PSW WEEKLY

Monday, week 1, January 2009

Broadcast on America One on Tuesday late evening

Announcers: Potter & Dusty Rhodes

Bender Arena, Washington D.C.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRW8jPBpRxApSieT6PRiBhPWlGllilJ29WPsjuH3TzeQJoIy0A-

We start the show in the Calgary home of Bret Hart. He speaks of his anguish at nephew Teddy's terrible condition following his brain tumour and also of his anger at the group of four masked men, blaming them for causing it. He vows to find them, unmask them and make them pay. 82

Life of Brians v Motor City Machine Guns

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Motor City Machine Guns defeated Life of Brians in 6:30 when Chris Sabin defeated Johnson Brian by pinfall with a Future Shock. 42

CM Punk is backstage with Chris Jericho. Punk calls the fans idiots for not picking a dream match where Punk beats Jericho for the National Championship. Jericho just laughs at Punk and says he has a worthy challenger at Fan's Choice in Kevin Steen. 65

Jericho performed well. Punk was poor.

Jay Lethal v Matt Sydal

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Matt Sydal defeated Jay Lethal in 9:10 by submission. 59

Potter and Dusty Rhodes discuss the masked group. Potter calls the group scum while Dusty says he has never seen anything as despicable as their actions in all his years in the business. 26

PSW TV TITLE

Roderick Strong (champion, with Sting) v Rocky Romero

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but non-existent crowd heat, Rocky Romero defeated Roderick Strong in 9:55 by submission. Rocky Romero wins the PSW TV Title title. 50

Sting did some good work at ringside.

The two didn't click and it made for an awkward bout.

Roderick Strong's win streak ends at fourteen.

GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

AJ Styles (0-1-1) v Cade Thesz (0-0-1, National Tag Team champion)

In a match that had some good action and average heat, AJ Styles defeated Cade Thesz in 13:30 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. 63

Cade Thesz has lost his last seven matches.

Immediately following the match and with Rob Van Dam not at ringside, Spanish Announce Team run to the ring and hand their Feast or Fired briefcase to the referee. 34

As the referee calls for the bell, the screen splits and as the match starts on one side of the split on the other we see Amazing Red brawling with Rob Van Dam backstage. RVD gets the better of Red and runs towards the arena. 41

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/GenericTagTeam02_zpsa9f639bc.jpg

Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam (champions) v Spanish Announce Team

Cade put up a brave fight but having just lost to AJ Styles, he was never going to get the better of Spanish Announce Team. Rob Van Dam raced down to the ring but was a fraction too late as he couldn't stop the inevitable in 2:35 when Joel Maximo defeated Cade Thesz by pinfall with a Spanish Fly. Spanish Announce Team win the PSW National Tag Team Championship titles. 59

Cade Thesz & Rob Van Dam lose their first match after eleven wins.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSyl37-o6bTLeZT9ESuhwyGONx29alzrhZkXOM14rMoEceBtaIG

The masked group appear. Subtitles show on screen as none of them actually speak which mock Bret Hart and Teddy Hart in a very distasteful way. 13

GRAPPLER'S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION

Chris Jericho (1-0-0, National champion) v Paul London (0-0-1)

In a bout that featured great action and average heat, Chris Jericho defeated Paul London in 13:56 by submission with a Lion Tamer. 78 – match of the night

Chris Jericho has won fourteen matches in a row

Paul London has lost thirteen matches in a row

Paul London is improving in technical skills
