What's going on in your game?

Otherwise I might have considered it.<p> </p><p> I do agree with the rest of the advice here. Don't worry about having to get your production values up to the level of the other groups immediately. Remember that if your show is about 2 grades above your popularity your promotion still sees the increase, so at F+ (when you first hit small), anything above an E is a decent show. If you can put on D- shows with the penalty you are just fine as your wrestlers don't suffer the penalty even if the promotion does. Eventually you'll have enough money coming in to afford to make permanent changes.</p><p> </p><p> And do consider what costs more. IIRC the broadcast and music values are comparatively inexpensive to raise 1-2 levels, with largely flat charges, but the one for ticket taking and such will increase show costs $1000 per show with just a single increase, making it probably the last one you want to put money into.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Regarding the purchase, I happened to come back from -250K to above even at the right time (sold my dojo to avoid closing, put me up around 100k). It only cost 25K to buy both combined (you only pay the amount they are in debt and they were something like -7K and -18K, right now assuming they'd both sell, I could snatch up SAISHO at -14K and UEW at -5K).</p><p> </p><p> Also looking at your post reminds me of one last thing to consider. It's not as easy as saying that being a letter grade above increases popularity because losing the battle costs you popularity so depending on what place you are in you could lose your gain or even have a net loss despite a good show (can't recall for sure, but I want to say that being second place was -0.2, 3rd -0.4, 4th was -0.6 etc). I run weeklies and sometimes a monthly event and made a point when my production was low to run at least 2-3 really good shows in my home region per month with the idea being that I'd make enough gains, I'd never have a net loss in pop over the month and that I'd get better show grades than going to other regions, increasing my worker popularity and the chances of surpassing someone in the battles, which I did a few times. But if you only run one show a month, you could very easily lose pop slowly, a show every third week might give you enough months with extra shows to negate that and more frequent is better if you can afford it. </p><p> </p><p> Also of note for those capping their size at small to save money, don't. When I hit regional, attendance basically doubled. I make a killing on home shows now (helps that ind/eco rose as high as 96/100 in the home region. I make 30-50K/show at home, and only lose 5-10 K per month when abroad - I have areas in the 20s to 30s in every game area). That change in attendance is what allowed my to finally upgrade from 1.03 as it made up for losing 60K in monthly sponsorship from the upgrade.</p><p> </p><p> One last thing I fought with was this ....I was in a spot where I had matched my top rival in everything but live event, which required me 3K/show to match (I don't think there was an upgrade fee, but could be wrong). Given my schedule that usually means 15K/month and I'm considering moving to a 6 show format which would be 18K/month then. What I debated instead was leaving that at the smallest and instead increasing my music from minor licensed to the next level. This would cost 5K initially, but then only an additional 7.5K/month. So overall it would cost less and while it wouldn't make as nice of a boost to my show grades, it would hurt ALL of my rivals as I'd be alone at the top. I could also hurt their finances if they chose to match. In a few months my spillover should put me in a battle CZCW so I may revisit this to see which is best. I also think smarter AI management of this might help companies like MAW and ACPW survive as they went well beyond their means in my game.</p>

<p>Just finished my first year in the Risky Business mod, playing as the WWF.</p><p> </p><p>

Hulk Hogan is still WWF World Heavyweight champion, defending the title against the likes of Roddy Piper, Stan Hansen, Cowboy Boy Orton, Big John Studd, and King Kong Bundy during the year. His best friend, Andre the Giant, turned against him in October before disappearing for the rest of the year. He'll make his return at the Rumble and challenge Hogan at Wrestlemania 2.</p><p> </p><p>

Magnum T.A. and his manager, Missy Hyatt, had a dominating first year in the WWF. Magnum won the Intercontinental title from Tito Santana in May and held it until December, losing it to Randy Savage. Savage, having spent July-November in rehab, was rewarded the title upon his return. Magnum looks to continue his WWF takeover well into 1986, while Savage will hold onto the IC title for a while.</p><p> </p><p>

The tag team scene hasn't taken off like I wanted it to. The Legion of Doom held the belts from May to August, dropping them to Demolition before they were both sent to rehab. Animal has returned to singles competition but Hawk is still away. Meanwhile, Demolition defended the titles against Paul Orndorff and Dick Slater before losing them to The Hart Foundation. The Hart Foundation are currently feuding with Terry Funk. Funk had Hillbilly Jim as his partner but now he's looking for another partner. Too bad his brother is too old! (owner goal won't let me hire any wrestler above the age of 42.)</p><p> </p><p>

Elsewhere in the WWF, Ricky Steamboat has been putting on quality matches in the midcard with whoever he's put up against. Ted DiBiase is working through patellar tendonitis, that will keep him limited for over a year. Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo had a good run as The U.S. Express, winning the tag titles and the first ever WWF Tag Team Classic tournament before Rotundo turned on Windham to join the Heenan Family.</p><p> </p><p>

I bought out Stampede Wrestling and am using it as a development promotion. Currently have it loaded with a bunch of young talent, being trained by Freddie Blassie, Nick Bockwinkel, The Iron Sheik, and Stu Hart. Can't wait for the likes of Rick Rude, The Rockers, Steve Lombardi, Scott Hall, Owen Hart, Mick Foley, Mark Calaway, Jake Roberts, Davey Boy Smith, and Diamond Dallas Page to be ready to join the WWF roster. Roberts and Rude have formed a tag team known as High & Mighty that I'm excited to use.</p><p> </p><p>

Outside of the WWF, Rocky Johnson defended Ric Flair for the NWA World title, Antonio Inoki was caught with prostitutes, Yoshiaki Fujiwara was named Wrestler of the Year, and while lots of wrestlers were injured for over a year, nobody died!</p>

Good points all.

Some things to point out though.

1) my promotion is set up in the Great Lakes region so there are no competitors in the region. PSW and NYCW haven't gotten much spillover due to the poor wrestling industry for the US (often no better than D) and economy (usually in the E area). This has slowed them from even trying to expand. So when I did get to small the only "competition" I had was over production values.

2) I agree that the AI is way too aggressive with production values. GSW basically ran themselves out of business partly by having the best production values in the US for a small company. When I reached small I was beneath them on every element because they were paying probably an extra $4000 per month to have professional level shows. I considered trying to match them, but my sponsor money was only about $4200 when the forecast was $7,000. I was just barely breaking even so there was no way I'd put more money into production. They finally went under just a few days back so it will be interesting at my next show since I will be the top or tied for the top in production values now.

3) I very much agree on the "don't cap your size to save money." I've never quite understood that. Yes, costs can jump and at each size increase your minimum roster size increases, but I usually have 4-6 extra workers anyways and run longer than normal shows, so I am already experiencing a lot of the costs anyways. The benefits of the size increase do matter quite a bit. I agree the regional to cult jump can be nasty, but deliberating not increasing in size is not the best way to handle the situation.

But things like this is what makes the game more interesting and challenging. Its part of why I run performance=popularity or popularity is more important promotions. The ones that grade primarily on performance are boring in my opinion. :p

regarding point 1, I'm also great lakes actually. And I had my first regional battle vs nycw and PSW before I hit small because I cross the the pop threshold before crossing the importance one so I'm surprised you aren't having the same and my industry economy started off in the toilet too so I don't think that's the difference. There spillover had crossed the 10 pop threshold in the great lakes so they battled me there, even while not actually holding shows there.

And while I don't believe in the whole capping thing, in my case there could be a major benefit to having capped myself at local as I was winning the battles at local due to not having any production requirements. In a me vs CPU game I'd never use it because I was still losing money at local and it stagnates growth. Though in a multiplayer, if I was a child promotion or part of an alliance consortium where I could survive financially, I might do it to hurt a rival. And that's assuming Adam hasn't changed how this works. I think he intended it to start once you actually reach small, so I'm guessing that has been or will be patched.

Also as a note... I too like extra workers as has always been my MO. I go a little overboard. At regional I'm required to have 29, I have 77.

<p>SWF in August 2017, signed El Leon 8 months ago, gave him an amazing 4 month title reign, he just lost the belt to Rick Law, gets injured with a broken arm and now gets caught abusing drugs, sent him to rehab, he's gone for 9 months and misses The Supreme Challenge 38 (which i moved to April at the start of the game). But i love that it makes me change my plans, as he was supposed to win the belt back originally.</p><p>

<p>Just ran Billy Russell vs. Puerto Rican Power I in FCW to end the "season" -- but honestly, this feud will go on until next "season"ends. </p><p> </p><p>

Billy Russell became #1 Contender, but Giant Brody smashed both combatants into the ground post-match. He'll be up against Tully Arthurs (Leper Messiah) for the championship.</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, Joffy Laine is slowly becoming the Figurehead, moving up the chain slowly. </p><p> </p><p>

Puerto Rican Championship: Tully Arthurs, 3 Defenses</p><p>

FREEDOM Championship: Joffy Laine, 1 Defense</p><p>

Tag Team Champions: Wasteland [Mutant & Bull Wrecker], 0 Defenses</p>

<p>So after a sizable delay I finally got the full game yesterday (the joys of having adult monetary commitments...)</p><p> </p><p>

Picked up the company I left off with on 13 which is NYCW, Currently headiing into month 3 which means i'm headed into my monthly show named Paradise City, Which will be headlined by Honest Frank defending the Empire Championship vs Man Mountain Cahill and Bulldozer Brandon Smith. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm currently slow turning Frank who after besting Cage for the title at Rush Hour shook the hand of Cage and showed Cage the ultimate respect on what was Roger's last night in the company (pesky UPSW) </p><p> </p><p>

The following month Cahill lost his shot at the title by losing his temper and getting Rage DQ'd, this led to Smith (who faced & Lost to Cahill at Rush Hour) making the save and setting up the 3 way. </p><p> </p><p>

In other news elsewhere The Devious Aldous Blackfriar has been targeting Steve Flash which will lead to Aldous being joined by his Dark Watch, this is all in an effort to build up Aldous to take the belt from Frank. </p><p> </p><p>

Gonna try and focus hard on telling stories, I used very few storylines <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Just finished the second APW Rip Chord invitational (now a 32 man 2-day event) since buying out MAW. Day 1 got a 74 and Day 2 a 81 (my best show to date and largest crowd - 5400) - 5 real time hours to book everything</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

title holders and most recent defense (prestige of title, match rating)</p><p>

APW World (100): Ross Henry def. Marshall Dillon by DQ, Dillon retained (82)</p><p>

APW X-Division (100): Yellow Flash def. Fox Mask by DQ interference, Fox mask retained (73)</p><p>

APW All-American (64): Roderick Remus def. Diablo Duvak (52), this is formerly the MAW American Title</p><p>

APW World Tag Titles (90): Henry Bennett and JOJI def. the MAW Elite (Deuce and Davie) (69) in a rematch of the keith classic 5 months ago</p><p>

APW Rip Chord Invitational (100): Jack Avatar def Roy Edison in the finals of a 32 man event (71)</p><p>

APW Keith Classic (98): Henry Bennett and JOJI def. the MAW elite (Deuce and David) to win this and the inaugural tag titles (66)</p><p> </p><p>

Notable non-title (70+) matches from the event</p><p>

Jack Avatar def Roderick Remus in the semi-finals 73 (Remus defended before the event so he could compete instead of defend the title)</p><p>

Roy Edison defeated Miller Fforde in the semi-finals 70</p><p>

Jack Avatar def mimic in the quarter-finals 81</p><p>

Roy Edison defeated Diablo Duvak in round 2, 79</p><p>

Jack Avatar def Cameron Jones in round 2, 79</p><p> </p><p>

Not rated the greatest, but Miller Fforde pulled upsets in round 2 and 3 over Bryan Holmes and Danny Patterson (who's on my #$@#list)</p><p> </p><p>

Several people gained ~10+ pop from the event. Miller was the biggest gainer, with +15.</p><p> </p><p>

My ref that we thought was stagnant and capped at 62 is now 64, and my other brands ref, who has been stagnant at 66 all along is now 68.</p><p> </p><p>

There were 7 positive incidents on day 1, awesome.</p><p> </p><p>

I had my best month, +155K and think I found my next star in Oscar Mcfly, a dojo grad who I almost fired after multiple incidents, but who completely changed his personality after fox mask took him under his wing and has been quickly gaining pop after giving him a few wins</p><p> </p><p>

Also notable, Saisho got saved by a 25 million dollar donor, so they will not be going out of business. They are about to hit regional, I'm hoping they use the money to create a broadcaster and take off - checking the editor they do appear to have spent 10 million, but no evidence as to what it was spent on. UEW is now in the negative. 21CW is improving but still 20+million in the hole. USPW fell to cult</p>

<p>So in my Burning Hammer game which is on September 2016 I decided to cut a working agreement deal with TCW and ran my "USA Supershow" in New England, which went live on the Burning Network (my own broadcaster). I made a few talent trades with TCW and NOTBPW (I plan on running a Canadian Supershow, Mexican Supershow, etc.) and also "borrowed from development" several american and mexican stars from Hinote Dojo REBIRTH (my dev. territory) for this show. I even hired Willie York for a meaningless one shot deal. This is not my highest rated show (I constantly get A's in Japan) but I am very proud of the end result.</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event:</p><p>

Elemental III defends the Burning Junior Title over Healiakon (B+). Elemental just dethroned Sensational Dragon after winning the Best of the Super Juniors for the fourth time and I am building Heliakon as the man to dethrone him. This was their first encounter with the remaining matches being staggered over the next few months as Heliakon comes closer and closer until he eventually does beat him.</p><p> </p><p>

WE ARE LUCHA! (Guerrero Muerto, Hijo del Relampago & Mr. Lucha III) defeat Julian Watson & The Rebelllion (Shimedzu & Natsu Miyamae) (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Marat Khoklov retains the King of Fighters title over Logan Wolfsbane ©</p><p> </p><p>

Black Magic (Masuno & Taira) retain the Burning Tag Team Titles over The New Wave (Guide & Scout) (B+)</p><p> </p><p>

Kinnojo Horri retains the Burning World Championship over Sammy Bach (C+) (They did not click <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )</p><p> </p><p>

Shaininggusuta (Razan Okamoto & Tsuneyo Yanagimoto) defeat QUICKSILVER (Black Flash & SILVER, who is a repackaged Fuyuhiko Wakabayashi) (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Atsunori Takemura defeats Bryan Holmes (B-). Holmes is a teacher at Hinote Dojo.</p><p> </p><p>

SATO retains the Burning Openweight Title over Giant Brody (borrowed from development) (C-)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Sensational Dragon defeats Edd Stone (C+) (Stone was all over the place and ruined a personal dream match)</p><p> </p><p>

American Panther (American Optimus & Red Panther) retain the Burning Junior Tag Team Titles over California Love Machine & American Flash (borrowed from development) (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

8-Man Tag:</p><p>

MURDER Club (Toshitala, the Keith Brothers & Bulldozer Brandon Smith) defeat Eisaku Hoshino (he is leaving as a freelancer at the end of the month), Willie York, Buddy Garner (only works events) and Bryan Vessey (I just signed him and this was his debut) when Toshitala pinned York. I am building Toshitala as the leader of MURDER Club and next main event challenger for Horri. (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Tadayuki Kikawa defeats "The Ace" Aaron Andrews (B-). I am using Kikawa as a special attraction now, but I am considering another run as King of Fighters.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Mahirito Masuko over Masked Cougar (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Hiroaki Nakasawa over Eddie Peak (C+) (12 minute Wild Brawl and Peak gassed). I am building Nakasawa as a man without fear for a feud with Marat and putting him over another monster made sense.</p><p> </p><p>

PUNK Nasty Club (Toju Munkata, Hitomaro Suzuki & Kazunori Yamura) defeat Art Reed (teacher at Hinote) and two of his students, Masked Stranger & Joffy Laine (B-)</p><p> </p><p>

Koshiro Ino defeats "Big Money" Brandon James (teacher at Hinote) (B+)</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Kokan & Konda over The Hunting Cats (El Jaguar & Midnight Tiger) who where borrowed from development.</p><p> </p><p>

MYSTIC Dragon over Extraordinario Jr (also from development)</p><p> </p><p>

Tanyu Toshusai and RISING SON (Shingen Miyazaki & Tadakuni Toshusai with overly patriotic Japanese gimmicks) defeat Brother Yoshitaka & DISCO Boys </p><p> </p><p>

Kill Switch (Frankie Perez) over Roderick Remus.</p><p> </p><p>

8-man Tag: </p><p>

Team TAPOUT (Washi Heat, Kirk Jameson, Sterling Whitlock & Konrad Makinen) defeat Java & 3 dev. students (X-Calibre, Death's Head & Powerful Man.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<p>So I've had RVD in my company for close to two years now and he's only wrestled a grand total of maybe ten matches for TNA. How does that work?</p><p> </p><p>

REHAB. CONSTANT REHAB. he's spent a combined year and a half (first stint was 7 months. Second stint was 9 months) sitting in rehab. He's still doing soft drugs but thankfully he's gotten to the point where I don't have guys complaining about him being high in the ring anymore. I sent Jeff Hardy once for 9 months and he cleaned right up and doesn't do anything anymore. Rob can not be stopped. Only reduced.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway I've decided to reward Rob for his commitment to doing a little less drugs each time by setting him up for a big feud with AJ Styles over the world title come slammiversary. Here's hoping he doesn't get caught having issues again.</p>

<p>I haven't been playing too much (have a nice NYCW run going, but the constant talent raids have me needing to take a step back and rethink a lot in that game...)</p><p> </p><p>

But I still found some time to change my avatar. I wonder what it could mean?</p>

Storm Spillane came back with Steroids, so I fined him.</p><p> </p><p> Ernest Youngman developed a pain killer addiction, I assume after his torn pectoral injury after a botched move. So I sent him to rehab at the beginning of the game (he got injured in Jan 2016), and I haven't had an issue with him since he got back. Before I sent him to rehab, I'd constantly be bombarded with everyone he worked with complaining he was high lol</p><p> </p><p> Rehab sets people back a lot in my game, Ernest Youngman was set to get a fairly big push at the beginning of the game, and I'm now in Feb 2018 and I am just now motivated to give him a push. He's been an Enhancement Talent or Opener since coming back from rehab, he's finally a Lower Midcarder! Partially because by the time he came back, my roster's average popularity had risen much higher than his, as he wasn't around to grow with everyone else.</p>

Rehab sets people back a lot in my game, Ernest Youngman was set to get a fairly big push at the beginning of the game, and I'm now in Feb 2018 and I am just now motivated to give him a push. He's been an Enhancement Talent or Opener since coming back from rehab, he's finally a Lower Midcarder! Partially because by the time he came back, my roster's average popularity had risen much higher than his, as he wasn't around to grow with everyone else.

Absolutely. I'm about two and a half years into my game, and she's been out for a good half of it, so the rest of the roster's popularity has grown hugely while she's been out. Similarly one of my Upper Midcarders has just returned from maternity leave, and now she's a Lower Midcarder. Ah well!

It is a bit understandable. They were away from the public eye for a while, so now they have to reestablish their fan base. It would be the same if someone like Stacy Keibler tried to come back with WWE, yes, people know her, but they wouldn't care as much as they did right when she left.

But that makes it more interesting. You get to see if you can rebuild their momentum and popularity quickly.

In honor of Kimbo Slice I signed Big Magic, made him an in ring worker with stats on the level of Big Smack Scott. Gonna give him a big midcard push. Planning on having him win the North American title off Joey Morgan in a 3-way where he pins Paul Huntingdon. Then I can start legitimizing Morgan's main event feud.

Hopefully I can get Big Magic popular enough to main event a ppv for the world title against either Remo or Bruce.

Good logic :)

<p>I put on a 6 man MITB Ladder match made up....</p><p> </p><p>

1. Kevin Owens (SD Brand)</p><p>

2. Sami Zyan (SD Brand)</p><p>

4. Dolph Zigger (Raw Brand)</p><p>

5. Apollo Crews (Raw Brand)</p><p>

6. Baron Corbin (Raw Brand)</p><p> </p><p>

I created a Stunt Bump for Sami Zyan which was a success but Rusev got injured on his spinal cord by an Apollo Crews botch during the match</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>He's out for a YEAR!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

I had big plans for Rusev <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

[EDIT]</p><p>

just noticed the "surgery" option (not sure if thats new to TEW 16' or not) but <strong>Ru-Ru will be back in 6 months now </strong><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> :)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I tried to do surgery on Randy Orton who was coming back in 42 days, it went wrong and now wont be back for a year <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> :(</p>

Pretty big stuff in my MAW game, but not necessarily to me. Jack Bruce got hurt and will be out for a year, but SWF rebounded by poaching Nicky Champion from USPW. TCW, meanwhile, has ping-ponged back and forth in status, and I wound up being able to sign some of the talent they let go (Edd Stone, Darryl Devine, Brent Hill, and Killer Shark). Stone was cut completely, Shark walked out, and Devine and Hill both signed open contracts. Given the dearth of talent in MAW (especially following the predictable poachings of Greg Gauge and Roderick Remus), that's been a godsend.

starting a slow financial war with the big companies by trying to steal or at least raise the cost of their talent. I lost a bid on Matty Faith and Jumbo Jackson, but followed the contract changes with Jackson and when I bowed out, USPW had raised the price 6K and then 7K/month and 4K for sign on, but then lowered it 8K. Still a good deal though as they'll be paying 76K more over the 1st year.

edit to add the 21CW just went under and david stone has entered wrestling and will likely be accepting my offer which is pretty cheap.
