Hello and welcome to my first diary of TEW 2016. Exodus aren't a company I'd played before, but I got inspired to play as them after looking over the talent on their roster and beginning a project to find alternative renders for most of them.

Special Thanks:

-Adam Ryland & Everyone else who made TEW 2016 possible.

-All the graphic artists whose Re-Renders I've used.

-Scottie, whose WMMA Renders formed the basis for most of the Alt-Renders you see in the above image.

-MHero for being a lovable drunken Scotsman.

-FINisher for his GIF Project, which was a big help in some of the graphic work I've done.

-You the reader, who I'm presuming is real and not just a figment of my imagination.

I have to ask are the new renders you used ever posted or did you cut them yourself for this diary after taking them WMMA4?

The reason why I ask is I think those renders you are using are great. I have always wanted to play an EXODUS 2010 game but I never did because it has far too many of those assembly line renders that came out in TEW13 and I hate those renders because they all look pretty much the same. However, the renders that you are using add character to the promotion because they are all different.

EXODUS Path to War

Saturday, Week 2, January 2016

Path to War features a huge six man main event featuring six of the companies biggest stars in tag team action. Commander Kawagishi won the 2015 Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix and will challenge Tsuneyo Yanagimoto for the Junior Heavyweight Championship, but tonight he, alongside long time partner Shimpei Hirose, will team up with the champion to take on a Trio of former champions in the form of Burning EXILE, Silver Shark, and Super Joshuya. A win for the veterans here would put them one step closer to regaining the title, while the Champion and Challenger each seek to build momentum leading into their title match at War.

The co-Main Event of Path to War will see All-Asia Champion Kaoru Shibisawa defend his All-Asia championship against Isamu Kijimuta. Shibisawa energetic karate influenced frenetic striking has proven to be both crowd pleasing and effective, but he will have his hands full against Kijimuta. One half of the Legion, Kijimuta has no interestest in winning fans or friends, only in winning by any means necessary, and has something of a personal vendetta here as he faces against the man who beat his partner for the championship in October.

The Kanto Pitbulls have issued a challenge to the tag team champions, but if they want to regain the tag team titles they'll first need to get past the makeshift duo of Mercury and Midnight Tiger. While inexperienced, Mercury & Tiger share a similar high flying style and a win over former champions would be a great start to a partnership for the two masked men.

Path to War will feature another tag team match featuring Kuemon Hotta and Naoya Shinozaki, normally singles competitors, pairing with mystery partners to fight in tag team action.

However, the renders that you are using add character to the promotion because they are all different.

Here's where all the renders I'm using are from:

Japanese Phoenix, Midnight Tiger, Silver Shark, and Super Joshuya are default renders. Mercury is as Aseamon Alt/Re-Render. Burning EXILE, Kaii Hanari, Musashi, and X-Caliber were posted in a Re-Render thread.

The rest of them are alts I repurposed, mainly WMMA characters from Scottie's photobucket. The exceptions are Shimpei Hirose's base render is a Seiji Jimbo Re-Render by Bull, Shirai Yanagawa's base is a Sozen Ishimori Re-Render by Trell, Tobei Sugimura is a alt of jhd1's re-render of Haruki Kudo, and Tsuneyo Yanagimoto's base is a Bull Re-Render of Mito Miwa. I did have to do a lot of alt-work on some of them to fit the characters, changing hair, facial hair, clothes etc... to bear a resemblance to the original characters.

I uploaded all the Alt-Renders I'm using here if anyone wants to use them: http://imgur.com/a/0KLla

EXODUS 2010: Path to War

Saturday Week 2, January 2016. Kanto, Japan. 847 fans in attendance.

http://i.imgur.com/yW3xzSa.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kEu54ah.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/AEVgtto.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/LJIVgnQ.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/aV5DFQA.png

The show opened with tag team actions as the Kanto Pitbulls head down to the ring as a unit. Their opponents come down individually, and the trend continues as throughout the match the Kanto Pitbulls work as a unit while Mercury and Midnight Tiger lack that team experience and struggle to keep up with their opponents. The match plays out exactly as you might expect, with Mercury and Midnight Tiger getting opportunities to show what they can do, but for the most part being outmatched by their opponents. The finish sees the Kanto Pitbulls hit their patented Knife Thrust (Double Stomp/DDT Combo) on Midnight Tiger to pickup the victory

Blade Kimiyama {W} and Rusher Kogo defeat Mercury and Midnight Tiger {L} via pinfall in 8:32

Rating D+

Post-Match Comments:

Blade Kimiyama:
That was just a taste of why we're the best unit in EXODUS.

Rusher Kogo:
Musashi, Phoenix, I hope you're ready because at War the Pitbulls are coming for you, and we won't stop until the belts are back around our waists!

Naizen's Notes:
A decent enough opener even if the results were never in doubt given that the Pitbulls have a title shot coming up at the end of the month. Midnight Tiger was the weak link, while Mercury really stood out as he showed exactly why Emerald Angel took him on as a protege.

http://i.imgur.com/r1DcRK8.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/Xjh6hZh.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/zc7RDKU.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kEu54ah.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/ZthhP7R.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/Xjh6hZh.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/GPbLQue.png

Kuemon Hotta is the first man out, and decides to do a little crowd interaction before the match, telling the fans that it doesn't matter who his partner is because he's got the muscles to smash Naoki and his partner two on one regardless of who the mystery partners are. This brings out his mystery partner; the debuting Motoyuki Miyake dressed in blue trunks and shoot fighting gear. Miyake seems to take no offence to his remarks, focusing solely on preparing for the match. Naoya Shinozaki is out next, and while he (thankfully) doesn't feel the need to cut a promo on his mystery partner, there is clearly a look of dismay when Monkey Maraguchi's music hits and the youngster sprints out from the back slapping hands with the fans. Kuemon Hotta is openly laughing at Naoya's luck in partner selection, and as soon as the bell hits is all over the youngster, using his size to bully him and throwing him around the ring like a ragdoll.

After a beating from Hotta, Maraguchi finally gets the hot tag to Naoya who sidesteps the charging Hotta and sends him reeling with a big European uppercut that prompts the big man to retreat to his corner and tag in Miyake for the first time in the match. The match suddenly becomes a technical affair as the men trade holds and the rookie, Miyake, shows he is more than capable of going with his more experienced opponent. The match is fairly even back and forth with Naoya Shinozaki in the ring, but after a cheap shot from Hotta, and a big kick from Motoyuki, Naoya is hurt and Monkey makes a tag. Maraguchi briefly runs wild with some fast paced offence, but Miyake shows off his own speed as he nails a running dropkick to the arm as Maraguchi goes for a hand-spring maneuver; capitalizing immediately by locking in the Armbar #128 to get the tap out.

Kuemon Hotta and Motoyuki Miyake {W} defeat Naoya Shinozaki and Monkey Maraguchi {L} via submission in 10:21

Rating: D

After the match Shinozaki walks to the back without bothering to check on his partner, while Hotta celebrates wildly in the ring despite having let his partner do most of the work. Hotta adds insult to injury for Maraguchi by nailing a Hotta Bomb (spinning sit-out powerbomb) on the hapless rookie. Miyake tolerates his partners antics, though does seem a bit wary when Hotta grabs him around the neck and proclaims that they're "Number one!" as they head back up the ramp.

Post-Match Comments:

Kuemon Hotta
:
We're the team to beat around here! Power & Technique, plus whatever Motoyuki brings to the table! We're just too good!

Naizen's Notes:
Motoyuki Miyake has only been wrestling for a year, but has shown tremendous talent and poise beyond his years. He was my first target when it came to new signings, and his style will certainly help set him apart from the rest of the roster. Monkey Maraguchi is a local worker who we brought in on a one night deal for the express purpose of bumping around the ring and eating the pin in order to get Miyake and his team with Kuemon Hotta over without needing to sacrifice one of our workers to do so; and in that respect the match did it's job effectively.

Tsunyeo Yanagimoto
-
Brilliant Light

27 Years Old (8 Year Pro)

175 Centimeters | 81 Kilograms

Trademark Moves: Mikado Bomb (Tiger Bomb), Neyo Driller (Springboard Tornado DDT), Furusawa Armbar, Leaping Enzuigiri

Title History

All-Asia Junior Heavyweight - 1st Champion

Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix - 2012 & 2013 Winner

World Junior Heavyweight - 6th & 8th Champion

Tsunyeo Yanagimoto honed his craft on the independent scene before joining the debut roster of Exodus 2010 for their very first show. A serious and self-confident wrestler, Yanagimoto has always let his tremendous natural talent in the ring shine through. The first ever All-Asia Junior Heavyweight Champion, Tsuneyomoto rapidly rose up the card, and cemented his position as the top young star in the company by winning the Junior Heavyweight Grand Prix back to back years in 2012 & 2013 before winning the Junior Heavyweight title for the first time in February 2014.

Now in his second reign as champion, Yanagimoto's biggest rivalry to date has been with Masao Tsubouchi who defeated him for the title in late 2014; though he would win the title back in the summer of 2015. The two rising stars have diametrically opposed personalities, but have been neck and neck when it comes to talk of who is the face of the new generation of wrestlers in the company.

The co-main event of the night began with the Legion coming down to the ring together with Tobei Sugimura staying at ringside to support his partner in his title match. In contrast the rather stoic entrance of the legion, Kaoru Shibisawa burst through the curtain with his trademark energy while wearing the All Asia Junior Heavyweight title on his shoulder. He did his best to psyche up the crowd as he grabbed a conspicuously placed wooden board from the side of the entry way and smashed it in two with a karate kick before bouncing down to the ring, slapping hands with fans at ringside.

The champion seemed to be one step ahead of his challenger in the early stages of the match, but Kijimuta prevented him from getting any momentum going by repeatedly retreating to the ropes and leaving the ring to confer with his partner. Shibisawa grew tired of this and finally just dove to the outside to take out both members of the legion, but Sugimura saw it coming and pushed his partner out of the way, taking the brunt of the hit but allowing Kijimuta to take control of the match.

Kijimuta worked the champion his opponent for the next few minutes, wearing him down and keeping him grounded before Shibisawa finally began rallying with a series of jumping karate kicks. With his opponent rocked he went to run off the ropes for his Running Palm Strike, but Sugmiura tripped him from outside allowing Isamu Kijimuta to plant him on the mats with a big Sit-Out Powerbomb. Isamu Kijimuta made the cover, but to his dismay the referee wasn't there to make the count as he was too busy ejecting his partner for the blatant interference. Kijimuta began to argue with the referee, but took his eyes off the balls as he gave Shibisawa time to recover, turning around right into a Crane Kick before the champion sealed the deal with a Tornado DDT that landed him a three count.

Kaoru Shibisawa defeats Isamu Kijimuta in 14:12 via Pinfall. Shibisawa makes his 2nd Defense of the All-Asia Junior Heavyweight Title.

Match Rating: D

After the match Tobei Sugimura rushes to the ring and begins beating down Shibisawa who doesn't have the energy to fight back after his match. Kijimuta joins his partner in a 2-on-1 beatdown, but eventually Hyotaru, Kaii Hanari, Kokei Shoda and X-Caliber run down to make the save and chase off the Legion.

Post-Match Comments:

Tobei Sugimura:
You got lucky tonight kid, but when I get my title match at War there won't be any biased referee or group of misfits to run down and save you. That title belongs to me!

Kaoru Shibisawa:
You can try all the tricks you want, but the outcome will be the same. I'll kick through you and anyone else you bring to help you! Yeah!

Naizen's Notes:
This match was a bit of a disappointment as the crowd just didn't seem to really care about the story being told, even though the in ring action was solid enough. Shibisawa has a fun act with his enthusiasm and karate background, but Kijimuta really struggles without his partner and it was apparent tonight as he failed to really do his part in getting the crowd invested in the match.

http://i.imgur.com/wyvlL0X.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/LJIVgnQ.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/37LyBfj.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kEu54ah.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/fRSmV9p.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/LJIVgnQ.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/NIaGIw8.png

Having been lukewarm for most of the night, the crowd suddenly woke up as they finally got to see the stars of Exodus in action in the main event. The veterans in particular got the biggest reaction of the night as they came down to the ring for the main event. The fans patience was rewarded, as the six men delivered action on a level far greated then any of the prior matches on the show; even if Super Joshuya and Silver Shark seemed to be moving at half-speed compared to their far younger opponents.

For his part Burning Exile seemed intent on evening the sides's workload single-handedly as he was on point all night with some brilliant exchanges with Yanagimoto in particular. As the match went on tensions between champion and challenger were exascerbated, with Shimpei Hirose being forced to play peacemaker as Yanagimoto and Kawagishi seemed more intent on one upping each other then winning the match; with Yanagimoto at one point "tagging" Kawagishi into match with a condescending pat on the cheek.

The finishing stretch of the match saw Sliver Shark and Super Joshuya working over Commander Kawagishi in their corner before he was eventually able to counter a whip into the corner by leaping onto the top rope and hitting Silver Shark with Diamond Dust (Corner Front Flip Face Crusher) but was too exhausted to make a cover. With both men down they began crawling to their corners, but rather then tag the outstretched hand of Yanagimoto, Kawagishi tagged in his partner Hirose who was still recovering from a DDT on the floor a few minutes prior. Hirose managed to avoid a flying forearm from Burning EXILE and grabbed the Mountain Sleeper, but was unable to get it locked in fully as Burning EXILE escaped and nailed him in the head with a enzuigiri. With Hirose out on his feet EXILE hoisted him up and hit a Exile Driver (Death Valley Driver) which was enough to get the three count.

Burning EXILE {W}, Silver Shark and Super Joshuya defeat Commander Kawagishi, Shimpei Hirose {L} and Tsuneyo Yanagimoto via Pinfall in 23:02

Match Rating: B-

Post-Match Comments:

Burning EXILE:
Tonight I proved without a doubt I am still the face of EXODUS, Yanagimoto or Kawagishi, it doesn't matter to me which of you is champion after War. I'm coming for the title and I will show you that the master still reigns supreme.

Tsunyeo Yanagimoto:
I put aside my differences tonight by teaming with you Kawagishi, but you proved once again why you don't have the mental edge needed to be champion. If you had tagged me in we would have the match won, but instead you put your vanity first and we lost as a result of your weakness.

Commander Kawagishi:
We lost tonight, but that doesn't mean I need any of your self-righteous crap. You have no idea what teamwork is, and have never cared about anyone but yourself. At War you'll see exactly why I am the Leader of the new generation in Exodus when I beat you for the Championship!

Naizen's Notes:
When putting the match together I had initially had it in my mind to put the champion and challenger over the veterans. Burning EXILE asked me to reconsider this plan and made a good point that despite being champion, the fans still consider the veteran trio to be the stars of the company and a 3 vs 3 on a secondary show isn't exactly the ideal platform for a passing of the torch. I think the match finish shouldn't hurt the Yanagimoto-Kawagishi title match, and adds some potential future title matches; though I'm not sure I'd want to put Silver Shark or Super Joshuya in that position as age has definitely caught up to them.

Predictions:

Midnightnick: 3/4

BHK1978: 2/4

Jaded: 2/4

KnowYourEnemy: 0/4 (+1 Bonus) - I suspect your blank selections for the predictions was an oversight, but you did correctly guess Motoyuki as one of the mystery partners. Edo is on excursion to Mexico, so don't expect to see him anytime soon.

Asaemon: 2/4

smwilliams: 3/4

Unscrewed: 4/4

thecoolestjedi12: 4/4 - You're mystery partner predictions weren't correct, but both Beetle and Stealth Z are on my shortlist.

petecrimson00: 2/4 I like both guys you suggested, though I'm not sure if I'd want to bring in Suzuki when I have Hotta as my designated Big Lad.

Thanks for all the predictions. The winner(s) at the end of the month (3 Shows) will get T-Shirts of the Cornellverse worker of their choice courtesy of the Hangzhou Shirt Company.

EXODUS Road to War

Saturday, Week 3, January 2016

http://i.imgur.com/37LyBfj.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kEu54ah.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/kfBFnef.png

The main event of Road to War will see one of EXODUS's icons, Burning EXILE, in one on one action against a home grown star in Hyotaru. A match between the two would have been considered a write-off just a few years ago, but virtue of hard work and dedication Hyotaru has become one of the most improved wrestler in the company.

Burning EXILE has issued a challenge to the world champion coming out of War, but he cannot afford to look past his young foe. For Hyotaru this could be the biggest night of his career, and be the final proof to the world that he has indeed made it to the top. With both men's futures at stake, their is far more then just pride on the line for these two at Road to War.

The Co-Main event of Road to War is a six man tag team match featuring the reigning tag team champions, The Revengers, teaming up with Orange Tsuchie to take on former World Champion Masao Tsubouchi and Hustle-X. With six of EXODUS's brightest young talents competing this is sure to be an exciting match, but only one side can prevail.

At Path to War Tobei Sugimura wasn't booked in a match, but made his presence felt as he assaulted All Asia Junior Heavyweight Champion Kaoru Shibisawa after his match before being chased off by Hyotaru, X-Caliber, and the Disco Boys. Angry at the "interference" Sugimura has issued a challenged to X-Caliber, going so far as to put his championship rematch on the line against the Australian.

X-Caliber may be a newcomer to the EXODUS roster, but he is no stranger to championship gold as he was one of the biggest stars of Australia's ZEN promotion and has begun to make a name for himself in Japan as well for his high flying expertise. Needing only two wins to add more gold to his waist, X-Caliber has a golden opportunity and will no doubt be willing to put it all on the line to beat Sugimura and take his spot in the championship match.

Road to War will be kicking off with a bang with two of the companies most accomplished tandems facing off as the Disco Boys go head to head with Massive Thunder. Commander Kawagishi and Shimpei Hirose are the most dominant team in Exodus history, but have spent the past few months focusing on singles careers and could be in for a rude awakening when facing off against such well polished foes.

A win here would be huge for the Disco Boys; propelling them to the top of the tag team ranks and perhaps kick-starting singles careers of their own. For Massive Thunder this is also a match of great importance as they seek to put their loss at Path to war behind them, and build momentum leading to Commander Kawagishi's World Title Match against Tsunyeo Yanagimoto at the end of the month.
