw The Gremlin tap out at just under 13 minutes. Nathan Black over The Gremlin Rating: E Is we moved up the card for the evening we were treated to Cal Sanders and Raphael taking a long and good fight to a double DQ when frustrated both men resorted to foriegen object. The bell was called for and a couple of seconds past 22 minutes. Cal Sanders draws with Raphael Ratings: C- The Dog Fyte when streak kept it's momentum with another pinfall after the chain Dogplexes. Julian Watson put a good fight but Fyte was just to strong for him and the was pinned at 23 minutes. Dog Fyte over Julian Watson Rating: C- Joey Poison took the ring before his match and he had some things to say about Alan Parent who attack him and Steve Flash the onth before. He promises Parent will never make it ot he title as long as he breathes. Rating: D After the great matches against Steve Flash this Joey Poison win was a disaster. Mostly not his fault Alan Parent could find his flow and didn't seem to be phased by blows from Poison that would stun an Ox. Thankfully Poison locked in the Antidote Web and Parent tapped out in a pinfull 21 and 1/2 minutes Joey Poison over Alan Parent Rating: C- Phenomenal E. was the first one out and before the match started he just wanted to let everyone know that this week he was prepared for underhanded tactics and if that was how Nate Johnson was going to play then fine. Today he started the comeback in the series. Rating: D The Phenomenal One finally got that first win and not from Nate Johnson’s lack of trying. For the second time in his career Johnson felt the bad end of the Phenomenal Leap and was pinned at almost 11 Minutes. Monday Week 1, May 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
First some more sad news from NYCW, a month after it’s owner, veteran wrestler The Stomper, retired the small New York promotion has closed it’s doors. Although we know Steve Flash works for and will probably be spending most of his time with 4C, what does this mean for the rest of the wrestlers? In another story related to last month overdose it seems Japan isn’t a happy palce for American workers. William Hayes a former PGHW International Title holder failed a steroids test PGHW in the middle of this month. What that means for his career is anyone’s guess. It appears even with best friend Sam Strong as head booker of TCW Peter Valentine’s contract has been allowed to expire and the former star is now taking bookings on the independent scene. Also from DAVE highflier Johnny Martin’s contract was allowed to run it’s course and expire. In other TCW news it looks like USPW’s T-Rex has filled the Peter Valentine void as a few days after Valentine’s release he was hired. Canada In an Internet interview 4C star Nathan Black was talking about time spent training behind the scenes and he said that Raphael another 4C star took a lot of time and was a really quick study. Mexico Former American independent worker and now MPWF star Blue Sky was on Mexican television and spoke of his passed feud with El Bandito. He called him a worthy opponent and a top shelf worker.
From 4C wrestling.com
Welcome back wrestling fans after last weeks show and all the fans support we ae hapy to say 4C is happy to bring you May’s event 4C Presents…Skies The Limit. Our main event will be match number four in the best of seven series. Phenomenal E. picked up a win last month over Nate Johnson can he continue or will this series be over sooner than later. Alan Parent couldn’t make his way through Joey Poison to get too Steve Flash can he do it again this month. Another return match was the draw from 4C Presents…No Pain, No Gain, Cal Sanders will meet again with Raphael. After taking last month off to move completely back to Canada from New York, the true Canadian hero Steve Flash will see action against young up and comer Julian Watson. And still going strong on a four win streak since the beginning of the year Dog Fyte looks to keep it going against another mystery opponent this month. Tuesday Week 4, May 2006 From ShowReports.com
The rematch looked just as good as the original. For two workers so young they did well. Raphael picked up the win after use of a foreign object hidden in his tights. Pinfall occurred in a little short of 24 minutes. Raphael over Cal Sanders Rating: C- Joey Poison gave us a break from the action for a bit to speak about Alan Parent with Terry Smith. He said that Parent couldn't get through him last week adn he won't get through him this week. He insinuated that Parent would never get his hands on the title. Rating: D As Dog Fyte moves up the roster it looks like he actually has to fight his opponents instead of roll over them. Canadian Gansta gave him a run for his money but the Dogplexes took him down and he was pinned in almost 22 minutes. Dog Fyte over Canadian Gangsta Ratings: C- Showing why Steve Flash is champion the flag clad superstar dominated a young Julian Watson and retained his belt when Watson submitted at a little over 24 minutes. Steve Flash over Julian Watson For 4C Championship Title Rating: C- Same match as the last time with a lack of flow and Alan Parent just not looking god in general. Joey Poison dominated the match mostly and a frustrated Parent took a DQ after hitting Poison with the ring bell in almost 20 minutes. Joey Poison over Alan Parent Rating: C- After Phenomenal E. came to the ring Terry Smith took a moment to ask him about the series thus far. Big E. said that so far it's been Nate Johnson having to cheat to win but that there was about to be a phenomenal comeback. Rating: D The pace of the match was fast and furious and by the end Johnson was tiring which must have been why he had to use the ropes for leverage while pinning Big E. at 16 minutes. Monday Week 1, June 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
It seems that after retiring that The Stomper really didn’t want to stay out of wrestling. Although he probably won’t ever step into the ring again he has signed on as a road agent for CGC. Down in Mexico The Gatekeeper another verteran had let SOTBPW know that he wasn’t going to be able to give them as many shows anymore, for this reason it seems they have let his contract run out. Canada 4C’s Terry Smith was talking on the radio about their next event and he made mention of Raphael’s drive making it sometimes difficult to work with him. Japan GCG had a lot of rumors flying on Japanese radio veteran worker Shotaro Ikina spoke highly of announcer Masatake Hori who he said was not only great at the table but vehind the scenes as a booker and road agent. On TV Henry Bennett also of GCG mentioned he was having problems backstage with long time tag team Barry Griffin. One wonders if this will keep Bennett a& Griffin together. Mexico Veteran worker and long time super technico Championa Jr. flat you told the host of a Mexican radio show that he and colour commentator Lorenzo Blanco don’t like each. Lorenzo isn’t known for being a great commentator and after fumbling around during Championa’s last match no wonder the two have animosity toward each other.
From 4C wrestling.com
Alan Parent lost two in a row and this month at 4C Presents…Best Of The Best Joey Poison has gone on the offensive and asked for a match. Tuesday Week 4, June 2006 From ShowReports.com
Julian Watson dominated Stretch the Chicken Boy in almost 14 minutes of non-stop pain. Ending with the Overhead Flip Slam and a pin. Julian Watson over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rsting: D Not the greatest match The Gremlin was off his game again and the match was too long for the two and it lost its flow. Cal Sanders took almost all the action in the match and ended it in about 16 minutes with the Canadian Leg Breaker Cal Sanders over The Gremlin Rating: D It looked like Nathan couldn't quite get the right hold on Steven Parker making the match a bit more difficult then he would have liked. "The Black Dog" ended it with and unseen chair shot and a pin almost to 12 minutes. Nathan Black over Steven Parker Rating: C- Joey Poison and Steve Flash took some time out of the wrestling schedule to speak with Terry Smith about that night's match with Alan Parent. Joey led most of the interview and they made clear it didn't matter whom Parent's partner was, anyway you see it he'd be losing. Rating: D Dog Fyte had to work again this month with Raphael’s small size and speed keeping away from Fyte was most of the plan. Fyte finally cornered Raphael and hit The Stiff Arm pretty much taking the kids head off. Pinfall happened soon after at 24 minutes. Dog Fyte over Raphael Rating: C Phenomenal E. was in the ring again with Terry Smith talking about the series he said it wasn't gonna end with every win by Nate Johnson being a false victory and tonight the Big E will show you why. Rating: D As the series winds up the matches are getting better and better. Phenomenal E. really gave Johnson a run for his money and tired him out into the Phenomenal Lock for an embarrassing submission finish in just 15 minutes. Phenomenal E. over Nate Johnson Rating: C+ A decent match with Joey Poison and Steve Flash showing why Alan Parent wasn't ready for a title shot. Canadian Gangsta was the surprise partner but he made very little difference to the match. Alan parent got the Lethal Injection and Joey Poison pinned him at 22 and 1/2 minutes. Monday Week 1, July 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
Last month saw a new edition to the 4C roster as young commentator Ted Ross was brought in to play off Terry Smith. Although he’s Canadian he came out with an American teams hockey jersey and the Canadian fans went nuts. Even though it’s more about the in-ring action at a promotion like 4C a good gimmick still isn’t lost on the fans. America Over at AAA star, Golden Delicious wa doing the local morning show where she really put over Michelle Brandon as a good worker and a good friend. Japan It seems that in some places in Japan the Americans aren’t having any to many problems. WEXXV star Nobuhito Ogiwara had a ton of good things to say about DAVE star Eddie Peak, who is part of the DAVE Invasion Force, when he was on a Japanese radio show this month.
From 4C wrestling.com
Two matches were made after last weeks main event tag match. Steve Flash has offered Joey Poison another sho at the title saying he deserves it more then anyone and Alan Parent has demanded a match against his tag partner Canadian Gangsta. Match number six of the best of seven series is coming it is yet again do or die for Phenomenal E. Last set match up is Dog Fyte who will once again face whoever comes out from behind the curtain; with six wins so far he seems unstoppable as he comes to the upper echelons of the 4C locker room. Tuesday Week 4, July 2006 From ShowReports.com
The opening match was another decent one by youngsters and it appeared Julian Watson’s time in Japan is really helping him along. That match went back and forth but ended with a pinfall in almost 19 minutes after Raphael hit Youth Gone Wild. Raphael over Julian Watson Rating: C- Nathan Black took Stretch The Chicken Boy pillar to post really putting a hurting on the “Canadian Freak Machine”. The surprise was that they actually had a decent in ring chemistry, which helped quite a bit. It was lights out for stretch after the Black Out Suplex and uneasy pin at 12 and ½ minutes. Nathan Black over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: D Dog Fyte is working hard for his wins now but still getting them. “The Leaping Lumberjack” Cal Sanders used his small size and speed to keep out of the clutches and of Fyte and even managed to mount his own offense a few times but the big Dog finally locked in the Chain Dogplexes and go a pin at 19 and ½ minutes. Dog Fyte over Cal Sanders Rating: C This match seemed like a clunky, poorly written street fight. Although every thing was stiff, there was no flow. We were all thankfully spared to long of it as Alan Parent Locked in The Last Lock at 16 minutes. Alan Parent over Canadian Gangsta Rating: D Before his match it was time to here a little more from Phenomenal E. Terry Smith guided the interview expertly and Big E said tonight wasn’t the end and come hell or hgh water he was going to make it come down to the seventh match. Rating: D Would you believe that Phenomenal E. was right? Not only did he win the match he dominated the whole thing. Nate Johnson had no clue what hit him as Big E. took him down with every move in his arsenal. Not wanting the pain of actually losing to The Phenomenal One again Johnson got DQ’d 16 minutes in by hitting Phenomenal E. with a chair. Phenomenal E. over Nate Johnson Rating: C AS was his want Joey Poison took a minute to speak on another match with Steve Flash. He said he didn’t ask for the match and was honored that Flash thinks highly enough of him to offer him one. Tonight will be another great contest and maybe he’ll walk out champ who knows. Rating: D The fans loved these two competitors the first two times and they loved them again last night. The match was so fast paced new announcer Ted Ross couldn’t even keep up with it. The crowd didn’t want it to end but it did after the Flash Bang at just over 21 minutes. Steve Flash over Joey Poison Rating: C+ Overall Rating: C+
Monday Week 1, August 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
The wrestling world is all a flutter this past month. First with the bad news it seems that Garbage is just not what the Japanese want WEXXV closed it’s doors this month and it seems tensions were high because Chaos Demon #1 said some really bad things about Nobuhito Ogiwara on National TV. Another nail in the coffin might have been the missing DAVE star Eddie peak but there’s more on that in our net piece Here’s the good news SWF is finally being seen world wide as they have reached what some would calla Global level of acceptance. To deal with this expansion they made a few hires ex Dave Highflier Johnny Martin who’s been doing independent bookings for about three months now, Eddie Peak and Ryan Holland from DAVE and Road Agent The Stomper from CGC. Over at CGC they picked up Jason Rogers as a new road agent but some one who was not on the ball let Dan DaLay’s contract expire and one can only wonder what this means to the Alex DeColt, Dan DaLay friendship/. Jez Macarthur is the replacement ref over at DAVE for Ryan Holland. Mexico SOTBPW’s Junior Youth had some bad things to say about his backstage issues with Dark Magik while speaking on Mexican radio UK 21CW seems to be having a copasetic locker room as of late. On local TV Craig Walker aka Rave, put over Davey London saying for a young guy he had a lot of talent and was very humble about it. It seems not everything is all a-ok in British Empire as MOSC’s Jeremy Allen aka Tom Foolery was on the radio he talked about he and veteran wrestler Thug having to be separated backstage.
From 4C wrestling.com
Its August folks and this month we bring to you 4C Presents…First Come First Serve and we’ll be serving up a heaping helping of good competition. It’s down to the wire is ti gonna be Nate Johnson or Phenomenal E. to win and what comes after a great best of 7 series like this one. After much pestering Steve Flash has decided to give Alan Parent his title shot but we’re sure it’s not goanna be that easy for Parent. Dog Fyte put Cal Sanders under his belt as win number seven who can stop this awesome monster now, wait and see. Young upstart Raphael has made a challenge for Joey Poison I guess figuring Poison has the champ’s ear and if he can beat him maybe he can get a title shot. Tuesday Week 4, August 2006 From ShowReports.com
Cal Sanders showing why they call him “The Leaping Lumberjack” as he flies around the ring completely dominating the offense against The Gremlin. The two again showed their great chemistry and Sanders got the pin after hitting the Lumber Jack Smack in just shy of 16 minutes. Cal Sanders over The Gremlin Rating: C- Julian Watson gave Canadian Gangsta more then a run for his money as he showed why he will probably soon be moving up the card. The action was back and forth but “The Maniacal Maverick” caught Gangsta in the Overhead Flip Slam and got a pin a few seconds over 17 minutes. Julian Watson over Canadian Gangsta Rating: D Joey Poison took a minute in the ring to hypes his match against Raphael. Terry Smith controlled the interview and Joey let it be known that after facing off with a guy like Raphael wouldn’t be a problem. Rating: D Poison’s words were proved right as he completely dominated Raphael in the ring. The rookie didn’t even know what hit him as “Mr. Thrill” Joey Poison got the Lethal Injection and a pin at half past 22 minutes. Joey Poison over Raphael Rating: C- For two guys who work so well in the ring Nathan Black and Dog Fyte just couldn’t get the right groove going with each other. After a bit of stiff hits and locks back and forth Dog Fyte tried to take off Nathan Blacks head with the Stiff Arm and then got a pin at 12 and ½ minutes. Dog Fyte over Nathan Black Rating: C- Steve Flash showed Alan Parent why if you can’t make it through Joey Poison then you are no match for the champ. Parent couldn’t get anything locked onto Flash and fell to every move that was tried against him. Parent finally got so frustrated that at 21 and ½ minutes he got DQ’d by hitting Flash with a chair. Steve Flash over Alan Parent Rating: C- Ted Ross and Terry Smith took a few minutes to recap the best of seven series thus far. Ted Ross took the time to pump up “The Natural” Nate Johnson and how almost American he was and Terry Smith took the time to build up Phenomenal E. as a great young wrestler and a true Canadian. Rating: D This was a quick match as Phenomenal E. made a complete fool of Nate Johnson. Big E. Dominated the whole match and Johnson looked like a complete clown messing up the simplest of move. After 12 and ½ minutes and one last Phenomenal Leap it was all over for Nate Johnson who laid on the floor for the entire ten count. Phenomenal E. over Nate Johnson Last Man Standing Match Rating: C- Phenomenal E. got some water and splashed it on Nate Johnson’s face and then helped him up. To the delight of the crowd they celebrated together in the ring. Rating: D Overall Rating: C-
Monday Week 1, September 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
First things first, as has been confirmed by the 4C website Nate Johnson will no longer be with that promotion. What is not mentioned although we have it from a reliable source is that Johnson was asking for almost double of his already 900+ per appearance contract as well was asking for a merchandise percentage. The 4C website specifically states that there is a new worker coming in but we couldn’t get an answer on that front as the promotion is being tight lipped. Stetson Hatt has been asked to resign as head booker of RoF, although a replacement hasn’t been announced we wonder why Stetson was removed in the first place. Canada The backstage atmosphere continues to stay good as was evidenced by Cal Sanders going on a local Radio morning show and talking about what a great experience he’s having. He said he got on best with Colour Commentator Terry Smith who was always nice to all the guys in the back.
From Wrestlingontv.com
Although nothing has changed on the TV schedule it appears that along with BHOTWG and CGC renewing their PPV contracts European promotion UCR has managed to ink a deal of their own.
From 4CWrestling.com
Ladies and Gentleman 4C Presents…First Come, First Serve went off without a hitch. With the end of the best of seven series we saw the end of Nate Johnson’s tenure here at 4C and we wish him the best of luck in his further endeavors with CGC. With no clear #1 contender for the title it looks like its time to get that sorted out. This month at 4C Presents…Time To Kill will see the start of the #1 contender tournament. The first round of the tournament will see “The Black Dog” Nathan Black going head to head with “The Leaping Lumberjack” Cal Sanders. Phenomenal E. coming off his tremendous best of seven series win faces off against young upstart Raphael, will the Phenomenal Leap over come Youth Gone Wild? Dog Fyte goes up against his first named opponent, Steve Flash’s own personal defender Joey Poison. Tuesday Week 4, September 2006 From ShowReports.com
First up Joey Poison took some time to talk about Dog Fyte and their first round match tonight. He told Terry Smith that even though Fyte ws undefeated eight straight matches so far that he hadn’t made it to the top yet and there was no way he was getting through him. Rating: D Steven Parker took Stretch the Chicken Boy for a serious ride tying the poor boy up in knots. It all ended with a pin at slightly over 13 minutes just after the Future Shock. Steve Parker over Stretch the Chicken Boy Rating: D Round one saw Nathan Black and Cal Sanders both decent technical wrestlers so it was mostly a ground based game. It went back and forth for awhile until Sanders stumbled into the Black Out Suplex and Black got a pin just before 13 minutes Nathan Black over Cal Sanders Rating: C- Big E. just off a super win over Nate Johnson caught Raphael as his first round match and he took some time just before the match to talk to Terry Smith about it. He said if he could take on and win against a guy like Nate Johnson that an upstart like Raphael was nothing. Rating: D And just as he claimed in his interview he took Raphael to task. 24 and ½ minutes of Phenomenal E. dominating Rapahel was what we got. The final pin came after an incredible Phenomenal Leap. Phenomenal E over Raphael Rating: C- Dog Fyte and Joey Poison had a great match trading the advantage back and roth for awhile. It looked like Joey was gonna take the win until Alan Parent hit the ring and knocked Poison from Behind while the ref was distracted by Dog Fyte. After 25 minutes Fyte pinned the unconscious Joey Poison. Dog Fyte over Joey Poison Rating: C The Debut of the newest member of the 4C roster was Tim Westybrook as he completely dominated Alan Parent. Westybrook knocked Parent from pillar to post for 25 minutes taking the time to show his strength instead of pinning him on more then one occasion. Westybrook finally got a pin after he hit what he called the Coal Miner’s Slam. Tim Westybrook over Alan Parent Rating: C- Tim Westybrook took some time to celebrate his debut win and the crowds loved him for it. Monday Week 1, October 2006 From BackstageWrestling.com
Uppercut Bailey too over the head bookers job for RoF but it was too little to late as Stetson Hatt’s poor financial moves bankrupt the company and they went out of business by the end of the month just after Bailey’s first show. A number of releases from contract expatriation Dean McWade from DAVE, Captain USA from CGC, Alysian Scottsfield from USPW, and Tomoko Nagatsuka from 5SSW. But it’s not all bad Danny B Bling who’d been sitting on the sidelines a few months after NYCW went under signed with DAVE, 21CW picked up to lovely ladies with the signings of Phoebe Plumridge and Melanie Flores . America Tom E. During a radio interview SWF’s Texas Pete had a lot of good things to say about Enygma. It appears that they’ve been spending a lot of time together since the fued they had this past year. Canada Stretch the Chicken Boy at 4C seemed to be sucking up to the boss Troy Winner when he spoke about him on local Canadian Radio. Wedo have it on good authority, though that he and Troy are actually getting on as friends because a lot of people both consider them freaks. Japan BHOTWG rookie Dynamite Narahashi (Rookie) put over veteran American worker Everest Elmer on Japanese TV. Over at TCW it looks like the end for The All-American Boys as Troy Tornado commented that he and partner Stevie Grayson are no longer friends. On the same radio show Raul Darkness, also a tag star at TCW, had some good things to say about announcer Kyle Rhodes. Danny B. Bling looks like he’s fitting right in after his recent hire at DaVE. JD Morgan, one of the big men on campus over at DaVE, was on the radio and had a ton of good thigns to say about Danny. CZCW’s Jesse Gilbert put over Flying Jimmy Foxx on local TV it seems the two have been getting a lot of ring time together and Gilbert really thinks Foxx is “Tops” Canada 4C alum Alan Parent spoke of Joey Poison as great friend in online interview last month.
