<strong>Weekly News Update - Week 3, August 2001</strong></p><p> </p><p>

We can exclusively reveal that after negotiations have been completed, the new WCW B-Show ‘Worldwide’ will air in two weeks time, and afterwards on a weekly basis in a graveyard Friday night slot. The show is said to be an hour, and as reported before, will feature talent that rarely sees air time on WCW Saturday Night.</p><p> </p><p>

Bad news for Canadian WCW fans: Lance Storm has sustained a bicep tear, which should put him on the shelf for a month. Even worse, his tag partner Mike Awesome has been sent to rehab for drug addiction. This is also a blow for Steve Corino and Crowbar, who had started a program with Team Canada that was expected to conclude at the next PPV, Road Wild.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of Road Wild, a largely complete card has been announced on WCW.com:</p><p>

- WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Booker T © vs Raven</p><p>

- WCW United States Championship: Hugh Morrus © vs Eddy Guerrero</p><p>

- Diamond Dallas Page vs Rob Van Dam</p><p>

- WCW World Tag Team Championship: Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn © vs KroniK vs Natural Born Thrillers</p><p>

- WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Billy Kidman © vs Mike Sanders</p><p>

- WCW Cruiserweight Trios Championship: Jung Dragons © vs 3 Count</p><p> </p><p>

Any additional matches or directions may be announced on television this week or next.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW Saturday Night - Week 3, August 2001</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dark Matches:</strong></p><p>

- Christopher Daniels, Reno & Dave Taylor beat Jason Jett, Cash & Kwee Wee (53)</p><p>

- Norman Smiley beat Randy Orton (56)</p><p>

- Steve Corino & Crowbar beat The Dynasty (60)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: A New Debut (81)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20McMahon_zpsywl3l26v.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/DLo%20Brown%202_zpsg4baph73.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Shane McMahon is in ring to begin the show, and announces a main event of Booker T vs Dean Malenko. “And that’s not all: I’m proud to announce my newest talent acquisition… the Real D’Lo!” The crowd goes wild as the man formerly known as D’Lo Brown struts down the ramp shaking his head from side to side.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lash LeRoux vs The Real D’Lo - 10:00 (58)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Lash%20LeRoux_zpsl3xgf7yl.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/DLo%20Brown%202_zpsg4baph73.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

A swaggering, overconfident D’Lo takes liberties with Lash early, but LeRoux makes him pay with high-flying offense. D’Lo is on the retreat for most of the match, but catches LeRoux off guard and turns the tables. One Lo Down later and he’s savoring a debut victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner: The Real D’Lo</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: Mirror Image (60)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mike%20Sanders_zpszscal8ch.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mark%20Jindrak_zpsxcaxveef.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Mike Sanders is stood in front of a mirror, posing with his stolen WCW Cruiserweight Championship. A large dark figure appears behind him, and he turns in fear to find… Mark Jindrak! Sanders laughs nervously, then gloats that “Kidman has a title match tonight, but where’s his title?”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Billy Kidman © vs Elix Skipper - 12:00 (72)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/BillyKidmankyky_zpsv3ejofoa.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwcw_zpswnxbhxzs.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Elix%20Skipper_zps7ael5m7v.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

It’s a Cruiserweight title match, but Kidman comes out without the belt, which infuriates Skipper. The match gets underway nonetheless, and after an even affair, Mike Sanders wanders down the ramp with the Cruiserweight belt in hand: “Who’s the Champ? I’m the Champ!” He tries to distract Kidman, but only succeeds in attracting an annoyed Skipper’s attention. Kidman rolls up Elix for a flash pin!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Still WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: No place to hide (60)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/BillyKidmankyky_zpsv3ejofoa.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mike%20Sanders_zpszscal8ch.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mark%20Jindrak_zpsxcaxveef.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Kidman quickly runs down Sanders, pushing him to the floor outside the ring and seizing back his Cruiserweight championship. Mark Jindrak comes lumbering down the aisle, but Kidman is too quick and escapes through the crowd!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: Raven promo (78)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Raven cuts a promo directly to the camera. “Booker T, you like to call me a crook, but I am many things more. I am an outcast of society, a martyr for the new generation, a God to these ungrateful fans — but I am also a very, very dangerous man. Just ask Chris Kanyon in his hospital bed. Or wait until next Sunday at Road Wild, and find out first hand. Quote the Raven nevermore.”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Raven & Rob Van Dam vs Air Raid - 10:00 (78)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Air%20Paris_zpsqeeueugl.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/AJ%20Styles_zpsmzruggpb.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

An extended squash match, with RVD showboating and Raven being particularly vicious with the young Cruiserweight team. Air Styles gets a brief hope spot against Raven, but is planted hard with an Evenflow DDT.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Raven & Rob Van Dam</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: BANG! (78)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

After commercial break, Raven has left but Rob Van Dam is still celebrating in the ring. He does his thumb-pose taunt as the crowd rain down boos, before DDP slides quietly into the ring — as Van Dam turns around, he walks straight into a Diamond Cutter! DDP grabs a mic: “Yo, was I too slow that time, RVD? BANG!”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Radicalz (Eddy Guerrero & Perry Saturn) vs Natural Born Thrillers - 16:00 (81)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Eddy%20Guerrero_zpsdxzst5kp.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Perry%20Saturn_zps4q1oq0yk.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chuck%20Palumbo_zpsycvvshzr.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Guerrero and Saturn are in control early, working on the taped leg of Chuck Palumbo. Palumbo makes the hot tag and O’Haire briefly runs wild, before the Radicalz cut him off. Eddy Guerrero’s music plays for some reason, and Hugh Morrus comes out wearing a cheap mullet wig and doing Eddy’s signature taunts. Guerrero is furious and chases Morrus up the ramp, leaving Saturn to be double-teamed and beaten.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Natural Born Thrillers</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: Band Practice (60)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20Helms_zpsa1omucvp.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shannon%20Moore_zps2iykwdl6.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Evan%20Karagias_zpsiamkvklt.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The fully-reformed 3 Count are backstage practising miming along to the words of “Can’t Get You Out Of My Heart.” Helms stops his partners and there’s a record scratch: “Look, singing won’t win us those Trios championships. It’s a wrestling match, not a concert, so listen up.” He calls Moore and Karagias in for a team huddle, and they talk strategy.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: Booker T promo (83)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Gene%20Okerlund%202_zpsini3f2io.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Gene Okerlund is with Booker T, who cuts a fiery babyface promo: “I’m focused on Malenko tonight, man. But Raven? You call yourself an outcast and a martyr, but I just see a jackass and a -sucka-. At Road Wild, I’m gonna turn you into roadkill, dog — quote the Booker nevermore!”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: LOUD VOICES, YEAH (87)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Brian%20Adams_zps8txes64b.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Bryan%20Clark_zpsymprtd6l.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chuck%20Palumbo_zpsycvvshzr.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

We cut backstage, to where the Natural Born Thrillers and KroniK are having a heated argument — the WCW World Tag Team Championships are mentioned, but beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. Clark shoves O’Haire, who decks him — Adams and Palumbo join the fray, and only a dozen or so security are able to separate them.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Booker T vs Dean Malenko - 22:00 (90)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Dean%20Malenko_zpsxxurrxce.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

A slow technical match-up in the beginning, with Malenko keeping Booker grounded in a series of submission holds. The Champ feeds on the crowd’s energy and makes a comeback, and after a series of very exciting near-falls nails Malenko with a Book End and finishes him off with an Axe Kick.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Booker T</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Angle: Raven Strikes (94)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Booker T is in the middle of the ring celebrating his win whenever Raven makes his way out of the crowd and sneak-attacks him from behind! He goes to the outside and grabs a chair, rolling back in and walloping Booker on the back. He lays the chair down and sets him up for the Evenflow DDT onto the chair, but Booker barely powers out and rocks him with a series of woozy punches, knocking Raven out of the ring. Booker collapses in the middle of the ring, his energy spent — and a slightly punch-drunk Raven just leans on the ring-apron outside, laughing madly.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show rating:</strong> 84</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>BONUS:</strong></p><p>

<strong>- The ‘Real Deal’ debuting versus Lash LeRoux:</strong> The Real D’Lo, aka D’Lo Brown</p><p>

<strong>-Match of the Night:</strong> Booker T vs Dean Malenko (90)</p><p>

<strong>-Worst Match of the Night:</strong> Lash LeRoux vs The Real D’Lo (58)</p>

Weekly News - Week 4, August 2001

Internally, sources claim that management is thrilled with the Raven character since his heel turn, and believes that the Booker T/Raven match is primed to do big business for the company in its second PPV. We’re being told that the program is unlikely to last after the Bash at the Beach, as creative have fresh directions for both men. There is no indication on who walks out WCW World Heavyweight Champion, however.

As suspected, Christopher Daniels’ absence on television the last two weeks has been part of an angle involving James Vandenberg (now going by his real name, James Mitchell).

The Real D’Lo (formerly D’Lo Brown) debuted with some fanfare last week, but is expected to mainly serve as a midcard gatekeeper to work with younger talent — after months spent in WWF developmental following the tragic injury to Droz and an ill-fated Lo Down unit with Chaz Warrington and Tiger Ali Singh, management has decided to give him another shot in the new WCW.

Speaking of developmental, we can confirm that the following female wrestlers have been told to report to Ohio Valley Wrestling in the coming days:

- Ariel (Portuguese-American Ana Rocha, wrestled first match in May)

- Cheerleader Melissa (Melissa Anderson, from the California independent scene)

- Jazz (of ECW fame)

- Lisa Marie Varon (California scene standout, recently played ‘the Head Ho’ as part of the Right to Censor storyline)

- Mickie James (Funkin’ Conservatory and ECW Dojo trainee)

- MsChif (Rachel Frobel from Missouri, who only wrestled her first match last month)

- Nikita (Katarina Waters, from the British scene)

- Precious Lucy (Gen Goulet, from the Quebec independents)

These are largely the women who impressed OVW trainers most at try-outs this month. Some have literally not worked more than half a dozen matches, but are considered to be hot prospects with potential and good fundamentals. It is expected that they will spend several months in developmental before seeing daylight in either WCW or WWF, and a couple could face the axe down the line if they are not considered ‘TV-ready’ prospects.

On the male side, those developmental workers said to be impressing management most at present include the Haas Brothers (Charlie & Russ), Flash Flanagan, the Minnesota Stretching Crew (Shelton Benjamin and star prospect Brock Lesnar, who is reportedly signed to a 300k per annum deal) and late-bloomer Rico Constantino. Nick Dinsmore has already reportedly been told that he will be starting on the road with WCW imminently, and has been growing out his hair and beard for an unspecified new gimmick.

WCW Saturday Night - Week 4, August 2001

Dark Matches:

Christopher Daniels, Dave Taylor, Johnny the Bull & Reno beat Air Raid, Jason Jett & Kwee Wee (53)

Lash LeRoux & Cash beat Kid Romeo & Randy Orton (58)

Angle: A Radical Return (70)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Eddy%20Guerrero_zpsdxzst5kp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Hugh%20Morrus_zpsmc2y7azt.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chavo%20Guerrero%20Jr_zpseehinxo8.jpg

Eddy Guerrero is out to start the show, cutting a fiery promo against Hugh Morrus for his antics last week. On cue, Guerrero’s music plays again as a wig-wearing Morrus struts his stuff down the ramp. As he reaches ringside however, he’s blindsided by the returning Chavo Guerrero Jr., who comes out of the crowd and puts the boots to him. “You can dress and act like a Guerrero all you want, esse,” Eddy explains, “but my nephew Chavito -is- a Guerrero. And he’s a Radical too — he’s been one all along, man.”

Angle: Hot Topic (69)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mike%20Tenay_zpshgjwnj6s.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Arn%20Anderson%207_zpsdhxshxhj.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Bobby%20Heenan_zpsxk75iyb9.jpg

As Morrus is helped out, the commentators ponder Eddy’s words. “A Radical all along?” Tenay asks. “Does that mean we know the identity of the man who kept letting them in the building against Shane’s orders?” Bobby shrugs: “That’s speculation — the Radicalz are just another part of the roster now, right?” Arn disagrees: “We still don’t know what their real agenda is, Brain. I think they’re working for Vince McMahon.” Heenan scoffs: “I’m surrounded by conspiracy nuts, Lord help me.”

3 Count (Shane Helms & Shannon Moore) w/ Evan Karagias vs Jung Dragons (Kaz Hayashi & Yang) w/ Yoshihiro Tajiri - 16:00 (67)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20Helms_zpsa1omucvp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shannon%20Moore_zps2iykwdl6.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Kaz%20Hayashi_zps768fz2pd.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Yun%20Yang_zpswvffbmnj.jpg

Unlike a lot of fast-paced Cruiserweight bouts, this match is given a long time to breathe, with Helms and Moore working on Hayashi’s arm throughout. The Dragons gain an advantage, but with Yang on the top rope looking for Yang Time, Moore distracts the referee and Karagias leaps onto the apron to push Yang off! Helms lifts him up and hits the vertebreaker for the pin.

Winner: 3 Count (Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias)

Angle: Encore! (57)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shane%20Helms_zpsa1omucvp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Shannon%20Moore_zps2iykwdl6.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Evan%20Karagias_zpsiamkvklt.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Yoshihiro%20Tajiri_zpshti5ou0b.jpg

3 Count are still in the ring after commercials, and do their mimed song and dance routine to “Can’t Get You Out Of My Heart.” Their performance is disrupted whenever Yoshihiro Tajiri slides into the ring and sprays Karagias with the poison mist! Tajiri gives a green grin as he walks up the ramp, with Helms and Moore trying to clear the mist from Karagias’ eyes.

Angle: Raven & RVD promo (82)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Gene%20Okerlund%202_zpsini3f2io.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpg

Gene Okerlund is backstage with Raven and Rob Van Dam — he asks them if they’re worried about facing two multiple-time world champions in the main-event. RVD shrugs and stays silent, while Raven puts a hand on Gene’s shoulder and says: “Are you worried, Gene? Because you should be. And so should Booker and Page tonight. I’ve beat DDP, I beat down Book. Quote the Raven nevermore.”

Billy Kidman vs Mark Jindrak w/ Mike Sanders - 12:00 (69)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/BillyKidmankyky_zpsv3ejofoa.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Mark%20Jindrak_zpsxcaxveef.jpg

A David versus Goliath affair, with Kidman wriggling out of Jindrak’s power moves before falling prey to a spinebuster. Sanders steals the Cruiserweight championship from ringside again, and runs off with it. Kidman is momentarily distracted, but still manages to finish Jindrak off with a head-scissors followed by the Shooting Star Press off the top.

Winner: Billy Kidman

Natural Born Thrillers & KroniK vs The Radicalz (Eddy Guerrero, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko & Chavo Guerrero Jr.) - 20:00 (82)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Sean%20OHaire_zpseth8qhqk.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chuck%20Palumbo_zpsycvvshzr.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Brian%20Adams_zps8txes64b.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Bryan%20Clark_zpsymprtd6l.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Eddy%20Guerrero_zpsdxzst5kp.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Perry%20Saturn_zps4q1oq0yk.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Dean%20Malenko_zpsxxurrxce.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Chavo%20Guerrero%20Jr_zpseehinxo8.jpg

The Thrillers and KroniK begin the match trying to one-up each other, taunting each other and making blind tags. The Radicalz exploit this dissension, all four making frequent tags in and out as they work on Brian Adams. Adams makes his own comeback before tagging to Clark, specifically avoiding both Thrillers. O’Haire and Palumbo shrug and simply leave — Adams is knocked from the apron by both Guerreros, and Saturn locks in the Rings of Saturn on Clark for the submission victory.

Winner: The Radicalz

Angle: DDP and Booker promo (98)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg

DDP and Booker T are backstage, hyping each other up. Booker T exclaims: “I can’t -wait- to get my hands on that dirty, greasy Raven tonight, dog!” DDP chuckles, saying: “And I get -my- hands on that stuck-up schmuck Van Dam. Christmas comes early, Booker Man — we don’t have to wait for Sunday. BANG!”

Rob Van Dam & Raven vs Booker T & Diamond Dallas Page - 24:00 (84)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwvs_zpsxl49on5w.pnghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpg

A long match with lots of playing the crowd, which builds from a slow start to exciting near-falls near its conclusion. Raven and DDP brawl outside, before Booker gets involved too. RVD comes off the top rope with a senton, taking all three of them out! Van Dam crawls back into the ring, just making the count of ten, but DDP is still on the floor.

Winner: Rob Van Dam & Raven (by count-out)

Angle: Aftermath (98)

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Rob%20Van%20Dam_zpsmhyyegx2.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpghttp://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Diamond%20Dallas%20Page_zpsfca71kzu.jpg

RVD rolls back outside and helps a woozy Raven to his feet. They grab DDP and throw him back into the ring, before grabbing steel chairs — RVD plants Page in the corner and puts a chair over his face, beginning to climb the opposite turnbuckle. RVD takes his time and plays to the crowd arrogantly, before hitting the Van Terminator, flying across the ring and driving his feet into DDP’s skull!

Meanwhile on the outside, Raven nails Booker T with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, busting him open. Raven holds the title high, then drops it on the fallen champion’s chest as the show fades to black.

Show rating: 87

<p>Booker T - <em>It's going to be a bigger bad than Raven to take the belt from Booker.</em></p><p>

The Radicalz - <em>O'Haire and Palumbo will probably break up in the near future so that Sean can start his singles push to the top, and Kronik aren't really cut for Tag title runs. Keep the belts where they are.</em></p><p>

3 Count perform their song before the match, then decide on an encore performance, but the Dragons clear the ring. A high-flying opening bout with both teams evenly matched, neither able to get an advantage for too long. After Hayashi and Yang wipe out all three of their opponents with stereo topes to the outside, a dazed Karagias grabs a Trios title belt to nail Tajiri in the ring. Tajiri feigns blowing the poison mist, causing Evan to drop the title and cower in fear — one Buzzsaw Kick later and he’s counting the lights.</p><p> </p><p>

Sanders demands to be announced as WCW Cruiserweight Champion, and throws a fit when the ring announcer declines. Kidman controls the match in the early going, managing to get the best of the challenger. Sanders fakes a knee injury, and as the ref attends to him, Jindrak capitalises on the distraction by pulling Kidman outside and throwing him into the steel steps. Sanders takes over on offense, but Kidman eventually makes his comeback and hits the Kid Krusher in the centre of the ring for the win.</p><p> </p><p>

Kidman is finally reunited with his Cruiserweight title belt! He raises it high in the air, when Chavo Guerrero Jr. attacks out of nowhere, nailing Kidman from behind! Chavo hits the Gory Bomb, then looks down the aisle to Sanders, who is being carried out in Jindrak’s arms. Guerrero grins to himself, picks up the title belt and absconds with it himself!</p><p> </p><p>

Gene Okerlund is with Booker T, and asks the Champion if he’s prepared for Raven’s tricks tonight. “I tell you what, Mean Gene, I know all about Raven’s tricks. I’ll admit, he’s beaten me down, he’s hit me with my own World title belt, he’s made me bleed, man. But I’m still here, I’m still standing, and if you want to play tricks on me tonight, dog — take your best shot, ‘cause you better not miss. Daniels is accompanied to the ring by James Mitchell, who whispers in his ear before the bout begins. The match is quick and chaotic, with everyone getting in their signature spots. Air Raid wipe out Skipper and Romeo outside, taking all four men out of the equation. In the end, Real D’Lo hits the Lo Down on Smiley, and goes up top for the Sky High frog splash when Daniels tags in and instead delivers the Last Rites. As the ref counts the pinfall, D’Lo is left standing on the turnbuckle — and does not look pleased.</p><p> </p><p>

Van Dam tries to exhaust Page in the early going, rolling outside, taunting DDP and forcing him to give chase around the ring. DDP finally catches his opponent, brutalising him with stiff shots and power moves. RVD eventually turns the tables by the conclusion of the match, going for the Five Star Frog Splash — but gets DDP’s knees to the gut! Clutching his ribs, Van Dam tries to keep the pressure on, but Page dodges a spin-kick and nails him with the Diamond Cutter out of nowhere!</p><p> </p><p>

Rob Van Dam rolls to the outside groaning, clutching his ribs. Gene Okerlund enters the ring with a microphone to interview DDP, asking him for any comments on his victory: “Yo Gene…” DDP exclaims, half out of breath, “Rob Van Dam… thought he could make a name at my expense… but I just showed him why I ain’t the man to mess with. Why?” DDP points to himself with his thumbs, mocking RVD’s signature taunt: “‘Cause I’m… D… D… P! BANG!”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW United States Championship: Hugh Morrus © vs Eddy Guerrero - 18:00 (80)</strong></p><p>

Morrus is out in his regular attire and doesn’t look to be in a joking mood tonight. He wipes the floor with Eddy early, and looks to end his career with a devastating powerbomb from the ring-apron to the outside! Guerrero desperately wriggles out and trips Morrus, causing him to fall and get caught with one leg in the apron. Eddy keeps him trapped, delivering blow after blow to the leg as the referee tries to help the US Champion out of his predicament. Once Morrus is free, Eddy continues to work the leg and applies the Lasso from El Paso in the centre of the ring. Morrus reaches for the ropes, but as Guerrero ratchets up the pressure, he’s forced to tap before the leg snaps.</p><p> </p><p>

Raven is in a dark corridor backstage, and stares directly into the camera. He gives a sickening grin. “Chris, this one is for you. I hope you’re watching from the hospital. I hope you watch as I dismantle Booker T, beat him down, break every bone in his body and take the one thing he values most from him — the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. And when I hold the title high above my head and the referee announces me the winner, just listen to that little voice in your head telling you: ‘Raven was right. And this is what a -real- champion looks like.’ Quote the Raven nevermore.”</p><p> </p><p>

Malenko and Saturn find themselves between a rock and a hard place early as KroniK and the Thrillers toss them around with ease. Eventually the two hulking teams get face to face and go at it, with hard-hitting offense and huge slams. KroniK take O’Haire out with a resounding double chokeslam on the outside, then Palumbo annihilates Adams and himself with a spear through the timekeeper’s area! Malenko and Saturn pick the scraps, hurriedly double-teaming Clark and putting him away with Total Elimination before the others outside can recover.</p><p> </p><p>

In fitting with the PPV theme, Booker makes his entrance on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, revving the engines as he rides down to the ringside area. Raven looks on unimpressed, arms folded as he sits slumped in the corner of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Booker T © vs Raven - 28:00 (92)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Booker%20T_zpssx8il2jn.jpg</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/wcwheavyweight_zps9nk0igta.png</span><span>http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z459/kazkukat/WCW%202001/Raven%204_zpsmnr2wxw3.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd is electric for this match, buzzing as the two slowly lock up. Booker gets the advantage early, but Raven brings the fight to the outside and throws the Champ into the barricades. With Booker’s back hurting, Raven picks him apart, cutting him off each time he tries to make a comeback. Eventually the people will Booker back into it, and he runs wild on Raven — he goes for the Axe Kick, but Raven dodges and hits the Evenflow DDT! 1… 2…</p><p> </p><p>

No! Booker kicks out at the last second, and Raven is livid. He argues with the referee then decks him in the face, knocking him out! He heads to the outside to grab a chair and beats down Booker, before throwing it down and positioning him for the Evenflow on the chair. He’s unable to lock the arms, and the two battle in a strength of will before Booker pushes up and hits a desperation Northern Light’s suplex, breaking Raven’s grip. With Raven struggling to reach his feet, the Champ hits the ropes and nails the Axe Kick — with Raven driven face first into his own chair! Booker pushes the chair out of the ring, hooks the leg… and the referee revives long enough to count slowly to three. </p><p> </p><p>

Raven is still in the middle of the ring, not moving. Booker T celebrates his victory, holding the World Championship high as he walks up the ramp. The announcers suddenly sound panicked, and announce that something is happening in the back. </p><p> </p><p>

Cameras cut backstage to Shane McMahon’s office, where none other than WWF superstar Big Show is roughing up the WCW boss! He throws him hard against the wall, then roars as security rushes into the cramped office! Show flings security away like nothing, before picking Shane up and hoisting him high in the air, before chokeslamming him hard through a glass coffee table, the frame shattering! As the show fades to black, Mike Tenay exclaims: “What the hell is going on…?”</p><p> </p><p>
