WWE 2008: Revive The Attitude

This dynasty will start in February 2008, just after the Royal Rumble. I'll be playing as Shane McMahon with Vince as the owner. Some would say that the year 2008 was the start of all the modern problems we have with the WWE today. The introduction of TV-PG in late 2008 in WWE's product has been killing the company slowly, destroying it's prestige and momentum. With TV-PG came the awful booking decisions, bad writing and just awful and repetitive programming that to this day is making more and more fans go away. However, my job is to not let this happen. The switch to TV-PG will never happen. My goal in this dynasty is to keep WWE interesting. I intend to keep the product exciting and edgy with amazing story lines and great wrestling. In my dynasty people won't look at 2008 as the year which started the downfall of the WWE. People will look at 2008 as the year which revitalized the company.

I will make lots of changes right off the start, such as ending WWE's ECW... Which was... terrible, to say the least. I did consider keeping ECW around, but it was in a really shitty state and I'm not a big fan of working with brands, especially with 3. Tons of people were released right away. Mostly unknowns from the developmental territories and some other unnecessary people on the main roster. Around 10 new people will be signed with the company. Among these people will be big stars and new young workers, all ready to enter the main roster. Over the initial month or so, more people will be release and new talent will be signed.

<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">BREAKING NEWS:</span></strong></p><p>

After countless reports over the past couple of weeks that the ECW brand launched in 2006 was nearing its end, it's been officially announced by the WWE that ECW will cease to exist at the beginning of February. Both the WWE Creative Team and SyFy were unhappy with the overall show and with the struggling ratings. Therefore both entities have decided that ECW on SyFy has run its course. However, SyFy is still interested in having wrestling on their network and there are already negotiations taking place for the WWE to air a new show on ECW's old time slot. While nothing as been confirmed yet, this new program that may debut in the future will aim to be a recap show of both RAW and Smackdown!, but will also feature exclusive matches with young up-and-coming stars.</p><p> </p><p>

As for the ECW talent that are now left without a brand, they will be drafted by both the RAW and Smackdown! brands over the following week on WWE.com.</p><p>

  • 1 year later...

<p>Monday Night RAW - Week 1, Feb, 2008</p><p> </p><p>

You might have noticed this diary is from 2016 and that I never really updated it since then. This is because I got super tired of wrestling around that time and eventually stopped watching and following wrestling (and playing TEW). So, I pretty much never started this diary. However, recently with all the hype around RAW 25 and the Royal Rumble approaching I got the urge to not only start watching wrestling again, but to also play some TEW. I logged back on this forum that I always loved and came across this old diary that never amounted to anything and I want to take another shot at it... It was a pain having to find this 2008 mod again. Anyways, I'm planning to actually update the diary this time, so I hope you enjoy.</p><p> </p><p>

Monday Night RAW - Week 1, Feb, 2008

LIVE FROM THE ALLSTATE ARENA IN ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS

http://rs386.pbsrc.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/TEW13/TEW13%20Real/JimRoss2_zps352dd80d.jpg~320x480http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af135/Mark_Dimbleby/tew%20story/Jerry_Lawler3_zps3fc4b711.jpg

As the Monday Night RAW theme plays over the arena's PA system and pyro goes off all through out the Allstate Arena, the camera pans across the rabid WWE fans in the crowd, ready for some high octane wrestling action. The camera eventually reaches the announcer's table, where Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcome us to another edition of Monday Night RAW. They talk about last night's Royal Rumble, which saw the surprising return and Royal Rumble win of John Cena. They also say that now with the Royal Rumble behind them, it's time to look forward for WWE's next PPV... No Way Out! Both commentators seems very excited about tonight, but before they can continue to run down the show they're interrupted by a familiar theme song.

IT'S JOHN CENA!

http://i41.tinypic.com/2qwn6kn.jpg

The crowd erupts, greeting "The Commander of the Cenation" with an incredibly mixed reaction. Cena walks onto the main stage to soak in the atmosphere as his theme song plays. He runs down the ramp and into the ring and asks for a microphone from ringside. As his theme song fades away, Cena stands in the middle of ring with a big smile on his face while the crowd has some fun trading around chants of "Let's go Cena!" and "Cena sucks!". Cena says he's going to answer the question everyone wants to know, and that was how he’d come back so quickly after suffering such a serious injury. Cena says that he understood that while he was absent, life in the WWE would go on without him and he hated that. John Cena says that he hated wasting his life away in a hospital bed and he did all he could so he could back as soon as possible to action. Cena says that he surprised himself by winning the Rumble, something not even he was expecting. Cena informs everyone that he's still not fully recovered, but he's willing to take the risk of competing at less then 100% to regain his WWE Championship as soon as possible.

John Cena takes this opportunity to adress the WWE Champion, Randy Orton. He says that tonight he's gonna cut the crap and he's going to get right down to business. Cena says he's not going to wait for Wrestlemania, and he's going to use his Royal Rumble title shot opportunity to face Randy Orton tonight in the Allstate Arena for the WWE Championship. The crowd responds with a big pop. Cena calls out Orton and throws the microphone violently onto the ring mat. As Cena's taking off his hat and shirt, getting ready for the match...

RANDY ORTON'S ANSWERING CENA'S CHALLENGE!

http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/02/1453047721-randy-orton.jpg

The fans fill the air with boos as "The Viper" Randy Orton's theme plays. Orton comes out to the ramp with a microphone in hand and takes little to no time to boast about beating Jeff Hardy last night at the Royal Rumble and retaining his championship. Orton says that he's the greatest WWE Champion of all time and it doesn't matter who his opponent is, he'll always defeat them. Orton adds that he may very well be an unbeatable champion and a "cripple" like John Cena won't stand a chance against "The Viper". Orton claims that Cena is an absolute idiot for coming back so soon from an injury and to risk his title shot carelessly, but he accepts Cena's challenge. Orton says that the sooner he fights Cena the better, so he can take advantage of his injuries. He'll put his title on the line against Cena! ... Just not tonight.

Orton says that he would never have a title match on free TV and if people want to see him in a match of this "magnitude" they have to pay for it on Pay-Per-View. Orton announces to the world he will defend his WWE Championship at No Way Out against John Cena!

When the show comes back from commercial the camera is focused on the RAW General Manager William Regal, who is backstage in his office walking back and forth, clearly disgruntled. Mr. McMahon walks into the shot, which makes Regal stop in his tracks abruptly. Regal looks at McMahon and tells him that he didn't plan for Randy Orton to defend his championship against John Cena at No Way Out. Regal says that if this match goes through, there will be no contender for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 24 and that the RAW brand loses the opportunity of having this year's Wrestlemania main event.

Mr. McMahon informs Regal that a good General Manager should always have back up plans. McMahon questions if Regal is indeed a good GM and if maybe he should give the GM spot to someone else. Regal eyes McMahon with a stern look and assures Mr. McMahon that he will come up with something worthy to represent the RAW brand at No Way Out and Wrestlemania 24.

CARLITO w/ Santino Marella Vs. CODY RHODES w/ Hardcore Holly

The camera cuts from the backstage area to ringside where Carlito is making his way down the ramp, accompanied by his partner Santino Marella. The World Tag Team Champions, Hard Rhodes, come out next with their belts around their waists. Tonight it'll be Cody Rhodes in the ring, while his mentor Hardcore Holly watches from the sidelines.

This match was a fast paced contest, with lots of back and forth action between the two wrestlers. However, over the course of the match Cody Rhodes' quickness started getting the better of Carlito. Cody was about to hit Carlito with the "Cross Rhodes", but he was interrupted by Santino who got up on the apron distracting both Rhodes and the referee. Hardcore Holly eventually was able to get Santino off the apron, but Carlito used this opportunity to reverse the "Cross Rhodes" and low blow Cody, while the referee wasn't looking. Carlito gets an easy pin after this, winning the match in 7:12.

After the match both Carlito and Santino run to the back, leaving the World Tag Team champions in disbelief after getting robbed of that win. While it wasn't a clean win, this pinfall victory over one half of the Tag Team champions may put Carlito and Santino in contention for the belts!

After the break, William Regal is standing the middle of the ring ready to make an announcement. He says that since Randy Orton Vs. John Cena will happen at No Way Out, there will be an Elimination Chamber match to decide who's the new Number 1# Contender for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 24. This Elimination Chamber match will be composed from 6 of the best wrestlers RAW has to offer. These wrestlers will be Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, Umaga, Chris Jericho and John "Bradshaw" Layfield.

Regal announces that to heat things up between these competitors, tonight the team of Triple H and Shawn Michaels will reunite as "D-Generation X" to face the team of JBL and, the WWE Champion himself, Randy Orton! Also tonight, Chris Jericho will face Umaga and fans don't have to wait for that match... Because it's happening next!

CHRIS JERICHO Vs. UMAGA

Both Jericho and Umaga made their way to the ring shortly after William Regal's announcement. Jericho had a rough match with JBL at the Royal Rumble that ended with JBL being the winner by disqualification, which means that feud is still far from over, especially considering both men will meet in the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out. Meanwhile, Umaga and Jeff Hardy, who have feuded over the Intercontinental Championship in the past, will also face off in the Elimination Chamber. All of these rivalries will intertwine at No Way Out!

"The Samoan Bulldozer" Umaga started off this match by using his overwhelming strength, throwing Chris Jericho around with ease. Jericho, as the more experienced wrestler, was able to wear down Umaga over the course of the match. At one point in the match both men looked equally strong, but out of nowhere Chris Jericho hit Umaga with the "Codebreaker", picking up a complicated win via pinfall at 10:07.

Notes: Umaga is getting even better at his gimmick. How someone can play a mindless Samoan savage so well is beyond me.

After the match we go backstage where Triple H and Shawn Michaels are discussing about this impromptu DX reunion and going over their tactics to beat Orton and JBL. Triple H says that while tonight him and Shawn are teaming once more, he better not get in his way during the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out. Michaels says he hopes the same from Triple H. The camera fades away back to ringside as both men stare each other down.

We go to ringside once again, where the WWE Women's Champion, Beth Phoenix and Jillian Hall are standing in the middle of the ring with microphones in hand. They hype up how great they are and how they've recently joined forces to become the greatest and strongest women duo of all time in WWE's history. Beth says that together with Jillian there will never be opponents worthy of taking away the WWE Women's championship from them.

BETH PHOENIX & JILLIAN HALL Vs. MARIA KANELLIS & MICKIE JAMES

Beth and Jillian are interrupted by their opponents for tonight, Maria Kanellis and Mickie James.

This match saw Beth and Jillian overpower their opponents quite easily, showing that they really weren't kidding when they said they're one of the strongest women duo of all time! Mickie James was able to put up a little more of a fight, but Maria was being thrown around like a doll. Beth Phoenix picked up the win with a "Glam Slam" on Maria, pinning her in 5:23. A very impressive win for Beth and Jillian. Who's going to step up and take the title away from these two?

Once we come back from the break, Mr. Kennedy is backstage in William Regal's office ranting furiously at the RAW GM for not putting him in the Elimination Chamber match. Kennedy says he's the best wrestler on RAW, and "of all time", and that he's more then worthy of competing at No Way Out for a WWE Championship opportunity. William Regal interrupts Kennedy and says that he should be worrying about the match he has scheduled for tonight and not about other people's affairs. Mr. Kennedy says that Regal's making a big mistake for not including him in the Elimination Chamber and that he'll take out his frustrations on whoever his opponent is.

<iframe width="279" height="155" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/L6v8yeB0tXc" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Shortly after, Mr. Kennedy makes his way to the ring and does his usual trademark self-introduction with a microphone that descends from the rafters. After repeating his name twice, just to make sure no one forgets it, Kennedy says that tonight he won't be held responsible for his actions in the ring. He's enraged that the RAW GM doesn't see the clear talent he has and tonight he's not here to wrestle, but to beat up his opponent. Kennedy calls out his opponent and says for whoever it is to hurry the hell up. After a few seconds of quietness, the silence is broken by a huge pop welcoming...

CM PUNK!

CM PUNK'S ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW!

KScMFUs.jpg

"The Straight Edge Superstar" CM Punk was drafted earlier today on WWE.com to the RAW brand and is the first ECW wrestler to show up on another brand after ECW's termination! The fans chant CM Punk's name nonstop and Mr. Kennedy's expression of disbelief tells the whole story. Surely Kennedy wasn't expecting CM Punk as his opponent!

MR. KENNEDY Vs. CM PUNK

As CM Punk gets in the ring, Mr. Kennedy doesn't waste a second and goes after RAW's newest wrestler and starts beating him down. While the match hasn't even started, Mr. Kennedy delivers vicious punches and kicks to a downed CM Punk. After what seemed like a full minute of beating up Punk nonstop, Kennedy finally backs away and demands for the referee to start the match. The referee checks if Punk can start the match and CM Punk slowly gets back up on his feet and Punk gestures for Kennedy to bring it on!

As soon as the bell rings, Kennedy goes to work on Punk once more. Most of the match sees Mr. Kennedy give CM Punk the beating of his life. Mr. Kennedy goes for his "Mic Check"... BUT CM PUNK REVERSES IT INTO A SCHOOLBOY! 1... 2... 3!! CM Punk picks up a pinfall victory out of nowhere in 3:24!

Punk rolls out of the ring clearly exhausted, leaving behind a dumbfounded Mr. Kennedy! He can't believe Punk just stole the victory like that! What an amazing start to Punk's career as a member of the RAW roster!

RATING:

Notes: Punk and Kennedy have good chemistry. I'm sure they can deliver an awesome match with more time and an actual build.

We cut to backstage where we see JBL watching RAW on a monitor, laughing out loud, making fun of Mr. Kennedy's failure. Randy Orton shows up soon after and asks why JBL's wasting time watching television instead of getting ready for their match against DX. JBL says that he's more then ready for the tag team match later tonight and that he doesn't need Orton to bother him. Randy Orton tells JBL to watch his tongue and to respect the champion. JBL warns Orton that after he wins the Elimination Chamber, he's coming after the WWE Championship and it doesn't matter if it's Orton or Cena he's facing at Wrestlemania... JBL will walk out with the belt! "The Viper" laughs in JBL's face and walks away.

IT'S TIME FOR THE MAIN EVENT OF THE NIGHT!

DX (TRIPLE H & SHAWN MICHAELS) Vs. RANDY ORTON & JBL

Triple H and Shawn Michaels came out first, but separately. It look like this DX reunion really isn't going to be permanent. Still, the crowd welcomes both men with great appreciation. Out next come JBL and Randy Orton, who don't get such a warming reception from the fans in attendance.

This match had lots of offense from both teams, however, after some dirty tactics, JBL and Randy Orton were able to isolate Shawn Michaels and work on him for a few minutes, building up to the hot tag to Triple H. Michaels tried his hardest to reach Triple H, but JBL and Orton cut him off multiple times. However, after finally breaking free from JBL, Michaels tags in HHH who delivers a high knee and Spinebuster to JBL and knocks Orton off the apron. Triple H goes for a pin on JBL, but gets a 2-count only. Meanwhile, Orton, angry at Triple H for knocking him off the apron, decks HHH from behind and starts a vicious beat down on "The Game".

Eventually, JBL joins in on the beat down. Triple H has no support from his partner, as Michaels is still recovering outside the ring after being the main target of most of the damage by JBL and Orton. The referee tries to stop this, but JBL pushes the referee, which prompts him to disqualify Orton and JBL!

Triple H and Shawn Michaels win by DQ in 10:23! Orton can't believe that JBL just lost them the match! Both men start arguing and out of nowhere . . . "RKO"! Orton just floored JBL with an "RKO"! But he's not done yet! Orton grabs a chair from ringside and starts delivering sick chair shots to both Triple H and JBL! Shawn Michaels' up and he finally comes in the ring! He's going for a "Sweet Chin Music" . . . But Orton ducks under it and gives Michaels a chair shot to the back! Incredible! The WWE Champion stands tall over all the 3 men. But he's not stopping! He's continuing the vicious attack with the steel chair! At this rate he's gonna seriously injure half of the contenders for the WWE Championship!

. . . BUT HERE COMES JOHN CENA!

Cena sprints to the ring and runs off the Orton, who escapes under the bottom ring rope, leaving JBL, Triple H and Shawn Michaels motionless. Cena just saved these 3 men from an even worse fate! The show ends with Cena staring down Orton, who slowly makes him way up the ramp with a smirk on his face. We see multiple referees and WWE's medical personnel attending Triple H, Michaels and JBL as the image fades to black.

Hi BootyMan, where do you get this mod from? I have been wanting to do a 2008 WWE Save on TEW for ages as that was when I started watching wrestling. If you could help it'd be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Here you go buddy:

I'm using this Pic Pack by the way: http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=524316

Just convert it from TEW 2013 to 2016. All credit goes to Hurry84 for the database and Shawn Michaels 82 for the pic pack.
