In the years which followed the revival of World Wrestling Entertainment many would argue what its exact origin point was. Some said the return of Shane McMahon, some said it was NXT and the new talents, while others felt it was the culmination of the Authority storyline.

In truth it was all of the above but how it came to be and how it shaped a new golden age is a story for the ages. No matter what you think or what you’ve seen, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Because everything you think you know is about to change.

Mr. McMahon had a choice to make. Who would run Monday Night Raw? His son Shane, the prodigal son, had returned and challenged the Deadman at WrestleMania XXXII for control of the company. But Shane had failed. In the meanwhile he’d been given the chance to run the flagship program and done well even over the objections of his sister Stephanie.

He thought long and hard and then before a worldwide audience he made his decision. He told his children he wanted to see blood, he wanted to see them slice each other’s throats to see who would be his heir. Shane had failed and thus Stephanie would control Monday Night RAW. However, Shane had proven he had a vision and so he would run Smackdown. Shane demanded he be independent of the Authority and again over Stephanie’s objections it was agreed to.

Mr. McMahon then declared that he would be in charge the next night on RAW as his children commenced the first WWE Brand Split in years. Two brands, two McMahons, one heir. Only the strongest would survive a new war fueled by Sibling Rivalry.

Raw 5 Point Preview - Monday Week 1 May 2016 - Welcome to Draft Week

Last night at WWE Payback, Mr. McMahon, announced that Raw and Smackdown will split once more with Stephanie McMahon running Raw and Shane McMahon running Smackdown. Tonight on Raw, the WWE Draft returns. Who will be each brand's #1 overall draft pick?
Mr. McMahon will announce details about Extreme Rules tonight.

Mr. McMahon welcomes the audience to Monday Night RAW and more importantly to a new era in WWE history. He says the time has come for a true heir to step forward and there is no better way to judge the worthiness of that person than pitting them in battle against their flesh and blood. Who wants it more? Who’s willing to do terrible things to succeed? That’s what he’s done. He’s done a lot of terrible things and that is why he is standing atop the mountain of sports entertainment today. He goes on to say that because we’re at RAW it is the brand which will have the first pick tonight. With that he introduces the person who will be running RAW in this new era, Stephanie McMahon!

Stephanie comes out and hugs her dad. She says as the person in charge of the preeminent brand in sports entertainment today it is her job to find the one person who stands above all others and the choice is clear. For her first selection she chooses the WWE Champion, Roman Reigns!

Sheamus doesn’t seem to take Zayn very seriously in the beginning but when he’s tagged by a series of lightning fast forearms it wakes the Irishman up. He goes on to use his strength advantage to bully Zayn around the ring but makes a crucial error when he goes for a Brogue Kick in the corner and Zayn moves. Tied up with his foot over the ropes for just a minute is all Zayn needs to charge in with the Helluva Kick, smacking Sheamus directly in the left temple. Zayn makes a quick cover for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Grade: 81

Shane says that he had expected his sister to select Reigns and it makes perfect sense but just as he tried to revamp RAW the past few weeks he will do the same on Smackdown. He says Smackdown is about the future and so with his first pick he’s taking the future of the WWE….Kevin Owens!

We go to the break as the announcers squabble about who got the better of the two picks thus far.

When we return from break we’re taken to a video. Several mannequin heads are lined up on a table, each of them wearing a variation of Kane’s mask, beginning with the newest one. A hulking figure walks past them, stopping occasionally, until he reaches the end. Then a gloved hand removes the original mask, holding it in a manner suggesting the figure is looking down on it. In the background, one by one, the other mannequin heads begin to catch fire and finally the figure walks away giving us a clear view of the burning masks.

Stephanie McMahon comes back to the stage. She says that everyone present should be smiling because this brand split means the return of the Authority to RAW and it makes a fresh start. No, in fact it marks…a new day. And that is why with her second pick she takes the [b[New Day[/b] along with their WWE Tag Team championship.

Charlotte and Emma take control over Becky early utilizing old school tag team wrestling and cutting her off from Natayla. Each and every time Becky is about to make a tag, Charlotte or Emma cut her off. Finally when Emma goes for a suplex, Becky is able to slide out and make the hot tag to Natayla. Nattie begins to clear house and when she locks Emma in the Sharpshooter, Charlotte bails to the floor and grabs the Women's Championship, slides into the ring and blasts Natayla in the back of the head with it causing the intentional DQ.

Following the match Nattie and Charlotte brawl while Emma and Becky go at it. Hordes of officials flood the ring and break the four women up.

Winners: Natalya and Becky Lynch

It’s brilliant! Vince exclaims. It shows that old…ruthless aggression one needs to succeed. He walks away leaving his daughter scowling.

He says Enzo suffered a concussion the night before at Payback and is out of action indefinitely until such time as he passes the WWE concussion protocols to get back in the ring.

Dallas and the Social Outcasts are mocking Crews and Dallas shoves him. Crews just laughs until Dallas slaps him in the face. Bo dives to the floor and Crews gives chase taking out each Social Outcast along the way. Bo gets back inside and Crews comes in and Bo drops a leg drop onto the back of Crews' neck. Bo drops a knee to the back of Crews' head and goes for a cover. Crews kicks out with power after just a 1 count. Bo charges Crews who picks Bo up and slams him into a Samoan Drop. After two German Suplexes, Crews hits a standing moonsault for the 3 count.

Winner: Apollo Crews

MizTV airs and Miz is bragging about his victory over Cesaro last night at Payback. He opens up a dictionary and reads from the definition of loser. He reads "a person or thing that loses or has lost something" like Cesaro losing his shot at the Intercontinental Championship. He reads, "a person who accepts defeat" like Cesaro should accept that The Miz beat him one on one 24 hours ago. The Miz switches to the definition of winner but before he can read it Cesaro comes out.

Cesaro points out that the result last night was a fluke and that The Miz took advantage of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn's distraction. He says that the word Miz is looking for is lucky. The Miz gloats and tells Cesaro that the word Miz should really look for is champion because that is what this belt means. He shoves it in Cesaro's face and Cesaro responds by decking The Miz. He grabs Miz by the legs and prepares to deliver the Big Swing but Maryse, again, lays down over her husband. Cesaro is too much of a gentleman so he lets go and Maryse and Miz slip out of the ring. Cesaro points at the IC belt and says he wants it back while The Miz and Maryse are in retreat with Miz holding his jaw.

The Dudley’s experience and underhanded means keep control of the match but when Kalisto gets the hot tag, he keeps both Dudleys on their heels. Soon Sin Cara recovers and the two of them deliver double drop kicks, sending Bubba to the outside and flooring D-Von. Kalisto leaps off the ropes, but D-Von catches him. The United States Champion however squirms out of his grasp and hits the Salida del Sol for the win.

Winners: The Lucha Dragons

The Lucha Dragons smartly get out of the ring before an irate Bubba can attack after the bell.

More of a squash than anything, Ryback attacks before the bell and pummels Truth, often taunting him as he does it. Truth’s one piece of offense, a cross body block off the second rope ends when Ryback catches him and then transitions it into a Shellshock for the victory.

The match is a war right from the start. After about 5 minutes of brawling, officials rush to the ring and Raw goes to a commercial break. When it returns Anderson, Gallows and Styles have taken control over Jey Uso. Soon, a hot tag is made and Roman clears house. AJ and Roman end up alone in the ring and they go to war but soon Anderson and Gallows are in as well and they are double teaming Roman. The Uso's come in and everyone ends up on the floor. Eventually Roman spears Anderson on the floor and slides in the ring, turns around and is hit by the Phenomenal Forearm. AJ covers as Gallows and Anderson keep the USO's from entering the ring and gets the 1..2...3.

Winners: AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, and Karl Anderson

Mr. McMahon’s music hits again and he comes out to the top of the stage.

He says that kind of match is what he loves to see and he wants to see more. So at Extreme Rules it’ll be Roman Reigns against AJ Styles. And since they’ve both been drafted to different shows the winner will take that championship with them leaving the other without the belt.

Styles and Reigns watch each other as the announcers hype up how big of an announcement that Is for the future of both brands. Cole then reminds us to tune in next week for the beginning of the new Authority era on RAW.

[NXT opens to the usual WWE Then, Now, Forever ID and the NXT opening. When the video ends, the camera's cut to a darkened arena. The crowd seems confused as all lights are out. The camera pans around the arena as a series of opera style violins are heard. Suddenly spotlights all shine to the ring and Bobby Roode is standing in it. The crowd is shocked as the lights come on and Booby Roode's new theme song can be heard (a version of something similar to Off the Chain from TNA) and he has a microphone in hand.

Roode welcomes us to NXT but more importantly he wants to welcome us to a new era in professional wrestling. For the past two years the biggest names in professional wrestling have found themselves making their way to this arena and to compete in this ring and the It Factor of professional wrestling is no different. But what sets apart Bobby Roode from Samoa Joe, or Rhyno or Brian Kendrick or Finn Balor or Hideo Itami or even my former tag team partner, Austin Aries, is that no one is as tenacious, no one is as vicious, no one is as determined to change the face of this business more than me.

NXT you may think you know me. You may think you know what I am capable of. You don't, but you soon will. Welcome to the era of Roode.

[NXT returns with Tom Phillips and Corey Graves stationed at the ramp with the ring in the background as Johnny Gargano has entered the ring. Elias Samson's music hits as the Drifter comes down the ring with his guitar in tow. He jumps over the ropes and immediately attacks Gargano.

Johnny Gargano vs Elias Samson

Gargano is on the defensive from the beginning. Being punched left and right and sent to the floor. Gargano is thrown into the ring steps and a snap suplex is given to him on the floor. Samson rolls Gargano in the ring and as he goes back in Samson is able to knee Samson in the face. He charges Samson but Elias catches him in a t-bone suplex. Samson tells shushes the crowd and pulls Gargano in and nails the swinging snap neck breaker for the 1...2...3.

Winner: Elias Samson

Grade: 48

Following the match, Samson screamed at Gargano "retribution" seemingly for his loss to Gargano in March before getting a calm look, picking up his guitar and walking away looking peaceful.

[William Regal is in his office when new NXT Champion Samoa Joe barges in. Joe says he heard Regal was looking for him. Regal says he was and he needed to talk to him about his next title defense. In June NXT will be holding the next Takeover event titled Revenge and it’s fitting because it will be Finn Balor’s chance for revenge when he gets his rematch for that title. Joe looks heavily annoyed saying that Balor doesn’t deserve it and Regal, standing and putting his hands on his desk looks at Joe intently and tells him he decides who deserves what. Just like Joe deserves the night off. Joe is seething as he turns and leaves, slamming the door behind him.]

This is a very combative back and forth match. Bliss controls early but messes up when she goes for a superplex and Blanchard holds onto the ropes and Bliss falls backward hitting the mat hard. Blanchard starts to work on Bliss' neck in a throwback to her father's philosophy of targeting one area of the body and attack it. Blanchard hits a ddt and hits a snap suplex off the ropes, her father's old finisher, but Bliss kicks out at two. Blanchard sends Bliss into the turnbuckle and charges but Bliss slides through the ropes and Blanchard hits the turnbuckle hard. Bliss grabs Blanchard and pulls

Blanchard's throat down onto the top rope. Blanchard hits the mat and Bliss climb's the turnbuckle and hits the Sparkle Splash but Blanchard kicks out at 2 stunning Bliss. Bliss grabs Blanchard and tries to hit a brainbuster but Blanchard reverses it into a small package and scoring the shocking upset victory.

Winner: Tessa Blanchard

Grade: 41

Bliss can't believe it and Blanchard is out of the ring celebrating.

[in the back we see the Hype Bros come into American Alpha's locker room. Ryder and Rawley shake the hands of the tag team champs and they all laugh about the crazy night they had this past weekend in Orlando. The Tag Champs sure showed the Hype Bros a different side of them with Ryder pointing out that Gable has some sick moves on the dance floor. The guys laugh but then Rawley gets serious saying at some point the Hype Bros want a shot at the tag team championship. American Alpha says it would be their honor and to just name the time and place. The guys hug it out and the Hype Bros leave happy.]

[NXT returns and Tye Dillinger is just entering the ring. It is main event time and his opponent is next.]

Tye Dillinger vs Shinsuke Nakamura

In a rematch from Nakamura's first NXT television match, Dillinger looks to avenge his loss to the King of Strong Style. Dillinger actually fares pretty well in this match taking Nakamura's strongest hits and coming back for more. Nakamura goes for the Kinshasa but Dillinger ducks and super kick's Shinsuke for a 2 count. Dillinger starts hitting Nakamura with some stiff fists and forearms of his own and drags Nakamura into the turnbuckle area. He kicks Shinsuke in the head and Nakamura is sitting against the turnbuckles. Dillinger charges and delivers a boot to Nakamura's abdomen for a 2 count. Dillinger hits the perfect ten single knee facecrusher for a two count.

Nakamura gets back up and Dillinger and him start giving each other brutal shots to the face and chest and when Dillinger goes for another super kick, Shinsuke ducks and drops Tye with a savate kick of his own. With Dillinger getting back, Nakamura charges and hits KINSHASA for the 1..2...3.[/color]

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

[Following the match, Nakamura bows to Dillinger with the look on his face of someone who knows he was in a battle. Suddenly the lights go out, a series of opera style violin's are heard. Suddenly spotlights all shine to the ring and Bobby Roode is once again standing in it staring face to face at Nakamura. Roode has a microphone and says simply,

"The Era of Roode begins..at Take Over....against you."

The crowd is chanting "say yes" to Nakamura who considers it for a moment, backs away before coming face to face with Roode and doing some head banging to symbolize he does accept. At NXT Take Over it will be Shinsuke Nakamura vs Bobby Roode. Roode leaves the ring satisfied, never taking his eyes off Shinsuke as NXT goes off the air.]

Styles can only watch as the brawl breaks out and officials run down to break it up. Styles stands in the ring with his back to the announcers when the crowd comes alive as Roman Reigns jumps the barrier by the time keeper and slips in the ring behind him. Finally Styles turns around and gets broken in half by a massive spear. Chaos surrounds the ring as the brawl continues amid officials trying to break it up, but in the ring, the Champion looks down on his soon to be opponent and the show goes off the air. A long list of well known names have announced their intended retirements this week including:

It is unknown who WWE will fill Slaughter's spot with behind the scenes.

Byron Saxton apparently was very late for the Smackdown tapings and when called into a meeting about it seemed unrepentant. Many backstage say he's becoming an attitude problem.

Also backstage Stephanie McMahon has been hard at work ending tensions between her husband and her brother. At last word they have rekindled their friendship and any hostility between them is now gone thanks to her.

Finally, in tragic news WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka announced his retirement this past Thursday and then sadly passed away on Friday. We at PWI offer our most solemn condolences to his family and friends.

These two teams show some mutual respect but the competition amongst them gives the crowd an entertaining first match filled with many quick tags and fast action. Just as it appears the Usos may have the advantage with Kofi down on the mat and Big E tangling with Jey on the outside the Dudleys rush down to the ring, each carrying a chair.

Bubba whacks Jey and Big E, while D-Von hits Jimmy, knocking him off the top rope to the floor below. He quickly slides in and nails Kofi. Xavier Woods fares no better versus Bubba. As the referee continuously calls for the bell, the Dudleys look very proud of themselves.

As the bell continues to ring, the Dudleys lay waste to everyone. Going from man to man they wallop them with the chairs leaving both the New Day and the Usos laid out.

Following the break the Dudleys enter Stephanie’s office. She says she was impressed with their initiative out there but she needs to see a little more of it. So tonight it’ll be them against Dean Ambrose. No disqualification and if they win, they’ll get a shot at the New Day at Extreme Rules. They tell her to sit back and enjoy their second act tonight.

Renee Young is backstage with Big Cass. She asks him first about Enzo and Cass says he’s doing better day by day and it won’t be long before he’s back. She then asks him about his match tonight and he says that Curtis Axel may be descended from perfection but he’s far from it. In fact there’s only one thing in particular that he is and tonight he’ll spell it out for him.

These two brawl around the ring for awhile, with Swagger actually getting the upper hand. He almost gets the Patriot Lock on Rusev but the Bulgarian Brute gets to the outside. When Swagger follows Rusev nearly decapitates him with a clothesline. Getting him back in the ring, Rusev begins to attack strategically and when Lana screams out for him to CRUSH! he puts Swagger in the Accolade which doesn’t end well for the former All-American.

Winner: Rusev

As Rusev boasts to the crowd about his victory Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and even King Barrett come down to the ring. All four men begin to argue again until Lana gets on the microphone. Rusev wants to know what’s going on and she says she invited them all because they wasted what they had. The League of Nations should have ruled WWE but they allowed their egos and ambitions to overshadow what they shared. Strength, experience, brutality. They failed before because the one thing they lacked was someone to focus their skills, and now they have it….in her. The four men look exchange looks but one by one nod and offer their hands to one another. With Lana smiling coldly they are reunited under her leadership.

As we return from break we see officials running frantically backstage, and one with a fire extinguisher enters a room in which we see there are flames and puts them out. When the camera finally enters the room we see Zeb Coulter on the ground laying on his stomach.

It appears the fire they put out was on his back. Officials make way for the medical teams as the announcers seem confused as to what happened.

Cesaro starts off hot and puts Stardust on the defense from the beginning of the match with his strength. He shows off for the crowd looking like he’s enjoying himself. Stardust attempts to take the match over but Cesaro doesn’t let him get much momentum and its put away after the Neutralizer drives him down into the mat.

Cesaro is celebrating his win when Maryse comes down to the ring and begins screaming at him in French. Cesaro seems a little amused by it until the Miz comes from behind and hits the Skull Criushing Finale. With Cesaro down and out, Maryse hands her husband a small box she’d brought with her and when he opens it its filled with makeup.

The Miz begins to sloppily apply the makeup screaming at Cesaro that if he wants to be a star he needs to be ready for his closeup. Cesaro looks like a clown by the time Miz is done, then gets stomped on the head for good measure. The Miz and Maryse leave, very proud of themselves.

As we return from the break, we’re treated to a black screen. Slowly it lightens until we see three figures, Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan and Bray Wyatt. Wyatt says that the day of reckoning is fast approaching. For the land which was fertile shall be made a desert. No one knows the day or hour except him and for now he won’t share but one thing he will do is give some advice. The screen flashes and suddenly Strowman is missing from the picture and Wyatt whispers his suggestion:

Run.

As the video ended the house lights came on and Strowman was standing in the ring. As the bell rings we find out that Strowman is the immovable object. Unfortunately for Titus he was not the unstoppable force. Strowman takes everything O’Neil can throw at him, then obliterates him with a clothesline. From there the baby monster of the Wyatt Family pounds O’Neil from corner to corner, finally putting him away with a standing side slam.

Stephanie nods quickly and tells him at Extreme Rules he’ll get his wish. Cesaro leaves in a huff and for a moment Stephanie doesn’t appear to know what to say.

Roman Reigns is headed into Dean Ambrose dressing room when Stephanie stops him. She asks him how he’s doing, acting very nice which he is suspicious of. She asks him what he’s doing and he says he’s gonna go get his brother ready for his match and then be at ringside. She says that is a bad idea. He has a huge match at Extreme Rules that he has to stay healthy for. As such she has to protect RAW’s brand against Smackdown so no, he can’t be at ringside at all, just as she’s banned the New Day and the Usos from ringside. But he can go wish Dean all the luck in the world. Because he’s gonna need it. When she walks off, he scowls before entering the room.

Ambrose knows his only chance to win is to take the war to the most decorated ta team in history and he does just that, attacking them both in his wild style before the bell rings. He keeps it going too for several minutes until Bubba stops him with a knee to the gut. From there the Dudleys control the pace working him over. Ambrose regains the momentum, sending both Dudleys over the top, before bringing a table into the ring and setting it up. D-Von is the first in and Ambrose has him laying on the table before climbing up to the top. He doesn’t see Bubba, who has picked up a chair and Ambrose is whacked across the back, crashing and burning to the ground. The Dudleys clear the cobwebs and when Ambrose pulls himself to his feet and turns around, D-Von launches him up into the 3D and through the table. Bubba and D-Von both make the cover for the win.

As Ambrose attempts to get up from the broken carcas of the table, Ryback attacks after hopping over the timekeeper’s barrier. Ambrose doesn’t stand a chance as Ryback rains downs right hands, before picking him up and launching him over the announcer’s table nearly flattening Michael Cole. Ryback continues, picking up Ambrose who’s loosely throwing punches without anything behind them. He walks him around and then rams him spine first into the ring post three times before dumping him in a heap. As medical personnel warily try to approach Ambrose, Ryback stands over him with his arms raised.

Yes, our setup is NXT as a third brand on main roster in the game that way we can book the show on WWE Network and keep control of the talent/stories. We then have a dev company called performance center where we keep the people not ready for NXT.

And to piggyback off of Consrvtve re: NXT and, really WWE Network...we will be (obviously) continuing the NXT Take Over specials but we will also be developing WWE Network specials like WWE does currently (for example: doing the Global Cruiserweight Series and other ideas that Consrvtve and I have already come up with). Some of the stuff we want to do is pretty ambitious and the brand split is a unique way to achieve long term goals that we have already defined between us with this diary. But, NXT will not be filler or just a development brand for us...we have big plans for it as a 3rd brand.

This match never even begins because when Sasha Banks is making her entrance, Emma and her partner in crime from NXT, jump Sasha from behind. They brutalize her by pummeling the Boss and throwing her into the ring steps. Initially, Alicia Fox does not get involved but when Becky Lynch comes out to help Banks, Alicia jumps her and holds her down forcing Lynch to watch as Brooke and Emma decimate her friend. Eventually referees flood the area and back the three women off of Lynch and Banks. The last image we have is of Becky Lynch crawling toward a very hurt Sasha Banks trying to help as officials crowd around the Boss.

And unlike Shane's sister on Raw, Shane believes that the best way to protect his main event at Extreme Rules is to give AJ Styles the best competition that he can possibly have. "So tonight, in that very ring, in our main event it will be you Kevin Owens...and a partner of your choice against AJ Styles...and a partner of his choice." Kevin looks pleased as he walks off.]

This is a fast paced match early on with Corbin trying desperately to slow things down. After escaping several near falls, Corbin drops Crews with a boot to the face. Corbin then takes over and starts systematically breaking down Crews with several almost falls of his own. Corbin goes for the End of Days but Crews drops to a knee and ends up backflipping Corbin who flies over the ropes and lands hard on the floor. On the floor Crews tries to take the advantage but Corbin throws him head first into the ring post. Dazed, Crews is dropped on the floor with the End of Days. Corbin rolls him in and covers…1….2….kick out by Crews at the last split second. Corbin is incensed but he composes himself and hits Crews yet again with the End of Days and that finally does the trick. 1..2..3.

Winner: Baron Corbin

[smackdown returns and we immediately go to a video retrospective of AJ Style’s career. It is set to images of Styles from New Japan and Ring of Honor and behind the scenes in WWE. In each image it shows a personal picture of AJ and the featured interviewees. Interviewees like Chris Sabin who speaks of how they set the bar in independents. It cuts to an interview with The Club and Gallows and Anderson talk about how much they respect and love AJ Styles and how he steals the show each and every week that he competes. It cuts to an interview with Christian who looks back fondly on when he and AJ Styles challenged each other to be better competitors and how it is a shame that their feud never happened in WWE. Austin Aries talks about how much he looks up to AJ and how the term “Phenomenal One” isn’t a clever marketing ploy, it is simply who he is. Each interviewee speaks of their confidence in AJ stealing the show and shocking the world by defeating Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules. Each interviewee speaks of how AJ pushed them to their limits and how the WWE Universe has not yet seen the true AJ Styles. The video ends with a clip package of AJ’s most impressive WWE moments set to his theme song, They Don’t Want None, and ends with a face to face shot of AJ and Roman Reigns.]

Before the match begins, Mauro Ranallo informs us that Ric Flair negotiated with Shane McMahon to make this match a Non Title match. Ranallo decries this as protecting his daughter yet again and Graves praises this move as brilliant.

This match is a highlight reel of women’s wrestling as WWE let both women really go in this match. At equal points, Paige is almost able to beat Charlotte and Charlotte is close to locking in the Figure Eight. Finally Paige gets control and starts beating down the champion. A series of two counts has Ric Flair nearly fainting on the floor but Charlotte wont stay down. Paige ducks a clothesline by Charlotte and hits the champion with the Paige Turner. She covers but Flair pulls Paige from the ring. Paige decks Flair and gets back inside the ring and ducks under a Charlotte charge and locks her into the Paige Lock. Charlotte is screaming and close to tapping but Ric Flair is on the apron distracting the referee just as Charlotte taps. Paige cant believe it and lets go and goes after the Nature Boy. The ref is sandwiched in between Ric and Paige and doesn’t see Charlotte reach into her bra and pull out a pair of brass knucks. Paige turns around and is leveled with them. Charlotte puts the knucks back in her bra and locks in the Figure Eight. Flair gets off the apron and the ref has no choice to declare that Paige is unconscious and thereby submits giving the Women’s Champion a victory.

Winner: Charlotte

Charlotte and Ric Flair hug and celebrate over an unconscious Paige when suddenly Natalya’s music hits. She comes out to the stage and has a microphone in hand. She congratulates Charlotte on her victory…tainted as it is because her daddy saved her…again.

Charlotte does a mocking bow but Natalya simply smiles and says that “unfortunately for you, champ, your daddy won’t be able to save you much longer. You see Charlotte, I just got done speaking to Shane McMahon. And he has granted me my rematch against you in ten days at Extreme Rules. And Naitch, you should listen to this part because it pertains to you, Charlotte you won’t be able to rely on your father to save your ass anymore…because this match will be contested inside a Steel Cage.”

Natalya does her own mocking bow as Ric Flair is irate and Charlotte just looks scared to death.

Kevin Owens comes out and takes the microphone and talks about how he is the franchise of Smackdown and will one day be WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He cannot believe that Shane McMahon would just give opportunities to AJ Styles but tonight he gets the chance to show Shane just how wrong he was. And his partner gets a shot at retribution because his partner is….Y2J Chris Jericho!

Jericho comes out and shakes Owen’s hand. AJ Styles comes to the ring but before he enters he simply points back to the entrance as his partner is…..SAMI ZAYN! Owens is irate as AJ and Sami high five and enter the ring and immediately clean house of Jericho and Owens.

The match is a brawl from the start and goes all over the ringside area with Owens trying desperately to keep himself away from Zayn and AJ pummeling Jericho. Referees flood the ringside area to try to get this match going, Shane McMahon also is down there and orders the show to go to a commercial break as chaos has erupted.

When the commercial break is over, the match has finally begun and Owens is kicking out of a two count by Sami Zayn. Owens hits an Enziguri and crawls to Jericho for a tag. Just as Zayn is about to tag in AJ, Jericho cuts him off and Owens and Jericho begin to systematically take apart Sami Zayn. We get old school frequent tags by Jericho and Owens and multiple kick outs by Sami Zayn while the heels taunt AJ who is increasingly desperate to get into the match. Finally Owens screams “this is over” and tries to hit the Pop Up Powerbomb onto Sami but he reverses it into a hurricanrana and that gives Sami the opportunity to finally tag in AJ Styles who cleans house. AJ goes for a Styles Clash onto Kevin but Jericho hits AJ from behind. This brings in Sami Zayn who clothesline’s Jericho to the floor. Owens drops AJ and charges the ropes toward Jericho and Sami and launches himself over it. AJ climbs up the ropes and hits the Phenominal Forearm onto Owens who crashes into Sami and Jericho as well. AJ rolls Owens back into the ring and goes for the Phenominal Forearm but Jericho trips AJ who crashes hard to the mat. Owens hits the Pop Up Powerbomb for the 1…2….AJ KICKS OUT. Jericho is in the ring ready to hit the Codebreaker on AJ but Sami is on the top rope and does a missile drop kick from behind sending Jericho flying. Owens hits Sami from behind and drops him with a Pop Up Powerbomb. He turns around and is hit with a Phenominal Forearm. AJ covers…1….2….3.

-Kevin Nash announced his official retirement this week.

-Byron Saxton has not found his way out of the doghouse and may not for some time. Going forward the plan is Michael Cole and JBL on RAW.

-WWE Officials are said to be deep in negotiations with NBC Universal with sources only commenting that it involves television contracts.

-WWE also released the new logo for Smackdown on wwe.com

-Kofi Kingston suffered an injury this week at an non-televised event in a singles match with D-Von Dudley. He will miss Extreme Rules and this has caused a small amount of heat backstage on D-Von though most understand it was an accident.

-In other medical news WWE expects to be getting back John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt all in the next month, though their in-character returns are unknown.

-ROH World Champion Jay Lethal dropped the championship to Christopher Daniels this past week. Some talent believe the recent defections of Kenny King, Adam Cole, Chris Sabin, and Roderick Strong have shaken the front office and they put it on Daniels in hopes of keeping him. ROH Officials deny the claim.

RAW 5 Point Preview - Monday Week 3 May 2016 - Going to the Extreme

*Six days ahead of his showdown at Extreme Rules with Smackdown's AJ Styles, WWE Champion Roman Reigns will be on hand. How will the champ prepare for the man who took him to the limit the last time they met?

*The animosity between the Miz and Cesaro is palpable and had lead to their Intercontinental Championship match at Extreme Rules. Two other men having issues are Dean Ambrose and Ryback. The foursome will collide this week in tag action. But will all four men make it to Extreme Rules?

*The Tag Team Champions, the New Day will be present as their powerhouse Big E takes on Bubba Ray Dudley in singles action. Six days from their WW Tag Team Championship match will the champs be taken to Dudleyville early?

*Since his partner Enzo was put on the shelf, Big Cass has strung together some victories on his own. This week he will have the most unusual opponent of his career in Stardust who will be looking to teach him a lesson in the bizarre.

*Last week we saw the League of Nations reunited under Lana's leadership. This week Rusev and King Barrett will be in action against Titus O'Neil and Jack Swagger. Is the League truly refocused or will they implode again? </div>

[Mojo and Gable have a competitive match to start but after about 3 minutes of action, Mojo takes control of the match and has Gable on the ropes multiple times but cannot put him away. Mojo hits the Hyper Drive on a fallen Gable for the 1...2...and Gable kicks out at the last minute. Mojo misses a clothesline and Gable hits a german suplex for a two count. Gable goes for a powerbomb but Mojo reverses it into victory roll for a two count. Mojo goes to the top rope and leaps off for a body press but when he hits his momentum allows Gable to roll through and clinch Mojo in a small package for a quick 3 count.]

Winner: Chad Gable

Grade: 57

[Following the victory, Jordan is in the ring and he and Gable are celebrating, again, a bit too much. Mojo and Zack clearly are not pleased.]

Finn Balor vs Tomasso Ciampa

[balor and Ciampa have a clinical straight up wrestling match. They trade near falls and Ciampa target's Balor's back while Balor target's Ciampa's midsection. Balor goes for the Coup de Grace but Ciampa moves out of the way and hits the powerbomb back breaker for a very long two count. Ciampa gets Balor into the corner and does a series of savate kicks and charges Finn. Finn leaps up over the ropes causing Ciampa to hit the turnbuckles hard and stumble back. Balor leapfrogs off the ropes into a flying clothesline but as they land, Ciampa rolls it into a crossface. Balor is close to tapping when he reaches the ropes. Ciampa goes for another powerbomb but Balor rolls down his back and out of the position and drops Ciampa with a brainbuster. He goes up top, Coup de Grace is connected this time for the 1, 2, 3.]

Winner: Finn Balor

Balor begins to fight back until Joe launches him into the ring post and when he’s dazed he locks in the Coquina Clutch. Balor doesn’t last long in it, but Joe keeps it on. Officials rush down and he only releases it when he’s satisfied. As his music plays Joe looks down at Balor with complete disgust.]
