Canadian Golden Combat are the DeColt family's company and one of the traditional 'big two' in Canada. From day one the promotion has been built around the heroic babyfaces of the DeColt family and their struggles with various heel factions who come to fight against them. It is a simple formula but one that works.

 

CGC founder and mastermind George DeColt finally retired from the business in 2009, allowing his son Alex to take control. Unfortunately the pressures of being in charge seem to have brought out the worst in him, and fans have noticed a drop-off in quality especially since Alex decided to take over the booking too. With only two DeColts still actively wrestling for CGC, many feel the future looks bleak for the company.

 

December 2015 and Alex DeColt finally listens to advice from his brothers and father, he brings in former CGC Legends Ed Monton and Jon Jetson to help him with the booking while he focus' more on the finances and admin side of running the company. Jon Jetson will be Head Booker starting January 2016.

2016 in Canadian Golden Combat kicks off with a bang when in the nights main event the DeColts (Ricky and Jack) step into the ring in an handicap match against 3 men who have been thorns in their sides in recent months in Dan Dalay, Gargantuan and Thrill Seeker, Thrill Seeker is a couple of months into his best of 7 series (tied 1 a piece) with Christian Price. Price himself will also be in action when he takes on the always arrogant Ryan Powell.

 

In a match for a chance to Captain the winners very own team at CGC Elimination Joey Poison will face Antonio Del Veccio, Skip Beau and Shane Nelson. In tag team action the ever popular team of Zeus Maxmillion and Stevie Grayson will take on Dermott Ayres and Marc Raisin, the Montreal Mafia.

 

Plus the night will kick off with the match we have been waiting for almost a month, when Intrepid Ian Identity won the number one contenders battle royal for a shot at Blockbusters Canadian Title we didn't think it would take this long for him to recieve his match, but with Blockbuster twice sending Triple I to hospital and once kidnapping Jenny Playmate the weeks have been eventful in the build to this match.

The first Canadian Golden Combat show of the New Year opened up with a scene in a bar (right after the opening video that is). The Dirty White Boys (Lead Belly and Grease Hogg) are drinking and having a good time when into the bar bursts two huge mountain men, the bar goes silent (some of you older wrestling fans may recognize the two men as Larry Wood and Mammoth) and the two massive men bump right into the Dirty White boys clearly on purpose... And they get the reaction they were obviously hoping for and the four huge me begin a fight that spreads throughout the bar, a full on barroom brawl ensues and we go back to Title Bout Wrestling and Davis Ditterich and Adrian Garcia at the Announce desk.

Blockbuster cannot believe it, the fans cannot believe it, the Commentators Adrian Garcia and Davis Ditterich cannot believe it and Jenny Playmate and Intrepid Ian Identity certainly cannot believe it as they stare shocked at the Title belt as it is handed to them before finally coming to their senses a little and they celebrate while the former Champion Blockbuster can do little more than stare at them...

Backstage in Alex DeColts office he discusses with his brothers Ricky and Jack what will be happening at CGC Elimination in 3 weeks, he tells them each of them will be Captaining a traditional Elimination team at the event and as usual the survivors of the nights Elimination matches will be handed contracts for any match they want ... When they want them over the next 28 days... He also informs his brothers that they will be teaming up in tonights main event... He just needs to discuss with Garcia their opponants... Leaving Ricky and Jack to wonder who they will face.

* But Stevie is no slouch and he gets his second wind and fights back. He manages to hit enziguris on both opponants before reaching the friendly corner.

 

* Zeus is on fire and floors both Ayres and Raisin with big clotheslines, slams and suplexes before Stevie is back in and he hits the Shades of Grayson.

Ryan Powell makes his way out to the ring and he has a microphone which is enough to kick start the booing and the "Shooting Flop" chants. He tells us that at CGC Elimination he will be available and ready to team with whoever offers him the best deal... But tonight he will take his stardom into his own hands as always, he will not be told what to do by a DeColt, he is issuing and open challenge to anyone in the back who wants to face a real "Canadian Star!"

 

Out comes Christian Price and he says "The Stud is here" and for Powell "the Price will not be right"

* Price has had problems with veteran Dan DaLay in recent months but seems to be keeping his focus on todays opponant for the most part.

 

* Powell seems a little slow in going for the Star Treatment and gives Price chance to set up for the Stud Stopper, but Powell manages to block it...

 

* But he does not see the Price Check coming and the referee counts 1.. 2.. 3.

After the match Christian Price barely gets time to celebrate before getting blindsided by Dan DaLay. The massive Heavyweight veteran takes apart the young Stud and leaves him broken in the middle of the ring while he stands tall as the boos ring around the arena.

Alex DeColt had come to ringside in amoungst all the choas of medics taking Price away. The boss DeColt was discusing the agreement he had with Adrian Garcia over tonights main event, he said he did not trust Garcia and if he pulls anything he will really have to refrain from outright punching him... Well he will do his best to restrain himself, but he will have him removed from his position at the announce booth... Garcia tells him to calm down and that he already told him everything was set for tonight... He has signed someone for each DeColt and they will not only be fighting in tonights main event, but they will be each captaining a team at CGC Elimination! Alex DeColt one last time says Garcia better not be up to anything ... He then heads towards the back...

But doesn't get very far up the aisle when the DeColt-Tron comes on and we see a video from earlier tonight, Adrian Garcia, Thrill Seeker, Dan DaLay and Gargantuan or striking a deal and when Thrill Seeker asks how Garcia has fooled Alex DeColt, Garcia answers that all he had to do was promise to hand up a main event for his brothers... In which they will face an opponant for each DeColt, Gargantuan for Jack, Thrill Seeker for Ricky and Dan DeLay for ... Alex "Its as simple as counting and apparently Papa George never taught Alex how to count past 2..."

Already Adrian Garcia is trying to keep the announce desk between himself and the returning to the ring area Alex DeColt, but Alex seems to calm himself down and instead of getting physical with Adrian Garcia he signals for security and out comes Brett Fraser, Ed Monton, Jon Jetson and a few others and they remove Adrian Garcia from his position just like Alex promised. Out comes Ted Ross who 10 years ago was a regular at the CGC announce booth, it looks like he has gotten his old job back.

* Antonio Del Veccio hit Shane Nelson with the Italian DDT immediately after lifting him back to his feet, he then went for the pin but only managed 2.

 

* An Antidote Web from Joey Poison on Skip Beau and he himself got a 2 count after Shane Nelson broke the pin attempt...

 

* But Shane couldn't quite turn his advantage into hitting a second Clash of Styles on Poison and Joey himself hit a second Antidote Web...

 

* This time the modified Stunner was on Shane Nelson and Joey Poison scored the 3 count.

Backstage we see Whippy the Clown peddling around Donte Dunn and Hailey Hunter on his undersized tricycle, Hailey is laughing at the twisted clown but Donte knows better and tells Whippy to "shove off out their way" ... Whippy gets off his bike but points to two buckets covering his mouth in a pretend shocked silly way... He lifts the first bucket and first with a couple of false swings threatens to throw the contents over Donte who thretens to punch the clown, finally Whippy chucks the contents over Donte and he is covered with coloured paper... Hailey is laughing hysterically causing Donte to even smile a little... Whippy picks up the second bucket and Donte waves for his to throw it at him... But at the last second Whippy turns and throws it over Hailey, it is ice water and Hailey is soaked to the skin, freezing, her makeup is running down her face and her white top and pants are now see through... Whippy runs away laughing as Donte Dunn gives chase....

* Ricky manages to hang in and soon gets an hot tag and Jack clears house, he floors Thrill Seeker, sends Dan DaLay reeling and is lacing strikes on Gargantuan.

 

* The massive 7' tall super ripped, super heavyweight Gargantuan is being hit from both sides by two DeColts and he is still somehow standing...

 

* Gargantuan stays on his feet long enough for Thrill Seeker to get back in the ring and with a flying crossbody he takes care of Ricky...

 

* Dan DaLay is back in the ring and he hits Jack from behind and Gargantuan has him now, he hits the Ultimate Backbreaker and Jack is out.
