I dig it, smwilliams. Looks like it's got a bit of clever in the recipe. I like that.

:)

Thanks! Looking forward to getting it started. Europe is a tough starting point given the general lack of talent and 21CW starting to encroach on the region. Hope the writing style is a nice mixture of modern and classical.

JSV 6AM NEWS

Tuesday, Week 1, January 2016

Police are investigating a car crash that left two people dead early Tuesday morning. Officers responded to a crash report near the intersection of Sendai-Miyagi IC and Ayashi Bypass around 3:50 a.m.

Officers believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in backwards crash into oncoming traffic. According to officers, the two backseat passengers, believed to be WEXXV owner Ryu Kajahara and the company's world champion Munemitsu Senmatsu, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Tohoku University Hospital in extremely critical condition. The identity of the driver remains a mystery, however there's some early indications that alcohol might have played a part in the accident.

The sudden deaths of Kajahara and Senmatsu leave a massive void in Japanese wrestling as a whole and for WEXXV as a company. More on the story when we get the latest details.

Well, I've suffered a second computer crash, and my idea ended up being identical (!) to Tiberious4's excellent EX2010 diary. Hopefully this won't kill my 2013 diary, but either way, my 2016 diary will have to wait a bit.

I'm taking a few days to formulate what I want to do -- I'll likely take an existing company and "re-brand" it to something else -- it was my original plan with my first major diary but with USPW now the top promotion, I'll likely choose someone else.

Expect to hear from me in ~week or so after my computer situation is spoken for.

I'm putting the final touches to a 21CW diary. I've got a video trailer and everything (everything meaning badly done photoshops and even dodgier prose)

Jeff Nova was many things.

He, as anyone who had ever seen him in the flash could attest, was physically huge, dwarfing almost anyone he ever met. He was heavily muscled, a legacy of his many years as a professional strongman. Even pressed into a suit there was an air of palpable menace around him, the sense that any moment he could reach out and crush the life from a man with his bare hands. But for all the fear he could generate he was charismatic with an easy charm honed by years of celebrity and television hosting jobs. Beyond that though he had the aura of a star. It wasn't just his size or his muscles or his charisma. It wasn't even the fact that he was already a star. It went deeper than that. Jeff Nova struck me as the sort of man who even if he removed himself from the public eye, even if he let his muscles shrink and his charm disappear, would still seem like a star. Rich, charming, famous… Jeff Nova had a lot going for him.

He was also notoriously proud, hotheaded when riled and bad at poker.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e63/consortium11/3256437915_e1f0aaa69a_z.jpg

Not a good combination.

Me? I'm nothing like Jeff Nova. When Jeff Nova enters the room, all the lights seem to focus on him. The lights don't focus on me. In fact there always seems to be a conveniently placed shadow wherever I sit, illuminated only by the gentle smouldering of my ever present cigar. Even if you only met Jeff Nova once you would remember every detail of his face, that image sketched into your mind. Five minutes after you met me you'd struggle to remember if I was a man or a woman and 10 minutes later you'd forget even that. Jeff Nova strides the earth like a titan, the ground quaking in his wake, people falling away as he passes. I tread lightly upon the earth and leave barely a footprint, my passage not even a memory and my actions having consequences that none would ever trace back to me. Jeff Nova has a name and a face known world wide. My name and my face will never be known. I like it that way.

I am the Grand Avatar.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e63/consortium11/The%20Grand%20Avatar.jpg

And I am rather good at poker.

Which is why I now own 21st Century Wrestling.

All in on a 6 and 9, off suit. How did you get this far in life Mr Nova?

And how did you miss the pair of aces hidden under my sleeve?

"Stan"
said a deep, booming voice,
"we meet again"
. He walks towards the balding, timid man, and shakes his hand, firmly.

The two sit down at a small, round table. An assistant serves tea.

"Listen, Stan"
, says the first man,
"You and I both entered this industry for the same thing: profit. A man like Kyle Rhodes? He is okay, I guess. Does his job. But my first assumption, as a viewer? Looking at Kyle? I'd think
'This is Tommy Cornell Wrestling'
"
.

Former TCW CEO Kyle Rhodes

"Mr. Komine"
, responds Stan Dorkly,
"I agree.. of course, it was meant to be a temporary solution... but my employees, I had to m...make them feel at home"
.

"Listen",
says Kaneie Komine putting out the cigarette.
"You didn't spend several million dollars to
'make people feel comfortable'
. You spent that money as an investment -- and it was the right decision, mind you, to invest now. This is a boom period unlike we've ever seen, a new golden age".
"But that, that is besides the point, Stan"
continued Kaneie
"point is, I created the largest company in the world, at the time, and since I left they have entered clear decline. I can bring you that profit, just hand me the reigns"
.

BriCo, owners of Total Championship Wrestling

Stan thinks for a minute. He offers his hand to Mr. Komine.
"Kaneie, you have my word. I will motion to appoint you TCW C.E.O"
. He continues
"Ms. Willis, please inform Kyle he has been demoted".

OK, I figure this is as good a place as any to ask for some feedback.

I've now gone through a few months of my MAW dynasty (click there to go to the thread). I've run some good shows, I'd like to think I've got a few compelling storylines going on, and I've even brought in some genuine big names. However, in terms of engagement, my stuff just isn't getting over. No predictions for cards I post, very little feedback, etc.

I'm not trying to pander for attention, I just want to make my dynasty thread as good as it can be. Any suggestions anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to think I'm doing decent work, but if there's something I should be doing that I'm not doing, I'd like to know about it.

I saw a post detailing how Alicia Strong had moved from USPW to AAA, and had set the the steroids to 15% (making her eligible to be the promotion figurehead with the increased Star Quality and Sex Appeal.

Rather than AAA, I was thinking of starting as a small promotion (Hard difficulty, I think). I am ok with using the starting pop for that, but what would the starting funds be? I can't see her starting a company with a $10k budget.

**This would be an all women's promotion, or like Lucha Underground it would be integrated.

If I had to guess, it's probably due to lack of substance/flash. What I mean by that is if you look at most of the popular dynasties on here that get a lot of predictions and following, guys have graphics (sometimes custom they've made for their dynasty), wrestler photos, detailed segments/matches, etc. Where as your dynasty is more just straight to the point with 1-2 sentences on each match, no photos, no logos, nothing.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your approach. And if that works for you, cool. But readers seem to enjoy the more jazzed up bells and whistles approach. I think it at least partially shows that the writer is taking things seriously and putting forth extra effort. So people give it a chance. It draws them in.

Granted, I could be completely wrong. Just speaking from personal experience and what I've observed.

Much obliged! That's the reason I asked. Other people have been around these parts MUCH longer than I have, so I wanted to pick brains and see what I could do better. Thanks for the insight!

After a lengthy meeting with Ted Turner, Jim Herd (pictured above) has been sacked from his role as Executive Vice President of World Championship Wrestling. Turner was apparently less than impressed by the recent actions of Herd who appears out of touch with the wrestling world as a whole. Creating a lumberjack with dancing bears and suggesting a hunchbacked tag team (who couldn't be pinned) were just some of the list of hair brained ideas Herd concocted. Rumours are even circulating that he tried to pitch a team of bell wearing wrestlers called the Ding Dongs.

As bad as these ideas were it's his failure at managing the backstage area that really cost Herd. The Road Warriors and The Midnight Express (excluding Eaton) walked out of WCW because of him, and there are rumours that both Ric Flair and Stan Hansen wouldn't have been far behind them.

Turner needed someone the locker room respected who had knowledge of the wrestling world. Enter Harley Race.

A true legend of the NWA, he helped build the likes of Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair. Not seen on WCW TV since October 1990, he injured his shoulder at a house show ending his in ring career. Can he find a new career as the booker of World Championship Wrestling?

They say that you can't keep a good man down.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Cream rises to the top.

They say the suspect always goes back to the scene of the crime.

Salmon will always go back upstream to spawn.

The swallows always return to Capistrano.

They say you can never go home again.

Not everyone deserves a comeback.

Old dogs can't learn new tricks.

They say you need flash and gimmicks to get ahead.

The old style just won't work.

Tradition is just a piece of dead driftwood that's been washed out to sea.

I say...

Mistakes are fun.

Age is an illusion.

And the tide...

The tide is coming back in.

"It goes without saying that 2015 was not a good year for WWE. Far from it in fact; from bad booking decisions, to wasted opportunities and forcing wrestlers to the top and letting the little guys down, it explains the reason why many people say that WWE is going down, I even heard some people say that it might not last throughout the year.

But don't worry; that's not likely to happen. At least, not under my watch. I can assure you that 2016 will be a much smoother year for us all in WWE...

Don't expect any promises though."

Less of a preview, as my diary has just started, more of a general question...

Previously I have liked to post my shows like this.

I just use snipping tool and paint, nothing special but it's quick and easy. I then upload it to photobucket and just post the image. But now when I'm trying to do it, the picture won't keep it size. I've tried uploading it to photobucket, imgur and tinypic but every time when I view picture it's only a small version.

Does anybody know a way around this? I have over a dozen shows written up in this format and don't like the idea of posting them small. In a worst case scenario people will just have to zoom in... but that's just a pain for everyone.

Sometimes it doesn't like large pics on here, or maybe its the image hosting sites? I don't know, but it works for me with my roster pics. There's two for this diary (5 for the latest WWE one)

Many stars have and gone....

Many have failed to make their mark on the business....

Some of them went to bigger and greater things, but failed to impress....

Some have succeeded, but have had their credibility ruined in the process....

And others? The elite group, not only those who have survived, but have thrived; destined to become the future world champions of our business....

Cameron Vessey, Findlay O'Farraday, Bulldozer Brandon Smith, Casey Valentine, Matthew Keith and Greg Gauge; these names have become synonymous with the MAW name.

Who will be the next?

One thing is certain....In MAW....
