You're getting some good matches out of this tournament. I expect a twist or two in the final segment of the show. :)

Haha, yeah. Amy vs Kathy was the biggest surprise (just because of the chemistry bump), followed by Maria vs Ariel. Maria's time in QAW with her mentor is doing wonders for her stats, and I'd say she's developed into the most complete wrestler on the roster after Kate (something I didn't realize until going through the show results for this write-up).

This tournament ends up being a bit upside down in terms of match ratings for various reasons. I'm still figuring out crowd management for such long events, but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or if it is some kind of penalty for having wrestlers work multiple matches on a card.

Agreed. Though I will miss Amy Galaxy!

Edit: I'm your 100th reply, congrats! :D

Thanks! My how the time flies. :)

And don't worry, Amy has at least one more match in her (much like comic books, no one is really ever gone in wrestling.) :D

This change in presentation seems to work, as the crowd hangs on Flame’s every word.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“It is my destiny to win this tournament. I have been training for this moment ever since I was little. I was raised by a legend and his fury pumps through my veins. Only when I feel someone’s bones crunch under the Flame Fire Kick do I gain a little bit of peace.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura steps closer to the camera, so that the video screen is taken up completely by her face, “I </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>will </em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">become Venus Champion and no one's going to stop me, because when you step in the ring with Laura Flame, you’re going to get burned!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #6: “Killer” Kathy McMahon vs Laura Flame – Venus Tournament Semi-Final</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/d8b9d8M.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Another face-off between two heels, but with her recent string of standout performances, Laura has started to win a small vocal fan base, and this support drowns out the boos for either woman.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Flame appears more than comfortable with Kathy’s brawling style, and two wrestlers unload on each other in a contest of ‘Who can hit harder.’ The fans are into each strike, but with the event already more than two hours in with four matches still to go, the competitors wisely never take the action out of first gear. This effort to calm the crowd works, but does not take away from the great performances by both wrestlers.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kathy gains momentum as the match progresses, and seven minutes in, the fans begin to believe that the rookie actually has a chance to advance to the tournament’s final round. That all changes as McMahon makes a mistake born out of inexperience. Instead of sticking to what she does best, Kathy tries to show off by climbing to the top rope for a double axe handle. When McMahon jumps, she is met in mid-air by a Flame Fire Kick to the temple from Laura, making the pin that follows purely academic.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A video showing Simony and Maria in the locker room is played on the large screen above the stage. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Guest stands in front of a full length mirror while Sentinel tries to fire her up for her semi-final match, “You are so close; I know you can do it!" Maria nods along with each word uttered by her tag team partner as Simony continues, "Emma is nothing but a bully. You are better than her. Her knee might be hurt, but she’ll be even more dangerous now that she’s wounded. You just have to stick to your game plan and you’ll move on to the tournament final.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“And then I’ll win…and get a title shot,” Maria turns her head to look Simony in the eyes.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Yes! That’s the spirit!” Simony seems genuinely excited for her best friend as she slaps Maria on the arm in encouragement. Sentinel heads out of the locker room, and Guest follows her exit with an intense stare.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Match #7: Emma Bitch vs Maria Guest – Venus Tournament Semi-Final</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/Ej7P7y8.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Simony preparing for her title defense later in the evening, Emma appears to be at an advantage with Thea supporting her at ringside. Maria tries her best to ignore the taunts from Davis, even as she becomes increasingly more distracted as she exchanges blows with Bitch.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As match proceeds, it becomes clear that differing styles of Emma and Maria simply don’t click. This poor chemistry drags down the performances of both wrestlers, and while hardly a disaster, the contest is the most disappointing of the night.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

It does not help that Maria slows down the pace to concentrate on Emma’s right knee, wrenching the limb at unnatural angles any chance she can get. Bitch can not help but become worn down by the constant assault, and has to hop around each time she gets back to her feet. Only the presence of Thea keeps Emma in the match, as Davis helps Bitch reach the ropes while the latter is in the figure four leglock.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The action starts to pick up when the two members of Devastation fall back on their usual underhanded tactics. With Maria on the top rope preparing to strike Emma with a flying cross body, Bitch falls to the mat, signaling to the referee that she may not be able to continue because of her injured knee. As the referee turns his back on Guest to check on Emma, Thea sneaks up onto the ring apron and shoves Maria to the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Emma immediately makes a miraculous recovery and gets back to her feet, with the referee not appearing to wonder how Maria ended up on the canvas. With her legs wobbling, Emma somehow manages to lift Maria up for the Payback Slam and Guest hits the mat with a bang. Bitch covers her opponent as Thea beams from ringside…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…1</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…2</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…but Maria kicks out, popping the crowd. Emma is beside herself, selling her frustration that the referee did not count fast enough.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bitch slowly gets back to her feet and lifts Guest up again. This time, Bitch’s knee gives out and Maria has enough presence of mind to slap on the figure four leglock right in the center of the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Emma struggles for a few moments, but even with a place in the tournament final on the line, the pain in her knee is too much and she is forced to tap out.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner via Submission and Advancing to the Venus Tournament Final: Maria Guest</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: E+</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Emma heads out of the ring as the crowd chants, “You tapped out! You tapped out!” Bitch grabs a ‘Hell Cat Forever’ sign from a fan in the front row and tears the poster board in half. The celebrating Maria soon joins Emma backstage and Thea climbs into the empty ring with a microphone in her hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Excuse me, if I can have some calm for a moment,” Davis’ request is met by loud boos from the audience and some fans taunt Thea for her earlier loss, “You know, me and Emma may be out of the tournament, but that does not mean we are done for the night. I am proud to introduce your once and future Queen of the Ring, Deborah Young!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A hush falls over the crowd as they start to wonder how exactly Simony can win a match against such a powerful monster.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Young, her face expressionless, climbs into the ring to stand next to Thea. Davis has a perverse smile on her face as she gestures towards the fans, “The next match is nominally a Street Fight, but when Deborah is done with your precious champion, tonight will become known as the Las Vegas Massacre because all that is going to be left of Simony is a bloody mess. If think you think what we did to Kate Avatar was awful, pay attention, because we’re just getting started.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea leans over the top rope and points at an especially vociferous Simony Sentinel fan in the front row, “Nothing is forever, except Devastation!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sentinel does not appear at first as the stage fills with a purple-tinged fog instead.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When Simony does walk out, she is dressed in a full Thor costume, complete with winged helmet and violet cape. With the DPW Queen of the Ring title around waist, Sentinel holds a sledgehammer version of Mjolnir across her right shoulder.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Stepping past the fog, the Violent Violet stops half-way down the ramp and lifts the sledgehammer up to a roar from the audience. Not wasting another second, Simony sprints at full speed into the ring, catching Deborah and Thea off-guard.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Referee Gregory Chapman barely has time to call for the bell as Simony begins laying into Deborah with the sledgehammer. A blow to the stomach doubles over Young, but before Sentinel can hit her opponent in the head, the Violent Violet hears Davis charging at her from behind. Simony is able to side-step Thea and then cracks the sledgehammer over the English woman’s back. The force of the strike is so strong that the handle of the sledgehammer breaks and Thea is left knocked out on the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Now unarmed, Simony turns around only to come face-to-chest an enraged Deborah, the 245-pound woman’s nostrils becoming flared as her eyes go wide. Sentinel tries to level Young with a series of punches and kicks, but Deborah’s anger has turned her into an immovable object. Barely able to break free of Young’s grasp but losing her helmet in the process, Simony rolls to the theater floor to look for another weapon.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before the Violent Violet can grab a kendo stick from under the ring, Deborah catches up with her and pulls Sentinel in by her cape. Young lifts Simony into the air as if she is a rag doll and slams her down to the floor with the Devastator. Referee Gregory Chapman brings his hand down three times to give Young the pin, and the challenger stands up to let him start his ten count. Sentinel manages to get up at six and the brawl is on.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The next eight minutes are as wild a fight as the crowd has ever seen, even if not everyone in the audience is completely comfortable with the intensity on display. Neither wrestler gives the fans a chance to catch their breath as they bash each other with whatever weapons they can get their hands on. Sentinel is eventually able to grab a razor wire covered baseball bat from underneath the ring and goes to town with it on Deborah. By this time, however, Thea has recovered and joins in the fight.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Simony swings wildly as she tries to keep her two foes at bay, but a gimping Emma sneaks up behind Sentinel and smashes her into the entrance ramp with a Payback Slam. Bitch grabs the baseball bat and rakes the barbed metal across the Violent Violet’s face over and over again as the fans boo. At Thea’s and Emma’s urging, Deborah picks up Simony and slams her onto the ramp with another Devastator. The referee catches up with the action and counts to three for the pin as Deborah stands on Simony’s chest.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The trio of Devastation begin to celebrate Young’s impending title victory, even as the referee’s follow up count only reaches two.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…3…4…5…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea walks over to the timekeeper’s area and picks up the Queen of the Ring title before handing the belt to Emma.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…6…7...</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bitch presents the title to Deborah as the crowd begs for Simony to get up.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…8…9…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Somehow, before the referee reaches 10, Sentinel finds the strength to get to her feet, her face a bloody mask. “I can do this all day,” the Violent Violet quietly informs Devastation as she tries to focus her vision.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Young responds by blasting Sentinel in the head with the title belt. Deborah goes for the pin, but Emma holds her back, “F*ck that, we’re going to end this c*nt!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bitch signals for Deborah and Thea to retrieve unknown items from under the ring. Emma drags Simony to an empty area at the foot of the stage as Deborah returns with a twelve-foot ladder and Thea with a wooden table.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Davis starts folding out the legs of the table while Emma instructs Deborah to set up the ladder on the stage. Young does as she is told as Emma and Thea lay a lifeless Simony across the table. Bitch points at the top of the ladder and Deborah begins to climb, the crowd screaming "No!" with each step higher.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When Deborah reaches the last rung, the doors to the casino burst open and Kate Avatar walks through to a pop from the crowd. Kate wastes no time in running to Simony’s aid, blocking a blow from a charging Thea before dispatching Davis with a chair Hell Cat carries at her side. Emma does not have time to duck as Kate hits Bitch square in the head with the cold steel.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Young is the next one to feel Kate’s wrath, as Avatar tips over the ladder, sending Deborah crashing to the floor. Kate goes to Simony and helps the Violent Violet off of the table. Sentinel takes a few moments to gather herself before Kate points to the ladder on the stage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Stumbling as she makes her way to the top of the ramp, Sentinel sets the ladder back upright while Kate puts Deborah on the table. The Violent Violet climbs up the rungs slowly and can barely signal for the Sentinel Strike once she is perched high above the crowd. Without any further hesitation, Simony flips through the air, her cape fluterring, and lands on Young, driving both of them through the table.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As the fans chant “Holy shit!” Kate drapes Simony’s arm over Deborah so that the referee can slap the theater floor three times for the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate then helps Simony to her feet as the crowd counts along with the referee and pops when he reaches ten.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The fans remain jubilant as Kate celebrates with the still bleeding Simony on the stage. Thea is the first member of Devastation to get to her feet and limps over to Emma. Davis helps Bitch up and the pair make their way to where Deborah’s motionless body lies. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“This isn’t over Kate!” Emma snarls at Hell Cat while Thea starts clearing the wreckage and debris off of Young. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Avatar pays no attention to Bitch’s threat, holding up Simony’s arm one more time to loud cheers before the two women head backstage. Whether it is nerves from being in her first main event or fatigue from having already wrestled three times on the evening, Flame appears to forget some of her moves for the opening sequence.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before the crowd can catch on to what is happening, Maria steps up and gets the action back on track, putting in her best performance to date in the process. With all they have left in the tank, Guest and Flame proceed to go all out in telling the story of two hungry, young wrestlers who realize that winning this match is the opportunity of a lifetime.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Scratching and clawing for every inch, Maria is able to use her superior technical ability to gain the upper hand against Laura. Guest even pulls off rolling German suplexs for the first time, but Flame kicks out at two. Running on fumes, Laura brings out the flashier moves from her repertoire, flying all over the ring before flipping over Maria and hitting Guest with a discus back kick. Flame looks to finish her opponent off, but Maria closes the space between the two quickly and throws her opponent to the canvas with a belly-to-belly suplex. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With the crowd cheering, Guest goes to the top rope for the flying cross body, but Laura recovers as Maria leaps and looks to hit her with the Flame Fire Kick. Guest must have studied her opponent’s semi-final match as she is ready for this counter, ducking her head out of the way of the blow and grabbing Laura’s outstretched leg as she lands on her feet. In one swift motion, Maria takes Flame down to the mat with an ankle lock and lets out a savage scream as Laura cries out in pain.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Referee Gregory Chapman asks Laura if she wants to tap out, but Flame responds with a loud “No!” despite the majority of the fans urging her to quit. Maria continues to have the hold locked in tight, but Laura is able to crawl her way bit by bit to the ropes. Claire stands on the floor, begging Flame to reach her. With one last burst of desperation, Laura hooks her arm over the bottom rope.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The referee turns his attention to Maria, who refuses to let go of Laura’s ankle. Chapman begins his count, telling Guest that he won’t hesitate to disqualify her if she does not break the hold. While all of this is happening, Claire pulls brass knuckles out from her tights and places the foreign object in Flame’s right hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Guest finally complies with the referee’s request at the count of four, only to get smashed in the face with the brass knuckles by Laura a second later. Flame slyly tosses the weapon out of the ring without Gregory Chapman taking notice, even as the fans cry out over the blatant cheating.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The stunned Maria is out of her feet and Laura has all the time in the world to hit her opponent with the Flame Fire Kick. Loud boos are already ringing throughout the theater as Flame covers Guest…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Maria slaps the mat in frustration as the majority of the crowd jeers the result. A bandaged and disappointed Simony appears from backstage, cradling the Venus Tournament trophy in her arms as she gingerly walks down the ramp.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In the ring, Claire hugs Laura and the tag team lets the fans know that they should have never doubted them. Simony climbs through the ropes and stands next to Maria. Before Sentinel can offer any comforting words to Guest, a casino staffer hands the Violent Violet a microphone.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“You’re new Venus Champion, everyone...Laura Flame,” some in the crowd applaud Simony’s tepid announcement, but the rest boo Fire N Ice’s continued celebration.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura grabs the Venus trophy from Sentinel with a look of reflection on her face, “Wow, all I have to say is…” Laura shifts her weight and delivers a Flame Fire Kick right to Simony’s jaw, “see you at Heat Check, champ.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Maria can react, Claire nails her from the side with a spinning heel kick. Fire N Ice stand over their fallen victims with hands raised in triumph as the fans rain down more boos upon them.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<p>Prediction Contest for Heat Check</p><p> </p><p> Big thanks to Dr_Avalanche for selecting Laura as the winner for this tournament as the reward for winning the previous prediction contest. Laura was not the wrestler orginally penciled in as the winner, but she was in contention and has earned a promotion to the main event scene through her string of good perfomances since she joined DPW.</p><p> </p><p> As an added bonus, Doll Parts and Fire N Ice finally get to have the feud they would have had if BSC hadn't closed.</p><p> </p><p> With that, the card for Heat Check is below. The Power and the Gloria were again scheduled to get a shot at the tag titles, but Juliette decided to trash her rental car and try to pass the bill on to DPW before the show. That situation will be part of the post-Heat Check interlude. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Jawbreaker (Ariel Breaks and "Killer" Kathy McMahon) vs Emiko Miyoshi and Nami Genda</p><p> Glorious Gloria vs Velvet Suarez</p><p> Claire Winters vs Maria Guest</p><p> Amy Galaxy vs Thea Davis</p><p> </p><p> <strong>I Quit Open Challenge</strong></p><p> Emma Bitch vs ????</p><p> </p><p> <strong>For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> Laura Flame vs Simony Sentinel ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Casket Match</strong></p><p> Deborah Young vs Kate Avatar</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The current prediction contest wraps up with Heat Check, and Dr_Avalanche has it locked up after selecting all four semi-finalists correctly, along with both non-tournament matches. </p><p> </p><p> For the next prediction contest, I've included a link to poll below, as I'd like to see if people would rather have one month prediction contests or multi-month ones. Awesome. :)

My reasoning for picking Laura was that at the time I chose, the only member of Devastation that had actually performed in the ring was Deborah, and she wasn't eligible. Laura had performed quite well in mid card matches, so I figured she could be elevated to the main card.

As for the poll, I'm not sure what to answer. I like the reward of being able to affect the story a little bit, but it's not why I follow the diary. I would read it regardless. As long as it's not too much work, maybe one event one reward, so people aren't discouraged from participating just because they didn't join from the start?

Jawbreaker (Ariel Breaks and "Killer" Kathy McMahon) vs Emiko Miyoshi and Nami Genda

Glorious Gloria vs Velvet Suarez

Claire Winters vs Maria Guest

Amy Galaxy vs Thea Davis

I Quit Open Challenge

Emma Bitch vs ????

For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title

Laura Flame vs Simony Sentinel ©

Casket Match

Deborah Young vs Kate Avatar

It would be a big upset if Laura wins, but maybe...Simony has held the belt for quite a while now. :)

Not only because of the Doll Parts vs Fire N Ice feud, but it also has laid out the feuds for the rest of the main event and midcard in a logical way that wouldn't have happened in the original plan. So again, thanks! <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> I like having the prediction contests, as it give me a chance to see what people are thinking. Part of the reasoning for having multi-event contests was because the match-ups were a little (or very) predictable in the beginning. With more people being elevated, this will be less of an issue starting with Ashes in the Fall (hopefully).</p><p> </p><p> I'm leaning towards one-off contests, but I like giving rewards that affect the storyline. If people get invested in one character that I am overlooking, it's a chance to get a bit of the real-life crowd fueled push. The problem with giving storyline affecting rewards is that they hold up how far ahead I can play, so I am thinking about keeping these just for the big events, say winner of All In All contest gets to choose the next Venus Tournament winner. The rest would be choosing the next interlude subject or maybe a winner of a midcard match, etc.</p><p> </p><p> I going to introduce a new story device coming up, inspired by DarEatWorld's and Eisen-verse's excellent dynasties, that will help flush out BSC's history without having to do a full-flidged separate diary. Hope you enjoy. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The Fallen Angles begat Blonde Ambition which begat Foreign Exchange, and so on and so on. The most promising of these groups was Generations. Formed in May 2014, this stable was originally to have been led by Alicia Strong, but the booking team had to scramble at the last minute when Alicia informed us she was going to take a multi-month sabbatical soon and would not participate in the storyline.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> While not as popular or talented as Strong, Amber Allen was selected as the new leader of the group, taking on the role of in-her-prime veteran. Fortuitously, Ms. Allen was already in the midst of a storyline where she was becoming frustrated with her inability to recapture the Queen of the Ring title, making her turn back to heel at least not come out of the blue. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The group was filled out by Women’s wrestling legend Belle Bryden, as the past-her-prime veteran and lead spokesperson. The roles of up-and-coming stars were assigned to Deborah Young (the muscle) and Thea Davis (the showstopper).</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With that, the group was formed by Amber attacking her kayfabe wife and manager, Sienna Deville. The reaction to this was more than we could have ever hoped for, given the largely cold response the Allen-Deville engagement storyline received. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The group’s main drive was to win Amber the Queen of the Ring title from the current champion, Talia Quinzel, and the feud with the reuinted Angels of Mercy was born. After Deborah won the Athena Tournament in August 2014 and had one of the best matches in BSC history against Talia at In Heat, this storyline was red hot. But of course, Kate Avatar couldn’t let a good thing go on without involving herself. Once Kate was in the picture, the group’s aim shifted to taking over BSC, as Belle declared war against the “trash” that was BSC. Those were some of the easiest promos I’ve ever written, because I would just use old interview soundbites from Catherine Quine and Cherry Bomb.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kate being in the storyline sealed Generations’ fate, unfortunately. There was no way Kate would do another arc where she lost control of the company only to regain it after the murky resolution to the Fallen Angels versus Honey’s Angels/Angels of Mercy feud. BSC’s money issues also damaged the momentum of the group, as Deborah Young quit only to be replaced by Nadia Snow.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Nadia is of course very talented, but without Deborah acting as the enforcer, Generations no longer felt like a believable threat. In May 2015, Honey refused to renew Amber and Nadia’s contracts, so on a random episode of the Strip Show, Maria Guest and Simony Sentinel beat Allen and Snow to kill Generations with a whimper instead of a bang.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Thea, the only remaining member of the group, stayed with the company, but was lost in the crowded BSC midcard. Much like BSC itself, Generations had burned brightly for a short while only to be gone too soon, full of unfilled potential and broken dreams.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></blockquote><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p>

<p>Chapter 16 Interlude: Just Business</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>Twenty-one months earlier…</em></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What the hell is this?” Kate Avatar looks down at the envelope Deborah Young has just flung onto her large, well-organized desk, “And why do you have your bags?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I'm outta here. That’s my termination letter…or resignation letter. I don’t know, it’s something a lawyer told me I need to give you before I quit.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Quit?! You can't quit! Your part of the biggest angle on the show!” Kate rises to her feet and paces over to Young.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Kate, you know what this is about. My paycheck is late, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>again</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Come on, we have $4 million in the bank. The check probably just got lost in the mail.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Uh huh,” Deborah turns to leave, but Kate holds her back with surprising force.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Debbie, I fixed this last time. I’ll talk to Honey and get it all sorted out.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“It’s not just me this time, Kate. It’s Joanne, Amber, Nadia, Higa, Paige, Jaime, Talia, basically anyone who isn’t a BSC original or is making more than $500 a show.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate seems taken aback by this information, and puts her free hand over her mouth, "But..."</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“If I don’t get paid, I don’t wrestle. It’s that simple. I tried to get all the other girls to do a walk-out, but Rodriguez talked them out of it.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Avatar appears lost in trance as she stares straight ahead at nothing in particular, but she still has the presence of mind to grab onto Deborah’s arm again to prevent her from leaving, “I’ll put you over at All In IV.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Kate, stop acting like you’re doing me a favor when you lose to me. You’ve put me over, I’ve put you over. It’s how this business works. And right now, this is just business.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate gathers herself and looks Deborah in the eye, “Just work the TV taping tonight, and then you can go. You owe me at least that after all I've done for you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Young scoffs at Kate’s assertion, but wears her internal struggle on her face as the awkward moments of silence pass, “Fine, but I want a check for what I’m owed, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>now</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">. Not from BSC, but from you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Sure, sure. I’ll get that to you before you go on.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Good, and then I’m gone. When shit like this starts happening, a company has six to nine months left, tops. I’m just getting out before the whole thing goes down. You should think about doing the same.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Deborah leaves Kate's plush office as Hell Cat starts thinking about how she can smooth this over with the rest of the roster. Kate walks over to the intercom on her desk and pushes the button for her assistant, "Sandy, get me Honey on the phone, now!"</div><p></p>

The new tag team of Jawbreaker holds nothing back as they fight Emiko and Nami. With Ariel’s technical ability and Kathy’s hard hitting style, the two Japanese cruiserweights stand little chance against this onslaught. Kathy, in particular, puts on another star worthy performance while Ariel is able to control the pace of the match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The end comes with a Glitter Fall on Miyoshi, as Ariel lifts Emiko up for Breakerfall only to have McMahon catch their opponent and hit the small Japanese wrestler with double knees to the back.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After Kathy pins Emiko, Ariel grabs a microphone and points at the impressed crowd.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“That right there is what you can expect from now on. We are Jawbreaker and we are the best this company has to offer!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kathy is handed a mic of her own and speaks for the first time in DPW, her intensity coming through loud and clear, “I came to Las Vegas to make a name for myself. There is no one here that can beat the two of us together and it is only a matter of time until we have gold around our waists.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Pre-Show Dark Match #2: Glorious Gloria vs Velvet Suarez</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

As the two women of Jawbreaker watch from ringside, Gloria and Velvet display a surprising level of chemistry that leads to an entertaining match. Suarez’s high flying moves are countered by Gloria’s submission holds, but it is the purple-clad luchador that comes out on top.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After escaping from the Glorious Full Nelson by acrobatically using the top turnbuckle as a launching pad, Velvet climbs back up and hits the Purple Haze Moonsault for the win.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

Velvet has only a moment to celebrate her victory with Ursula before Jawbreaker invades the ring. The assault is swift and effective. Ariel takes out Saez with Breakerfall while Suarez eats double knees to the face from Kathy.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Breaks collects the strewn Deuces Wild Tag Team titles and hands one to McMahon before shouting, "These belts are ours! We deserve to be champions!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Ariel and Kathy hold up the tag belts in the middle of the ring as the crowd boos. The duo toss the titles back down to the mat before heading backstage. The fans cheer loudly as Hell Cat shows off the scars on her arms and heads for the ring with a microphone in hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I know what you’re thinking, what did it feel like to get tied to a cross with razor wire? Well let me tell you…it hurt like a mother f*cker.” Most of the audience laughs as Kate climbs through the ropes, “But that brings us to tonight. I’ve always given everything I have for all of you, but right now, I have to be a little selfish. This match I am going to have with Deborah Young isn’t about entertainment, or pops, or Youtube views. It’s about vengeance.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate circles the ring one time before staring into the camera held by Mickey’s nephew on the theater floor, “Debbie, the divisions between us run long and deep. And that’s why tonight, one of us will be leaving this theater victorious, and the other…will be leaving in a coffin.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Match #1: Claire Winters vs Maria Guest</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura is at ringside for her tag team partner’s match against Maria, while Simony, preparing for her title match later in the evening against the fiery redhead, is back in the locker room. Flame has brought along the Venus Champion trophy in an apparent attempt to taunt Guest, and constantly holds up the prize to boos from the audience.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

If Maria is distracted by Laura’s antics, she does not show it, occupied instead in taking out her aggression on Claire. Winters is no pushover, and it does not take long for the back and forth action from the two talented youngsters to bring the fans to their feet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Maria continues to unveil a growing set of moves from her arsenal, while Claire relies on her usual repertoire of strikes and submission holds. After an especially vicious spinning heel kick to the head, Guest somehow kicks out of Claire’s pin attempt at two, as Laura looks on in disbelief.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Winters follows up by locking in the Ice Breaker, causing Maria to scream out in pain. Guest is able to slowly drag herself to a corner, but when she reaches out, Flame pulls the bottom rope away. Desperate, Maria gets to her feet, Claire still hanging on to her to right arm. Guest hooks her left arm around Winters neck and falls backward, delivering an inverted Samoan Drop that nearly breaks her opponent in half.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Without any hesitation, Maria slaps on the figure four leglock, and Claire struggles as she reaches out for the pleading Flame. With fire in her eyes, Guest pulls Winters away from the ropes and into the middle of the ring, leaving the Ice Woman with no choice but to tap out. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Maria raises her arms up in victory, only to be hit from behind by Laura. Flame wastes no time in decimating her victim, and with a twisted smile, starts ripping off Guest’s clothes. The titillation causes some vocal males in the crowd to squeal for joy, but most of the fans lustily boo Laura’s actions.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Maria, with her ring gear in tatters, is able to fight back and pushes Laura away. Quickly scurrying out of the ring, Guest manages to keep most of her body covered with scraps of fabric, but the fans in front row still get a good view of the blonde’s exposed flesh.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The crowd buzzes with anticipation as Laura stares down at Simony from the ring, “You’ve got less than one hour left, champ!” Flame raises her hands into the air and Claire joins her in taunting Doll Parts as Sentinel and Maria retreat up the ramp.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A video of Velvet Revolución backstage plays on the large video screen for the crowd. Suarez and Ursula are tending to their wounds as Velvet looks into the camera.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ariel and Kathy, you think you deserve to be champions? You think by attacking us you can make a name for yourselves? Title shots have to be earned, but you two putas need to be taught a lesson!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Saez looks up from the ice pack she is holding against her knee and stares daggers into the camera, “If you attack one of us, you attack all of us. You want a title shot, Jawbreaker? You got it! At Ashes in the Fall, you’ll learn there is nothing stronger than the will of La Raza.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Velvet and Ursula put their fists in the air and shout in unison, “¡Viva la Revolución!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As Amy and Thea face-off, the crowd is clearly surprised to see Galaxy in the ring after she promised to quit at last month’s event. The Girl from the 22nd Century does appear motivated in her battle against Thea, but Davis’ athleticism proves to be Amy’s undoing.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Galaxy tries to keep up with Thea as the Englishwoman runs circles around her, but after several unblocked takedowns and strikes, Amy begins to fade. Ten minutes in, Thea doubles over Amy with a knee to the stomach and after a cry of “Off with her ‘ead,” delivers an Axe Kick to the back of Galaxy’s neck that is good for the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/Ej7P7y8.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Instead of greeting Emma with boos, the crowd chants “You tapped out! You tapped out!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bitch holds up her microphone, her trademark sneer already on her face, “Oh, very clever. I’m sure you stayed up all night thinking that one up.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The chant grows louder as Bitch enters the ring, “Like any of you fat slobs could have done better!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea comes over to Emma and tells her to ignore the crowd. As the fans continue their taunt, Emma finally loses her cool. “Oh yeah! Tell you what! Anyone out here think they’re tougher than me?! Then I dare you to get into this ring and see if I don’t make you quit!"</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

None of the fans take up Emma's invitation to face her in a match, but just when Bitch’s expression is about to turn to smug, the sounds of various barnyard animals start playing throughout the theater's sounds system to bring out 'The Farmer’s Daughter,' Ellie May Walton.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/XHsVwl5.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The fixture of AAA’s midcard scene for the past seven years rolls up her checkered sleeves as she walks down the ramp with a microphone in her hand, “Miss Bitch, if itza I’s quit match ya want, then itza I’s quit match ya gonna git.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The crowd, while surprised by Ellie’s appearance, does not react with much enthusiasm as she steps into the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

It does not take long for the match to descend into a wild brawl, with both Emma and Ellie lacking proficiency in submission moves. Bitch sells that maybe she has bitten off more than she can chew as the towering powerhouse that is Walton delivers punch after punch. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Emma’s great equalizer is the no disqualification stipulation and soon her opponent is eating a constant stream of chair shots to the head. Even this is not enough to make Walton give up, as she counters by using a military press to throw Bitch over the top rope and onto the theater floor.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Farmer’s Daughter goes outside the ring to stalk her opponent, only to be hit from behind by Thea. Walton turns around to attack Davis, but Emma has recovered and cracks a razor wire covered baseball bat across Ellie’s spine.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Walton drops to the floor, but refuses to give up when the referee asks her if she wants to quit. Emma actually appears happy about this, taking pleasure in the fact that she can keep beating up her opponent. Bitch scrapes the wire from the bat across Ellie’s forehead, causing a stream of blood to flow down Walton’s face.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

An attempt at a comeback is made by a staggering Ellie, but Emma ends that quickly by jabbing Walton in the stomach with the bat. Bitch puts the Farmer’s Daughter in a chokehold using the weapon, the sharp razors of the wire coming perilously close to Ellie’s throat. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I quit! I quit, you crazy bitch!” Walton screams and the referee calls for the bell. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura turns to face the camera, the Venus Champion trophy displayed prominently in the background, “Simony, thank you for keeping my title warm, but I’ve let you hold it long enough. The video cuts to the locker room, where Simony Sentinel stands with the Queen of the Ring title belt over her shoulder, “Laura, I saw what you did to my best friend. Is that the type of champion you would be? You earned this shot by winning the Venus Tournament, and I know just how hard that is to do. But you cheated to beat Maria in the final, so even if you win tonight, you will always have that asterix next to your name.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sentinel takes the title from off her shoulder and stares down at the belt, “I’ve now been Queen of the Ring longer than any other woman in history. Honey Golightly couldn’t kill this belt. </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The two wrestlers can feel the electricity in the theater as they engage in their initial lockup. Claire Winters and Maria Guest stand on the floor, in opposite corners, eying each other cautiously.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The fans still cheer every move Simony makes, but with Laura having a wave of momentum behind her after winning the Venus Tournament, it seems even the most ardent Sentinel supporters expect Flame to become Queen of the Ring tonight. Laura gives the audience no reason to doubt her, as she unleashes her crisp set of strikes on an off-balance Violent Violet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Knowing she can’t beat Flame in a martial arts contest, Simony relies on her gymnastics background to outmaneuver Laura. An over-aggressive Flame is taken down with a flying head scissors, and the fiery redhead retreats into the corner only to be crushed by Sentinel after the Violent Violet performs a series of acrobatic backflips that gets the crowd buzzing.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Laura now down on the mat, Simony climbs to the top rope and signals for the Sentinel Strike, only for Claire to jump up on the ring apron. Distracted for only a second, Simony feels her head snap back from a Flame Fire Kick without ever seeing the blow coming. The fans boo, but Laura only cares about covering her opponent.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…1</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…2</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

...but Simony kicks out, causing the fans to pop in a mix of disbelief and joy. Even Flame appears surprised by the outcome, asking Winters if the match really isn’t over.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sentinel is dazed as she gets back to her feet, but she is still able to duck out of the way of Laura’s second attempt to hit her with the Flame Fire Kick. Being so close to losing her title seems to reenergize the Violent Violet, and now it is Laura that is sent reeling by a series of kicks.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Flame doubled over, Simony bounces off of the ropes to hit UltraViolent, but Laura wisely rolls out of the ring near where Maria is standing.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Nice clothes,” Laura says to Maria with a wink. Guest’s face turns red with anger and the blonde spears Flame to the theater floor, causing referee Gregory Chapman to call for the bell.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

Winner via DQ: Laura Flame</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>But Still DPW Queen of the Ring: Simony Sentinel</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While the fans voice their displeasure at the premature ending of the match, Simony rolls out the ring and gets in Maria’s face, “What do you think you’re doing?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Guest can respond, Claire blindsides the blonde with a spinning heel kick that levels Maria to the floor. Sentinel’s eyes go wide and the Violent Violet finally snaps, causing the crowd to lose its mind.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Unleashing her fury on Winters, Simony becomes a blur of purple as she delivers blow after blow to the Ice Woman. Seemingly in another world, Sentinel grabs an unoccupied steel chair and cracks the steel against Claire’s skull as several members of the audience jump up and down in unbridled excitement.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura thinks about attacking Simony, but one look from Sentinel is all it takes to convince Flame that now is not the time to strike. Instead, the fiery redhead drags a dazed Claire towards the ramp, shouting, “This is only the beginning Simony! Ashes in the Fall, you and us! Fire N Ice versus Doll Parts!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Simony nods her head vigorously at the challenge, as Maria struggles to get to her feet in the background. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Simony helps a limping Maria backstage before a group of casino staffers emerge, pushing an extra-wide coffin towards the ring. The wooden box rests on a large utility cart that is draped with black fabric, and the cameraman makes sure to get a good shot of the ‘Courtesy Case De Paz Funeraria’ sticker on the back of the casket. The staffers stop at the bottom of the ramp and set up the coffin parallel with the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When </div><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2IvhqumuYo" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2IvhqumuYo" rel="external nofollow"><em>Where Boys Fear to Tread</em></a></div><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2IvhqumuYo" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> begins to play, the crowd starts to boo before Deborah Young even appears. The jeers grow louder as Deborah walks out with Emma and Thea close behind.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Ej7P7y8.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

No member of the trio holds a microphone, but halfway down the ramp Deborah extends out her arms and bellows for the whole theater to hear, “I serve only Devastation!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Young is not done, as she approaches the coffin and wraps her thick arms around the wooden box. With the bear hug secure, Deborah picks the casket off of the utility cart for a few moments before putting the coffin back down. Even as the fans boo, it is easy to tell that they have been impressed by this display of raw strength by Young.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat has a microphone in one hand, and a shovel in the other. The fans are already on their feet as Kate makes her way down the ramp, anticipating a fight before the match even begins. Instead, Kate climbs on top of the coffin and stares down the three women who have been thorns in her side for the past six months. Emma has her fists balled up as if she may strike, but with Kate holding the shovel at the ready, Bitch backs down.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As the crowd shouts along with every word, Kate holds the microphone high above her head, “My name is Kate Avatar, and I’m here to raise hell!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Main Event: Deborah Young vs Kate Avatar – Coffin Match</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate climbs down from the coffin, only to be surrounded by the three members of Devastation. Before Emma and Thea can pounce, Deborah signals for them to back off, which the two reluctantly do. Young points at the shovel in Hell Cat’s hand, and after a few tense moments, Avatar tosses the weapon aside.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The referee calls for the bell once the combatants enter the ring and Deborah motions for a test of strength. Kate surprises Young by nearly overpowering the 245-pound woman with her initial burst, but Deborah pushes back, forcing Hell Cat down to the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The crowd chants “Hell Cat! Hell Cat!” as the spectacle continues, Deborah beating Kate up with a steady diet of powerbombs and stiff punches, while Avatar counters with submission holds in an attempt to grind down the larger woman. On the outside of the ring, Emma paces back and forth like a caged animal, her breath heavy and her fists clenched.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When the action spills to the theater floor, Bitch finally strikes. Deborah watches the other two members of Devastation jump her opponent with a look of annoyance on her face. Young still does nothing to stop the beatdown and Emma tells Thea to open the lid of the coffin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Just when it looks like the match will come to an early end, Kate fights back against her foes. Emma gets an elbow to the face while Thea is sent to the floor with a standing dropkick. Kate turns around right into Deborah, and the two renew their brawl. Hell Cat even seems to be gaining the upper hand when a visibly pissed off Emma slams her in the back with the shovel.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate falls to the theater floor and Emma gives Deborah the signal for the Devastator. As Young picks up Hell Cat, Bitch reaches under the ring and pulls out a can of gasoline. The fans gasp as Emma douses the coffin with the flammable liquid, Thea shouting "Burn the witch!" in encouragement.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Deborah slams Kate into the casket and her two stablemates go to close the lid. Just when it appears the match is over, Hell Cat sticks her arm over the lip of the coffin, making it impossible to close. The trio of Devastation pound on the top of the wooden box, to no avail. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea backs away and pulls out an all-purpose lighter, but Emma fumbles with it when Davis hands it to her. This is all the opening Kate needs, as the lid of the coffin bursts open and Hell Cat stands up. Avatar jumps from her perch and delivers a flying elbow to Deborah’s head. The other two members of Devastation charge, but Kate manages to pick up the shovel and delivers successive shots to both women, leaving them down and out.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Twenty minutes into the match, the fans are nearing the point of exhaustion but are still hanging on every move. Deborah and Kate fight on the ring apron, with Hell Cat getting the better of the exchange. With Young dazed, Avatar somehow finds the strength to pick up her opponent and jumps, slamming Young’s head into the theater floor with the Dark Phoenix Driver.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With the crowd going wild, Kate drags Deborah to the casket. The knocked out Young offers no resistance as Kate places the 245-pound woman in the coffin and slams the lid closed, just as Emma and Thea get back to their feet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

Bitch looks at Thea and shrugs her shoulders before grabbing the lighter from the floor. Before Kate can react, Emma sets the coffin on fire and heads up the ramp with Davis, never giving a second thought to what she has just done.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Flames quickly envelop the wooden box as Hell Cat cries out for help. Casino staffers rush in with fire extinguishers, causing the theater to fill with a mix of smoke and white spray.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Once the air clears, Kate approaches the charred coffin, the expression on her face full of trepidation. Hell Cat flips open the lid, only to find the casket empty and Deborah Young nowhere to be found. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<p>Prediction Contest for Ashes in the Fall</p><p> </p><p> Congrats to Dr_Avalanche for winning the most recent prediction contest (yes, unopposed but a win's a win <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> )! This includes a perfect 7 out of 7 for Heat Check, and picking Laura but being unsure if the title would actually change hands at the event. I will send you the PM for your reward shortly.</p><p> </p><p> Hopefully, things won't be as predictable going forward. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Based on the feedback about the predicition contests, these will go to monthly for now. With Ashes in the Fall being DPW's second biggest event of the year, I figure I would do something different and give options to the winner on what they want as a reward. If there ends up being more than one contestant, then the runner-up would get to pick from the two options not choosen by the winner, and so on.</p><p> </p><p> The three options are:</p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>Select a character to be signed for a storyline<br /></li><li>Select the topic for an interlude<br /></li><li>Select a chapter from the book about BSC for posting</li></ul><p></p><p> </p><p> With that, here is the card for Ashes in the Fall with bonus point opportunites (as a reminder, the main event is worth 2 points while all other matches are worth 1 point). Haha, yeah, hopefully for the big events things will be less predictable. If the other prizes are not handed out this time, I will probably just roll them over to the next couple shows. :D

Chapter 17 Interlude: Binge and Purge

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

“Hard choices, that’s what they’re called,” Kate Avatar thinks as she sits at her desk across from Phil Vibert, who taps his foot on the linoleum floor in an unconscious and increasingly annoying rhythm.

http://i.imgur.com/XEjtSQu.jpg

Kate has to give Phil credit; he certainly knows what he is doing behind all that frenetic energy. The addition of taped backstage segments had worked out better than she could have hoped for and the crowd for Heat Check lapped up the variation from the usual promos in the ring.

Phil’s push for Laura to win the Venus tournament also paid instant dividends with Flame gaining fans faster than Kate anticipated. Vibert’s campaigning for Natalie also saved DiMarco's place on the roster, even though her segment last month meant appealing to the lowest common denominator to get a cheap pop.

Kate stares down at the list of five names on her desk, on which Natalie’s name is crossed out along with Gloria’s. The latter’s job had been saved by her performance against Velvet earlier in the night, and it had taken only slight convincing for Vibert to see that keeping Gloria on the roster is a good idea, at least for now. There would not have been a need for such a discussion, but with Gloria, Phil’s worry is that her temper will eventually get the best of former bodybuilder. This had already happened in CWWF, where Gloria is on the verge of being fired after sending threatening tweets to that company’s head booker, Jason Rogers.

The next name on the list, Juliette King, had made the decision to fire her even easier by trashing her rental car before the show and then trying to hand the bill to Kate, saying some crazed Velvet Suarez fans were responsible for the damage. While Kate wishes she could have had King job out one more time before letting her go, she hopes that the instant termination of Juliette’s contract will force her to clean up her act and send a message to the rest of the locker room that these Kind of antics will not be tolerated any more.

“…so her name is Hoshiko Tagawa. You’ve got to see these videos Kate! She’s nineteen freaking years old, but I’m telling you, she’s going to be a big star. She’s only wrestling on the independents in Japan right now, but I’m pretty sure we can convince her to come to the US if 5SSW doesn’t sign her by the end of the year.”

Kate looks up from the list and at Vibert’s tapping foot, “Sounds good Phil…”

Just then, there is a knock on the door and Amy Galaxy pokes her head into Kate’s office/home.

http://i.imgur.com/uIOY5sq.jpg

“You wanted to see me Kate?” Amy has a slightly worried look on her face as she leans in through the doorway.

“Oh yes Amy, please come in,” Kate motions to Galaxy and Vibert stands up to let Amy sit down.

“Good, you know I’ve been thinking about what we can do with my character. I know my momentum is in the dumps after you had me put over Claire, then Ariel, and now Thea, but…” Galaxy’s voice becomes increasingly annoyed with the mention of each name as she stares at Kate.

“Look, Amy this is never easy…”

“I think there is still something we could do. What about doing a storyline where I become frustrated over all this losing until I finally snap? I could even turn heel and we could build it up that this new attitude leads to a winning streak and…”

“Amy, we’re letting you go.”

Galaxy is about to continue in her stream of thought before Kate’s words finally process in her brain, “Wait, you’re firing me?!”

“Yes, it’s not something I want to do, but it has to be done. We’re only going to have around $2,000 in the bank by the end of the month and…”

“Kate, I’ve been telling you for months to get the finances under control, and this is how you do it?! You brought that hick Ellie May in for $670 just to put over Emma and now you’re firing me?!”

“Amy, this recession has gone on longer than we ever anticipated, and it’s global now. BCG has already gone under, and MAW and ACPW are going to join them soon. Hell, even 5SSW and PSW replaced their bookers because they’re losing money. There’s some people we want to bring in, and we can’t do that without letting some people go.”

Galaxy blinks rapidly as her blood boils even more, “So you’re not even cutting costs!? You getting rid of me so you can bring
someone
else in?!”

“It’s not just you Amy, we already let Juliette go.”

“Wow, so you’re grouping me in with
her
? I should have known better than to join a promotion after all these years. I should have stayed on the independents.” Amy shakes her head back and forth while looking at the ground, “What are you going to do about booking? Who’s going to help you run the company?”

“Phil here is going to help me on the business side of things, and him and Emma are going to be on the booking committee.”

“So you’re going to trust a drug addict and
this
guy?! Jesus Kate, you might as well just sell to Mark Carnie while you’re at it.”

“Amy, I know you’re upset…”

“Upset!? Upset doesn’t even start to describe what I’m feeling Kate. You know how many matches I’ve won in the past year and a half? Three, and two of those were dark matches. Did I complain? Did I lobby for better booking? No, I followed whatever you told me because you’re supposed to be some creative genius. I’ve spent the tail end of my career sacrificing my popularity for you, but all you did was chew me up and spit me out,” Galaxy stands up with tears in her eyes. She looks at Kate and then Phil before shaking her head, “F’ning promoters, you’re all the same.”

Amy leaves, her final statement being the slamming of the office door behind her. Kate and Phil sit in silence for several minutes before Vibert speaks, “You okay?”

“Yeah, I’ll be alright. Now I just have to go find Debbie.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s funny how life works out sometimes. Three weeks after Kate released Amy and Deborah from their contracts, the US stock market shot up 5% on better than expected earnings from several large corporations. The year and a half long American recession had finally come to an end.

The Meteoric Rise and Fall of BSC: Ladies of the Night

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

Lying down on her cot in her home/office at Piper Casino, Kate scrolls through Marilyn Stardust’s book on her phone until she reaches the chapter titled ‘Ladies of the Night.’

The longest running stable in BSC would also be the company’s least successful if it were not for the joke known as the Fabulous Furries. The Ladies of the Night (LoN) group was established in June 2010 and lasted, in one form or another, until BSC’s closing. In the wake of Alison Capone’s public firing, Alison’s long-time friend Vampella was elevated to the top heel position on the roster. With Vampella already in a feud with Tamara McFly and Alexis Lee Littlefeather over the High Roller belt, we knew she needed to be seen as a credible threat instead of just a Twilight rip-off. This meant adding Roxy Kitten and Nurse Darla Knight as her allies, with both women at least looking the part of crazed followers.

http://i.imgur.com/nuYLH2J.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/t5e8WRo.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/2OkI2h4.jpg

Thus began the group’s evolution into a cult that worshipped ‘The Lady.’ At the off-screen direction of this mysterious figure, the stable moved on to targeting Kate Avatar, the Queen of the Ring at the time, with a series of blood baths and mock funerals. Everyone in the back knew that Vampella would not be the one to end Kate’s reign, and the crowd sensed this too, but the unknown driver of LoN’s actions at least kept the fans engaged. The Kate versus the Ladies of the Night feud would last only three months, culminating at the final show of 2010, when Avatar defeated Vampella in a Christmas in a Coffin match. After that match, we revealed that color commentator and part-owner of BSC, Sara Silver, was behind LoN, using the group in an attempt to drive Kate from the company. This was of course when Sara had her famous “Well, I guess if you can’t get the job done, then you better find someone better to do it” promo that introduced Joanne Rodriguez to BSC.

LoN’s purposed served, we could have disbanded the group in early 2011, but Vampella still generated a good amount of heat. Using the reasoning that the trio really did believe there was a Lady out there and that Silver had just been a false prophet, we relaunched the group by having them perform a ‘human sacrifice’ of a retiring Nurse Hope Daye. I can not take full credit for the effectiveness of this angle, but I will say that the Las Vegas police visited us several times that week after receiving concerned calls from people that were convinced the beating heart they saw cut out of Daye’s chest was real.

Alas, that was the real peak of the group, as Vampella dropped the High Roller belt to Littlefeather in February 2011. A series of midcard feuds followed, using LoN as a stepping stone for any new talent Kate wanted to get over. In one last attempt to save the stable from permanent jobber status, Vixxen was revealed as the Lady in October 2011, but even the inclusion of the well-known veteran as the group’s manager failed to move the needle.

Over the next few months, Vampella and her acolytes drifted lower on the card, until Raven Nightfall revealed herself as the true brains behind the Ladies of the Night(fall). Instead of using this storyline to give a renewed push to the group, Kate effectively killed what little credibility LoN had left by booking Raven to denounce the stable as a bunch of losers who failed in their mission. This gave Vixxen an out to become manager for her Wild Times tag team partner, Devil’s Daughter, while Vampella reverted to her face persona of Southern Belle and fought Roxy in a feud that only served to further drag down the popularity of both women.

Eventually, Southern Belle would turn back into Vampella and reform LoN with Roxy and Darla, but the trio were little more than true believers without a savior at that point, a joke without a punchline, until BSC finally closed.

In the many wrestling conventions I have attended in the past few months, several fans have asked me if there were any plans to bring the group back to prominence if the company had stayed open, considering Raven and Talia’s battle against Kate was tinged with so many reminders of LoN’s past. I can confirm that this was a possibility. If Alicia had stayed heel in her feud with Higa, Foreign Exchange would have eventually disbanded, leaving Gorgon and Devil’s Daughter free to join up with Raven and Talia. I would have pushed to have Roxy, managed by Vampella, as part of the group to really tie in their whole history, but it is likely that Kate would have shot the idea down in favor of the fourth member being someone she could claim she was responsible for bringing into the company.

Of course, we will never know what could have been, so instead our memories of the Ladies of the Night will be of blood baths, coffins, and many, many losses.

I haven't lost anybody yet through Carnie's misconduct though he has developed a dislike with somebody that I like a lot and am hoping to push. You'll just have to keep reading to see how that plays out. :p

A mess of a match, only saved from being a complete disaster by Kaori’s steady hand. Natalie skips down the ramp, a wide smile across her blushing face.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Most of the fans in the front row seem to enjoy the show, especially when DiMarco bends over and touches her toes before climbing through the ropes and into the ring. An embarrassed male casino staffer does his best to look Natalie in the eyes as he hands her a microphone.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Did y’all miss me?” DiMarco pouts playfully, and several vocal men in the audience can’t get enough of her act. “Good, ‘cause I missed you. Last time I was out here, you all saw me naked and I learned something, I like being naked, and I like people seeing me naked. So why not get paid for being naked?!” Natalie’s new fans cheer louder at each pronouncement, climaxing with her final declaration. “And that’s why you can catch me in SWS Productions' new movie, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">The Spankening: Sorority Sisters Gone Bad 12</span></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">, coming out tomorrow. The freshly christened Amorous gives the crowd a bow as her small fan club chants “Polly! Polly!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The former Natalie DiMarco makes her way out of the ring, blowing kisses to the audience as she goes. Flame and Winters make their way to the ring as the majority of the crowd boos.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Once through the ropes, Laura snatches a microphone from a nearby casino staffer and glares at the toy belt she now holds in her left hand, “This should be the real thing! I should be Queen of the Ring right now!” While most of the fans loudly jeer Flame, a good chunk of the audience cheers her proclamation, “The only reason I’m not is because of that blonde bimbo, Maria Guest. But I know she didn’t interfere in my match last month on her own. No, you see, Simony Sentinel is nothing but a fraud. She comes out here and talks about doing the right thing and never cheating, but the second she faces a real challenger, her minion ends the match and she’s still champion. Hoooow convenient!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Simony and Maria walk out slowly from backstage to wild cheers. Guest has a scowl on her face as she stares at Laura and Claire in the ring while Sentinel looks down at the microphone in her hand, “You know Laura, you can bad mouth us all you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that…you have a point.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The fans loudly chant, “No! No!” and Simony tries to calm them down.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Claire leans into the mic held by Flame with a smirk on her face and gestures towards the two women walking down the ramp, “You know what pisses me off the most about these two, Laura? The fact that even as they pander to these assholes in the crowd, they know they can’t beat us. Hell, I’d make that purple-haired midget tap out in two seconds if she ever dared get in an octagon with me. But even after we beat them tonight, I bet Simony won’t even give you another title shot.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura nods her head vigorously as Doll Parts enter the ring. Simony puts her right arm in front of Maria to keep the blonde from immediately attacking Fire N Ice before speaking, “If all you want is another title shot Laura, why didn’t you say so? How about if the two of you win later tonight, I’ll give you whatever match you want at Unwanted Gifts.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura rubs her chin as if pondering the implications of this offer, “Whatever match I want? That’s a deal,” Simony and Maria turn to leave the ring, but Flame holds up her hand, “One thing, though. I noticed you didn’t let your partner chime in. Some ‘best friends.’ What’s a matter bimbo, you too stupid to talk?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Maria takes the microphone from Simony and acts like she is going to open her mouth, but smashes Laura in the face with the object instead. Claire winds up for a spinning heel kick, but Simony, after an initial moment of hesitation, tackles Winters to the ground and starts landing punches to her head. The four women brawl as the red hot crowd cheers every stiff blow.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura and Claire are eventually able to roll out of the ring, much worse for wear than Simony and Maria. Flame wipes a trickle of blood from the corner of her mouth as she helps Winters up the ramp while Doll Parts high-five each other in the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At the start of the match, Ursula and Velvet appear intent on enacting revenge for the assault they suffered at the hands of Jawbreaker at Heat Check, but this anger leaves the champions open to the targeted attacks of their opponents. Ariel draws Saez in by taunting her, then counters Ursula’s charge by throwing the Mayan Mauler into the ring post.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Breaks and McMahon continue their string of great performances, showing tremendous coordination for such a freshly formed team. Suarez and Ursula are their usual combination of athleticism and power, but Saez is consistently a step behind in the struggle against Jawbreaker. This results in the Mayan Mauler getting hit with Breakerfall by Ariel, but Saez is able to kick out at two.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Ariel complaining to the referee and the crowd urging her on, Ursula is finally able to get the hot tag to Velvet, and the purple clad luchadora takes down Breaks before sending Kathy flying from the ring apron with a dropkick. Suarez jumps to the top turnbuckle and leaps for the Purple Haze Moonsault, but Ariel rolls out of the way at the last second. Velvet slams chest first into the mat, and before a still recovering Ursula can react, Breaks covers Suarez and grabs a handful of tights for extra leverage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Well look what the cat dragged in?” Thea tone is full of condescension as she barely glances at Shine.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/kq95o5v.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I seek not a cat! I seek the Lady…” Sandra’s voice warbles between a scream and a whisper as she twitches next to Davis.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Uh huh, well there’s no lady here except me, so it looks like you’re plum out of luck poppet.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“But…the coffin! That is a gift from her. I’ve seen you, you are one of them! You must know her…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea rolls her head from side to side, finally showing her annoyance at Shine’s persistence, “Look here ya nutter, the Lady’s not here. She’s not anywhere because she doesn’t exist! So why don’t you…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Blasphemer!” Sandra slaps Davis across the face, leaving a red palm mark on the cheek of the Englishwoman.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea looks at Shine with venom in her eyes, “Now that's a mistake. I don’t care if your daft or not, you’re going to pay for that. Tonight, meet me in the ring, and I’ll knock the crazy right out of you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Match #2: Sandra Shine vs Thea Davis</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/kq95o5v.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sandra gives no indication that she even knows she is in the ring for the match as the action starts, choosing instead to have a conversation with a turnbuckle while Thea closes in. Showing that she has not forgotten about what transpired earlier, Davis proceeds to slap Shine across the face over and over again, showing no mercy even as the small blonde puts up little defense.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Just when it looks like Thea will win the match easily, Sandra looks up at the ceiling and nods as if receiving an important message. The result is a surprised Davis being on the receiving end of a dropkick from Shine, and the fight is on.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea regains control of the match, only to have Sandra kick out at one after receiving an Axe Kick to the head. Shine gets up and Davis pummels her with blows, to little effect. Sandra wags her finger at her opponent, then hits the Rise and Shine hurricanrana, but Thea kicks out just before the referee can bring his hand down for three.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Eyes wide, Shine goes for the follow up, but Davis counters with a fisherman’s suplex. Sandra gets back to her feet, but receives another Axe Kick to the back of her neck. This time, it is good for the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Davis lifts Shine head off of the mat by her hair and finds the small blonde knocked out. Still holding up Sandra’s head, Thea yells towards the stage, “Hell Cat, here kitty kitty! I know you can’t resist the chance to play the hero, so why don’t you come out here and stop me!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea pick Sandra up and hits Shine with an exploder suplex, “Really Kate?! You won’t rescue this poor, defenseless Looney Tune? I guess I’ll just have to up the stakes.” Davis goes out of the ring and grabs an empty steel chair from the floor. Before Thea came climb back through the ropes, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>

Kate runs down the ramp as Thea raises the chair up to defend herself. Right when Avatar reaches Davis, Emma Bitch crawls out from under the ring with a razor-wire wrapped baseball bat in hand. Hell Cat is so focused on Thea that she doesn’t hear the crowd yelling at her to turn around and Kate never sees the blow coming as Bitch cracks the bat across her spine.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat falls to the floor in a heap and Thea decides to hit Devastation’s latest victim with the steel chair just for good measure. Avatar tries to lift her head up, but just as she does, Emma swings and bashes Kate in the face with her weapon of choice. Thea goes in for another strike, but Emma calls off her sidekick.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Rest up Hell Cat, vengeance is coming.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Chapter 17: Unforgiven Too (Part 2 of 2)

After Kate and Sandra are led to the back to receive medical attention, Laura and Claire appear again, with expressions of fierce determination on their faces. Once Fire N Ice are in the ring, Hole’s
plays to bring out Simony and Maria to loud cheers.

http://i.imgur.com/WJmMHx8.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/9odiyrV.jpg

Guest is the first to speak this time, as Sentinel follows her tag team partner down the ramp, “All my life, people have been calling me stupid just because of the color of my hair. Laura and Claire, you just learned about the fight that lies in my heart. You may think this is the Reign of Flame, but greatness is my destiny and you two will not stand in the way of…”

Simony walks in front of Maria and points at the two women of Fire N Ice, “Me and Maria have been best friends for over three years now. We share a bond that has helped us become tag team champions, then Queen of the Ring. This bond is something that makes us stronger than the two of you will ever be. You may think that you can drive a wedge between us, but that can only mean…”

Simony holds up her microphone, and after a brief moment of hesitation, Maria does the same so the tag team partners can say in unison, “…you don’t know Doll Parts!”

Match #4: Doll Parts vs Fire N Ice

Simony and Laura begin the match facing off against one another, and immediately pick up where their battle from last month left off. Sentinel flies around the ring with renewed intensity, while Flame begins to show some improved technical ability as she counters the moves of the Violent Violet with a series of takedowns and throws.

Maria and Claire do not remain bystanders for long, and soon the action breaks down with all four women in the ring. In the chaos, Claire hits Simony with a spinning heel kick, but Guest is able to break up the pin attempt at two. Laura tries to hit Maria with the Flame Fire Kick, but Guest sidesteps the move and then picks up the fiery redhead with ease. The crowd rises to their feet as Maria swings Flame around her body and smashes Laura into the mat with an inverted Samoan drop.

Claire helps her tag team partner roll out of the ring to recover, but Simony instantly jumps to the top turnbuckle and hits Fire N Ice with a Sentinel Strike on the theater floor to a loud pop from the fans. Referee Gregory Chapman calls for order, but even he has lost track of who the legal women in the match are.

The fast pace of the fight continues for another ten minutes and all four wrestlers turn in star-worthy performances while trying to steal the show. With Simony and Claire battling in the ring, the crowd cheers wildly for each punch by the Violent Violet. Winters manages to back Sentinel into Doll Parts' corner, but before the Ice Woman sends Simony over the top rope with a clothesline, Maria slaps the back of her tag team partner to enter the action.

Claire is caught off-guard as Guest steps into the ring and blindsides the Ice Woman with a spear. Maria covers Winters, but this time Flame is the one to break up the pin at two. Laura runs back to the ring apron, and with Maria just getting back to her feet, Claire takes this brief window of opportunity to crawl to her team’s corner and tags in Flame.

After a short stare-down that gets the audience buzzing, Maria and Laura brawl from one side of the ring to the other. While Simony watches this melee, Winters sneaks over to the corner of Doll Parts and pulls Sentinel down from the ring apron. The Violent Violet recovers quickly and tackles Claire to the theater floor. In the ring, Maria hits Laura with a spear. Guest goes to her corner to tag in Simony to finish off Flame with the Sentinel Strike, but finding her partner brawling with Winters, turns around right into a Flame Fire Kick to the jaw.

Laura draps her arm over Maria and the referee counts 1 – 2 – 3 for the pin.

Winners via Pinfall: Fire N Ice

Simony hears the bell and stops her fight with Claire. Winters looks into the ring and smiles at seeing Laura having her arm raised in victory. The Ice Woman joins her tag team partner in the ring while Maria rolls under the ropes near Sentinel.

Flame is handed a microphone and gestures wildly, “That’s how a real tag team takes care of business!” The crowd boos loudly at Laura’s taunt while Simony and Maria fume from the theater floor.

Claire grabs a mic and continues her partner’s mocking tone, “You can call yourselves ‘besties,’ but all that really matters is how good your friend is in a fight. And let me tell you, there is no stopping the Reign of Flame!”

Laura gives Winters an enthusiastic nod of appreciation before stepping forward to point at Sentinel, “Simony, you said I could have any match I want when we won. Well, at Unwanted Gifts, it’ll be all four us, in a ladder match, for the title. See if your little friendship can survive that,” Laura lips curl upward while the two women of Doll Parts give each other looks of concern. The fans, on the other hand, can not contain their excitement for the proposed match-up.

Sandra Shine is shown in a dark corner somewhere backstage, rocking back and forth. The camera swings around Sandra to reveal she is holding an ornate knife in her right hand.

“What have I done wrong? Haven’t I served you well?!” Shine looks down at the knife, her shaking only increasing, “Yes, blood…blood is what she needs. The Lady demands a sacrifice…” The small blonde lets out a maniacal laugh before pressing the knife against her left forearm. The camera pans down to show only a stream of blood dripping onto the concrete floor before fading to black.

Emma, a smirk across her blue painted lips, walks out on the stage to boos. Thea follows close behind, carrying the razor-wire wrapped baseball bat that has become Bitch’s calling card.

“Hell Cat, I can’t believe you fell for it,” Emma looks over at Davis and the two share a good laugh at Kate’s expense, “I can’t tell you what it’s like to wait under that ring for hours, but my God, was it worth it!”

As the fans jeer more, Thea laughs again before holding up her own microphone, “You saw how vicious we can be at Heat Check. Devastation is only as strong as our weakest link, and losing will not be tolerated! Deborah, wherever she is, knows better than to show her face in DPW ever again.”

Bitch reaches the ring and makes a wide sweeping motion with her hands, “All of this belongs to us! Kate Avatar stole the careers of so many women. She lied to us…she cheated us, all of us! It is our purpose to reclaim what was lost, for what we seek is vengeance. Vengeance for the Neptune Twins, vengeance for Sweet as Candy, vengeance for Alison Capone.”

Thea stands next to Bitch, and looks directly into the camera, “Kate, we will not stop until you are left lifeless on the mat. You told me I was going to be star, but all I got was a pink slip and a summons! Devastation will be the end of you…”

“…and nothing will stop us,” Emma stand in the middle of the ring, her arms outstretched in a crucifixion pose, drawing even more boos from the riled up crowd.

plays again, and the crowd shows that they a ready for the main event by giving Kate a thunderous ovation once she appears on the stage. Avatar has a bandage taped over where she was busted open earlier in the evening, though her blood has turned most of the white cotton red already.

“I thought I could destroy Devastation by taking out Deborah Younf, but now I know that I need to cut off the head of the snake if I want to finish the job and rid DPW of you two once and for all!” The fans roar their approval as Hell Cat heads down the ramp. Before she enters the ring, Kate holds a microphone high above her head for her catchphrase, but the lights in the theater go out.

“Kate Avatar…” a distorted female speaks over the sound system, each word uttered appearing in blood-red letters on the video screen above the stage, “I have not forgotten…and I do not forgive.”

When the lights come back on, Kate is noticeably flustered, while Emma and Thea look at each other in confusion.

Main Event: Emma Bitch vs Kate Avatar

Before referee Gregory Chapman can call for the bell, Emma taunts Kate over the bandage on Avatar’s forehead. Once the action starts, Bitch targets Hell Cat’s wound, and soon tears away the white cotton patch. Blood starts flowing down Kate’s face, but the referee lets the match continue unimpeded.

Kate fights back through the growing crimson mask on her face, but Emma is able to cut her off at every opportunity. Only when Hell Cat counters Emma’s attempt at an elbow strike with a belly-to-belly suplex does the momentum of the match begin to shift.

With Thea screaming out in disbelief from the theater floor, Hell Cat takes the fight to her rival, landing a series of punches to Bitch’s head before taking Emma down with a stiff clothesline. The member of Devastation stumbles back to her feet, only for Avatar to pounce on her and land more blows to Bitch’s face. Kate wipes the blood out of her eyes and lets out a primal scream that the audience returns with supportive cheers.

Emma rises to find blood streaming from a cut above her right eye. Bitch pats the wound and seeing the red fluid on her fingertips, directs a twisted smile at Kate. With both wrestlers busted open, the ensuing twenty minutes witness a battle of attrition where neither woman is willing to concede an inch to their opponent. Kate and Emma both display utter contempt for each other, but Bitch is able to dig deep into her well of hatred to gain the upper hand.

Showing an unusual amount of technical acumen, Emma places Kate in the Scorpion Deathlock. With the crowd pleading for Avatar not to tap out, Kate tries unsuccessfully to get to the ropes. In one last move of desperation, Kate powers out of the hold, flipping Emma onto her chest and then putting Bitch in the Hell Cat’s Cradle.

With Emma near the ropes, Thea reaches out and pulls Bitch to the ring apron. Gregory Chapman warns Davis, but allows the match to proceed by calling for Avatar to break the hold. Kate releases the submission maneuver at the count of four and then sizes up Emma for the Dark Phoenix Driver. Bitch is barely able to react as Hell Cat slams her head into the mat and goes for the cover.

…but Emma kicks out, much to the audible shock of the crowd. Kate does not dwell on this, conveying that she knows Bitch will not be put down so easily. Hell Cat calls for another Dark Phoenix Driver, but as she waits for Emma to get back to her feet, Thea reaches under the ropes and grabs Avatar’s foot.

“I’ll deal with you after this!” Kate turns around and points at Thea, who throws up her hands to plead her innocence as the referee becomes curious about this exchange. Avatar pivots her attention back to her opponent, but is instantly picked up by Emma for the Payback Slam. Hell Cat crashes to the match, and Bitch cackles as she covers Kate for the win.

Winner via Pinfall: Emma Bitch

Match Rating: D+

Emma takes only a moment to savor her victory before going in for the kill. Thea hands Bitch the baseball bat and then holds Kate as Emma winds up for the final blow.

That is when the sound of air raid sirens plays throughout the theater, only to be followed by the beats of military marching and a bugle playing. The crowd murmurs at this
, but that confusion is washed away when a familiar message flashes across the video screen above the stage.

100% Pure

Amber Allen walks out to a decent pop, the former BSC Queen of the Ring making her first appearance anywhere after her year-long hiatus since being released from NOTBPW. Allen takes one moment to soak in the cheers before running down the ramp. Despite being armed with a baseball bat, Emma gives a nod to Thea and the two women bail from the ring as Amber slides under the ropes.

Allen helps Kate to her feet and Hell Cat gives a look of appreciation to her long-time friend, sometime rival.

“You just made the biggest mistake of your life, blondie!” Emma shouts from the theater floor before heading backstage with Thea.

Post-Show Dark Match: Amber Allen vs Ellie May Walton

http://i.imgur.com/FLqfWEw.jpg
VS
http://i.imgur.com/XHsVwl5.jpg

The crowd is excited for this match-up at first, but that enthusiasm quickly fades away once the actions starts. Due to her year away from wrestling, Amber is clearly trying to shake of ring rust as she botches her first attempt at a suplex.

It does not help that Ellie May, in fulfilling the last appearance in her contract for DPW, is acting completely unprofessional, sandbagging Allen at every turn and then over exaggerating bumps to the point that the match becomes laughable. After Walton falls to the mat before Amber can even land a punch, most of the audience starts to head for the exits while those that remain boo loudly.

“What are you doing?!” Allen whispers into Ellie’s ear, but the former BSC Queen of the Ring receives no response. Amber decides to end the match early, getting Walton in a cross arm breaker that Ellie languidly taps out to.

Winner via Submission: Amber Allen

Match Rating: F+

Before she can be handed a microphone, Amber walks over to referee Gregory Chapman to have her arm raised.

“Get that garbage out of the ring,” in a larger venue, the crowd would not be able to her Allen’s order to the referee, but with the theater being so small, the fans hear every word as Amber gestures towards Walton.

Amber composes herself and grabs a microphone from a nearby casino staffer, “I’m baaaaaaaack!” Allen smiles and the three dozen fans that remain in the theater cheer.

Predicition Contest for Unwanted Gifts

I haven't lost anybody yet through Carnie's misconduct though he has developed a dislike with somebody that I like a lot and am hoping to push. You'll just have to keep reading to see how that plays out. :p

That's good to know. I thought something that extreme would be a bit of a game-breaker, but I would keep reading either way. :D

Congrats to Dr_Avalanche on another win! Depending on what prize is chosen, the reward options for the next prediction contest will be whatever is left unselected from the Ashes in the Fall prize list. I will likely update this post once I know what this will be.

With that, below is the card for December's event, Unwanted Gifts. As in the previous year, the main event is a four-way ladder match for the DPW Queen of the Ring title, so this is likely to become a tradition in years to come.

I'm curious to know what people think of Natalie's switch to Polly, so please feel free to leave feedback, good or bad, as it will affect how her push plays out down the road. :)
