An alternate history using real world workers

The mid to late 90s saw the bar for censorship increasingly drop, naughtier television, and a shift in culture. A "degeneration", if you will. As the new millennium began, all of that started to recede. But what if it never did? What if that counter-culture, rebellious, sexy, vulgar era plateaued and continued into the present day?

Timeline

October 2003

Grade A Girls founded. R Rated

http://i64.tinypic.com/2ms3v4p.jpg

As the WWE continued to use diva's in bra and panty matches and other assorted eye candy matches, an Ohio strip club owner had an idea. He founded Grade A Girls. Although it was the first of many eye candy promotions, GAG is far from the most prestigious company in the industry. The company was founded with a roster of mostly local strippers, few wrestlers, and has been an overall profitable success. This business model has not changed much since it's opening and is why it's probably still a regional promotion.

April 2005

Ladies of Las Vegas founded. X Rated

http://i65.tinypic.com/15fiovt.jpg

Nevada brothel tycoon, Dennis Hof, opens Ladies of Las Vegas and quickly becomes the first major player due to his large financial backing. Currently the most prestigious company without a cloud in sight.

February 2007

Women's Wrestling Network founded. PG Rated

http://i67.tinypic.com/2epr7rd.jpg

Fresh off retirement, Trish Stratus, with the help of Shawn Michaels, opens the Women's Wrestling Network. The WWN set out to combine beautiful women with good wrestling. Currently the only PG company in the eye candy industry. While as of 2016, it is the most popular company, momentum has fallen drastically as fans have grown bored and are trending more towards X and R rated products.

July 2007

Sweethearts of Seattle founded. R Rated

http://i66.tinypic.com/20uahqd.jpg

The signature oiled t-shit matches are the staple of this regional promotion. Founded by a Seattle local female strip club owner. Don't let the fact she is a woman fool you, she is more cut-throat and shrewd than most men in her position.

September 2007

Women of Cheetah founded. R Rated

http://i67.tinypic.com/9h2s9e.jpg

Georgia strip club entrepreneur founded WOC, set to have the most beautiful women in the eye candy industry. The most common match type being bikini+oil wrestling.

January 2008

Triple X Wrestling founded. X Rated

http://i63.tinypic.com/67sg83.jpg

Wall Street scumbag turned eye candy wrestling promoter scumbag. The owner is as selfish and ruthless as they get. However, his all-nude, borderline pornographic product has a healthy following.

April 2009

Texas Mud Wrestling founded. PG-13 Rated

http://i65.tinypic.com/2n9zwh2.jpg

Relations between Trish Stratus and Shawn Michaels began to sour due to disagreement with the direction of WWN. In February of 2009, Shawn Michaels sold his half of the company to Trish. Two months later, Michaels partnered with former co-worker, Steve Austin, and opened Texas Mud Wrestling.

November 2014

Brawling Bikini Babes founded. PG-13 Rated

http://i67.tinypic.com/5xq04h.jpg

The newest company in the game, BBB was founded by a retired business tycoon living in Hawai'i. A small promotion, but lots of potential.

July 2016

This is the planned release date and when the game will "start". This game will be using real world workers imported from Fleisch's and Mildly_Amusing's mods. The wrestling industry and the "eye candy" industry will be completely exclusive from each other. Any workers that are in the game that are in the wrestling industry and not available to be hire will be considered "out of the business", and no I won't keep the 2,500 workers who are not in the eye candy business, only some. More details about each company will be added between now and then. I am more than happy to receive constructive criticism and suggestions :D

It's like a "naughty" version of the old Bob Inc mod, which I LOVED BTW.

I do have a suggestion/idea though.

I would love to see a lot of the non "eye Candy" female wrestlers kept in the game, even if alot are on Hiatus. Define an Era or starting settings of Cult and Risque being very popular, while Mainstream, modern and traditional are not popular.

This would afford the player the challenge of starting a "real" wrestling company and trying to succeed in a game world that isn't set up for them to succeed easily.

You have the Naked Women's Wrestling League type feds that rule the game world, and this would allow someone to take a SHIMMER like fed and try to bring wrestling back! To make it more fun and challanging, you could even lower the popularity of all of the none "eye candy" workers so you would have to start small, with a roster of some real talented, but not at all over workers.

Just a thought, mainly because I would likely download your mod and just import workers and try this same scenario for my game.

Good luck, I'll be looking forward to it. NEVER enough Women's focused mods. :)

I finished nine match types and 57-ish original gimmicks today. I'm also going to start doing weekly development diaries on this thread every Sunday. I REALLY appreciate the suggestions. I think I'm going to continue with this mod the way it is for right now, as it is my first mod and this will be a smaller game universe. But stealing from the suggestion by PhenominalPat, I'm thinking my next mod will feature a complete universe with companies still struggling to promote family-friendly, mainstream wrestling.

PS - Feel free to leave suggestions for team names, tv show names and event names.

PPS - TracyBrooksFan, I definitely plan on adding the pornstars and models, I already had thought of that but great thinking man! Thanks!

Good thing I did a playthrough of an eye candy company. In TEW 16 two eye candy matches back to back gets penalized. This comes as a blow but not a game-ender. As discussed in my last update, my next venture was to create an alternate history, a never-ending Attitude Era, of sorts. I am going to do some brain-storming and likely more play-thoughs this weekend and should have an update/announcement either this weekend or Monday about what direction the ship is headed. The direction of the mod may have changed, but it certainly is not turning back! :D

Update: I have submitted a "suggestion" on the suggestions forum to have an option to toggle the back to back eye candy match penalty. If this wish is granted by Adam the Great, the mod will be back in full production. I still have all the work that I had made up until the point where I cancelled development and I am still very motivated to make this happen.

Just a quick thought if the penalty cannot be removed: is there a way to instead change the "point of reference"? In this alternate universe, "eye candy" might mean wayyy more than in our reality, thus would still be "too much" when chained multiple times. Similarly, "Risque" and "Subtlety" may have to be on very different scales than the regular game.

In other words, no change of mechanics, but rather a change of what the numbers represent. As a newbie player, I can tell you I'm having to *learn* what "Risk 70" or "Subtlety 30" means. I look at the existing Gimmicks to get a sense of it, often being surprised "wow, that's meant to be Subtlety 80?! I thought 40". This, to me, proves the numbers only mean what the designer wants them to mean.

The only solution to make an Eye Candy fed work is to put the Match/Angle ratio to 50-60%. If you put a major angle between them, you don't get that note (I run few if any minor angles so I don't know for sure they will stop the note). You're going to have to do a lot of angles anyway since the eye candy matches cap at 10 minutes long. Honestly, that's a way, way, way bigger issue than the back-to-back penalty imho.

Hope you keep working on it. I'm all for more quality mods.

At least one mod like this always seems to pop up with each new TEW. Makes me recall the days of BobInc. Often times they don't get seen through. I hope you see this one through, there seems to be alot of creativity behind it and not just "lets delete all the male workers"

If you want to get a good grasp of booking a Sex Appeal fed, download the WTF mod as that's all it is (well, technically it isn't as it is just an all women's universe but you can run it that way really easily as the sex appeal of everyone is really high; they're models and actresses after all).

Running it is quite relaxing as you know pretty much exactly what you're going to get. You're going to get 60-70's for your shows no matter what, and you get the fun of building people up from nothing to the point where you can switch to a much more pop fed to avoid the SA caps.

There's also a number of currently-existing women's wrestling (and grappling)-themed actual porn companies, notable among them being Ultimate Surrender and the BATTLE series collections from Akiba in Japan.
