R.I.P. Prince

Every time I think of Prince, I always think of the great sketch about him on Dave Chappelle's Show. That has to be one of the best comedic sketches I have ever watched. In fact I just watched it a few minutes ago and I am still laughing over it.

I wonder what he's been doing for the past years, there wasn't so many news about him lately.

He's been touring and releasing albums pretty consistently. As well as recording music he doesn't release.

There is probably enough unreleased Prince music to have a new album every year for quite awhile. He has always been really selective about the songs he actually releases to the public.

IIRC there is a vault of music, documentary and such that he wouldnt let be released until after his death.

Weirdly enough, I been hearing more and more about this exact topic, right up til' he died.

I really didn't expect this one to die, just seemed like he had a lot more to do here...

Some of my favorites: Controversy, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Uptown, Do Me, Baby, Delirious, Sign o' the Times, Thieves in the Temple, Isatiable (I Still love this song), and of course Adore (Best, Most Requested, Could have been a number one song on various charts but never released as a single, IMO).

RIP Prince.

I hate that he's gone, but I can't help looking forward to the eventual releasing of what is probably a huge collection of music.

In an interview he mentioned being "old-school" and not purposely holding off on releasing songs. He said he believes in albums, and songs going together on an album. He might have three here or two there, or 7 over there, that go together, but not a complete album. My point is... when these songs do inevitably come out, don't be surprised to find 1980's Minneapolis sounding Prince, with Jimi Hendrix blues sounding, Bob Dylan Inspired writing, all the way to modern type music with an obvious "Prince" sound, all on one album... something he would never do.
