"Fighting to Survive"

Have you ever done something in your life that was so important, you nearly drive yourself into the grave to make sure it succeeds? If you haven't, I don't blame you, but I also question your character. Without something to fight for, something to get out of bed for, something to make your life matter, what is there left? That's how I'd describe my relationship with DAVE, and no, DAVE isn't a person. DAVE is a revolution, a company I own that has been open since 1992. By 1997, I was the owner, with my good buddy John "Nemesis" Campbell by my side, we were unstoppable. Not anymore. A decade later and DAVE is on it's knees, out bank account almost empty, guys defecting left and right. It... was almost over. All the sacrifices I made, all he money I put into was for nothing. I was losing an unwinnable battle, many would have given up there and then. Have you ever had you're heart broken? Well that's how it is, optimism fading, money disappearing, a ship sinking. You know you'd think money woes and star defection would be enough to a drive a man to quit, but I got more than just that on my plate. I also have four major players in my company on the shelf.

DAVE's injury List

People would say DAVE is dead and there is nothing I can do to stop it, but I won't stop. I'll never stop, I'll never let the company I built die in a sea of black, stinking of desperation for the suffering to end. No, that's not me. That's not DAVE. We fight til our very last breath and I'll be damned if I let DAVE die now after a decade of hard work. I built DAVE on a certain philosophy and it's not just a product, it's a life choice. You either sit down and take a beating like a b!tch or you stand up knowing a beating is coming you're way and face it head on and hopefully you're will, guts and determination will get you through. I will save this company, even if I die trying.

One of many Saviours

"You wanted to see me Phil"

"Take a seat John, I need you to do me a favour.... It'll contribute to saving this company"

"So, what do you think?"

"If you think it will help our situation, then I have no problem with it"

"Thank you"

"But look Phil, we are still in major trouble. The injuries have essentially depleted our roster, we need more wrestlers."

"Yeah, I know. That is definitely our priority right now. How about you look around for some guys we can use for cheap, we can build them up ourselves"

"I'm on it"

I suppose if you look at our roster you wouldn't think we were in trouble. We have the best manager in America. Some of the most talented young stars in the country. We have something to build no doubt, but if you don't have the money to survive we're done for. Having $250,000 in the bank seems pretty solid and it would be, if we weren't as big as we are. Our marketing and production departments cost us money every day and hopefully we'll be able to get some money from our TV deal. PPV? We don't have one. We were dropped last year. Frankly, we don't have a chance of getting on PPV, unless we make a big splash in our first show of the year. Or create the illusion that one is coming and that is exactly what the plan is.

The first Danger Zone TV of 2007 is upon us and there's plenty of stuff that we need to find out. For one, we need somebody to take on the title of the number one contender for the Unified title. Who else would be in a match of this type but two of DAVE's biggest stars, Shawn Gonzalez and Chris Caulfield, who will come out on top? We also pit Travis Century against Art Reed to decide who will be the number one contender to the Brass Knuckles title, and round off the trio as the McWade brothers take on The New Wave to become the number one contender for the tag titles. Plenty of questions going into this show, hopefully, we'll get the answers to some by the time it ends.

Quick Picks

Adrenaline Rush v The Latino Kings

Number One contender match for DAVE Tag Team Titles

The McWade Brothers v The New Wave

Let's do this, brother! I'm going to check out DAVE in 97, just because I feel I might have some fun booking them, seeing as to how bad they're in a rut right now, I feel I'd be interested in booking their glory days. Save DAVE, man. Take them into 2016 and prove the doubters wrong. I'm hyped!! :D

Not sure who either of these guys are so just guessing here,

Number One contender match for DAVE Unified Title

Chris Caulfield v Shawn Gonzalez

Seeing as Caulfield was the previous champ, and he's one of if not the biggest babyface in the comp.

Really looking forward to this, an interesting promotion and a great period of their history to write. Where DAVE could have gone is something I'm looking forward to seeing unfold.

Adrenaline Rush v The Latino Kings

There are three kings, but I feel like there could be someone evening the odds. Plus, I think Sammy and Teddy have more potential and The Kings can still look dangerous without winning.

Number One contender match for DAVE Tag Team Titles

The McWade Brothers v The New Wave

I like the idea of The McWades and NJ Devils smashing each other's heads in. The New Wave are the best of the three IMO, and I can see the logic behind putting the titles on them soon. However, I'm going to predict that they're not going to become NOC straight away, instead one of the other teams will be built up for them to knock down.

Number One contender match for DAVE Brass Knuckles Title

Art Reed v Travis Century

Reed / Giedroyc would be a great match, I like Art Reed. Initially thought Travis, but changed my mind.

Number One contender match for DAVE Unified Title

Chris Caulfield v Shawn Gonzalez

I'd very much like to see Eddie Peak give Chris Caulfield a beating, I think he can make Eddie look and monster and win or lose it'll help Chris' character.

Don't know much about DAVE - only got into TEW in 2013 - but I'm really looking forward to seeing what you're gonna do with them. Keep up the good work. :)

Mitch:
Hello everybody, my name is Mitch Naess and welcome to the Danger Zone. I'm joined today by my good friend, Phil Vibert. Tonight, we have a huge event for you guys where we find out who will face our three champions at Counter Culture.

Phil:
That's right, Mitch. This is DAVE. We actually put on matches that people want to see and we need number one contenders for our titles belts so tonight we put on the matches that need to be put on, we make our fans happy.

Mitch:
No doubt, Phil. We gotta huge show tonight, lets get it going.

[Teddy Powell sits in his locker room, glancing around the room]

Teddy:
Come on, Cat. I have a match soon.

[Cat peaks her head out from behind the curtain]

Cat:
I'm almost done, it'll be worth your while.

[Cat goes back behind the curtain]

Cat:
Okay, I'm ready.

[Cat appears from behind the curtain with a skimpy bikini on]

Cat:
What do you think?

[Teddy's eyes widen as he fumbles over his words]

Cat:
That's settled, you like it.

"Long Time Friend"

[At this moment, Sammy Bach enters the locker room, going straight for Teddy]

Cat:
Hi Sammy

Sammy:
yeah, hi, whatever Cat. Listen Teddy I need you to do me a favour.

[Teddy gets up off his feet and nods to Sammy]

Sammy:
I need you to take this note to The McWade Brother, it's urgent apparently.

[Without questioning, Teddy takes the note and leaves the room, Sammy can't contain himself as he smirks devilishly. We hear a "What the Hell is this?" coming from the McWades and a large thumping noise. Teddy returns to the locker room holding his face, his cheek glowing red, Sammy bursts out laughing.]

Sammy:
Man, you should not bring a note to the McWade's saying "I think you look like a fat pile of sh!t", that kinda stuff will get you hurt.

[sammy continues to laugh as Teddy looks unimpressed]

Sammy:
Aw, come on Ted. It's just a joke between two buddies. Look we got a match coming up next, put your anger into that. I'll see you out there... buddy.

"Friendly Actions?"

Mitch:
That... that's friendly banter?

Phil:
Yeah. You wouldn't know anything about that though Mitch.

Mitch:
Why's that?

Phil:
Cause you have no friends.

Mitch:
Uh, aren't you my friend?

Phil:
Yeah, sure Mitch.. Sure you are.

Mitch:
Anyway, Teddy and Sammy have a match against The Latino Kings, and that's up next.

Adrenaline Rush (Sammy Bach & Teddy Powell)w/ Cat Jemson v The Latino Kings (Hector Galindo & Rudy Velasquez)

  • The match begins with Powell and Velaquez in the ring. Powell is more technical than the aggressive Velasquez and the Latino Kings work him over in the early going

  • Despite their rookie status, The Latino Kings keep fresh, tagging in and out regularly and targetting Powell's face and keeping him away from his partner.

  • However, a flurry from Powell gets him the comeback and Galindo looks in trouble however, powell isn't wuite able to capitalise due to drowsiness from the beating his head has taken tonight.

  • However, he shakes off the cobwebs, Powell hits a vicious dropkick to Galindo and knocks Velazquez off the apron. He screams loudly to the approval of the crowd as he looks for the Motion censor (Roundhouse Kick).

  • As he sets it up, he backs into his corner, but to his shock, Bach tags himself in.

  • Galindo makes it to his feet and is hit with a Bach on your Back (Bodylock Inverted Sleeper) and Bach pins him for the win.

Mitch:
Sammy just stole the win.

Phil:
Sammy didn't steal anything, his team won, Teddy shouldn't care.

Mitch:
Well, it sure looks like he does, a blatant show of disrespect.

Phil:
Mitch don't talk crap. Their team won they're happy.

Mitch:
Well, it's not like we see The New Wave behaving like this and speaking of The New Wave, they have a match against The McWades to decide the number one contenders for the tag titles.

The New Wave (Scout & Guide) v The McWade Brothers (Dallas & Dean McWade)

  • The match begins exactly as you'd expect with Guide and Dallas hitting each other with vicious clubbing blows.

  • Both teams are known to be top quality tag teams, and we see that early on as whenver either team takes control, there are regular tags to keep each other fresh.

  • Eventually, the McWades take control targeting Scout.

  • The McWades use vicous brawling tactics and really beat down Scout.

  • However, Dean gets caught by a swift inziguri kick counter and Scout crawls over to Guide and tags him in for a huge pop.

  • Guide goes wild battering Dean and even knocking Dallas off the apron before he hits a Guided Missile (Northern Lights Bomb) on Dean.

  • He then gets Scout and they hit the Wave of Mutilation (Tag Tower Legdrop), Guide then pins Dean for the win.

"A War Returns"

[in the ring, The New Wave begin to celebrate as they become the number one contenders to the titles. The rapid crowd cheering them on.]

Mitch:
And there we have it Phil, our number one contenders.

Phil:
You talk about a hard hitting match Mitch, this one has gotta be up there. What a brawl.

Mitch:
No surprises there, but you gotta say that The New Wave may just be...

"Spoiling the Party"

[Entering onto the ramp, Braun holds a mic in his hand, all the while Tank stands beside him. The crowd boo the arrival of the Tag team champs as Braun begins to speak]

Braun:
So, that's it is it? The DAVE originals win again, The New Wave.

[braun puts his head down, chuckles and shakes his head]

Braun:
You people just don't realise that these so called "DAVE originals" ain't sh!t. DAVE ain't sh!t. Time and time again you refer to how "you won the war". I'll admit you won the battle, but the war still rages on, I am the legacy of a defunct promotion in this company and my good friend Tank Bradley here is not being trained the DAVE way, he's been trained the best way, the right way. At Counter Culture, I'll look forward to destroying more DAVE originals, and destroying their precious hardcore sh!tty wrestling revolution as well.

Rating:
64/C

Mitch:
Well, it's never a surprise to see Phil but Alex Braun means business.

Phil:
Braun thinks he's great for being the last to hold a title for a promotion that died almost ten years ago, until the revolution became too much and he was beaten, like the rest, by Johnny Martin. He's past it Mitch, much like his beloved dead promotion.

Mitch:
Well I don't disagree with you Phil and at Counter Culture, The New Jersey Devils have one of the biggest tests of their reign so far.

Phil:
Much like Jack Giedroyc, after the next match.

Mitch:
No matter who wins these matches, Phil, our champions will have a huge test. There are no easy match-ups in DAVE

Art Reed v Travis Century

  • Century and Reed approach the match very differently as Reed is more technical while Century is more of a brawler.

  • Reed takes advantage early using his quickness and technical prowess to tie Century up in knots, despite not dealing much damage

  • Century gets a few power moves in but none that keep Reed down.

  • Reed then suddenly grabs the arm and looks for the Dread Lock (One arm underhook Camel Clutch), but Century is able to power out of it.

  • Century hits a nasty clothesline on Reed as he rushes forward though and the momentum shifts.

  • Century breaks out the power moves, some that cause some real damage to Reed's shoulder, not only to set up his finisher, Salvation (Shoulder Breaker) but also to hinder Reed's effectiveness with the Dread Lock (One Arm underhooked Camel Clutch)

  • Reed is finally able to get out of the rut and begins to flurry, he rushes forward but Century uses his momentum to pick him up and hit Salvation (Shoulder Breaker) which gives Century the win.

"The King of the Underworld"

[After the match, Travis Century grabs the microphone, puts his head down before he speaks]

Century:
I.... am a follower. A man who will follow a leader to the very end. My leader... is Lucifer and in just a few short weeks, he will guide me on my mission. He will guide me to what my goal is. My true goal. Jack Giedroyc, you better be ready. You are my target, you are what my future holds and when it's all said and done, you will follow Lucifer too.

Mitch:
.... Travis Century is weird.

Phil:
Yeah, but he won and that makes him the number one contender.

Mitch:
Jack better be prepared for this, it won't be easy. At Counter Culture, Jack faces a real tough challenge.

Phil:
Are you forgetting something Mitch?

Mitch:
Definitely not, Phil. I know what's up nex......

"The Agency"

[Mitch's speech is suddenly interrupted by the theme song of Emma Chase. Joined by Joey Minnesota, Chase walks to the ring with Minnesota in tow. She gets a mic and begins to speak.]

Chase:
Hello everybody, my name is Emma Chase. The owner of the famous talent agency, The Chase Agency. I have been hired by the board of directors to find the next superstars to secure DAVE's future as a successful, profitable company.

[The fans boo viciously, hating the fact that Chase is calling DAVE a company]

Mitch:
DAVE has a board of directors?

Phil:
This is news to me just as much as it is to you.

Chase:
And due to this connection between I and the board of directors, I have negotiated a deal to place my client, Joey Minnesota, into the main event. The winner becomes the number one contender for the Unified title and Joey Minnesota will be the winner.

Rating:
70/C+

Mitch:
What kind of crap is this?

Phil:
Hey, if the board of directors say so, we can't argue.

Mitch:
You just mentioned on how that might be a lie.

Chris Caulfield v Shawn Gonzalez v Joey Minnesota w/ Emma Chase

  • The match starts prety slowly as Caulfield and Gonzalez attempt to rid of Minnesota and fling him out of the ring.

  • Caulfield and Gonzalez have a minor exchange as they tie up, but can't do much before Minnesota is back in, hitting both men with strikes.

  • He then runs off the ropes but Gonzalez and Caulfield hit him with a double clothesline.

  • Gonzalez then turns immediately and hits a nasty kick to the gut of Caulfield and he takes control

  • Gonzalez is firmly in control when Minnesota retuns and the two exchange

  • Gonzalez gains control again and Minnesota looks in trouble, Gonzalez grabs his legs and looks for the Latino Crab (Boston Crab) but Minnesota kicks him away

  • Minnesota gets up and Gonzalez dropkicks him over the ropes and out of the ring

  • With Minnesota out, Caulfield charges Gonzalez but gets caught and Gonzalez grabs the legs and locks in the Latino Crab (Boston Crab) tight.

  • Caulfield is in extreme pain as Gonzalez sits down further on Caulfields back and Caulfield begins to fade.

  • Caulfield evetually loses consciousness and the referee begins to lift up Caulfields hands for the submission

    1......

    2...........................

  • No, Minnesota hits Gonzalez in the back with a chair and he releases the hold, Caulfield is still out and the other two men are down.

  • Gonzalez and Minnesota begin to trade elbows until Minnesota takes control

  • Out of nowhere, Minnesota hits the Empire Spiral (Back Suplex into Spike Slam) and pins Gonzalez

    1......

    2...........................

  • No again, as Caulfield comes out of nowhere and breaks up the fall

  • Clearly still groggy, Caulfield is actually up after Minnesota and he looks for the Empire Spiral (Back Suplex into Spike Slam) again and Caulfield turns around

  • However, he counters it and spins around the back of Minnesota and hits the Danger Drop (Reverse Snap Inverted DDT)

  • Emma Chase then grabs Minnesota and rolls him out of the ring to deny the pinfall and attends to him on the outside

  • Caulfield then turns around and dodges an oncoming Gonzalez, hits the Danger Drop (Reverse Snap Inverted DDT) and pins

"Peaking your Interest"

Mitch:
He did it! Chris Caulfield defeats all the odds again. After being knocked unconscious by the pain of Shawn Gonzalez' Latino Crab, but he came back ans regained his composure to come out and top.

Phil:
Gonzalez had him though, Mitch. Chris got lucky.

Mitch:

Phil:
I guess his luck ran out

Mitch:
Ran out? Peak is taking a cheap shot as his challenger.

One week down, plenty more to follow as once again DAVE Danger Zone TV is back on Thursday night. After Eddie Peak's sneak attack last, the DAVE Unified champion has been put in a match against none other than the Brass Knuckles champion, Jack Giedroyc. Both men have difficult match ups coming up at Counter Culture and a win for them could really help their momentum. Plus will Chris Caulfield show up? Also, Joey Minnesota faces off against Acid as he will want to forget about his loss last week. Art Reed is also on that wavelength as he faces Nathan Coleman this week. While Teddy Powell hopes to have a much better week this time around as he faces one half of the tag team champs in Alex Braun. However, what kind of mind set is Powell in after last weeks shenanigans, all of these questions will be answered this Thursday on East Coast Today.

Quick Picks

Alex Braun v Teddy Powell

Art Reed v Nathan Coleman

Acid v Joey Minnesota

Eddie Peak v Jack Giedroyc

Please Note, This is DAVE. All matches are no DQ unless specified. We are real men, unlike other promotions.

I'm hyped!! :D

Thanks a lot Dave_Scott. Appreciate you following the diary. Hopefully I can keep that excitement in you for the foreseeable future DAVE in 1997 is loads of fun. Also thanks for giving a brief insight into how you picked your predictions, I'm really interested in people's opinions.

Really looking forward to this, an interesting promotion and a great period of their history to write. Where DAVE could have gone is something I'm looking forward to seeing unfold.

Thanks 20Legend. I hope I can achieve a lot with this diary, and the DAVE surviving scenario is one of them. Also, thanks a lot for putting in your thought on why you picked who in your predictions. Again, I'll mention I'm fascinated by peoples analysis of why they think somebody in general will win.

Don't know much about DAVE - only got into TEW in 2013 - but I'm really looking forward to seeing what you're gonna do with them. Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks for predicting. :). Hopefully I can give you an insight into what DAVE was like when it was an active promotion, but obviously you don't need that much help as you scored 100% with your predictions. :p

Great show! Despite my predictions not being too good, I really enjoyed that.

Thanks again for the complement Jaded. But hey man predictions aren't everything. As long as you have fun reading and predicting on the diary, I''l be happy :)

First show was awesome can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Hitman. Hopefully I can get up shows fairly regularly while I can. I won't promise anything, but I hope this diary will run for a very long time with regular updates. Oh, and thanks for predicting. :)

Good first show, established some of your characters well early on. I don't know if that's just Sammy Bach's personality or if it's going somewhere, but I expect him to have a singles run soon. Phil's line "Hey, if the board of directors say so, we can't argue" having just said he didn't know there was one made me laugh.

Alex Braun v Teddy Powell

Tank helps his partner, Sammy is busy or botches his save

Art Reed v Nathan Coleman

I like both, so I simply went off their pushes. Nathan Coleman feels like somebody who might not be in the title picture, but will always have good matches. I think Art has more potential long term

Acid v Joey Minnesota

The Emma Chase factor to be decisive, maybe leading to a rematch at Counter Culture.

Eddie Peak v Jack Giedroyc

Chris will be looking for revenge, but I think he'll wait until after the match. Travis Century won't wait until after the match.

Alex Braun v Teddy Powell

I see your dislike for Sammy Bach is carrying into how you portray him, and I love it. He'll somehow screw over Teddy here.

Art Reed v Nathan Coleman

Art Reed needs to bounce back with a win, and Coleman's not someone I really see ever breaking out of the pack.

Acid v Joey Minnesota

I suspect Emma Chaise will give Joey the edge here.

Eddie Peak v Jack Giedroyc

Peaks & Giedroyc are both champions, but Peak's is the more important belt and Travis Century has already said that he's going to screw over Jack.

Mitch:
Hello and welcome back to the most extreme and violent action on TV. You... are now entering the Danger Zone, I'm Mitch Naess, joined as always by Phil Vibert and tonight, we have a huge main event.

Phil:
Two of the biggest stars in DAVE at this present time go one on one as the Unified champ Eddie Peak faces Brass Knuckles champ Jack Giedroyc.

Mitch:
What a huge main event and one thing is for sure, Eddie won't have Chris Caulfield to worry about, last week after Peak's brutal attack on the number one contender, Caulfield had to go to the local emergency room, suffering from some minor head injuries and we've been told, Caulfield will not be here tonight.

Phil:
That's a huge advantage for Peak, as we know Giedroyc will have to keep an eye out for that weirdo Travis Century, you can bet he'll be lurking around.

[sammy Bach and Teddy Powell sit in their locker room. Teddy is quiet, keeping to himself, Sammy is talking on the phone to somebody]

Sammy:
(On Phone)
Great so when will you be here.... Perfect, I'll let him know... Okay see you then.

[bach hangs up the phone and turns to Teddy]

Sammy:
Look, man, I know you're upset over last week, but we won right. However, I did feel a bit guilty and I asked a friend of mine to come cheer you up. Here she is now.

"Sammy's "Friend"?"

[A scantily clad, blonde lady comes into the frame.]

Sammy:
Teddy, this is Willow, and she is very... friendly.

Willow:
Hey, Sammy never told me how buff you looked

[sammy looks at Teddy and winks at him. Teddy sighs, puts his head down]

Teddy:
Look Sammy, I understand you are feeling guilty, and I appreciate you trying to make me feel better. I accept your apology and I appreciate you trying to set me up with somebody so... nice, but I already have a women and you know that. I gotta get ready for my match, I'll talk to you later, nice to meet you Willow.

[Teddy then leaves the room and Sammy turns to Willow and shrugs]

Sammy:
Well..... seems I've already paid for your.... services, I guess I'll use it.

Willow:
You are my best customer.

[Willow begins to drop down lower, before we cut back to the ring]

"Sammy Looking for Trouble"

Mitch:
Well... uh....

Phil:
What?

Mitch:
Sammy is a bad egg.

Phil:
Hey, we all need our shoes shined at some point, it's Teddy's fault he missed out.

Mitch:
Shoes shined?

Phil:
Yeah, don't think you're better than the rest, your shoes get dirty too.

Mitch:
How about we get into the action?

Teddy Powell w/ Cat Jemson v Alex Braun w/ Tank Bradley

  • The match starts slow as the competitors feel each other in the early goings

  • Both men are tactical in their attacks, but it is very fast paced once things get going.

  • A boot to the face in the corner rocks Powell, and Braun is very much in control

  • However, the plucky underdog comes back with an inziguri

  • Both men get to their feet at the same time and Powell rushes towards Braun

  • Braun counters by using Powell's momentum to lift him up and Powell crashes into the turnbuckle

  • Braun attempts to take advantage but can't as Powell scurries away before unleashing a vicious kick to the face

  • Teddy waits for Braun to get up and turn around for the Motion Censor (Roundhouse Kick), but Braun hits a sweep kick.

  • Both men get up at the same time but Braun is able to take advantage and is able to hit a Braun Damage (Sitdown Piledriver) which gets him the three count.

Finishing Move:
Braun Damage (Sitdown piledriver)

Mitch:
Teddy can't get the win, but he put up a good fight.

Phil:
Not good enough it seems.

Mitch:
I guess Braun proved why he is one half of the tag champs.

"Hardcore is not wrestling"

[Alex Braun asks Tank Bradley to grab a mic and brings it into him. Braun pauses for a minute to take in the crowds boos]

Braun:
Yeah, go ahead. Reign down the hate. I don't care at the end of the day, another one of your DAVE originals are crushed under my excellence.

Phil:
Well, Teddy didn't exactly start here

Mitch:
Yeah, but we accept him as our own.

Braun:
My rise to the top of DAVE will be rapid much like RPW's rise. Tank and I will show you RPW's legacy, and we know what DAVE is like. Sitting at your desk twiddling your fingers and typing "I'm Hardcore" to each other on your precious hardcore wrestling forums, but newsflash, hardcore is not wrestling.

[braun again pauses as the crowd becomes more volatile and louder boos reign out from the crowd]

Braun:
It's just a reason for talentless hacks like The New Wave to consider themselves "wrestlers". When really, they are just ordinary, idiotic, untrained fools much like all of you.

[braun points out to the crowd and turns in a circle]

Braun:
One last thing, I...

"Defending DAVE's honour"

[At this point, The New Wave's music bellows around the arena to the cheers of the crowd. Braun and Bradley turn to the entrance way and ready for their opponents, however, Guide and Scout come through the crowd and attack The New Jersey Devils from behind. Battering them with big clubbing blows, Braun and Bradley roll out the ring and to safety. The New Jersey Devils back up the ramp shouting obscenities to the challengers]

Rating:

Mitch:
Yeah, go The New Wave.

Phil:
It's rare we agree, but in this situation, we agree.

Art Reed v Nathan Coleman

  • Reed again is up against a bigger man in Coleman, and uses the same strategy that worked last time out.

  • Reeds quickness is again on display but Coleman is ready for it and he is able to catch up and attack him

  • Coleman hits Reed with clubbing blows to the back but reed pops up and hits a dropkick

  • The match continues with both men putting in some work, Reed gets the upper hand by hitting a drop toe hold followed by a seated senton

  • Reed looks for the Dread Lock (One Arm underhooked Camel Clutch) but Coleman powers out, flinging Reed across the ring.

  • Reed comes back again clubbing Coleman in the back before hitting a shining wizard

  • Coleman is down, and Reed is able to finally lock in the Dread Lock (One Arm underhooked Camel Clutch) and Coleman taps almost instantaneously.

Dread Lock (One Arm underhooked Camel Clutch)

Phil:
No doubt at all, Mitch. Reed's Dread Lock is dangerous.

"Never Give Up"

[At this moment, Emma Chase comes down to the ring with her client, Joey Minnesota. With his match on next this isn't much of a surprise, but she then grabs a mic.]

Chase:
Hello everybody, my name is Emma Chase. The owner of the famous talent agency, The Chase Agency. And last week, my client was robbed. Everything was going to plan until Shawn Gonzalez got in the way. Mr. Minnesota was going to hit the Empire Spiral, get the win and go on to become the new Unified champion. We blame you Shawn Gonzalez. Unfortunately, Mr. Gonzalez got himself injured. So, my client is going to have to take out his frustrations on his opponent tonight. If we could.....

Krzzzz....zzzvvvvvv.....chhhhhhhh

[At this point, static comes up on the titantron and static noise comes up around the arena.]

"From his Hospital Bed"

[At this point, a live feed from the hospital of Shawn Gonzalez comes up on the screen, the fans cheer as an ill looking Gonzalez appears on the screen. His stomach area covered in bandages with his hand on top of it, Gonzalez begins to talk]

Gonzalez:
Whoa, whoa, whoa. If anybody should be pissed off right now, it should be me. I was right there, the Latino Crab locked in, Caulfield unconscious, that title shot was mine, but your client ended that.

Chase:
My client didn't do anything wrong. He was making sure that he won. My Agency has corporate backers that must have Minnesota as the future of DAVE, and thanks to you that has been pushed back, he's destined to be a star and nobody can stop him.

Gonzalez:
I'll tell you what, my prognosis means I'll be ready to go two weeks from now, this means I can fight at Counter Culture. You wanna push Minnesota to the moon? How about he faces me at Counter Culture? That'll prove if he's ready for prime time or not.

Chase:
You know what, you're on. When Minnesota beats you, he will definitely prove he is ready to be a champ and my corporate backers will all that.

Gonzalez:
Excellent, oh and Emma. Let me tell you, there's only one thing your corporate backers will see and that is that your client is most definitely not ready for prime. Good luck in your match, you're gonna need it.

Acid v Joey Minnesota w/ Emma Chase

  • Acid is vicious in his attacks and Minnesota is taken by surprise

  • The crowd counts as Acid lands kick after kick to Minnesota's abdominal area

  • Acid then hits a dropkicks Minnesota and falls to the outside

  • Minnesota regroups on the outside with Emma Chase while Acid climbs the turnbuckle

  • Acid attempts to fly, but Minnesota and Chase separate and Acid crashes and burns to the outside.

  • Minnesota takes control and slows the pace down, methodically picking his spots.

  • Acid is ravenous though, and he comes back with flair and vicious strikes

  • Acid then hits a springboard hurricanrana and both men are down

  • Chase is shouting at Minnesota to get up but Acid is up first

  • Acid climbs the turnbuckle and looks for the Acid Rain Bomb (Swandive Senton Bomb) but Minnesota moves and again Acid crashes and burns, this time to the canvas

Mitch:
I didn't think he could do it, but when you can beat somebody like Acid, you know there is something special about you.

Phil:
Well, Emma wouldn't have been able to get the DAVE's board of directors on board if he wasn't

Mitch:
That's true but... wait a minute, you found out there's a board of directors?

Phil:
No, I didn't

Mitch:
I don't even know anymore

"Concentrating on the prize"

[Walking to the ring, his Brass Knuckles title wrapped around his waist, Jack Giedroyc walks intimidatingly to the ring, a lady walks up with a microphone]

Interviewer:
Jack, quick question, are you worried about Travis Century?

Giedroyc:
Century will get my attention at a future date, right now, my focus is on my match. Eddie Peak is a big task, and if I can beat him I can put myself in the Unified title conversation.

"Creepily Appearing"

[At this point, Travis Century appears in a dark red robe]

Century:
Jack, you have been chosen. There is no way you can defy your destiny, it as been decided by a prophesy, a satanic prophesy. Our match at Counter Culture, it's outcome has already been decided, Lucifer will help me to achieve my goal.

[At this moment, Jack Giedroycs looks back at the interviewer, one eyebrow raised in disbelief]

Giedroyc:
As hard as it will be to clear that kinda weirdness from my head, I'll have to.

[Giedroyc then turns to Century]

Giedroyc:
Don't worry Century, you've peaked my interest but tonight I have bigger issues than you, so if you could excuse me.

[Giedroyc then pushes past Century and to the ring]

Rating:
75/B-

Mitch:
Man, that could be a huge mistake by Giedroyc

Phil:
Course not, Century is a good guy, he ain't gonna disturb anything.

Mitch:
Yeah cause satanic followers are usually full of cheer.

Eddie Peak v Jack Giedroyc

  • Peak begins the match like a crazed maniac, but Jack has him scouted and constantly gets out of Peaks way

  • Eventually, Peak does catch Jack and the two trade blows to the head.

  • Peak however, is more powerful and Jack becomes dazed and Peak flings Jack to the other side of the ring

  • Peak then tries to hit a kick to the face in the corner but Jack moves and hits a German suplex and both men are down

  • Jack is up and looks for Crashing On (Kneeling Jaw Breaker) but Peak counters by pushing Jack into the counter and then hitting a clothesline

  • Peak is in control and looks to end it, he picks up Jack for the Peak of Perfection (Crucifix Powerbomb) but Jack slips down and gets a schoolboy, but Peak kicks out at two.

  • Jack hits a stiff looking clothesline to Peak and both men are down

  • Jack is up first and measures Peak for the finish.

    "Causing a Distraction"

  • As Jack looks for the final blow, Jack urns around and Travis Century is standing on the ramp, still in his robe

  • Jack shouts at Century but Century stays put

  • Jack turns right into a Peak of Perfection (Crucifix Powerbomb) and Peak gets the win

Winner:
Eddie Peak by pinfall in 14:59

Finishing Move:
Peak of Perfection (Crucifix Powerbomb)

Rating:
74/B-

Mitch:
Aw no, Century cost Jack a huge upset

Phil:
The match was very competitive Mitch, we don't know what Jack was thinking, but he had it under control at that time

Mitch:
I'd love to see this match again, Jack can beat Peak, he proved that today

Phil:
I don't think so Mitch, Caulfield is the number one contender and Peak gotta get past him first.

"You are the Establishment"

[After the match, Peak gets a mic and begins to talk]

Peak:
People ask me time and time again, why did I attack Chris Caulfield? It's pretty simple really, he's a f**king lier. Chris Caulfield considers himself to be the very essence of the "anti-establishment", rebellious, revolutionary figure of DAVE. Yet, if there is an event for DAVE, who's there in his suit and tie to represent the company, Chris Caulfield. When somebody from the DAVE roster is asked to do a make a wish, who's there smiling for photo's Chris Caulfield. Everything Caulfield says he is, is a lie, he is the exact opposite. Whether you stupid people like to admit it or not, DAVE is an establishment, and who is the face of this establishment. None other than your precious Chris Caulfield.

[The crowd are viciously booing Peak, cheering "We Want Caulfield"]

Peak:
Keep chanting, he ain't coming. When I see Chris Caulfield I see one thing, and that is the very thing that he hates. He is this establishment, but what do I care. It's this right here.

[Peak lifts his Unified title to the same level as his face]

Peak:
This right here that dictates everything. Let Caulfield do the PR, let him do all the good stuff. At the end of the day, the thing that gives you power in this company is this belt right here, which means that I am the power in DAVE, I hold the power. When Caulfield is outside this arena, he can do what he wants, but he knows, once he enters this arena, I rule, with an iron fist.

Rating:
66/C+

Mitch:
Well, Peak seems ready for Chris Caulfield. However, what he said, isn't going to sit down well with "The Hardcore American". That is all we have time for so from everybody here at DAVE including my partner, Phil Vibert. I've been Mitch Naess and we'll see you here same time, same place next week.
