Over the past year, I've been trying to work on completely updating Risky Business to take advantage of the new features of TEW 2016, and had intentions to update Main Event and release Young Guns. However, there are times that real life has you thinking about what to do. I had one such moment during WrestleMania week and weekend, as I started to ponder how to balance whatever free time I get. Lately, when updating Risky Business, I've been hitting a brick wall that I'm sure other modders have hit from time to time. I do some work, then I just hit a proverbial brick wall. So here's the status of everything:

I intend to try to finish updating Risky Business. If nothing else, I want to get the location portion finished so that I can release that as it's own file for the community to use and make it to where it can plug and play into any mod. Other than updating RB, I am stepping away from making full game world mods. For me, it got to a point where it was starting to feel like work, and the time I put into TEW, I want it to be fun. That leads me to let everyone know that after talking to justtxyank, I am happy to announce that he has accepted the task of taking over making a 1993 mod. I felt he was the best candidate to take it over as he has already released 1991, is working on 1992, and theretofore he will have a great base to work with already. As for Main Event, any experienced mod maker who wants to release a February (or better yet, January so that we can run the first ever WWF Royal Rumble if we like) 1988 mod, and has the time to work on it, have at it.

As for me, I'm not leaving here anytime soon. I feel that I'll be at my best making small contributions such as the aforementioned location plug and play file that is based off the locations from Justtxyank's 1991 mod. I also intend to release a plug and play move set database that any and all modders can use. And with there not being any pressure now, who knows, I might be able to stick with a diary this time! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I want to thank everybody here who's been warm and welcoming, has shared laughs and good chats, and has helped me to understand the inner workings of TEW. If I start listing off everyone by name, we'll be here all night. So I'll just leave you all with this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP1fMJXwEtY

Completely understand on the free time front. I've had to cancel everything except RWC currently. Glad you are intending to finish Risky Business... you're name would be mud to me if you didn't!!! <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> "Adulting" is hard! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Sorry to hear that Matt. If you ever want to ease back into it or even just work on certain plug ins etc you know the team will always welcome you <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Thanks for all the kind words and PMs, folks. ^_^

No need to be down and glum about me taking a step back on the modding side of things. I don't think you would have gotten my best effort if I kept trying to plug away at something my heart wasn't into. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Genadi, I have some things I might just be able to help add to the Mod Squad stuff. Just tell me the time period, and I'll go from there. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Jaysin, you'll be glad to know that I'll be sending justtxyank the work you did for AAA back on TEW 2013 when he gets a chance to start working on 1993.

And I talked with Alvarasus via PM, and he offered to tackle a January 1988 mod. Here's hoping he'll churn out some top notch work with both 1980 and 88. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Now I need to go update the first post on this thread so you all know what to expect from me going forward. Like I said, I'll still be looking to contribute to the community, in other ways that I think will be beneficial to all mod makers and players. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

So after taking a break from doing any sort of modding work, much less finishing up Risky Business, I am here to let you all know that I'm back to working on the location portion of the data. I'm thinking that after I get done with that, I could at least release the location data as its own database so that it can plug and play into any database. After that, I'll get back to working on finishing up the rest of whatever work needs to be done on Risky Business, namely the Yet to Debut workers.

Dude I'm so glad you are attacking a locations mod with open close dates!

Feel free to use whatever you want from my work. I hope you choose that naming style as I'm not a big fan of the NY-Madison Square Garden style, preferring just the venue name without the location prefix.

I'm definitely using that naming style as that's my preference. And thank you for allowing me whatever resources I may need, kind sir!

Just a note to everyone that some open/close dates might be the default, or guesses. If you all see that, it means I couldn't find any info or only vague info on the venue. If someone happens to know an open/close date for such venues, don't hesitate to let me know.

Here's an update as it pertains to the Locations data file. Here is a list of the areas that are complete:

USA

Mid South

South East

Mid Atlantic

Tri State

Canada

Alberta

British Columbia

Manitoba

Ontario

Saskatchewan

A few things to keep in mind: Some regions may not have a ton of venues. If upon release you find that some venues are missing, feel free to send feedback and/or info my way about such places so that they can be added. Also, I am utilizing the new Open/Close date feature to account for some venues going through name changes. However, not every single name change will be included, i.e. a venue only being under a given name for less than five years. Including every single frivolous name change would bloat the data in the end. For example, I've included AT&T Stadium (which hosted WrestleMania 32), but didn't include Cowboys Stadium because it was only Cowboys Stadium for a scant few seasons until AT&T bought the naming rights.

However, I did try to include the ones I felt I could justify for modders who want to utilize this with any era.

I will be sure to update this thread when an area is completed to keep you all up to date on my progress.

As a player who scouts and specifically places nearly every show to be a "tour" and is constantly looking up arenas to make sure they are open at the right time and under the correct name, I absolutely cannot wait to have access to this.

Little update time. I decided to go ahead and tackle Europe since it's pretty sparse and so far I have made great progress. All of the venues that were already there from justtxyank's base from the locations he made for Rising Storms on the 2013 edition of TEW have now been updated with proper open close/dates (some left at default if no info was available, and some months were guessed if the year was listed online but not the month), and now it's off to adding some more venues to give more variety to the new areas that were added: France, Iberia and South East Europe. Also, all Belgian venues have "Lots" selected for French speaking people to go along with Central European speaking people.

I'm noticing a severe lack of popular indy guys in the early 2000's. Granted MSW is #1 in the world seconded by OVW and Chikara. I decided to take the challenge once I hit 2002 to take over as head booker of Chikara and make them over. A couple of years later and now Sheamus O'Shaugnessy is the Chikara world champion.

I did notice a lack of deathmatch guys once you hit the 2000s though. No Matt Tremont, Naptown Dragons (besides Drake), and even BRAIN DAMAGE! A lot of guys like former IWA MS world champions aren't in so there's no we can recreate Tarek the Great's reign as IWA MS champion or Brain Damage's awesome Iron Man title run in CZW.

There's also a lack of major BJW stars as well. It's tough seeing Kenzo Suzuki headlining BJW's cards while Jaki Numazawa and Ryuji Ito are absent from the game entirely. Where's Jun Kasai to connect the CZW and BJW fans? You have Daisuke Sekimoto but not his legendary rival and now 8 time champion Ryuji Ito.

I've been trying to find ways to work these people in so i'm not disappointed when I can't bring Nate Webb to sing Teenage Dirtbag every Thursday night on UPN. It's not really a complaint just a warning that once you hit the early 2000s the game starts to fade in proper new workers unless they've worked for the E before.

I'm pretty sure Matt was in the affected area where the Hurricane hit so he's probably not thinking about this at this time.

That was justtxyank who was affected, unfortunately. Definitely continue to keep him and his family in your thoughts. But I can say that I was getting burned out on the modding side of things and wanted to actually have a chance to play the game.

I would love it. I own TEW 2020 but just cannot get into it. How can I get Mattywoods mod?
