About the eventual Steam version

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I know Adam said that it would eventually be on Steam but as far as I know he didn't said when.

I'd rather buy it on Steam for many reasons. Is there any update on Steam Release date? Or if I buy the game today, will I have a Steam CD Key on it's Steam Release? As a developer with a game on steam myself, I know Steam is willing to give the devs as many keys as they want for free, so it would be natural to do it.

In 2016, in pc gaming world, Steam should be the primary objective of any studios...

Good question. I'm holding off on buying TEW2016 because I've had issues with eLicense -- to this day, I can't get my WMMA4 license to work -- but I'd rethink my purchase if I could get a Steam key in the future.

No, there is no new news on the release.

I don't know about the steam keys, I imagine we wouldn't be able to give a definitive answer on that until we actually had an agreement in place to distribute.

The Steam's cut is under 20% depending of many factors. Usually we noticed that for "indie" studios in America, the cut is around 14%.

Now, would you prefer having 100% of the sales you can get by yourself or 80% of the sales presented on 11 millions screen?

I would also suggest you to present your game on Steam Greenlight. The fee is $100 usd. All you need to do is to be in the top 100. For my game that meant 2000 yes votes. A game like TEW that should not take more than a month and Greydog Software wouldn't need any Steam Publisher.

Anyways. Can't wait to play TEW, the demo is awesome. Thank you Adam.
