Twenty-four years as a pro. Septimus Stubbs really can't believe he has been going that long, but the past few years he has been feeling his age. He has taken less bookings that involve him doing ring work and he has been thinking about just dropping everything and becoming a road agent. It is good work. Fun work. And the past few years he hasn't had nightmares of him having to work with Big Daddy Horne or The Tsar as his boss. Things have been peaceful for the veteran.

 

That all was about to change as he heard a knocking on his front door.

DDD: *Incoherent Mumbling*

 

Septimus: "Oh hell no. I know what this is about. I fell asleep and this is another nightmare. Well no, the answer is no!"

 

Septimus slammed the door shut before there was a retort from Drifting Dom Drago. Next thing he knew there was the sound of his door exploding into splinters and the world went black.

 

Drifting Dom Drago doesn't take no for an answer.

Septimus Stubbs doesn't know how long he was out. All he knows is he is slowly awakening and finding himself in a corner table at a dingy bar. Several empty bottles along with paperwork are strewn about the table and stone faced Drifting Dom Drago is sitting across from him.

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Septimus: Ugh, the hell? Why do you weirdos always come after me? Is this a dream? This has to be a dream just like the last two.

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Septimus: "No, don't give me that story again. You are replacing my door with what little money you have. How do you expect to run a-"

 

Stubbs is cut off when a large tote bag full of money is dropped onto the table. It sends a few bottles clattering away.

 

Septimus: "Where did you get that?"

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Septimus: "Your other job? What the hell do you do that nets you that kind of cash?"

 

Things remain silent. Dom doesn't say a word and Septimus Stubbs soon finds himself not wanting to know just what his 'friend' might do for his other job.

 

Septimus: "Fine....I'll do it. But let me handle finding a place and hiring talent."

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Septimus: "You already started hiring people? Who the hell did you grab?"

 

That is when a strangely misplaced mountain near the bar starts to move and turn about.

Incident!

 

The other wrestlers backstage were very upset about how selfish Boot Camp Mikey was being and it was bringing the whole locker room down.

 

Stubbs Response: "Who the **** is Boot Camp Mikey?". Boot Camp Mikey was quickly kicked out after it was found out he wasn't even under contract.

The show starts with a well dressed Lillian O'Donahue coming out to the ring. She adjusts her glasses and observes the crowd for a moment with a calculating gaze before speaking to them.

 

Lillian: On behalf of the board of directors I would like to welcome you to our first show. Twelve men will be competing tonight for a chance to move on in a tournament that will crown our first champion. Six will move on while the other six will just have to start proving themselves to be a proper challenger once the champion is crowned. Gentlemen. Good luck.

Bryant Hall vs Rob Edwards

 

Both men are in great shape and have plenty of athletic prowess. Hall is a bit more unpolished and sticks with some heavy hitting to try and keep the match to his advantage. A tactic that works well until Edwards manages to take Hall down and starts to take advantage of his superior submission skills. Hall tries to fight back and when he does finally get back to his feet he finds himself getting his head kicked off with a vicious roundhouse from Rob Edwards.

 

Winner: Rob Edwards

Drifting Dom Drago vs Kenny Poulter

 

Drago is showing his age, but he still is a tough man that doesn't make things easy for Kenny who tries to use his wrestling skills to take the veteran out. Dom is not above cheating though and a nice thumb to the eye allows the brawler to start landing some heavy hits on Kenny that rock the younger wrestler. Kenny is on Crazy Leg Street when Drago comes off the ropes and hits him with a stiff lariat. It is enough to get the veteran a win tonight as well.

 

Winner: Drifting Dom Drago

A young and bitchy looking lady steps into the ring. She has something of a devious grin that comes across her face as she takes a moment to look over the crowd.

 

Taniko: I am Lady Taniko Jo and you will stand in awe at the destruction I bring to Bad Boys of Australia. There is no need for a tournament for I have not one, but two men that could easily destroy this entire roster! I give to you your overlords....Sulphur and Annihilus!

Sulphur steps out first looking as mean as any man can be. As impressive as he may look Annihilus is even larger and more well built than his colleague. The pair say nothing as they stand on each side of Taniko Jo and do what they do best which is look mean as hell.

 

Taniko: Be amazed as both men lay out their competition and bow to your overlords now!

Moonchild vs Annihilus with Taniko Jo

 

Sulphur moves to sit with the crowd as Taniko stays at ringside to bark orders at the large Finnish man. It doesn't seem like he needs much motivation as he just grabs Moonchild and makes quick work of the hippy. A few big forearms and a headbutt lead to massive hands wrapping around Moonchild. The youngster quickly taps out to that Choke Grip before he passes out.

 

Winner: Annihilus

Sulphur with Taniko Jo vs Wes Schnorfestt

 

Wes has a bit more luck than Moonchild did. He at least manages to land a few quick hits and a dropkick before Sulphur starts to treat him like a ragdoll. He too wins quickly after a few big hits before hefting Wes up and dropping him with the Depths of Hell.

 

Winner: Sulphur

An angry Septimus Stubbs comes his way to the ring. He seems all business as he gets in the ring and points to the back.

 

Stubbs: I know who you are and you best just stay back there and let me have the win here, Lee. What you got tonight is a fight and not a damn wrestling match and you can't win, but if you want your face kicked in I am more than happy to oblige. Let me see if you can suplex with broken arms.

Lee Bawes vs Septimus Stubbs

 

Stubbs keeps true to his word and when Lee gets in the ring he gets a fight. Fists fly and Lee is staggering about trying to get an opening to strike back. Once he finally does things turn around quickly. He hefts up Stubbs and nails a big German suplex that throws the veteran off kilter. That is when Lee turns the tide in his favor and starts using his wrestling prowess to toss Stubbs about and remain in control. Stubbs goes for a bit forearm to try and swing momentum back in his favor, but Lee ducks and then hefts Stubbs up again. Lee nails the Brainbuster on the veteran and then picks up the win.

 

Winner: Lee Bawes

Hardcore Henderson vs Harley Principal

 

Just two big men beating the hell out of one another. It is what they do best and it doesn't seem like either is going to steer too much off course from their plan of 'hitting the other dude in the facemeats'. Credit does have to be given to Harley though as he is the one that sets the pace of the match and manages to make Henderson look a bit better than he really is. He is looking a bit tired near the end when he manages to stun Henderson long enough to heft the other big man up and lay him out with the Pumphandle Slam.

 

Winner: Harley Principal

Stubbs' Take: A lot of work is needed. The heels got the look and personality, but not the talent while the faces have overall better skills, but most like Kenny and Wes have the personality of a wet mop. Bryant and Rob both could eventually turn into good performers. Too many guys getting winded easily too. Will have to be wary of match lengths a lot of the time. Why the **** was Boot Camp Mikey backstage!?

Love the small stories you're always including in your diaries, such as the recent one with that guy called Boot Camp Mikey. Your diaries don't even need elements to ease them at all, but it's nice anyway.

 

You've got one hell of a crap roster there, that's for sure. All the guys not even DIW would hire. But I seriously don't care about it (to be correct, I like it because writing funny diaries is something you're really good at), whether you book the best wrestlers or worst idiots in the world, your diaries will probably always be the best thing to read here.

Thank you for the kind words. I just enjoy doing stuff that doesn't overtax me and make me want to quit on a project early if I can help it. I think that is what made AAW last like it did and hopefully BBoA can last too.....as long as they don't bankrupt.

Both Dragon and Stubbs were going over the numbers. While the show actually got a positive response from the people that saw it there was the glaring fact that the crowd was only a bit above thirty people and those kind of ticket sales don't pay the roster.

 

Stubbs: I told you this was a bad idea. Are you ready to quit before you waste more money, mate?

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Stubbs: You have to be kidding me. You actually suckered some sponsors into giving you more money? I hope it is a lot more, mate.

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*

 

Stubbs: Whatever. As long as I am getting paid I guess I will keep working on this stuff. Any idea on who you want to be champ?

 

DDD: *Incoherent mumbling*
