[RELEASE] - Cornellverse 1997 / CV97

Recommended Posts

I'm going to post this here as I'm not sure it is a bug, but I added Scarah in my HGC game. She has absolutely no warning note about being a bad influence at all, but she's now an extremely negative influence on my roster for some reason. Any ideas why? This is with mod v1.02 and the public demo fwiw. Oh, and Peter Valentine is in development so I only have 5 basic negatives on my roster and her extreme negative.

Edit: And why is something benign like knee tendonitis a 13 month injury? I got that first show with Strong, didn't think anything of it until I saw the 13 months and instantly regretted saving my game. An ACL tear is a 6-9 month injury for crying out loud.

First off, this year's incarnation of the mod is better than any prior version. Really enjoying it.

One problem with the mod that I've noticed, and I don't know how to fix it while maintaining "historical accuracy," is that there's not a large number of attractive women willing to work in non-wrestling roles. This can really hurt promotions like DAVE unless they go on day one hiring sprees.

Ive found a problem that might have already been solved, but BHOTWG's have signed 57 workers in the first three weeks of my save. Not sure if anyone has picked up on it yet but it is kinda annoying haha. Apart from that, the mod is amazing! thanks for the awesome work :)

It's because of the weight split. They'll essentially double their roster.

I'm using this mod for my RTG game, and I'm loving it. My first experience with the CVerse. Excellent mod, very well balanced, great job, Derek!

One thing I noticed when I took over as Booker of OLLIE was that they had a deal to broadcast their events on PPV in Australia, but I lost popularity every month, even though my pop was 14 and my shows were 80+. I ended up cancelling the contract because financially it made no sense.

Doesnt that mean the game is broken then? Because even with a weight split they dont 90+ active workers all on written deals... that is business suicide.

No, it's working as intended. They will basically run two different "brands" with little to no crossover. That's how it works in real life. The Japanese style is intense, so having a large roster is ideal so no one gets burned out of injured.

Yeah, it is indeed working as it is meant to. That said, I might change the roster size preference for the owner to be a bit smaller so that they don't sign quite as many workers. I may also simply add some workers to the company to expand them a bit.. perhaps even give some of you guys the chance to add some workers to them. There's always room for more people in the Cornellverse. :)

As soon as my WMMA game is over (technically it never it but it gets stale with too much regens) I'll be giving this one a spin. The only thing that concerns me is the lack of narratives. Have you tested this for long games and does the game world anno 2010 somewhat resemble the actual state of affairs. I know you can set promotion debut dates, but it's hard to mimick the changes in the promotions over the years.

Can you do that as a modder now? That's great. I always disliked how a brand split bumped up the worker minimum by a lot.

EDIT:

After looking at the data for AAA (which I intend to play) to immerse myself into the C-verse again, I noticed you changed a lot of workers from their 2015 "small" body type to "LW". The game counts that as around 200 lbs. Isn't that a little too much for most of them? Michelle Brendon, who is listed as "muscular small" is listed as "LW". Shouldn't she at least be "toned" at this point? Any ideology behind these creative changes? I know 10 years can change a lot, so I guess it makes sense somehow. The use can always change things he doesn't like anyway, like the addition of early tag titles, especially with Viccie Stone in it, who is officially never listed as even been in AAA. In any event, great work on this!

Just wanted to come and say thanks again for this awesome mod. I had trouble getting into the regular C-Verse, it seemed to not be great for long term games (old workers, not enough yet to debut, etc). C-Verse 1997 never fails and I'm currently half a year into a game with HGC.

Without question I have played this mod 10 times longer than any C-Verse game ever. Incredible work and I have really enjoyed it.</p>
