I can understand that. My experience with Natalie is that she's more willing to participate in the risqué stuff and she can develop nicely with the right matches, but she does start fairly low on the skill set. It can take 20-30 matches before she becomes useful, and I'm sure that's a bit of a problem for a small promotion like yours which is struggling. You can't afford someone who has to always be in "throwaway" matches.

I know how that can work. There are a couple girls in Kitsune Wrestling who never seemed to take off despite ranking in the top 5 in something. As the promotion grows I turn them into "gatekeeper" types where they can defeat any midcarder, but I never look to push them into the main event. And a couple might find their contracts don't get renewed. They get leapfrogged by other wrestlers who are just better in some way. You might start to notice that in my dynasty. As I grew to small I made quite a few subtle changes and ended up completely upending the rankings. And the changes continued as I brought in new people who proved better than anyone I had in the midcard despite starting at lower popularity.

Yeah, I'm still adjusting to the switch from five shows a month to only eight a year. I was used to just picking someone I wanted to get over, and then booking them in squashes, but obviously that doesn't work for every wrestler anymore. :)

Simony getting over at least taught me what wrestlers will work best with my booking style. The hiring will eventually shift towards people that are competent in the ring but great at entertainment, at least when it comes to ones earmarked for the top of the card.

I was used to hiring projects as well, but as you can tell, it doesn't really work with so few shows per year (more self-inflicted wounds). That's why I'm so thrilled whenever another promotion hires a member of the roster (it's already paying off for Maria in QAW).

The booking is set through June 2017, so Ariel has until then to deliver.

I'm supposed to guess?

Guess the debuting wrestler: No idea. A stab in the dark

The next interlude, The Last Night of BSC, should hopefully provide more clues in where booking and hiring is going. In general, I'll only ask about people that will be important to storylines. :D

I've never used the book a ton of squashes method. I know it works, but I always find myself trying to pair up wrestlers who can teach each other something. The most I'll do is have a favored wrestler win a lot unless they go up against someone supposed to defeat them. Sadly, this can end up giving some lower midcarders really bad momentum.

I found the same thing in my dynasty. I'm actually simmed through August 2018 (which means I can't offer prizes to people guessing.), but a couple of my pushes towards the main event occurred after discovering chemistry or in one case having 2 different opponents e-mail me to say that X wrestler will be a star. And in the case of the e-mails, it wasn't someone I was looking at as a potential main eventer until after the second e-mail.

I always cringe a little when another promotion grabs one of my workers. I remember a game I played in TEW2010 where one of my workers got a second offer and in two months became so over I couldn't use him. That isn't as dangerous in an all female promotion, but in an RTG you start out with such low prestige that you lose workers if you have a show on the same night as a competitor. Not something I like.

Gives her time, hopefully she'll show something.

I can say its interesting seeing where you are going compared to where I am. We seem to be diverging more than a little as both games continue.

<p>Chapter 9 Interlude: The Last Night of BSC</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Part One: Highway Robbery</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p>

<em>Fifteen months earlier…</em></p><p> </p><p>

<div style="border: solid 5px #000020;"></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">Kate Avatar should be happy; she should be thrilled. Two days earlier, BSC put on one of the company’s best shows ever, but it was on that night, after that show, that Kate learned the truth. The truth about Honey, the truth about BSC, the truth about what had allowed Kate to take a group of strippers and in five years, build the most successful Women’s promotion in the world.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate lets out a long sigh as she looks out of her office window high above the Las Vegas Strip. “I should call the police,” Kate mutters, but she can’t bring herself to pick up the phone.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ms. Avatar, Sara Silver is here to see you,” the voice of Kate’s assistant comes through the intercom, breaking Hell Cat’s concentration.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Thanks Sandy, let her in,” Kate rubs the sleep out of her bloodshot eyes as BSC’s lead color commentator walks through the door.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/PbIGeJC.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Kate, have you heard anything from Honey today?!” The usually calm and collected Silver is nearly out of breath as she stands in front of Kate’s desk. “I’ve being trying to reach her for two hours, but my phone calls go straight to voicemail and she won’t respond to my emails or texts.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Sara, she’s probably just at one of her three hour massages,” Kate tries to sound dismissive, but can’t hide the worry in her voice.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“It’s just that…” Sara’s face turns white and tears start to form in her eyes.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“She told you, didn’t she?” Kate gets out of her chair and walks over to Silver with her hands clenched.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“It’s just…oh God…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Sara, what did you do?” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What was I supposed to do Kate?! Honey is my friend and she needed my help,” Sara looks at Hell Cat as tears roll down her cheeks.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Sara, don’t tell me you…” Kate places her hands on her glass-topped desk, breathing in and out slowly in an attempt to calm down.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“She needed me to sign Kate, to get the money. We went to the bank this morning.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“How much Sara?” Kate fingernails dig into the glass as she strains to keep her composure.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“How much what?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“How much of the money did she take out?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What do you mean? All of it. That’s what she needed in order to keep them from killing her.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The image of $4,000,000 disappearing into thin air flashes through Kate’s mind. “F*CK!!!” Kate screams as she slams her fists into her desk, “Do you realize what you’ve done Sara?! We’re done, we’re finished!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“But she needed it…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate lets out a long sigh before grabbing her purse and her laptop. Brushing by Silver, Hell Cat heads for her office door.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Where are you going?” Sara is barely able to keep up with Kate’s pace as Hell Cat walks past her assistant and towards an elevator.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’ve got some things I need to do to make this right, at least as much as I can. Meet me at the arena at 5 pm. If this is going to be our last show, then we’re going to make it one to remember.”</div></div>

Chapter 9 Interlude: The Last Night of BSC - Part Two

BSC Presents - End of the Line

July 1, 2015

Live from Orleans Arena

Las Vegas, Nevada

Attendance: 7,700

Pre-Show Dark Match: Fresh Petals (Debbie Rose and Kate Lily) defeat Osaka Express (Etsuko Arihyoshi and Gemmei Oonishi) – Match Rating: D

A quick victory for Fresh Petals, who have been serving mostly as a stepping stone for new teams in the tag division. For Etsuko and Gemmei, BSC management still does not seem to have a plan for the Japanese imports a year after hiring them.

</div>

It would not be a BSC show without some sexual innuendo. The tag team of Britney Hollywood and Sprite appear on the arena’s video screen. After some banter back and forth, Britney loudly shows Sprite how to fake an orgasm.

http://i.imgur.com/edRtd6R.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/tUAx5Co.jpg

The camera pans out to show Lindsay Sugar and Coco De La Soleil standing in a nearby line for catering. In unison, the two women say “I’ll have what she’s having.”

Pre-Show Dark Match: All-Naturals (Christie Higgins and Dharma Gregg) defeat The Neptune Twins (Jen Neptune and Kathy Neptune) – Match Rating: C

Another quick match with All-Naturals getting the victory. Christie and Dharma appear to be moving back into the tag title scene, while the Neptune Twins carry out their usual duty of making their opponents look great.

</div>

Show Opening:

A series of loud fireworks go off in Orleans Arena to kick off the End of the Line internet broadcast as the camera focuses in on the special set. Sand covers the stage underneath the large video screen, with beach balls and palm trees scattered throughout.

Sara Silver’s voice is heard as the camera cuts to the announcers’ table.

http://i.imgur.com/4RrVGNR.jpg

Silver: “Greetings you dirty rotten scoundrels out in Internet Land; I am the Silver-Tongued one herself. Most of you will probably notice that my usual partner, Honey Golightly, is not next to me. Honey unfortunately is, uh, under the weather, so I’m joined for tonight’s broadcast by legend Belle Bryden. Say hi to the folks Belle.”

http://i.imgur.com/ldrmCDk.jpg

Bryden: “It’s Mrs. Bryden to you Silver.”

Silver: “Alright then Mrs. Bryden. Our fans out there may have also noticed that tonight’s show is now named End of the Line instead of Line in the Sand. What do you think about that?”

Bryden: “Well hopefully it signals the end for that wretched Kate Avatar as she puts her career on the line against Talia Quinzel in a Last Woman Standing match.”

Silver: “Sounds like someone is still mad about Hell Cat toppling their little group.”

Bryden: “Nothing is forever Silver, except Generations.”

http://i.imgur.com/qs8OWNK.jpg

begins playing throughout the arena and the crowd boos loudly as Fuyuko Higa appears on the stage. The member of Foreign Exchange has a sour look on her face as she heads down the ramp.

Silver: “It’s looks like things are about to get interesting. The self-described Great One isn’t scheduled for a match tonight, so I’m not sure what business she has out here.”

Bryden: “She’s the best in the world Silver, she doesn’t need your worthless approval.”

Higa signals for a microphone and in only slightly accented English, begins to address the jeering crowd, “Cut my music, the Great One has something to say.” The boos intensify much to Fuyuko’s disdain, “This country is the worst! In Japan, I would never be treated like this.” Higa acts as if she is going to drop the microphone and leave the ring before finally continuing. “I stand here as the best in the world, but I do not face anyone tonight? That is what you Americans call…bull shit. So since I am already in the ring, if there is anyone out there that wants to face me, let them show their guts!”

A momentary pause is broken by Pat Benatar’s
, bringing out Sara Marie York to a loud pop.

http://i.imgur.com/Ks4yv7z.jpg

Silver: “Oh my goodness, the CWWF World champion is here and it looks like she’s ready for fight. What a treat!”

Bryden: “Ugh, not this goody two-shoes.”

Dressed in a short skirt and pull over sweater, Miss Sara looks more like a secretary than a wrestler, but her appearance has still infuriated Fuyuko. Stomping around the ring, Higa protests the unfairness of her open challenge actually being answered to anyone who will listen.

Miss Sara enters the ring with a smile on her face, “Fuyuko, you call yourself the best in the world, but how is that possible when you’ve never faced me?” The crowd roars with approval as Higa paces back and forth. Finally, Fuyuko nods and the recently arrived referee calls for the bell.

<div style="border: solid 5px #C5B358;">

Fuyuko Higa defeats Sara Marie York - Match Rating: C+

A slight disappointment given the abilities of the competitors involved, Fuyuko and Sara still manage to put on a good opener for the crowd. Fuyuko eventually gets the upper hand and hits the Higa Green Driver (package piledriver) for the pin.

</div>

Silver: “Wow, what a match!”

Bryden: “And that is why Fuyuko is the Great One.”

Covered in sweat and breathing heavily, Higa demands a microphone. “Paige Croft, you see that?! That is what you have coming to you. You do not deserve to be champion. I am the best in the world!”

Silver: “Well she certainly doesn’t lack for any self-confidence, but you have to wonder if she will be singing the same tune if Foreign Exchange’s leader, Alicia Strong, wins the title from Paige tonight.”

Bryden: “As long as someone ends the reign of that blonde midget, I will be happy woman.”

Silver: “I suppose there's a first time for everything.”

<div style="border: solid 5px #C5B358;">

Killer B’s (Emma Bitch, Jessica Bunny and Tracy Brendon) defeat Katherine Goodlooks, Missy Masterson and Stephanie Hazel – Match Rating: C+

Led by Emma Bitch, the Killer B’s fight against the former tag team partners each member has recently betrayed. For the faces, Goodlooks is the clear standout as management appears to moving forward with elevating Katherine to the main event scene. Goodlooks even appears to have Emma beaten when Thea Davis appears from underneath the ring.

http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg

Thea has spent the last month causing havoc for Katherine for reasons unknown, and the presence of her stalker clearly distracts Goodlooks. Emma takes advantage and hits the Payback Slam for the victory.

</div>

As Killer B’s celebrate, an enraged Katherine gets to her feet and immediately sets off after a fleeing Thea. The camera quickly loses sight of the two women as they disappear backstage.

Silver: “What exactly does Davis have against Goodlooks?!”

Bryden: “Thea has always had a good head on her shoulders.”

<div style="border: solid 5px #C5B358;">

http://i.imgur.com/MtdtQD8.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dYTS9u8.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dVfraq7.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Sn1eoo3.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/lKtiHxc.jpg

Devil’s Dragon (Devil’s Daughter and Gorgon) defeat Working Girls (“Old School” Tamara McFly and Sally Anne Christianson) – Match Rating: C+

Tamara and Sally do their best to stand up to their opponents, but Gorgon’s power and Double D’s willingness to cheat prove too much to overcome. After Devil’s Daughter sneaks to the other side of the ring and pulls Tamara down from the apron, Gorgon hits the Hydra Bomb on Sally for the win.

</div>

Silver: “Well that makes Foreign Exchange two for two tonight. This certainly bodes well for Alicia’s title chances in the main event.”

Bryden: “There is strength in numbers Silver. If you were smarter, you would have learned that by now.”

Gorgon and Devil’s Daughter are celebrating their victory when Tamara comes into the ring to help Sally to her feet. After pointing and laughing at their defeated opponents, Devil’s Dragon attacks Working Girls and throws the tag team to the floor. Double D pulls out a table from under the ring and quickly sets it up. After laying Sally on the wooden plank, Gorgon powerbombs Tamara through the table and her tag team partner.

Silver: “Despicable, just despicable.”

Bryden: “Was that table your friend or something?”

After Sally and Tamara have been helped to the back, Julie Brown’s
rings throughout the arena as a group of blonde dancers in bikinis appear on the stage. The dancers perform a bouncy routine on the sand as the crowd cheers in approval.

http://i.imgur.com/UJ7Az79.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/yVgCLHc.jpg

Yellow fireworks go off around the large video screen and the music switches to No Doubt’s
. Suzanne Brazzle and Zoe Ammis walk out from backstage and the crowd begins to boo. The dancers on the stage march down the ramp with the tag team of Blonde Ambition as more yellow fireworks boom high above the ring.

Once in the ring, Suzanne and Zoe stand surrounded by their blonde army, holding up their BSC Girl Power tag team titles to more boos from the audience.

<div style="border: solid 5px #C5B358;">

Blonde Ambition defeat Doll Parts (Maria Guest and Simony Sentinel) in a Modern Cage Match to retain the BSC Girl Power Tag Team Titles – Match Rating: C

After losing their tag titles last month at Sizzle on the Strip, Maria and Simony get their rematch against Blonde Ambition. Zoe and Suzanne are able to use their experience to control the action, but Doll Parts mount a comeback capitalizing on their youthful exuberance as the driving force. Eventually, a miscommunication between partners causes Maria to hit Simony with a flying cross body after Zoe ducks out of the way. With their opponents down on the mat, Zoe and Suzanne walk out of the cage door to retain the titles.

Overall, Blonde Ambition carry their weight in the match, while Doll Parts disappoint, showing BSC management should perhaps reconsider the strong push Maria and Simony are receiving.

</div>

http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg

As Zoe and Suzanne celebrate their victory on the floor, Maria and Simony appear to be arguing in the cage. Suddenly, Claire Winters and Laura Flame run down the ramp and into the ring. The tag team of Fire N Ice beat down Doll Parts, showing no mercy for Maria and Simony. The martial artists land blow after blow, with Claire finishing off Simony with a spinning heel kick to the head while Laura knocks Maria out with a Flame Fire Kick (Superkick). Fire N Ice lift their arms up in victory as the crowd boos the midcarders.

Silver: “What do you suppose could cause such an unprovoked attack?!”

Bryden: “The only way to move up in this industry Silver is to drag someone else down. It looks like Fire N Ice are finally tired of being passed over.”

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

With Doll Parts disappearing backstage, the pulsating beats of
by White Zombie reverberate throughout the arena, popping the crowd. The arena alternates between light and dark in synch with the music as Kate Avatar appears on the stage, causing the cheers from the crowd to grow louder.

Silver: “Hell Cat certainly seems determined. You can’t really blame her when her career depends on winning tonight.”

Bryden: “I hope she gets her head bashed in.”

With the crowd chanting “Hell Cat,” Kate enters the ring and brings a microphone up to her mouth to begin speaking. Just then, Black Sabbath’s
plays to bring out Talia Quinzel and Raven Nightfall.

http://i.imgur.com/BRUVNQ2.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/SbGGaP3.jpg

Silver: “My goodness, Talia’s coming out to that cult leader’s music.”

Bryden: “Some say cult leader; others would say an inspiration.”

Silver: “Either way, after years of fighting, Kate and Talia finally united with Paige Croft first to counter the threat of Generations and then Foreign Exchange. But after losing to Devil’s Daughter at Sizzle on the Strip, Quinzel turned against Hell Cat, revealing on the Strip Show that she now follows the former leader of the Ladies of the Night.”

Bryden: “And now that Raven has dropped that group of losers, let’s hope she can end Kate Avatar once and for all.”

Talia and Raven join Kate in the ring. Hell Cat and Quinzel have an intense staredown as Nightfall whispers into Talia’s ear. Defiantly, Kate turns her back on the pair and climbs to the top turnbuckle holding the microphone above her head, “My name is Kate Avatar and I’m here to raise hell!”

Sara Silver: “You have to give Hell Cat points for bravery, but it looks like Raven hasn’t brought any of her usual blood baths or coffin tricks with her tonight.”

Belle Bryden: “Pity.”

Talia Quinzel defeats Hell Cat Kate Avatar in a Last Woman Standing Match - Match Rating: B+

In an intense battle that will go down as one of the best matches in BSC history, Talia and Kate wreck beautiful brutality on one another to the delight of the raucous crowd. The two wrestlers include call backs to their previous feuds along the way, including their first meeting at All in All I and the battles between Angels of Mercy and the Fallen Angels.

Referee Heather Halo eventually grows tired of Raven’s constant interference and orders Nightfall to the back. The crowd loudly cheers the odds being evened as Kate shows renewed vigor in taking the fight to Talia.

Neither woman appears able to gain the upper hand despite numerous table breaks and chair shots to the head. After using a sledgehammer on Talia, Hell Cat lays Quinzel on a wooden table in front of the entrance ramp. Kate then grabs an 18-foot ladder and sets it up in the middle of the ring. Climbing to the top of the aluminum steps, Kate prepares to jump as the audience holds its breath in anticipation.

Suddenly, Sienna DeVille runs into the ring and pushes the ladder over. Kate falls for what seems like an eternity before crashing through the announcers’ table. Sienna then helps Talia to her feet as Kate remains motionless among the wreckage of broken wood and strewn monitors. With the crowd booing vociferously, the referee has no choice but to count to ten, giving Quinzel the victory.

</div>

Silver: “I can’t believe what we have just witnessed. Kate Avatar has lost; Hell Cat must retire!”

Belle Bryden can only be heard laughing manically as Sienna walks over to Kate, who stills lays broken on the arena floor. “Remember Kate, I did this to you!” Sienna screams with a voice full of venom.

Silver: “Wow! It looks like Sienna hasn’t forgiven Kate for driving her ex-wife from BSC.”

Bryden: “Amber Allen is avenged! Generations is forever!”

Silver: “Remember what they say, hell hath no fury…”

Bryden: “I don’t care. Kate is gone! Ding dong, the witch is dead!”

After Kate is stretchered to the back and the carnage from the previous match is cleaned up, a video begins playing on the large screen above the entrance ramp. To the sounds of mission control preparing for a space shuttle launch, footage from home movies of Alicia Strong as a child sparring with her father is shown. The video then transitions to scenes of a teenage Alicia training with Sensational Ogiwara before replaying both times Strong won the BSC Queen of the Ring title.

“I come from the best, I trained with the best, and that makes me the best. I am Alicia Strong and I am always Plan A!”

The voiceover and the video end before
begins playing. Dressed in a golden feathered robe, Alicia walks out onto the stage with the all the other members of Foreign Exchange close behind her. The crowd boos the stable mercilessly, which only serves to make Alicia smile wider.

The lights in the arena go out and the techno beat of
pumps through the sound system. A spotlight then shines up to the rafters, revealing “Hit Girl” Paige Croft perched high above the crowd. The audience cheers as Croft points to the BSC Queen of the Ring title around her waist. Pumping her fist the whole way, Paige ziplines down to the ring and takes off the safety jacket once she lands.

Silver: “Now that’s an entrance!”

Bryden: “I’ve seen better.”

“Hit Girl” Paige Croft defeats “Plan A” Alicia Strong to retain the BSC Queen of the Ring title – Match Rating: B-

A matchup nearly a year in the making, as Alicia and Paige were penciled in to headline All In IV before Strong decided she needed an indefinite sabbatical from wrestling in September 2014. Returning in May 2015, Alicia was revealed as the leader of Foreign Exchange and immediately set her sights on winning the Queen of the Ring title from Paige.

Paige and Alicia lock up in their first ever one-on-one matchup. The crowd buzzes with each move, but the two wrestlers end up having a difficult time matching the intensity of the previous match.

Each time Paige appears to be gaining some momentum, a member of Foreign Exchange creates a distraction that Alicia quickly exploits. At one point, Alicia fakes an injury to divert the attention of the referee, allowing Fuyuko to sneak into the ring and hit the Higa Green Driver on Paige. The fans rain down their disapproval as Higa slips back to the floor and Alicia goes for the pin. 1 - 2 - but Paige kicks out, popping the crowd.

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

Those cheers grow louder as Kate Avatar, wearing a neck brace, runs down the ramp and starts brawling with Foreign Exchange. Hell Cat quickly takes out Devil's Daughter with a stiff right hand. Gorgon charges at Kate, but Hell Cat flips the large woman over with a body slam onto the arena floor. A faceoff with Fuyuko is next, but Kate gains the upper hand and hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Higa.

Alicia screams at Kate from the ring and turns around to eat a dropkick from Paige. Strong bounces off the ropes and Croft grabs her around the waist for the Dragon Suplex (Nothern Lights Suplex). With the crowd cheering on in ectasy, Paige gets the pin.

</div>

Silver: “And STILL Queen of the Ring, Hit Girl Paige Croft!”

Bryden: “Shut up Silver.”

As the crowd cheers wildly, Kate takes the Queen of the Ring title from the referee and presents the belt to Paige. The two women embrace before Kate holds up Paige’s arm and encourages the fans to cheer louder. The audience obliges Kate’s request as tears stream down Hell Cat’s face. Kate waves goodbye and blows kisses to the audience, who won’t find out until tomorrow morning that this is the last they will ever see of Babes of Sin City.

Overall Show Rating: B

Note: Big thanks to Jaded for selecting the Last Night of BSC as the reward for the first prediction contest. It was a fun trip down memory lane for me, so I hope you enjoyed it too.

The fiery red-head does not acknowledge the pop from the crowd and is all business as she walks down the ramp. Once in the ring, Flame stares down DiMarco and easily intimidates Natalie.<p> </p><p>

It does not take long for the crowd to turn on Laura, as Flame dissects the sloppy DiMarco with precise kicks and chops, taunting Natalie at every turn. After toying with her opponent for seven minutes, Laura finally hits the Flame Fire Kick (Superkick) to get the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

A face-off between two odd pairings, in which Ursula and Velvet work well as team but Gloria and Sandra show zero chemistry together. With the action being even for most of the match, Gloria eventually gets the upper hand and places Ursula in the Glorious Full Nelson. With Saez fading, Shine takes out Velvet, leaving the Mayan Mauler with no option but to tap out.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd cheers loudly as Simony and Maria appear on the stage. The tag team takes a moment to soak in the applause before heading to the ring. A casino staffer hands both wrestlers a microphone and Simony is the first to speak.</p><p> </p><p>

"I may be small, but I am not weak. I may not be strong, but I am not meek. If there is one thing you need to know about me, it is that I will not back down from a fight!" </p><p> </p><p>

The crowd roars its approval of Simony's passion before Sentinel continues, "Kate Avatar, if you think you can intimidate me with your goon, then you don't know Doll Parts. As long as I have my best friend by my side, I know there is no obstacle that we can't overcome; that there is nothing we should fear!”</p><p> </p><p>

Maria holds up her microphone to talk as the fans chant for Sentinel, "Me and Simony have been together through the good times and the bad. I remember when we wrestled our first match together, how nervous we both were." Simony laughs slightly and nods her head in the background. "I remember winning the tag titles together, I remember losing those same titles...together. Tonight? In a steel cage against Kate and Deborah? Pssh, that's nothing, because no matter what happens, we'll still be fighting, together."</p><p> </p><p>

Guest lets the microphone drop to her side as Simony joins her in firing up the crowd even further before heading backstage. </p><p>

Match #1: Ariel Breaks vs Claire Winters</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FOATvSe.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

With the crowd already hot from the opening segment, it does not take long for Ariel and Claire to get the fans buzzing as the two wrestlers lay into one another. While both women do their best to steal the show, Claire delivers a stand-out performance by connecting with hard-hitting blows while also perfectly selling each of Ariel’s counters.</p><p> </p><p>

Ten minutes into the match, Ariel hits Breakerfall on Claire, but accidently knocks over the referee in the process. Breaks covers Winters, but with no one there to count the pin, Ariel can only get back up in frustration. </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

It is at that moment that Laura Flame runs down the ramp and slides into the ring. Before Ariel can react, Laura nails Breaks with the Flame Fire Kick. Now outside the ring, Flame yells encouragement to her long-time tag team partner and Claire responds by crawling over to the knocked-out Ariel. With Winters arm draped over Breaks, the recovered referee slowly counts 1 – 2 – 3 for the pin.</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Winner via Pinfall: Claire Winters</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Laura reenters the ring and lifts Claire arm up in triumph. The reunited tag team of Fire N Ice proceed to add insult to injury by attacking Ariel, who has just gotten back to her feet. Flame holds up Breaks and Claire measures her victim for a spinning heel kick.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Before Winters can strike, Amy Galaxy once again comes to the rescue, but just like last month, the crowd does not appear to really care. Galaxy manages to fight off Claire while Ariel wiggles free from Laura’s grasp and sends Flame over the top rope. Fire N Ice regroup on the arena floor, loudly informing Amy and Ariel that they are not through with them yet before retreating up the ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

Hell Cat, with a microphone already in hand, walks ahead of Young as the duo make their way down the ramp.<p> </p><p>

“Look at all of you, what a bunch of whiners! We get in one little fight outside the ring and now we have to have a match inside a cage for <em>your </em>safety?” Kate makes sure to point her finger at several members of the audience after stepping through the ropes, "Pathetic."</p><p> </p><p>

A man in the front row tells Kate where she can stick it, which immediately draws the attention of Hell Cat, “Yeah, you're a tough guy, yelling at me from your seat. I bet we'd see how tough you really are if you got in this ring with Deborah Young here."</p><p> </p><p>

“I serve only one…” Deborah intones, staring at the offender in the front row.</p><p> </p><p>

With the targeted fan now looking down at the arena floor, Kate climbs to the top turnbuckle and holds the microphone above her head, “My name is Kate Avatar, and you can all go to hell!”</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Deborah Young and Kate Avatar vs Doll Parts</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

After the members of Doll Parts join Bad Sisters Club in the ring, the cage is lowered and the referee calls for the bell. As Kate lands her first punch to Simony’s head, she hopes that no one sees the “Property of BSC” sticker on the bottom of the steel structure.</p><p> </p><p>

The four wrestlers battle back and forth for nearly twenty minutes, taking every opportunity to use the cage as a weapon. Simony and Maria have the crowd firmly on their side as they fight against Bad Sisters Club, but Kate and Deborah stop Doll Parts from gaining momentum through brutal power moves.</p><p> </p><p>

With Maria and Deborah brawling on one side of the ring, Kate and Simony climb up the cage in the opposite corner. Both wrestlers reach the top of the steel structure at the same time, but instead of either one making a move towards the floor, they stand up and start trading punches. As the fans hold their collective breath, Sentinel connects with a forearm to Hell Cat’s head. With Kate reeling, Simony takes the opportunity to throw her opponent to the mat, causing Hell Cat to land with a loud thud after falling nearly ten feet.</p><p> </p><p>

Simony looks down at the arena floor, knowing that all she has to do is climb down to get the victory. Sentinel then looks at Kate’s prone body in the ring, and the crowd pops, chatting “Jump! Jump!” The Violent Violet sells internal struggle before signaling for the Sentinel Strike. The audience roars as Simony tumbles through the air and lands on Kate.</p><p> </p><p>

The acrobatic endeavor takes as much out of Sentinel as it does Kate, and after some initial writhing, both wrestlers now lay motionless on the mat. After bashing Deborah’s head into the cage, Maria takes stock of the situation and makes a beeline for the opposite corner. Jumping up to the top rope, Guest is halfway up the cage before Young catches up with her. </p><p> </p><p>

Instead of throwing Maria down to mat right away, Deborah slips in between Guest and the steel structure. As Maria rains down a hail of desperation punches, Young grabs Guest around the waist with both hands and climbs to the top rope. Maria continues to struggle, but Deborah's grip is too firm and Young jumps, making the whole ring shake as she connects with the Devastator. Young's face remains expressionless as the referee counts to three for the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winners via Pinfall: Deborah Young and Kate Avatar</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Kate manages to get to her feet as the referee helps both members of Doll Parts out of the cage. Hell Cat clutches her ribs as she limps over to Deborah with a wide smile on her face. Kate taunts the booing crowd as she points approvingly at Deborah in acknowledgment of Young's feat of strength.</p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly, the lights go out in the arena. In the darkness, all that can be heard is a splash and then a piercing scream.</p><p> </p><p>

The lights come back on to reveal Kate drenched in a dark red liquid.</p><p> </p><p>

Through the arena’s sound system, a distorted female voice proclaims, “Her blood is on your hands, Hell Cat.”</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Chapter 10 Interlude: Shifting Sands</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The iPhone on Kate Avatar’s desk vibrates and Hell Cat picks up the device, “Looks like QAW just signed Nadia Snow and Katherine Goodlooks.”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

“Wow, first J-Ro, now Nadia and Goodlooks. They must be rolling in the money down there,” Amy Galaxy sits across from Kate in the small office at Piper Casino, eating her usual pre-match meal of an apple and a Red Bull.</p><p> </p><p>

“Probably…” Kate can’t help but think of DPW’s own finances. After not holding an event in November, the company’s bank balance is back above $5,000, but that is before shelling out nearly $4,000 to cover the cost of tonight’s show. “It’s smart though. It’s what BSC did. Start out with your own group of homegrown, a.k.a. cheap, talent. Use that talent to create a unique style, building up a loyal fan base. And then, once your big enough, start bringing in well-known names to not only pull in casual fans but legitimize your own workers.”</p><p> </p><p>

Amy takes another bite from her apple before chugging down some more of her energy drink, “Sounds like they have a plan.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Yeah…or they’re just winging it like we are,” Kate sighs as she looks up at the various booking plans hanging from the wall, each one crossed out with by big black ‘X.’</p><p> </p><p>

After an uncomfortable moment of silence, Amy coughs before speaking, “Have you been able to get in touch with Amber?”</p><p> </p><p>

“Yeah, she finally returned my phone calls. She’s still pretty torn up about getting released by NOTBPW in September. She said she’s going to take a year off from wrestling before deciding what she wants to do next. Looks like no Amber Allen for us, at least for now,” Kate sighs again as she puts her phone back on her desk.</p><p> </p><p>

“Too bad.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Well, she says we are too small for her anyway; that working for DPW would be too much of a step backwards. I guess I can see what she means,” Kate looks around the small room again as flashbacks of BSC’s penthouse office run through her head. “Man, if we could just get her…BSC was built on our feuds. That’s how we got Jaime, then J-Ro and Alicia.”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/NcYZPXH.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Kate is still deep in thought when Simony comes bursting through the door, a look of panic on the Violent Violet’s face, “Hell Cat, is it true?!”</p><p> </p><p>

Kate stands up and hurries over to Sentinel, “Simony, what’s wrong?”</p><p> </p><p>

“The girls, in the locker room…they’re saying tonight’s show is cancelled, that DPW is going out of business,” Simony appears near tears as she clutches the Queen of the Ring title slung over her shoulder.</p><p> </p><p>

“That’s ridiculous. We might not be…”</p><p> </p><p>

“I mean, I can’t go through this again. When BSC closed…I don’t know where I would go. Catherine Quine is only keeping me around to embarrass me.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Simony, we’re not going out of business and tonight’s show is definitely still on. Where did you hear this from?” Kate puts her hands on Sentinel’s shoulders and looks directly into the champion’s eyes.</p><p> </p><p>

“Well, I’m pretty sure Deborah was the first one…”</p><p> </p><p>

Without letting Simony finish, Kate sprints out of the office and heads down the hallway, “Deborah, can I talk to you?” Kate is barely able to keep her composure as she peeks her head into the locker room.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Young joins her boss in the hallway and in her baritone voice asks, “What is it?”</p><p> </p><p>

“You know damn well why I'm here!” Kate tries to keep her voice low enough so that she can not be heard through the locker room door, but fails. </p><p> </p><p>

Deborah rolls her eyes in response, “What a bunch of snitches.” Kate stares at Young and Hell Cat’s face starts to turn red, “Come on, I was just trying to have some fun. They’re running around like chickens with their heads cut off in there,” Deborah smirks as she motions at the door behind her.</p><p> </p><p>

“You think this is funny?! You didn’t have to go through what they did when BSC closed. You bailed when the going got tough. Just business, remember?” Kate pokes her finger into Young’s chest for emphasis.</p><p> </p><p>

Deborah’s stance stiffens, “I remember being right.”</p><p> </p><p>

Kate tries to calm herself with a deep breath, but feels her fists clenching, “I swear, I feel like punching you in the face sometimes.”</p><p> </p><p>

Deborah’s balls up her fists and walks a step closer to Kate, “I’d like to see you try.”</p><p> </p><p>

Young takes another step toward her boss and Kate flinches, “This is your last warning, okay? Don’t do anything like that again…or else.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Whatever,” Deborah rolls her eyes again and heads back into the locker room. Kate follows close behind, already trying to figure out how she is going to smooth this over with everyone else.</p><p> </p><p>

“You’re more trouble than your worth, Debbie,” Kate mutters under her breath as the members of the roster instantly swarm over Hell Cat in search of answers.</p>

Pre-Show Dark Match: Glorious Gloria vs Ursula Saez

http://i.imgur.com/piZUmbD.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/x5SF8WV.jpg

Despite being off her game, Saez puts in another good performance while Gloria is able to make in through the ten-minute match without getting winded. The action is split evenly, with Gloria relying on power moves while the Mayan Mauler lives up to her name by brawling back each time she seems to be on the verge of losing.

Just like in their previous encounter, Gloria tries finish Ursula off with the Glorious Full Nelson. Saez is ready this time, however, and uses a judo flip on the former bodybuilder. Ursula then picks Gloria up for the Saez Splitter (leaping side suplex) and gets the pin.

Winner via Pinfall: Ursula Saez

Pre-Show Dark Match: Sandra Shine vs Velvet Suarez

Another even match, but at a much faster pace than the preceding contest. While Sandra has most of the crowd behind her, a vocal minority cheer for Velvet as the purple-clad luchadora flies around the ring. The finish comes when Sandra goes for the Rise and Shine hurricanrana, but Suarez throws the small blonde into the turnbuckle instead. With Sandra down on the mat, Velvet goes to the top rope and hits the Purple Haze Moonsault for the win.

plays to bring out Kate and Deborah to a hostile reception. Hell Cat appears paranoid as she looks around the theater as if expecting to be hit by another bloodbath at any moment. Hell Cat and Young walk by the ladders that have been set up around the ring as a teaser for tonight’s main event. The duo passes through the ropes and a casino staffer hands Kate a microphone.

“Maria and Simony, I don’t know how you did it, but one of you is responsible for what happened to me at Ashes in the Fall. If you think I am going to be intimidated by that worn out trick,” Kate jumps as if scared by a loud noise before continuing, “you are going to learn that you should never mess with Kate Avatar!”

Simony already has a microphone in her hand as she appears on the stage with Maria. The crowd greets the tag team’s appearance with loud cheers, but quiets down to allow Sentinel to speak, “Kate, I don’t know why you think either one of us had something to do with what happened to you after our cage match. Neither of us went to Hogwarts and we can’t produce blood out of thin air.”

Doll Parts finish walking down the ramp and stop in front of the ring, “What I do know is that you’ve booked all four of us in a ladder match tonight for this title.” Simony pats the Queen of the Ring belt around her waist to the customary cheer from the crowd before stepping through the ropes. “I bet you think you are a regular Lord Voldemort, that you’ll be able to use your Nagini to become champion again. But maybe you should think about who else was in that ring with you when you got covered in blood.”

Sentinel gestures towards Deborah to make the implication obvious. Both members of Bad Sisters Club move aggressively towards Simony, but Kate looks out of the side of her eye at Young. Suddenly, Maria enters the ring and blindsides Young with one of the ladders from the theater floor. Simony hesitates at first, but then joins her tag team partner in using the folded aluminum to push Kate over the top rope. Doll Parts spin around and use the ladder to hit Young again, this time in the head. Deborah retreats out of the ring and joins a cursing Hell Cat on the floor. Maria and Simony dig in just in case Bad Sisters Club want to keep fighting, but Kate signals to Young to save her energy for later before the duo stumble up the ramp and to the back.

While the scrum has gotten the show off to a hot start, some of the fans appear to have been turned off by Maria and Simony being the aggressors in the fight. Despite this, Doll Parts still leave the ring to loud cheers before heading backstage.

Match #1: Amy Galaxy vs Laura Flame

http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg

With Claire in Laura’s corner, Amy is outnumbered as Ariel is nowhere to be found. Flame proceeds to put on an impressive performance, outclassing the veteran Galaxy at every turn. Amy manages to hang on, using her anger towards Fire N Ice to fuel her offense, and the heated action gets the crowd hotter.

Ten minutes into the match, Amy hooks Laura’s arms for the Time Warp DDT, but Claire jumps up on to the ring apron. Galaxy takes her eyes off her opponent to point out the potential interference to the referee, but that split second is enough for Laura to push Amy away and connect with the Flame Fire Kick. Claire drops back down to the floor with a wide smile on her face as Flame covers Galaxy for the pin.

Winner via Pinfall: Laura Flame

Match Rating: E+

Simply winning the match is not enough of a victory for Laura, as Flame looks to humiliate Amy as well. The fiery redhead grabs the neck of Galaxy’s silver bodysuit and begins pulling. The Girl from the 22nd Century flops around the ring trying to keep her clothes from being torn off, but Laura digs her fingers in, and with one good tug, strips Amy.

Laura holds up the silver spandex as a trophy while Galaxy runs out of the ring, the embarrassment clear on her face. To the whistles and catcalls of some of the male members of the audience, Amy sprints up the ramp, covering as much of herself with her hands as she can.

Match #2: Ariel Breaks vs Claire Winters

http://i.imgur.com/FOATvSe.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg

Laura and Claire remain in the ring as Ariel comes out to Cherub Rock. Breaks is all business as she walks down the ramp, and that attitude carries over into the match as she connects with an aggressive set of moves on Claire in the early going. Claire fights back through her use of chops and kicks, making the crowd buzz as the two wrestlers try to steal the show.

Over the course of the action, Claire clearly stands out while Ariel has trouble getting the fans behind her. The crowd does pop when Ariel hits Breakerfall on Winters, but Laura enters the ring before Breaks can go for the pin. With the referee watching, Flame does not hit Ariel. Instead, the redhead taunts Breaks as Claire lays motionless on the mat.

http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg

Before Ariel can turn her attention back to Winters, Amy Galaxy runs down the ramp wearing a silver top and shorts. Once in the ring, Amy goes after Laura but knocks over the referee in the process. While Flame and Galaxy brawl, Ariel is hit from behind by a recovered Claire. On the other side of the ring, Laura gets the upper hand on Amy and throws Galaxy over the top rope.

Match descended into chaos at the 9:45 mark

Match Rating: E+

Outnumbered two-to-one, Ariel puts on a valiant fight against Fire N Ice. Claire goes for a spinning heel kick, but Breaks ducks and counters with a neckbreaker. Breaks is about to face-off against Laura when Amy reenters the ring with a steel chair in hand. Galaxy swings the chair wildly at Flame, but Laura is able to dodge the blow and Amy inadvertently smashes Ariel in the head instead.

Claire and Laura roll to the floor and stand up with wide smiles on their faces. In the ring, Amy bends over to check on Ariel, clearly selling remorse for accidently hitting Breaks.

Once the chaos of the previous match has been cleared out, Hole’s

plays again to bring out Maria and Simony for the main event. Simony lifts the Queen of the Ring title high above her head to the fans’ approval.

While both women hold microphones, Guest is the first one to speak this time, “Kate and Deborah, you just experienced what lies in store for you in our match tonight. You may think that because I’m some blonde, I must be stupid; that I can’t see what you trying to do by putting me and Simony against each other in this match. But I know what your plan is; I know you are trying to drive a wedge between us because divided we fall.”

Simony holds up her microphone as she enters the ring with Maria, “But that won’t happen because no title can come between us!”

Maria nods at her tag team partner before both women go to opposite corners of the ring to fire up the crowd further.

The first strains of

play throughout the theater and Kate walks out slowly from backstage. Deborah, with an angry expression on her face, follows only a few steps behind.

“Well well well, the little girls think they have it all figured out." Kate pauses for the boos from the crowd as she makes her way to the bottom of the entrance ramp, "I urge you to listen to me, Doll Parts, instead of the morons out her. When you’ve been in this business as long as I have, you learn that people will sell out their own mothers to hold some gold. Maria, if you don’t think that purple headed freak won’t knock you out to keep her title, then you’re waaaaaay dumber than I thought. And Simony, if you’re half as clever as you pretend to be, you’ll make sure to keep one eye on your supposed best friend during the match. Me, I’ve got nothing to worry about, because my acolyte would break her neck to make sure I become Queen of the Ring again.”

With a smile on her face, Hell Cat turns around, signaling for Deborah to speak her familiar four words. Young says nothing, however, choosing instead to stare straight ahead at Simony and Maria.

Looking suddenly unsure of Young’s reliability, Kate clears her throat before lifting up the microphone, “My name is Kate Avatar…and you can all go to hell!”

Main Event: Deborah Young vs Kate Avatar vs Maria Guest vs Simony Sentinel © - Ladder Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title

http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg VS http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg

Before the bell rings, Simony gives a quick kiss to the Queen of the Ring title before handing the belt over to the referee. Gregory Chapman loops the title around a hook that is then hoisted high above the ring and all four women look up at the promotion’s top prize.

The action starts with the two teams brawling, staying strictly along their lines of allegiance. In fact, Deborah does not even seem interested in going for the title, instead focusing her rage into delivering as much punishment to Simony and Maria as possible.

Kate is the first to head out to the theater floor and slides a ladder into the ring. Before she can get can get back up on the ring apron, Simony flips over the top rope and lands on Hell Cat to the delight of the crowd. In the ring, Deborah picks up the ladder and proceeds to smash the aluminum into Maria’s face as a small measure of revenge.

The four wrestlers continue to battle for another twenty minutes. With the ladder now set up directly underneath the Queen of the Ring title, Kate and Simony make repeated attempts to grab the belt. Each time one of them nears the top of the steps, they are quickly pulled down by the opposition.

Sentinel comes the closest to ending the match, perched atop the ladder, the title just outside the reach of her outstretched fingers. With Kate occupied in a fight with Maria, Deborah is able to climb the steps fast enough to stop Simony with a quick punch. Sentinel falls back down to the mat, but before Young can even think about becoming Queen of the Ring, Maria sends Kate over the top rope and then pushes the ladder over. Deborah’s large frame crashes to the floor, leaving the 245-pound wrestler in a motionless heap.

Maria sets the ladder back upright and takes stock of the situation. With Deborah and Kate outside the ring, and Simony down on the mat, Guest has the perfect opportunity to steal a win. The crowd begins to realize what is happening and starts to murmur as Maria slowly climbs the first couple of steps.

Simony gets to her feet with Guest halfway up the ladder and pulls the blonde back down to the mat.

“What are you doing?!” Sentinel yells face-to-face with her tag team partner.

Before Maria can answer, Kate reenters the ring and hits Guest across the back with a steel chair. Sentinel tries to duck, but Hell Cat is able to connect with a shot to the Violent Violet’s head. Kate throws the chair down to the mat and holds her arms in the air with a smile of self-satisfaction across her face.

As the crowd chants “No!” Hell Cat begins her journey up the ladder. Just when it looks like Kate will be able to grab the title unopposed, Simony recovers and sprints up the aluminum steps. With both women at the top of the ladder, Sentinel and Hell Cat battle back and forth as the crowd hangs on every blow. After each punch, each wrestler teases falling down to the mat, only to barely hang on to the ladder at the last second.

Sentinel finally gets the edge with a sharp jab. With her opponent reeling, Simony folllows up with a forearm to Hell Cat's head that causes Kate to fall from her perch. The move comes slightly before Kate expected it, and Hell Cat lands awkwardly on her wrist as she hits the mat. Now alone at the top of the ladder, Simony quickly shakes off her look of concern before reaching up and unhooking the Queen of the Ring belt for the win.

Winner and Still DPW Queen of the Ring: Simony Sentinel

Match Rating: D+

After climbing back down the ladder, Simony holds up the title to approving roar the crowd. At the same time, Kate rolls out of the ring, clutching her wrist in pain. Maria gets to her feet and looks sullen for a second before going over to her tag team partner. Guest pats Sentinel on the back in congratulations for her victory, but in that moment, Deborah reenters the ring and charges full steam into Doll Parts.

Simony is the first to feel the full wrath of Young, as Deborah grabs Sentinel and viciously powerbombs the Violent Violet to the mat. With Simony down and out, Young turns her attention to Maria. At first, Guest looks ready for a fight, but the first stiff punch from Deborah quickly changes that. Maria tries to run out of the ring, but Young grabs the blonde’s hair and clubs her across the back.

Screaming out noises that can only be described as primal, Deborah proceeds to stomp Maria’s body over and over again from head to toe. With a demented look on her face, Young picks up one of the chairs strewn about the ring. Deborah opens up the steel just enough to slide Guest’s left arm in between the hinge. With the fans shouting out in protest, Deborah lifts her right leg up as high as it will go before slamming her foot down with full force on the steel chair. Maria writhes in pain as she clutches her arm while Deborah stands triumphant over the scene of devastation she has just wrought.

From the apron, Kate stares into the ring, a look of horror and regret in her eyes.

January 2017 Card and Prediction Contest Update

Mvargus has a good point re a 4-way being a good opportunity to hand over the belt, but I'll give Simony a lilttle while longer with the title.

Yeah, the original plan when it was decided that Tamara would win the belt at the June show was for Kate to win it back around this time. But that was before switching to having shows every six weeks instead of four, and Simony's done much better with the belt than anticipated.

Predictions, predictions. :p

Amy Galaxy vs Laura Flame - Laura has a ton of potential while Amy is mostly jobber bait at her age and skill level.

Ariel Breaks vs Claire Winters - Honestly, I think Ariel is the better wrestler for you.

:D

Laura's definitely impressed so far (her perfomance at Unwanted Gifts was a D- off of a F popularity). It's ironic that in BSC, Maria and Claire were seen as the future stars from their respective tag teams, while in DPW it's Simony and Laura breaking out.

After going back through the results, I've seen how poorly Ariel's been booked since the Venus tournament (where her popularity peaked at E-) and she probably should have gotten the win against Claire in December. Of course, Kate never blames herself, only the worker. :)

Below is the card for January's event, Fire Within, the last show before All In All II.

Juliette King vs Sandra Shine

Glorious Gloria vs Natalie DiMarco

Ursula Saez vs Velvet Suarez

Amy Galaxy and Ariel Breaks vs Fire N Ice (Claire Winters and Laura Flame)

#1 Contender's Match (Title Shot at All In All II)

Deborah Young vs Maria Guest

Last Woman Standing Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring title (if Kate loses, she will not get another title shot as long as Simony is champion)

Kate Avatar vs Simony Sentinel

And the leaderboard, with December's scores included.

Leaderboard

mvargus: 4 out of 5 - 14 total points

<em>I like both possible outcomes from this match (assuming my guess that Young wins the #1 contenders match). Deborah rebelling and going for the title would be juicy. Simony winning and kicking her big rival out of contention would be huge as well and make sense, allowing a new rival to Simony to appear, avoiding the bookings to turn stale with too many repeat match ups. I can really see it going either way. </em></p>

<p>World Overview - January 2017</p><p> </p><p>

With 2016 coming to an end, it’s time to take another look at the state of Women’s wrestling around the world. The biggest news over the past six months is that QAW passed AAA as the most important Women’s promotion in the United States, adding Joanne Rodriguez and Nadia Snow to their main event scene in the process. This time period also saw NOTBPW hire Jaime Quine and Sara Maria York away from AAA while releasing Sally Anne Christianson and Amber Allen. In USPW, Gorgon left the promotion in September after growing tired of always jobbing to Alicia Strong.</p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/D8rr9Zs.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/kq95o5v.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Making her debut in DPW, Juliette cuts an imposing figure at a ripped 246-pounds, and Sandra is clearly intimidated as the two face off. King turns out to be a slower, less skilled version of Deborah Young, and Shine is able to use her speed to mostly keep her opponent at bay.</p><p> </p><p>

When King does get her hands on Sandra, the result is a series of body slams and backbreakers. With Shine down in a corner, Juliette kicks her opponent in the head over and over again. “You know, I’d boo me too,” the crowd does not seem to buy this statement of contrition, and only jeers Kate more. “In case you hadn’t noticed, I am out here by myself as a sign of good faith. I can make any match I want, but tonight, I want Simony to agree to face me in a Last Woman Standing match for the Queen of the Ring title,” some in the crowd cheer the proposed bout, which seems to brighten Kate’s mood, “And just to make it worth your while, Violet, if I lose tonight, you will never have to face me for the title again.”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Simony appears on the stage to booming cheers, “Kate, you say you are out here in good faith…and I would like believe you.” Sentinel looks around the stage and then the ring for any sign of Deborah Young, “Last month, your big Rancor broke my best friend’s arm, so you can understand when your offer only makes me think ‘It’s a trap.’” Simony does her best Admiral Ackbar impression while Kate appears to nod. </p><p> </p><p>

“I can understand why you wouldn’t believe me Simony, but Deborah’s actions at Unwanted Gifts are the reason I gave Maria a shot against her tonight. And just so Deborah won't disqualify herself right away, the winner of that match will become number one contender to your title.”</p><p> </p><p>

“I see..” Sentinel continues to sell her skepticism as she reaches the base of the ramp and checks underneath the ring, “Now maybe this is all a set-up, and maybe it isn’t, but either way, I accept your challenge because one more match between us is what these fans deserve.” The crowd loudly cheers as Simony remains standing in front of the ring, “But if this is all just some elaborate trick for you to use Deborah to steal this title back, then you’re the one that’s really going to lose tonight, Kate.”</p><p> </p><p>

Kate looks quizzically at Sentinel as the Violent Violet climbs up on the ring apron before continuing, “Because if you cheat to win, all you’d prove is that you know in your heart of hearts that you can’t beat me fair and square. You may become Queen of the Ring again, Hell Cat, but I would always be the better woman.”</p><p> </p><p>

Simony drops back down to the floor and heads up the ramp, leaving Kate alone in the ring to absorb the taunts from the riled up crowd. </p><p>

Match #1: Ursula Saez vs Velvet Suarez</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/x5SF8WV.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/YNQZbsf.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

With Ursula and Velvet having faced off against each other numerous times on the Mexican Independent circuit, the familiarity between the two wrestlers leads to a fast-paced match that gets the crowd even hotter.</p><p> </p><p>

The end comes when Velvet goes for the Purple Haze Moonsault, but Ursula rolls out of the way. Suarez manages to land on her feet, but Saez is able to duck under Velvet’s attempt at a follow-up kick. With Suarez off-balance, Ursula picks her opponent up for the Saez Splitter and connects. With the fans cheering, Ursula covers Velvet for the pin. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner via Pinfall: Ursula Saez</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: E</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As Velvet rises back to her feet, Ursula gives her opponent a slight nod. Suarez acknowledges the sign of respect and leaves the ring while Saez continues to revel in the applause from the adoring crowd. </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Without warning, Fire N Ice run down the ramp, brushing by Velvet on their way to the ring. Once through the ropes, Laura and Claire ambush Ursula, screaming that she is delaying their entrance by taking too long to celebrate her “worthless” victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Velvet takes a few more steps up the ramp, but stops to look back at the assault on Ursula. After a few more seconds of internal struggle, Suarez runs back into the ring and cleans house. Laura eats a dropkick to the face while Claire is thrown over the top rope. As the crowd chants for Velvet, Suarez helps Saez out of the ring and to the back while staring down Fire N Ice the whole way. </p><p>

After a brief discussion between the duo, Galaxy faces off against Flame to start the match.<p> </p><p>

The next ten minutes see Fire N Ice use their experience as partners to isolate Ariel or Amy anytime a member of that loose affiliation is in the ring. Breaks takes the brunt of the damage, as she gets pulled away from Galaxy’s outstretched hand any time she gets close to tagging out. In one last move of desperation, Ariel manages to hit Breakerfall on Claire, throwing Winters into Laura in the process. Ariel dives across the ring and just manages to slap Amy’s hand.</p><p> </p><p>

Galaxy takes the fight to Claire, not realizing that in the previous melee Flame tagged in to become the legal woman. A clearly frustrated Ariel screams at Amy to look out, but Galaxy is too focused on punching Winters to notice Laura sneaking up behind her. After a kick to the head, Amy appears done for as Laura covers her, but Galaxy manages to kick out of the pin at two. </p><p> </p><p>

With Flame complaining to the referee, Amy crawls to her corner and reaches her hand out to Ariel. For a moment, Breaks appears that she is going to tag in, but then shakes her head and drops down from the ring apron.</p><p> </p><p>

The fans don’t really know what to make of Ariel’s actions, responding with confusion instead of the desired boos. All that matters little to Amy as she turns around to a Flame Fire Kick from Laura, making the pin that follows a mere formality.</p><p>

While the crowd boos, Young remains on the stage and walks over to a slot machine that has been placed near the ramp. The audience is clearly impressed as Deborah bearhugs the slot machine and then lifts it off of the ground, but that is because the fans do not know that the machine has been hallowed out and is really just a frame.</p><p> </p><p>

“I serve only one…” Deborah intones as she puts the slot machine back down.</p><p>

Match #3: Deborah Young vs Maria Guest - Winner becomes #1 Contender for the DPW Queen of the Ring title</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

As the two competitors face off, Maria rubs the cast on her left arm over and over again as if it were a talisman. There is rage in Guest’s eyes for the first time, and the smug look on Deborah’s face appears to only fuel the blonde’s anger further.</p><p> </p><p>

With Kate and Simony getting ready for the main event, Deborah and Maria are left to battle each other without back-up, and the result is that both women turn in their best performances since joining DPW.</p><p> </p><p>

While Deborah is able to overpower Maria at nearly every turn, Guest has the equalizer in her cast. Using the plaster wrap as a weapon, the blonde is able to stun Young several times as the referee looks on, apparently having determined that this does not rise to the threshold of using a foreign object.</p><p> </p><p>

Maria continues to pound away on Deborah with constant shots to the head, and a small cut opens above Deborah’s right eye. The sight of her own blood only seems to make Young more vicious, as Maria is hit with stiff elbows and powerbombs.</p><p> </p><p>

Nine minutes into the match, Deborah is showing signs of weakening as Maria refuses to give up. With the crowd solidly behind her, Guest strikes Young in the head one, two, three times. As Deborah wobbles backwards, Maria goes to the top rope and leaps, connecting with a flying cross body. The two wrestlers fall to the mat, with Guest on top of Young. The referee goes down to count…</p><p> </p><p>

1…</p><p> </p><p>

2…</p><p> </p><p>

…but Deborah kicks out.</p><p> </p><p>

Maria slams her hands down on the mat, knowing how close she came to winning the match. Instead of complaining to the referee, Guest slaps the figure-four leglock onto Young. The 245-pound woman writhes in agony as the fans chant for Young to tap out. Deborah won’t give in, though, and instead is able to sit up and punch Maria in the face until the blonde is finally forced to release the hold.</p><p> </p><p>

With Young struggling to get to her feet, Guest goes back up to the top rope. She leaps for the flying cross body, but this time Deborah catches her. Maria eyes go wide as Young flips her with ease and lifts Guest up over her head. Deborah then smashes her opponent to the mat with the Devastator and the referee counts 1 – 2 – 3 for the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

The bell rings, but Deborah refuses to the let Gregory Chapman lift her arm up in victory. Instead, she walks back over to her downed opponent and repeatedly stomps on Maria’s cast. Young tries to tear the plaster from Guest’s skin, but unsuccessful in her attempt, settles for putting her full weight on Maria’s left arm. Only a warning from the referee that he will reverse the decision stops Deborah, and the 245-pound woman shifts her focus to taunting the jeering crowd. </p><p>

Maria quickly rolls out of the ring and retreats up the ramp before Deborah can inflict any more damage on her. Young does not celebrate in the ring much longer and stomps to the back with the hint of a smile on her lips.</p><p> </p><p>

Kate comes out, and despite the boos from the crowd, tries to high-five as many of the few fans that will let her. Once in the ring, Hell Cat bounces back and forth off of the ropes in an attempt to fire up the crowd further. To Kate’s dismay, her efforts are only met by more derision.<p> </p><p>

“Really, after everything I’ve given you? After all the sacrifices I’ve made…I nearly broke my wrist last month!” Kate lets out a laugh full of disbelief as the audience boos grow louder, “I am putting my ability to ever become Queen of the Ring again on the line, just to entertain you all, and this is how you repay me?!”</p><p> </p><p>

Kate shakes her head as the crowd jeers her more, “Have I really been that bad? Am I really that unforgiveable?”</p><p> </p><p>

The answer from the crowd is a resounding, “Yes!”</p><p> </p><p>

Kate’s demeanor instantly turns sour, “Fine, then. If you want a fight, I’ll give you a fight; I’ll show all of you who the better woman is! My name is Kate Avatar, and you can all go to hell!”</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event: Kate Avatar vs Simony Sentinel © – Last Woman Standing Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd is already on their feet as Kate and Simony stare each other down. It does not take long for the two wrestlers to display their usual great chemistry, and with both women flying around the ring, it becomes quickly apparent that Hell Cat and Sentinel are going all out to give the fans something to remember.</p><p> </p><p>

Weapons are soon introduced into the action. Simony lands a chairshot to Kate’s back, only to be countered with a kendo stick to the face. In the back and forth struggle, neither wrestler is able to down their opponent for the necessary ten count.</p><p> </p><p>

Hell Cat and Sentinel take their fight out of the ring, with Kate slamming Simony into the post while the Violent Violet lives up to her name by driving Avatar’s head into the floor with a DDT. With Kate down and out, Simony climbs to the top rope and thrills the people in the front row by hitting a Sentinel Strike on Hell Cat right at their feet. Even this is not enough to garner Simony a victory, as Kate gets to her feet at the count of nine.</p><p> </p><p>

After ten more minutes of waging war against one another, the crowd actually begins to cheer for both women out of respect for their performances. The only boos come when Deborah Young appears at the top of the stage and begins to make her way towards the ring. Once she reaches the base of the ramp, Deborah grabs a steel chair and climbs through the ropes.</p><p> </p><p>

Kate and Simony have been so involved in their fight that neither wrestler notices Young entering the ring. Hell Cat is the first to spot her, but Deborah already has Sentinel in her sights as she raises the chair high above her head.</p><p> </p><p>

With only a split second to make a decision, Kate instinctively rushes towards Simony and pushes Sentinel out of the way. With Young past the point of no return in her swing, Hell Cat takes the full force of the steel chair to her head and collapses in a heap on the mat.</p><p> </p><p>

Deborah drops the chair in the middle of the ring in disgust while the referee yells at her to go to the back. Young makes a motion towards the recovering Sentinel, but then climbs down to the theater floor with scowl on her face.</p><p> </p><p>

When Simony gets back on her feet, Gregory Chapman has already begun his count.</p><p> </p><p>

…3…4…5…</p><p> </p><p>

Sentinel looks at Deborah heading up the ramp and then at the steel chair.</p><p> </p><p>

…6…7…8…</p><p> </p><p>

Kate begins to stir on the mat, but the Violent Violet knows she will not be able to beat the count.</p><p> </p><p>

…9…</p><p> </p><p>

Simony runs to Kate and lifts Hell Cat to her feet. The referee looks at Sentinel like she is crazy, but still stops his count. The crowd is equally as stunned by Simony’s act of sportsmanship, especially when Sentinel gives Kate a full minute to recover her wits before continuing the bout.</p><p> </p><p>

Hell Cat does not appear to be 100% as she restarts her fight with the Violent Violet, but she still manages to get the best of the ensuing exchange. After a series of punches, Kate tries to lift Simony up for the Dark Phoenix Driver, but the agile Sentinel is able to break away from Avatar’s grasp and lands on her feet.</p><p> </p><p>

After stunning Kate with an enziguri, Simony summons the strength to pick Kate up and nail her with Dark Phoenix Driver, right into the chair left behind by Deborah Young. The crowd roars at Sentinel using Hell Cat’s own finisher against her, and the cheers only grow as the referee counts to ten to give Simony the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner via KO and Still Queen of the Ring: Simony Sentinel</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As the crowd applauds the effort of both women, Simony embraces the Queen of the Ring title that has just been handed to her by the referee. Sentinel walks over the Kate, who is now sitting up on the mat, still trying to figure out what exactly has just happened.</p><p> </p><p>

Simony extends out her hand to help Kate up, but Hell Cat can only stare at the belt slung across Sentinel’s shoulder. Instead of accepting Simony’s gesture, Kate crawls over to a corner and lifts herself up using the ropes.</p><p> </p><p>

With Sentinel still offering her hand to Hell Cat, the crowd chants, “Shake her hand! Shake her hand!” Kate, with her hands on her hips, leans towards her opponent but seems frozen in place. Simony makes one more try by thrusting her hand forward towards Kate, but after a few more seconds of deep thought, Hell Cat shakes her head and exits the ring to boos from the crowd. </p><p>

Segment Rating: D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Simony continues to celebrate her victory in the ring while Kate slowly climbs up the ramp. Once Hell Cat reaches the stage, the lights in the arena go out. When they come back on a few seconds later, Kate stands in front of a closed casket.</p><p> </p><p>

Kate approaches the coffin slowly, fully expecting that something will pop out of the wooden box at any moment. Hell Cat inches forward and extends out her hand, the crowd’s attention fully on what is transpiring on the stage.</p><p> </p><p>

Cautiously lifting the lid, Kate peers inside the coffin. Finding nothing alive inside, Hell Cat flips the top of the casket open, revealing a mannequin in a red wig, dressed identically to Kate herself.</p><p> </p><p>

A sign around the neck of the mannequin reads, “Nothing is forever…”</p><p> </p><p>

“…except Generations,” Kate whispers.</p><p>

All good. I am usually writing this dynasty on the commute to and from work, which I will cite as the reason for any bad grammar or spelling. :)

No worries on the gameplay timeframe question either. Right now, I'm at the June 2017 event. The event is fully booked, but I'm holding off on completing it as the result for one of the matches depends on who gets selected as the winner for the Venus Tournament through the prediction contest.

I had been simming six to twelve months ahead, but I will probably do one to three months going forward because I've missed out in booking some elements that would have helped tell a better story in retrospect.

I also meant to include a schedule of DPW's events for 2017 in the January update, so here it is now:

DPW 2017 Event Schedule (subject to change)

January 2107: Fire Within

March 2017: All In All II

April 2017: Red Alert

June 2017: Bitter Harvest

August 2017: Venus Tournament (Winner gets title shot at Heat Check)

September 2017: Heat Check

November 2017: Ashes in the Fall

December 2017: Unwanted Gifts

<p>Chapter 12 Interlude: Once More unto the Breach</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Kate Avatar sits stewing at her desk. The office she occupies is now not only DPW’s headquarters, but her home as well. Kate looks over at the cot in the far corner where she sleeps each night and then her various possessions that clutter the floor. With money tight and Kate not taking a paycheck from the promotion, she had decided to let her apartment lease expire at the end of February and move into the cheapest place she could think of. Hell Cat had even taken a part-time job as a waitress at a local strip club to pick up some extra money. The owner of the club had given Kate an open offer to become one of his dancers, but it hadn’t come to that, yet.</p><p> </p><p>

It is the night of the company’s most hyped event of the year, but even with the tease of a big mystery star in the main event, interest is low. Coming off of the best show in DPW’s history, Kate can’t help but be disappointed by the poor ticket sales for All in All II.</p><p> </p><p>

“What am I doing wrong?” Kate mumbles to herself. She thinks about everything she could have done differently: better advertising, changes in booking, a more exciting product.</p><p> </p><p>

At the same time, Kate knows that not all of the blame should fall on her shoulders. Hell Cat had hoped to use the success of Fire Within as a springboard towards a great year, but news from the rest of the wrestling world immediately sucked all the attention away.</p><p> </p><p>

In early February, Farrah Hesketh announced QAW would now be a regional player and her company went on a hiring spree. Big names such as Gorgon, Paige Croft, and Demelza Wade were added to an already strong roster, and the Internet buzzed at the potential match-ups. </p><p> </p><p>

The new additions to QAW did not excite everyone, but even that served to starve DPW of attention. Soon after Farrah’s press conference, Foxxy LaRue quit the promotion and jumped to AAA. LaRue followed that up by giving a string of shoot interviews on how QAW was screwing over the wrestlers that helped build the company with this wave of high-priced signings.</p><p> </p><p>

As if that weren’t bad enough, at the beginning of March, right when Kate tried to restart advertising for All In All II, former BSC road agent Larry Wood announced he would be reviving the Canadian Women’s Wrestling Federation. Again, attention was diverted away from DPW as CWWF signed Emma Bitch, Sally Anne Christianson, and Talia Quinzel as the company’s main eventers. CWWF also added several members of DPW’s roster, including Claire Winters, Laura Flame, and Deborah Young. Kate could only hope that the commitment of these women to DPW would not suffer as a result.</p><p> </p><p>

“F*ck it,” with a sigh, Kate gets up from her desk and heads to the locker room. </p><p> </p><p>

Once in the locker room, Hell Cat finds the roster in a somber mood; no one is talking and it appears some of the wrestlers have even been crying. “What is wrong with everybody?”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/NcYZPXH.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Simony approaches her boss as she dabs tears away from eyes, “Oh Kate, you didn’t hear? Heidi Brooks passed away this morning. It’s so sad.” </p><p> </p><p>

Sentinel starts to cry again while Hell Cat just looks confused, “Simony, that’s impossible. I just spoke with Heidi twenty minutes ago. She’s may be running late, but she is definitely still alive.” Sentinel appears confused by Kate’s words as Hell Cat scans the rest of the locker room, “Who told you th…” Before Kate can finish her question, her eyes fall on Deborah Young, who sits in a corner trying her hardest not to burst out laughing. “Deborah, me and you, outside, now!”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Young follows Kate out of the locker room, just as Heidi Brooks arrives. Hell Cat hears the rest of the roster shriek like they have seen a ghost as she stands in the hallway with Deborah, “You think that is funny?!”</p><p> </p><p>

Young does not look her boss in the eye and instead simply shrugs her shoulders, unable to wipe the smile from her face.</p><p> </p><p>

“God damn it Debbie, you have a title match in a couple hours and this is what you’re doing! This is almost as bad as when Alison Capone showed up drunk the night she was supposed to win the belt.”</p><p> </p><p>

Young rolls her eyes at Hell Cat, which only increases the tension between the two, “Come on Kate, I was just having a little fun. The girls in there are so sensitive, you’d think…”</p><p> </p><p>

“I don’t care what you think!” Kate paces in circles in front of Deborah, “What is your problem?! Can’t we get through one event without you causing trouble?!”</p><p> </p><p>

Trying to look contrite, Deborah bows her head before speaking again, “You don’t know what it’s like to be a big girl Kate. All my life, everyone’s been scared of me. No one ever wanted to be my friend. In high school…”</p><p> </p><p>

“Oh save me the sob story. I don’t care how over you are or how important you are to the storylines. I don’t have time for this shit,” Kate anger grows as Young scoffs at her proclamation. “This is the absolute last time, you got me?! I’m going to fine you your paycheck tonight, and just to show it’s not because I’m cheap, I’ll donate it to some old folks charity like Alzheimer’s or something.” Deborah starts to turn away from Kate, but Hell Cat forcefully grabs Young’s arm, “Tell me you understand. Tell me you get that this is your last chance.”</p><p> </p><p>

After a tense moment, Deborah sighs, “Fine, I understand.”</p><p> </p><p>

The two women reenter the locker room, where Heidi Brooks is already in the middle of her best attempt at giving a motivational speech to the roster.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/aK2XJNR.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

“To think that forty-five years can fly-by so fast. When I first started wrestling in the 70’s, it wasn’t cool to do it, especially for a woman. All my friends thought I was crazy. My family tried to convince me I’d be happier as a secretary, or better yet, someone’s wife.”</p><p> </p><p>

The women of DPW laugh as they form a circle around the 65-year-old, who stands, propped up by a cane, in the middle of the room. “But I did it anyway, even though I could have lost everything. It wasn’t always easy…actually it was never easy, but I persevered. And you want to know why? Because that’s how <em>this </em>survives.”</p><p> </p><p>

Heidi makes a broad sweeping motion with her right hand before continuing, “We are not supposed to be here. This is supposed to be a man’s game, and if you watch SWF, it is. But each one of us is a link in the chain, hopefully leading to something better. I am here because the women before me sacrificed and struggled. You are here because women like me sacrificed and struggled. And now it is your turn to sacrifice and struggle.”</p><p> </p><p>

“I am too old and too tired to do this anymore, so I pass the chain on to you. And it will be like it has always been, you will pick up that chain and will pass it on to another woman. And she will pass it on to another, and another, and another. And someday, forty-something years from now, one of you will be standing in a locker room just like this giving the same speech to a bunch of wide-eyed youngsters. That is why we do this, so there will be a tomorrow, so <em>we</em> can survive."</p>

Pre-Show Tryout Match: Maria Guest vs Kathryn McMahon</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/d8b9d8M.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

With Kate preparing for the main event, Maria Guest, sans cast, gets the job of running a tryout match for a recent graduate of the Piledriver School of Wrestling. At 5’10’’ and a muscular 205 pounds, Kathryn McMahon looks eerily similar to the recently deceased Mary Beth Chase.</p><p> </p><p>

Despite not clicking in the ring, Maria and Kathryn still put on a good match. It helps that the fans present buy into McMahon’s raging bull persona, even as she taps out to Maria’s figure-four leglock after ten minutes of action.</p><p> </p><p>

As more fans filter into the theater, Heidi Brooks is announced as being in the crowd. The 65-year-old waves to the audience from her seat in the front row by the base of the entrance ramp.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pre-Show Dark-Match: Glorious Gloria and Juliette King vs Natalie DiMarco and Sandra Shine</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The now fully settled in crowd gets to witness what appears to be a test run for potential tag teams. Juliette and Gloria control most of the action with their power, but Sandra and Natalie get opportunities to shine through their high-flying moves in what turns out to be a decent match. After ten minutes of back and forth fighting, King lifts DiMarco up for Regicide (delayed vertical suplex drop) and gets the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winners via Pinfall: Juliette King</strong></p><p>

Simony walks into the theater to a loud pop. The Queen of the Ring walks down the ramp with the title on her shoulder and a microphone already in her hand.</p><p> </p><p>

“Thank you, you all are really too much,” the roar from the fans grows louder and Simony blushes from the attention. “Tonight, I face the She-Hulk herself, but before I get to that, I want to say something about Kate Avatar.”</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd instinctively boos the mention Kate’s name, but Simony does her best to calm them down, “Kate, at Fire Within, we had a war. We both fought tooth and nail for this title, but we did so with honor. I went back and watched the match again. I saw how you could have let Deborah Young hit me with a chair. I saw how you could have let her win the match for you, but you didn’t. And because of that, Kate, you have my respect,” the fans are convinced enough by Sentinel’s words to applaud her statement.</p><p> </p><p>

“But Deborah, She-Hulk, you do not have my respect. You are a bully, and I’ve dealt with bullies all my life. No matter where I’ve been, people always think they can push me around because of my size. But no matter what they try, I always get back up. I always survive. So Deborah, if you think you are going to beat me just because you are bigger than me, then you don’t know Simony. The only way you are going to get this belt is by ripping it from my cold, dead hands.”</p><p> </p><p>

Simony takes one more long look at the Queen of the Ring title before heading out of the ring to revel in the cheers from the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Segment Rating: D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match #1: Fire N Ice vs Velvet Revolución (Ursula Saez and Velvet Suarez) for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/x5SF8WV.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/YNQZbsf.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/sZpWAMg.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/sZpWAMg.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Fire N Ice are clearly confident as they face off against the newly formed Velvet Revolución. This overconfidence costs Claire and Laura early on as Velvet and Ursula surprise their opponents with their combination of speed and power.</p><p> </p><p>

“¡Viva la Revolución!” Velvet shouts as she hits a swinging neckbreaker on Claire.</p><p> </p><p>

Winters and Flame are no pushovers, though, and the established tag team puts in another good performance fighting back to create an even, open match. With the crowd getting hotter, the action breaks down with all four women in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Velvet hits a hurricanrana on Claire that sends Winters out of the ring, while Laura nails the Flame Fire Kick on Ursula. As the legal woman, Flame covers Saez, but Suarez easily breaks up the pin. Laura gets up and tries to hit Velvet with her finisher, but Suarez ducks out of the way and hits Flame with a dropkick.</p><p> </p><p>

Claire tries to climb back in the ring, but Velvet knocks her back down from the apron. Suarez climbs to the top rope and hits a moonsault on Winters on the theater floor. Back in the ring, both Laura and Ursula stagger to their feet. Flame runs full bore at her opponent, but Ursula counters and picks up Laura for the Saez Splitter. With the crowd cheering, Ursula covers Flame 1 – 2 – 3 to win the tag titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winners via Pinfall and DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Champions: Velvet Revolución</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As Ursula and Velvet hold up the tag titles in the ring, Claire and Laura look on in anger from the theater floor. Winters signals to Flame that they should head backstage, and the fiery redhead reluctantly agrees. The fans in the front row, including Heidi Brooks, are relentless in taunting Fire N Ice. Laura stops in front of Heidi, who tells her “Nice loss.” Flame looks away for a second with a smile of disbelief on her face before turning back and socking the elderly woman in the face. With the crowd looking on in shock, Laura follows a laughing Winters up the ramp as casino staffers rush to check on the knocked out Brooks.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Segment Rating: E-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Velvet and Ursula help Heidi to the back before Amy Galaxy comes out to <em>

</em></p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/ZyhrYis509A?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Aqua - Barbie Girl (Official Music Video)"></iframe></div></div>. Amy is dressed in her new silver top and shorts, and does not waste time asking for a microphone once she is in the ring.<p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

“Ariel, at Fire Within, you walked away from me when I needed you the most. And just like all the people here, I want to know why,” Amy proclamation doesn’t elicit much of a response, and there is an awkward moment while Galaxy waits for an answer. “Ariel, if you have any guts, you’ll come out right now and face me!”</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FOATvSe.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

A few more seconds pass before <em>

The young technician stares intently at Amy as she makes her way down the ramp. After climbing through the ropes, Breaks gets face-to-face with Galaxy.<p> </p><p>

“Tell me Ariel, tell me why you did it?” Amy tries to maintain her composure as she questions Breaks, but becomes increasing frustrated by Ariel’s lack of a response, “Don’t I deserve an answer?! Don’t these fans deserve an answer?!” Breaks remains silent and Galaxy’s face starts to turn red, “After all I did for you?! After I stuck my neck out to help you?!”</p><p> </p><p>

Ariel looks away from Amy while shaking her head. Breaks turns her attention back to Galaxy, only to punch the Girl from the 22nd Century right in the face. With Amy stunned, Ariel grabs Galaxy around the waist and tosses her across the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

The action wakes up the crowd, who finally boo Ariel. Breaks does not pay any attention to the fans turning on her as she stalks a gasping Galaxy, “I never asked for your help!” Ariel picks up the microphone from the mat and slams Amy in the head with it. “You want to know why I did what I did?! Because you’re what’s wrong with Women’s wrestling! You get by with your looks and not your skill! I have more wrestling ability in my little finger than you’ve ever had!” Ariel lifts Amy back to her feet and hits Breakerfall. Galaxy rolls to the floor while Breaks heads out of the theater, yelling at the fans as she goes.</p><p> </p><p>

With fog machines shrouding the stage, Deborah Young walks out from backstage into a cloud of mist. Behind Deborah trails a casino staffer dragging a rack of mannequins, each one dressed as a member of the DPW roster. Once at the bottom of the ramp, Deborah lifts the rack up high above the ground in an impressive feat of strength before flinging it aside. Young stalks over to the wreckage and singles out the mannequin wearing a purple wig. With a single twist, Deborah decapitates the dummy and flings the head into the crowd. </p><p>

Simony appears again, wearing the Queen of the Ring title around her waist this time. Sentinel pats the belt several times while staring down Deborah from the stage. The Violent Violet then runs down the ramp, slapping the hands of the fans who scramble to touch her as she goes. Sentinel gives one look to the pile of mannequins that various staffers are busy removing from the floor and then yells at Deborah that she is not scared of her.<p> </p><p>

Simony climbs through the ropes and hands the title over to referee Gregory Chapman, who announces the terms of the match for the riled up crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match #2: Deborah Young vs Simony Sentinel © for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

The crowd chants “Simony! Simony!” over and over again as the two wrestlers lock up. Each blow from Deborah is booed while every comeback by Sentinel elicits loud cheers.</p><p> </p><p>

Over the next twelve minutes, Simony and Deborah go all out in telling their version of David vs Goliath. As Sentinel overcomes every power move, Young appears to get more and more frustrated with her inability to put her opponent away. The offense of the 245-pound woman becomes less disciplined as a result, creating openings that the Violent Violet quickly exploits.</p><p> </p><p>

With Deborah appearing to lose steam, Simony connects with UltraViolet, but Young kicks out at two. Sentinel tries to follow up with a hurricanrana, but Deborah reverses the move into a powerbomb. Both women lay on the mat recovering as the crowd buzzes.</p><p> </p><p>

The referee is at six in his count when Deborah is the first one to get to her feet. Young waits for Simony to rise, and then charges at her. Sentinel rolls out of the way and Deborah plows right into the referee. Young pays no attention to the downed Gregory Chapman and slams Simony with the Devastator. </p><p> </p><p>

With no referee to make the count, Deborah gets back to her feet and lets out a primal scream. As Young breathes heavily through her nostrils, the 245-pound woman grabs Sentinel by the arm and drags her knocked out opponent to the corner. With her back to the ring, Deborah slowly climbs to the top rope, looking to squash Sentinel with her full weight.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Before Young can leap, Maria Guest runs down the ramp to appreciative shrieks from the fans. Deborah has no time to react as Maria hits her from behind with a dropkick. Young is only meant to fall to the theater floor, but jumps instead. The 245-pound woman crashes into the front row, her face smacking into an empty steel chair with a sickening thud.</p><p> </p><p>

As casino staffers check on Deborah, Simony and the referee begin to stir on the mat. With Young still knocked out on the floor, Maria rolls out of the ring and waits for the action to start up again. Once Sentinel gets to her feet, she looks at Deborah and then Maria, selling that she understands what has just happened, but is not quite sure how she feels about it.</p><p> </p><p>

Gregory Chapman soon recovers, and begins the count for Deborah, who is starting to move again. At four, Young rises, spitting out teeth from a mouth full of blood. The right side of Deborah’s face is clearly swelling and turning purple, but that does not stop Young from climbing back into the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Deborah tries to pick up Simony for the Devastator again, but Sentinel is able to easily wriggle away from the wounded Young. Simony bounces off of the ropes and connects with UltraViolet. As the fans celebrate wildly, the Violent Violet climbs to the top turnbuckle and hits the Sentinel Strike for the pin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Winner via Pinfall and Still DPW Queen of the Ring: Simony Sentinel</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As the referee holds Simony’s arm up in victory, Maria reenters the ring to embrace her tag team partner. Guest and Sentinel hug while Simony lifts the Queen of the Ring title up to more cheers from the fans.</p><p> </p><p>

Deborah Young watches all of this from the floor as she spits out more blood. After one last long look, Young heads up the ramp with a twisted smile on her swollen face.</p><p>

A pumped up Kate Avatar walks out to her BSC theme music for the first time in DPW. Despite her babyface demeanor, the fans are still vicious in their booing of Kate, but Hell Cat is all smiles as she enters the ring and is handed a microphone.<p> </p><p>

“I know, I know, you hate me. But haven’t we had a great show so far tonight?” most in the crowd respond to this question with cheers, causing Kate’s smile to grow, “And boy do I have a treat for you in the main event. But before I get to that, there’s one thing I need to say first.”</p><p> </p><p>

Hell Cat climbs to the top turnbuckle and holds the microphone high above her head, “My name is Kate Avatar, and I’m here to raise hell!”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Segment Rating: C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Kate climbs down from the corner, exhilarated from using her traditional catchphrase again. “Alright, let’s get down to business. A lot of you are probably wondering who I could have convinced to come here tonight. Well, there’s only woman I could think of that is big enough to main event All In All against me. This woman headlined the first incarnation of this event against Alicia Strong,” the longtime BSC fans in the audience pop, knowing this could only mean one person. “In other years, she went on to face Sara Marie York, Jaime Quine, and Amber Allen,” the crowd cheers louder with the mention of each name, “and now she is here to face me.” Kate reaches out her hand towards the entrance ramp as familiar music begins to play.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>

With the fans chanting “Holy shit!” Joanne Rodriguez appears on the stage. Ignoring the pop from the fifty-four people in attendance at first, J-Ro spends a couple moments inspecting her right hand as if looking for a chipped nail. Joanne then turns to the crowd and smiles, soaking in the loud cheers.</p><p> </p><p>

As she finally heads down the ramp, J-Ro grabs a microphone from a nearby casino staffer, “Well if it isn’t Kate Avatar…Hell Cat. It’s been a long time.” J-Ro climbs through the ropes and stands across from her opponent before turning back to the crowd, “Do you all want to see a show?!” The crowd replies in the affirmative, but that isn’t enough for Joanne, “I <em>said</em>, do you all want to see a show!?!” The fans respond more forcefully this time, and Rodriguez moves her gaze back to Kate, “Alright Hell Cat, you heard them, let’s give ‘em a show.”</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main Event: Kate Avatar vs Joanne Rodriguez</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span> <strong>VS</strong> <span>http://i.imgur.com/X9pxndO.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

With the crowd already buzzing, Joanne and Kate face off for the first time in nearly four years. The fans overwhelming cheer for J-Ro, but about a dozen chant loudly for Hell Cat.</p><p> </p><p>

The two wrestlers pace the match in an attempt to create an epic encounter, and for the most part, succeed. </p><p> </p><p>

Each woman carries her own weight, and with the action being called in the ring, Hell Cat and Joanne hark back to the previous wars between J-Ro’s Angels of Mercy and Kate’s Fallen Angels. The audience cheers each time one of the wrestlers hits a move made famous by Jaime Quine, Alicia Strong, Amber Allen, or Talia Quinzel.</p><p> </p><p>

Fifteen minutes into the match, Rodriguez hits Kate with the J-Rocker (Rock Bottom). With a cocky smile on her face, J-Ro covers Hell Cat, only for Kate to kick out at two and Joanne sells frustration at the referee’s perceived slow count.</p><p> </p><p>

After a brief back and forth exchange, Kate is able to pick up J-Ro and connects with Quinzel’s Spinal Trauma (Rack Attack) to the excitement of the now evenly split crowd. Hell Cat crawls over to her opponent, but J-Ro kicks out right before the referee’s hand can hit the mat for the third time.</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd now stands as both women recover on the mat. Kate and J-Ro get back to their feet at nearly the same time, and immediately brawl all around the ring. After five more minutes of fighting, Joanne gets Kate across her shoulders and lands JDAMN (rolling Samoan drop). With a cry of “That’s it!” J-Ro covers Kate...</p><p> </p><p>

…1</p><p> </p><p>

…2</p><p> </p><p>

…but Kate kicks out!</p><p> </p><p>

Rodriguez is nearly apoplectic at not getting the pin. She double-checks with the referee before stomping on Hell Cat. Kate pulls J-Ro down to the mat and locks in Hell Cat’s Cradle as the fans jump up and down calling for Joanne to tap out.</p><p> </p><p>

Kate has the hold on tight, but Joanne refuses to submit. J-Ro slowly drags herself and Hell Cat to the ropes and grabs on for dear life. The referee forces the break and both women stand up, selling their exhaustion. Joanne makes one last desperation charge at Kate, but Hell Cat picks up her opponent and hits a thunderous Dark Phoenix Driver. With the crowd in a frenzy, Kate covers J-Ro for the win.</p><p>

</p><p><strong>

Winner via Pinfall: Kate Avatar</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match Rating: C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Both Kate and Joanne stay down on the mat for several moments as the fans remain on their feet, cheering. Kate is the first one to get up, covered in sweat and breathing heavily. The referee lifts her arm in victory as Hell Cat sells the toll the match has taken on her.</p><p> </p><p>

J-Ro sits up, her dejection at losing the match clear from her slumped shoulders. Kate walks over to her opponent and after a quick nod, helps Joanne to her feet. The two wrestlers take turns raising each other’s hands as the members of the audience clap their approval.</p><p> </p><p>

Rodriguez bows towards Hell Cat one more time before exiting the ring, leaving Kate alone to continue her celebration with the cheering crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Segment Rating: C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After applauding the fans, Kate heads to the theater floor to high-five some members of the crowd before walking up the ramp. At the top of the stage, Hell Cat is met by Deborah Young, who is backed by two women dressed in black bodysuits and wearing Honey Golightly masks.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

Kate looks at Young in confusion before Deborah opens her mouth, saying through the pain and blood of her broken jaw, “I serve only one…”</p><p> </p><p>

The 245-pound woman picks Kate up with ease and powerbombs her into the ramp. As the crowd looks on in shock, one of the masked women whispers something in Deborah’s ear. Young responds by picking up Hell Cat and powerbombing her again. With a smile on her face, Young lifts Kate up for a third time, and as the two masked women nod to each other, throws Hell Cat off the stage onto the hard theater floor below.</p><p>

This contest will run over the next four shows, ending with Heat Check in September 2017.</p><p> </p><p> The scoring this time will be a little different as well, with non-main event matches worth 1 point, and the main event of each show worth 2.</p><p> </p><p> And with that, below is the card for April's show, Red Alert.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Laura Flame vs Natalie DiMarco</p><p> "Killer" Kathy McMahon vs Sandra Shine</p><p> </p><p> <strong>For the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</strong></p><p> The Power and the Gloria (Glorious Gloria and Juliette King) vs Velvet Revolucion ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grudge Match</strong></p><p> Amy Galaxy vs Ariel Breaks</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Open Challenge for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> Simony Sentinel © vs ????</p><p> </p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p> Deborah Young vs Kate Avatar</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bonus Points: </strong></p><p> Who will answer Simony's open challenge?</p><p> Who are the two wrestlers in the Honey Golightly masks? <p>Sometimes, I latch on to the smallest detail. Here, it's Deborah Young's catchphrase at the end. I figured, Kate was the one she served, but now it seems as though it's someone else... Would love to see if there is a big bad boss in the background to be revealed! </p><p> </p><p>

Curious to see where you go with the champions belt. A rematch with Deborah in due time I guess, but then? Is she good enough to be champion, even for a short while? I guess it sets up Kate to get back in contention. Otherwise, who's good to be the next challenger? It looks a bit thin on the heel front at the moment. Is Ariel good enough?</p><p> </p><p>

I'm really not sure if these are new workers or if you've put masks on a couple of your already contracted wrestlers. I feel I'm totally played here, but I'll say it's team Fire & Ice, <strong>Flame & Winters</strong> behind the masks. Maybe. Probably not...</p>
