I love a good tournament! My early prediction for winner has to be Giant. Booker trying to overcome the massive Giant (who is on his own roll after destroying the boss at Havoc) would make for an excellent Starrcade main event. But if I'm wrong, I look forward to seeing how you play it out!

<p>Awesome looking tournament! I have to agree with Beejus in the early guess being the Giant for me as well. From build, I foresee O'Haire vs. Giant and RVD vs. DDP. But who knows?! Love the possibility as there are a few options I think could happen and was harder for me to guess. <p>That's quite ambitious, I have to say. I usually do a New Japan and have the Crockett Cup before Starrcade or a cross-promotional show if I can manage it. A 32-man tournament is somewhat worrying, I have to say. Shades of the old gimmick Starrcades, in fact.</p><p> </p><p>

Morrus returned from injury this week, but he’s lost some steam since being moved out of the US title picture. Mercifully, the names General Hugh G. Rection and Corporal Cajun do not appear to be returning with the MIA gimmick.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Mike Sanders has also returned from injury, his sprained ankle having healed well. Both Sanders and Morrus are scheduled for tournament bouts at this week’s television. Long-time WWF fans may remember that Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant once teamed as the Mega Bucks — this new tandem is unlikely to main-event quite as many house-shows.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> A ‘Ten-Man Mayhem’ match has been announced to round out the Mayhem PPV card at the end of November. It seems designed to act as a buffer between the various tournament matches on that show, along with getting some of the bigger stars no longer in the tournament on the card. The only name announced thus far is Booker T. The Ten-Man Mayhem match will be held under tornado tag rules and be one fall to a finish, promising a chaotic bout.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> A range of talents have held try-outs in recent weeks as WWF management intend on formally separating their developmental territories. Ohio Valley Wrestling will be exclusively for talents intended for WCW, while Heartland Wrestling Association will house WWF’s developmental workers. Note that this separation is far from concrete, as it’s expected that plans may change and various talents will shift between the territories, and may be called up to any of the two promotions.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Speaking of developmental, the next talent to be called up to WCW is Rob Conway, a polished if unspectacular worker. Initial plans seem to point towards reforming his tag-team with Nick Dinsmore, which was known as the ‘Lords of the Ring’ in OVW. No word yet if he’ll be saddled with the same lame surgeon gimmick. He appears to be going face, despite most reports from OVW indicating that Conway is a natural heel.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> We’ve been asked to comment on the rumours circulating that a major former WCW star is expected to return in time for Starrcade. We’ve reached out to backstage sources, but can’t confirm the story, nor the names involved. Kanyon manages to roll out of the way, however — and Van Dam gets nothing but the ring canvas! Staggering to his feet, Kanyon drags up RVD and nails a desperation Flatliner. Kaz is furious at the deal being broken, hitting a tope con hilo to the outside that wipes Chavo out! One… two… kick-out! Page has survived Raven’s finisher, which only serves to enrage his opponent. The two exchange slugging forearms as they struggle to remain upright, before Raven blocks a Diamond Cutter attempt, DDP blocks an Evenflow attempt, and the two collapse in a heap on the floor, still beating on each other. The tussle continues until Raven manages to cradle DDP, holding the tights hard as he sneaks a win! At last week’s Saturday Night dark matches, his partner Air Styles instead teamed with Shane Helms, who has a new superhero gimmick — ‘Hurricane’ Helms.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> In a more major injury, Shannon Moore picked up a damaged knee-cap on the same show facing WCW TV champion Steve Corino. He’s expected out for around a month, which must be frustrating for Moore as an angle involving him joining the James Mitchell stable was expected to play out in the coming weeks, given that 3 Count have went their separate ways.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> In a follow-up from last week’s rumor on a major WCW star returning in time for Starrcade, we can reveal that a deal has indeed been made, and that said star will be returning on television some time in December for a build towards their re-debut match, to be held on PPV. Who is it? You’ll see the name on other sites if you really want to find it, but we prefer to keep things a surprise where possible. Why ruin the moment?</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Huge changes have occurred in the developmental leagues, Ohio Valley Wrestling and Heartland Wrestling Association. We’ve hinted at what’s to come in past weeks, but the rosters have now been officially restructured — OVW will house WCW prospects, while HWA takes the WWF’s developmental talent. We’ll have lists of the key talents in each promotion next week, along with some of the new hires that have been brought in to pad out each roster.</div><br /></li><li><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I’m not sure exactly when this happened, but in recent shows, Kid Romeo’s name appears to have been shortened to Romeo.
