[Beta Release] GIF'fing the Cornellverse!

Recommended Posts

Click on the image, press U (Fuzzy select tool/Magic Wand, treshold around 40-60). Hold shift and click on the blue areas you want to remove.

It goes a little faster when you use the "select by color tool", unless of course you're dealing with the Blue Meanie render. :p

To contribute to this amazing work that will forever ring through the ages, I've converted some alternative renders from the respective thread here. It was done rather quickly so the quality's not that great, but it's something. I'm planning on starting a AAA game and I just love how the Angel wings come out of the background that I had to do it. :p It's basically the C-verse women and the Stone family, but feel free to use them to spare you the effort of doing it. Credit to the renderers themselves obviously.

Oh man that's great. I have a ton of re-renders I use in my games, about 1,100. So I have copies in a separate folder, I have to turn all those into gifs, this will certainly help a bit.

awesome work. any chance of a .zip file instead of .rar?

Can you not open .rar files with winzip or any other packing program? I haven't heard that (.zip) used in so many years, everything I ever see is in a .rar.

ps. I've taken these couple of days as a short hiatus from the mod as I spend almost a week working on it non-stop. Now I've actually got to play the game (and other games) and just really enjoying these few days.

The latest TEW2016 patch 1.4 adds the support for background logos for the News and Workers screen!

http://sadhappy.mbnet.fi/TEW2016/14patchbackground.png

LIST OF CHANGES

(1.04)

Added generic background for GIF pictures on a variety of screens (NB: automatically uses _Blank Background.jpg from the Pictures \ People folder as the background; if a file of that name is not found then no background will be displayed)

Finisher, I gotta give you props again for the effort you have put in....I am trying to work my way through converting all of the alts I had in my people folder that I transferred from TEW2013 (with default jpg at around 3500, my people folder was carrying around 6000 several of which were from the rerender threads and not yet default images). I'm going to consider releasing an rar file of the alts for people to add once I'm done, but it may be quite some time. Anyway -- Thanks again, Finisher!

This is great FIN really appreciate the hard work. I have quite a few renders that are different. Going to try and do them also,. I have seen a couple of people talk about programs to do it. What would be the easiest for an idiot like me.

Awesome work FINisher. Thanks for doing this!

One thing I noticed is, people should also mass edit the Alter Egos or they will use the default jpg files.

How could I miss that :D But one thing I noticed that some of the alts lose the pathways to those alts when editing it. I'll have to run tests when I can to see which one is the right choice to pick.

ps. Lost the sticky. :(

1.08 patch notes:

Mass editing alter egos to GIF used the wrong file name

So now the alter ego mass edit should work also :)

ps. I've taken a hefty break from finishing this project, polishing up the images because of work. We'll see when I can finish it, but if you're playing promotion x and have a worker y whose image looks horrible, please let me know so that I can fix the photo for you! The promotions I play and the workers I use seem to have been of great quality with no blue background leftovers but I'm 100% sure there are 100-200 images that have that so if you want something to get fixed, please reply here

FIN,

What you did here was nothing short of amazing and is truly appreciated. I just wanted to point out however, that when you saved some of the images, you saved them as different names than what the worker's names actually are in game and when I've done my mass switch overs from jpg to gif and back, a lot of images were dead paths. It wasn't hard to fix, but just an fyi, you may want to throw that disclaimer into the post.

Again, thanks for this.

Forget what I said. Upon further inspection, it wasn't FIN saving them as different names. It was the pictures not being named the same as their name in game. For example, K.P. Avatar's picture was only named KP Avatar, so when you did the mass edit, it messed things up because it was assigning the picture to K.P. Avatar and there was no such picture.

my bad chief, my bad!
