Hi

You said you would upload your excel file and run a tutorial if asked? I would really appreciate that if possible! I've had my own spreadsheets for years but nothing to this extent

Thanks

I forgot to do this, sorry MrWhippy, I can't even remember which thread we discussed this in, so I'll add it here.

Well, in Excel, Data you can import a table from a database. I find Workers and Contracts enough for all the data I want.

All you have to do is find your FedID by manually looking though the table for your user character.

From there, create some code to search all the contracts that are linked to your FedID, and then bring all those rows into a table, and link those with all the rows which have the corresponding WorkerID.

Then adjust the outcome to remove errors, etc and you're left with whats in the above pic.

It's an hour or two of coding but I only have to do it once. (there is sometimes a small copy error in one of my code sections. I dont know why but sometimes on refresh of data - it mis-copies it. However, grabbing the above row in the right place and copying it down corrects it). The only downside is it gives you actual data, not scouting level data - if you like to have that bit of mystery. I also have some of my own formulas for some comparative numbers.

I say it takes an hour or two, I spent about 20 hours doing the same for TEW13, as I had to use the main database save file and collect about 5 different tables to collate, instead of two, so I was well versed in this when TEW16 had Database exports.

If you want me to upload the excel file and a tutorial on how to use it, I can but you'll probably have to wait till Monday as I work all weekend.

I have added a GUIDE tab in the spreadsheet. So it should be easier to setup. I use Microsoft Office 2013, so items may appear differently in different versions.

If you can solve the bug problem I have, do let me know. It saves me spending a few hours one day working it out. I'll update the file with it once I figure it out.

So let me make sure I got this right, I have to delete ALL of the data in the Contacts tab? I did that and the import data was still "Greyed' out. I am using Office 2016, so I dont know if that is the reason or if i am doing something else wrong. Also do I need to create a MDB file? Because when I do that, it keeps asking me for a password. I am sorry but I am just a noobie at this.

thanks in advance.

Did you use Ctrl+a on the contracts tab and then delete? (If you just select the data manually and delete it, excel may not realise you've removed the database table properly in some cases).

I am still using office 2013, but I don't see why anything would change.

Is that message greyed out on other tabs?

Yes, you need to have created an MDB file for the specific game save you are wanting to use. This is the MDB file created from within the individual save - not the default databse (MDB file) used to start a new game. The option to create an MDB file is found under the "Options" icon. When you create this file, a sub-folder for it will also be created under the specific SaveGame folder. This MDB file will not be password protected.

I'm not sure what the issue might be with regard to importing the file. The instructions on the "Guide" tab do a pretty decent job of walking through the process of loading data from the MDB file. But I'm on Excel 2013, so perhaps there is some change with 2016. After you have deleted all of the information on the '_contract' or '_worker' tab, you should be able to highlight the A1 cell and then select Data from the menu options, and then 'From Access' as the type of data you will be importing.

<p>Thank you for the help... </p><p>

I am going to try it out. If have any other questions, I will hit u up. </p><p> </p><p>

Ghost</p><p> </p><p>

**Update**</p><p> </p><p>

So I deleted all of the files from both the worker and contracts tab and it is still greyed out. now here is the wierd thing, It will let you do it...on the GUIDE tab. but not on the worker or the contract screen. So it might be something going on that tab. </p><p> </p><p>

any ideas?</p>

<p>No idea at all... Maybe it's a 2013 to 2016 converting error.</p><p> </p><p>

Theoretically. So long as you do not Refresh, you could delete the contract and worker tabs, create new ones, import the data and then change their names back to _worker and _contract, then the rest of the references should sort themselves out.</p>

<p>i am going to try that... let you know what happens. </p><p>

wish me luck</p><p> </p><p>

**Update**</p><p> </p><p>

So it looks like that idea about deleting the worker/contracts and creating a new tabs. and that portion did work. Now the issue is code 1 and code 2, it says "Ref!!" on the tabs. </p><p>

Maybe has something to do the formula. </p><p> </p><p>

Sorry for bugging you.</p>

Yeah, that would be Excel realising that those tabs were deleted and freaking out before you renamed the other ones... I'll reupload the file for you WITHOUT my current database contracts and workers.... Wait a little while <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Guess what brotha... </p><p>

I think it may have actually worked?? I am going to tinker around with it a few times and see if there are any more bugs or errors. I hope I was more of a help than a nuisance. </p><p>

<img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Ghost.</p><p> </p><p>

**UPDATE**</p><p> </p><p>

So for the most part, the file is working only one error that I see, and its a minor one. I see that in the Push section, it only shows numbers not the push. Like I said, VERY MINOR.</p>

<p>I actually did this on purpose - turning "Main Event" into "1"... I did this so I could sort my workers by High-Low push (1 Main event, 2 Upper midcard etc) instead of Alphabetical Order Push name (1. Enchancement, 2. Lower Midcard, 3: Main Event. 4. Midcard, etc etc. </p><p> </p><p>

Replace _WorkerSetup cell H5 from "Lots of IF Statements" with "<strong>=_code02!K3</strong>" and drag that down, to get the 'names' of the push</p>

I have a specific mdb file for the game I'm using but that one is password protected for me as well.

That's still the Save File Data... not the Exported MDB. You get the option to name that database when you export it from the options, so it should not be called "TEW2016.mdb"

And the option to export is in game right? I don't see it. Is it maybe only in the full version? I'm still playing around with the trial version.\

edit: I found it. Thanks for the help

<p>It was simpler, but now that the game runs off of Databases, I can see why it would be simpler to export at a database. </p><p> </p><p>

But also, if you wanted any formatting, you'd have to do it each time you exported a new excel file - so my current method allows me to see relevant data at a glance without looking too deeply at numbers. </p><p> </p><p>

I actually don't mind this change, though an expert Access user will laugh lots at the inefficiency I use for my excel sheet. </p><p> </p><p>

Last year, with no export function at all, I had to R1ddleMeTH1s2013 my way through the main save file database, import 8 tables from Access to get the same spreadsheet of information, so this is a much more efficient export rendition (and safer too, as the game wouldn't save if I had recently imported that database into excel and not stopped the connection).</p>

<p>I initially shared this as its what I actively use, so never put much detail into the headers - I know what they mean <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> maybe if I update it later I'll add more comments.</p><p> </p><p>

The custom rating is indeed an estimate formula which is half what is in Derek B's mod making thread from 2013, this is true for the With Overness, though you have to set the figures yourself (there is a 0.3 and a 0.7 in the Worker Setup folder which adjusts the custom ranting to overness, </p><p> </p><p>

The Entertainment rating is an estimate formula for the Entertainemnt skill in angles using facts in the player handbook (which I think I left a screenshot of in Worker Setup. </p><p> </p><p>

Max Entertainment is the Best entertainment skill number for the worker, (out of looks, selling, star quality, etc. Useful if you want to have the worker rated on those instead of overness or general entertainment). The skill in question is the one next to it.</p><p> </p><p>

Skill one and Skill 2 are the names of the workers best tto top row skills.</p><p> </p><p>

Max type is the works value for their highest top row stat</p><p> </p><p>

Stamina is worked out in 5 levels, empty meaning they struggle with 5 minute matches, one quarter for ten minute matches, half for 16 minute matches,s three wasters for 35ish and full for upto an hour ish... It is based off of some 2010 stamina to minutes a worker can compete data someone collected.</p><p> </p><p>

I think the rest is self explanatory...</p><p> </p><p>

Feel free to fiddle with the equations, and move things around. There's probably more accurate data on the forum now for some of these. </p><p> </p><p>

It's all currently setup for my long lasting save game, which uses only one main region. If you're not in the mid south, you'll need to adjust that column (and custom rating with overness too will be affected). If you're getting towards cult, you may want to add a second region overness column. If you're national, you'll want to switch to your country, and maybe other counties in general. I don't play many big companies to begin with, so this table really isn't optimised for them - but if my current save file gets me to that size, I'll release one then.</p><p> </p><p>

In general, you want to edit the WorkerSetup columns, shifting columns and formulas there. The main tab just copies that tab, but adds the conditional formatting and allows you to sort your workers without screwing up the data upon a refresh</p>

<p>Thank you flamingred, just download your spreadsheet then I modify with my own spreadsheet. </p><p> </p><p>

Just wondering, do you have calculation / assumption about the charisma and star quality bonuses on angle or custom rating? Or another possible bonuses.</p>
