I'm not willing to predict myself because I don't have any solid guesses. I'm not too big of an NJPW watched nowadays so I'm not entirely invested in the whole product. Just stuff like Goto being dumped on by CHAOS which makes me laugh.

I could see it being Kamaitachi, being a full return to Japan. Him and Dragon Lee have another title match in CMLL this friday (will be aired live on youtube) where I assume he will lose the title back and then come home from excursion.

But other than that, New Japan cup starts with these matches

Probably not.

It'll most likely be an outsider. Maybe someone from NOAH? I'm not familiar enough with their roster though.

I'm just waiting for the new Bullet Club member.

Also locking in my New Japan Cup winner as Tama Tonga.

They've always needed a junior for the singles ranks.

Okada doesn't have many opponents left before the inevitable Naito match but I'd assume Naito would get some PPV wins and then win the title at Dominion in July, because he's by far the most over wrestler in Osaka (in a heel way)

Rolling with Nagata for the cup though.

Don't sleep on Fale. He's been pushed heavily in the last two NJC's, a semi-finalist and finalist respectively. They know that Okada can work a good match with Fale and with them having just renewed his and Tonga's contract, one has to assume they'll invest in him.

They've ran through him & Okada's story for now, another Tanahashi/Okada bout so soon after Wrestle Kingdom doesn't have the same feel to it. Fale would be a good breather opponent for Okada.

Curiously, on the Okada note, Will Ospreay retweeted Enuhito's tweet concerning a new member of CHAOS. Ospreay's faced off against Okada before and is heading to New Japan soon. I'm all in favour of him bucking the NJPW gaijin worker trend of working in the Bullet Club for him to be a part of CHAOS.

There's nothing fresh left for him to do as a singles wrestler, but a tag run would be a breath of fresh air for both his career and the tag team division. Plus it would be easier on his body, at least in theory.

Freshens up the tag scene slightly, although that's not hard given that one half of their tag division left with Guns & Gallows. NJPW have gotten really sloppy with building divisions. The juniors is currently in the rebuilding phase after having Omega beat literally everyone and then be like "lol, heavyweight time". The tag division needs more teams than GBH and the occasional Meiyu Tag team up.

I'd have one more singles feud with Tana at least

Given the story they told with the IC around New Beginning he needs to continue to chase that title at some point. My fantasy book is he wins the NJ Cup and tries to challenge for the IC, beating Naito in the process. Then Naito messes up the title shot for Tana, leading to Tana-Naito feud which Naito wins. Naito-Okada at Dominion where Naito is HATED in that province, Naito wins the strap, Okada wins G1, Tana builds himself back up (maybe through tags) and we have our top two matches for dome as: Okada-Naito©, rematch from 2014 dome, this time top of the card, and Tanahashi-Omega©, to finish up that feud, given how important the Intercontinental Title has been to Tanahashi in promos and the like recently. Also, Tanahashi is both Naito and Omega's best feud mate in my opinion, the Tanahashi-Naito feud last year was great outside of a few let down matches, and Omega-Tana has already produced (in my opinion) the best match of Omega's career this year, and now Kota is gone (probably) it seems to me to be the best feud for him for dome if they go ahead with pushing him UNLESS they promote Little Ace to heavies, which I don't see happening, because he's one of the best Junior Babyfaces they've had in decades.

I'm not too versed on past stuff as I've only really started watching this year. If you're looking for English commentary, I believe Wrestle Kingdom 9 and 10 had English commentary. 2016 New Year Dash had English commentary (not sure about 2015). And the recent ROH/NJPW shows had English commentary I think? Or will once ROH packages it for TV?

Can't say if anything else has English commentary off the top of my head. If it does help, there are some shows with no commentary period, but I'm not sure if that's better/worse depending on your preference.

I'd say tomorrow would be a good starting point with the first night of the New Japan Cup, but it's gonna be Japanese commentary most likely.

I'm one of those guys who needs the English commentary so the following shows need to be translated. The WWE is just doing a good job of making me look for alternatives.

New Japan on AXS is you're only real option, it's about one year behind but has great highlights from 2013-2015, with fantastic commentary from Mauro Ranallo and Josh Barnett. Most of NJ's live English commentary is really bad, with the 2015 Dome Show being a possible exception. AXS show is great, but I'm not sure JR/Barnett will be as good, who knows. I'll urge you to try the Japanese comms, they're so passionate and all the story is told in the ring through body language, it's truly wonderful. For example, one slap in the Dome main event this year was the big climax, the perfect climax, to over 3 years of a very specific story being told, my favorite storytelling moment in the history of wrestling, beautiful.

They cut down the matches and toss in commercial breaks, so you rarely get a full match, but Ranallo is a fantastic commentator. They also translate an occasional promo or two, but with it being a year or so behind, it'll be an older storyline. I believe the JR/Barnett era starts this Friday as a matter of fact.

I'd also suggest checking out the Voices of Wrestling website. I mostly go there for their New Japan stuff. They do reviews and previews for most shows (at least the ones that air on NJPW World). Also, I highly recommend their free e-book they released earlier this year which is a Year-in-Review for 2015 book about New Japan.

I don't mind being behind a year just as long as I'm watching cohesive shows....English commentary is a must for me because I try watching some of the matches on DailyMotion even though the Japanese Commentators are really into the match it takes me out of it not knowing what they are saying. Hell if the promos are subbed I might throw money at a subscription tonight.
