Say Farewell to your TEW2013 Saves

Recommended Posts

While I've been doing a lot of booking for my current main 2013 save, I'm mostly doing a watcher game.

I'm having a bit of an internal crisis when it comes to how much time I want to dedicate to something I'm more or less going to stop playing in a week's time. I'm going to need to get familiar with a new roster (as i'm 10 years into the future in my 2013 game), so still doing SOME booking...but I'm trying to reserve my effort for 2016. I hate coming to this conclusion after booking out 12 shows for a large regional fed, but it just seems so pointless at the moment.

Not ready to give up on my long-term save game in TEW 2013 yet as I probably won't be seriously committing to a save with the new game until the major bugs are sorted out.

My goal is to get my current promotion to international (I'm one ppv event away, so I'm almost there) and see how far I can go from there with international talent available.

Goodbye Cornellverse 4 year in game time save.

Jack Bruce had a great run after leaving SWF and starting his own Reigonal Promotion called Tri-State Championship Entertainment. He was a heel authority figure despite being the most popular babyface in the world. He put over just enough young guys to turn them into Reigonal stars. Matthew Keith, KC Glenn, Greg Guage, Roger Cage. He even made Matthew Keith so popular that he is the current TCW Midcard champion. He wasn't alone in his efforts. Christian Faith the other most popular Babyface of SWF eventually retired as an in ring competitor and joined my little brand as a manager for his son Matty Faith and Greg Guage as the tag team Second Sons. He helped elevate Greg Guage to be my final Big Apple champion. A championship that over four years is at a 100 prestige.

My favorite booking decision was the result of a terrible one. I put the Big Apple title on Killer Shark who did not have enough momentum behind him, and wasn't good enough in ring to make up for it. I booked a rematch that ended in a screwy refferee finish and vacated the title, deciding on a tournament. Up to this point, I had KC Glenn and Ernest Youngman as a tag team called Two Dudes on a Mission. They were jobbers for a year, then champions for half of one. Just before the tournament I broke them up to push them both in my Neverender Defender title race. Youngman turned on KC Glenn and became a phenomenal heel. After exchanging that title I had them join the tournament where KC Glenn beat three former Big Apple champs to get to the finals Agaisnt Youngman, who received a bye due to a time limit draw by Jack Bruce and Puerto Rican Power. Ernest Youngman won the title after interference from his valet to become the champion, but due to their high profile wins they were not over 90 momentum. So their subsequent feud ended when KC Glenn defeated Youngman clean for his first reign with the title.

Two years later, KC Glenn is still my top babyface. Youngman is still my top heel. Jack Bruce just finally turned Face after a three and a half year stint as heel. Greg Guage is my current and final Big Apple champion, having won the title from Ernest Youngman. Christian Faith was finishing up with my company to return to SWF as a color commentator, and so I had Youngman destroy him In a series of angles. Guage finally got revenge for his Manager the following 'PPV' (not big enough to run PPVs but I still have my own version) by winning the Big Apple title.

So you can't transfer 2013 saves to 2016..Damn well there's only two saves that are really worth saying goodbye to.

Goodbye Montreal Aftermath even though i screwed up in 99 and late 98 was a mixed bag, i still enjoyed the ride and i learned lot from you.

Goodbye Owen Hart, This save is one of the reasons why you're one of my favorite wrestlers. It's a shame that neither one of your four title reigns were all that lengthy. I'm sorry for jobbing you out to Severn two PPVs in a row.

Goodbye Jeff Jarrett, Sure Late 98 was the beginning of the end but i enjoyed pushing you to the moon during that time.

Goodbye Steve Blackman, You will always be my boy who kicks ass and takes names booking you to win the IC title at Mania 15 was fun.

Goodbye D'Lo Brown, You were my pet project and getting you to be one of my most over workers was amazing.

Goodbye Steve Austin, How could i not mention you the guy who led the company you were one of the shinning lights even in the bad times and your match against Owen at Mania 15 tore the house down.

And then my current save that i'm really going to miss my 95 save where i wanted nothing more but to win the war and make it to Mania 18.

Goodbye Vader, You were a great monster heel champion and fact that you have only lost two single matches from August 95 to April 97 shows how much faith i had in you as my top heel.

Goodbye Bret Hart, This save showed me why WCW kicked my ass in Montreal Aftermath any company using you is due for success.

Goodbye Steve Austin, Your rise is being cut short too soon, At least you got to beat Bret and break Pillman's ankle.

Goodbye Shawn Michaels, I was nervous for mid 96 but you carried the main event scene like a true champion and for the most part you will ok backstage.

Goodbye Scott Hall, Hey Yo i'm glad that you ended up being the last world champion of this save.

Well that's my goodbyes. Who knows i may stick with 95 depending on what i think of TEW2016.

I think I'm going to spend the next few days finishing up my WWF '95 game and getting to SummerSlam 1996, which marks a full year of in-game play. As a pre-emptive goodbye, here's my list.

Goodbye, Shawn Michaels, whose heel turn after the Royal Rumble set up a hot period for the company. He'll likely end the game as the WWF Champion.

Goodbye, Bret Hart, for starting a revival for the company by beating Diesel for the belt at Survivor Series 1995. Additionally, you and your brother were a big reason we got Raw on TV in Canada.

Goodbye, tag team division, which was a gas to book. To Mick Foley/Terry Funk, the Steiners, Jeff Jarrett/Roddy Piper, the Rock n' Roll Express, the Smoking Gunns, and a few other teams thrown together, thanks for the fun!

Goodbye, Lance Storm and Dean Malenko, who joined forces with Ted DiBiase and Chris Benoit to form the Million Dollar Corporation. Storm was brought up from developmental when Malenko signed, and I rose both up to upper-midcard status by putting them over one team of midcard faces after another. They may very well end the game as WWF Tag Team Champions (they're feuding with current champs Foley and Funk).

Goodbye, Steve Austin, the current Intercontinental champion who'll end the game with a dream match against Roddy Piper at SummerSlam.

Goodbye, Tough Enough Wrestling, my developmental fed. I really overhired prospects (I had about 30 guys on developmental contracts; whoops!), but TEW churned out several guys who would be players if I continued longer. Storm is the main one, but TEW alums John Layfield, Edge, Christian, Doug Williams, Blitzkrieg, Billy Kidman, Ekmo, and EZ Money are all on the roster.

On a related note, goodbye, Dwayne Johnson, who would probably be called up after SummerSlam if I continued.

Goodbye, Rey Mysterio and 2 Cold Scorpio, who'll likely steal the show in their ladder match at SummerSlam for the new WWF Cruiserweight title.

Goodbye, Warrior, Lex Luger, and Gene Okerlund, all of whom I got significantly better deals by bidding WCW up to ridiculous amounts!

Let's finish things up strong at the July IYH and SummerSlam!

Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my TEW2013 games and saves early last year when my old computer crashed on me. I recently got a new computer when I heard of the release of TEW2016. So I'm looking so forward to the new game and see how it runs on this computer.

I decided to do a game where every year I took a screenshot of the main guys in my promotion. As a result I have an interesting chronicle of my 1987-2000 game. Which is now the longest game I've ever played in TEW.
