This is incredible work and I can not wait to start playing! You have done such a great job with the stats for all of the workers. The only changes I make are more for my own bias and preference, nothing I can complain about at all. I actually think have of the fun is tweaking workers to be what my clouded memory wants to think they were!! HAHA

Anyway I had a couple of questions just to help me...

Does Potential matter for already established veteran workers? I don't want to bother adjusting potential for established stars if it doesn't matter.

Does the maturity date, retirement date, etc really matter that much either or does random usually do the job?

The broadcasting deal for WCW and WWF that is mentioned as needing to be removed. I assume removing that does not cause any negatives to the 2 promotions, it is just something that must be done because the AI can not handle it?

Has anyone played a long term game (more than a couple of years) to see how the mod plays out? I am guessing it will probably be an excellent long term game but just wanted to know if there is anything I should do with it as the game years advance.

I overpower guys for personal use. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Does Potential matter for already established veteran workers? Some beta testers were noticing veteran guys who had clearly peaked at this point getting significantly better so I adjusted it where it was pointed out to prevent that from happening. Jim Neidhart for example was mentioned by two testers as a guy who got super good and super over. Go figure.

Does the maturity date, retirement date, etc really matter that much either or does random usually do the job?

You'll notice that I don't put those in for most workers in the data, but for some where it was necessary I did. They do have a big effect. Retirement date won't hurt you much for workers you use, but it will push older guys into retirement around that age if they don't have steady work.

The broadcasting deal for WCW and WWF that is mentioned as needing to be removed. I assume removing that does not cause any negatives to the 2 promotions, it is just something that must be done because the AI can not handle it?

Yeah, the AI doesn't use them at all. They are in the game because if I don't have them in the data and you play as either WWF or WCW, you wouldn't be able to negotiate that contract. IE, WWF couldn't get a deal with NBC to hold SNME in the game world so I give it you to start. However, if you DON'T take it out of the data for the company you aren't using, THAT will have a negative impact on the company. In my testing when that contract term runs out the company gets sued by the broadcaster for failing to fulfill their contract.

Has anyone played a long term game (more than a couple of years) to see how the mod plays out? It should work pretty smoothly. Things I'm still tinkering with are trying to manipulate the data to where more new stars are created in that time span (the AI tends to stagnate) and I've noticed Mexico getting overpowered. I'm also still trying to figure out the right balance for Puerto Rico, but I expect a patch from Adam that will improve that area.

Jim Herd is set as CEO which i assume means i get owner goals from him, but does he still report to Billionaire Ted?

This is the "controversial" part of Rising Storms. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I had debate with The Mod Squad about to handle it and am on uneasy ground right now and may change it for 1.1.

Basically a CEO can be fired, re-sign, etc. He is not the owner, he has been hired to run the company.

In real life, this reflects Jim Herd's role with WCW, followed by names like Bill Watts, Kip Frey, Bill Shaw, Eric Bischoff, etc. In game, WCW is owned by TBS (just like real life) and that is intended to reflect that Herd or whoever is CEO still reports to Ted Turner who is the owner of TBS. However, unless you use him as a user character, Ted Turner is not going to be in the data. He is the unseen force represented by TBS owning WCW as a media group.

So yes, your owner goals will come from Jim Herd which reflects the real life situation you had in WCW. This will seriously complicate your situation in WCW, which it did in real life, because Herd is a bully and a prick and nobody liked him. A perfect reflection of this is that Ric Flair starts the game with WCW but will be incredibly difficult for the user to keep because of his starting morale and Jim Herd being associated with the company.

Was the AI smart enough to be able to turn them into a powerhouse strong enough to challenge WWF or do they get stuck?

First of all, if you play as WCW or WWF you are going to have an advantage over the AI. Let's get that out of the way.

However, the AI is very aggressive at stealing stars. In the sims I've run the WCW AI tends to steal a LOT of established stars from the WWF. Adam definitely turned the aggression up big time. I've seen WCW buy-out 9-10 companies in 18 months, sign every star that become available, etc. I have had WWF go out of business in sims as well. It will be very hard for WCW to go belly up because they have a lot of money. However, I am tweaking narratives for the next release that will change WCW a little to make it more financially challenging as time goes on.

Oh man. This CEO stuff seems really insane! I'm gonna give it a proper bash

I definitely want feedback from players on how they feel about the CEO situation. Seriously. If that is a negative for people I'll just swap Herd out for Turner and be done with it. I don't like that because it doesn't emulate reality at all, but oh well. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Example, when Eric Bischoff became head of production for WCW he didn't even meet with Turner. I can't remember but I think it was Bill Shaw that he met with and told him that if the company wasn't turned around the order from on high was to shut WCW down. WCW had a long line of CEOs come in and out in the 90s before Bischoff became president and they all had power over the finances, overall direction of the company, etc.

Example, it was Bill Shaw that axed Bill Watts. It was Bill Shaw that put in place a 16 man booking team for WCW or some crazy number. Kip Frey that changed contract structures, Bill Busch that cut salaries big time (Bill Watts as well when he was the man in that seat.)

Ideally the CEO position should turnover more frequently but I can't control that. If it ruining games for people though I'll just go ahead and change it.

However, I'm thrilled that the media group owning a company works this time and doesn't stop the user from expanding.

Very pleased to see this released, interesting period in wrestling. I'm going with WWF, and think I'm going to have Taker topple Warrior pretty soon and run him through Warrior, Hogan and Savage to cement him as the new force in WWF while I build up Bret to be the underdog face that eventually beats him.

One thing I was wondering was about personalities, a lot of guys seem to have the same slightly odd personality (it's very flaky, for one). Might be worth looking at because I don't think someone like Gerald Brisco should be so unreliable.

Minor gripe with an otherwise great piece of work!

If you add an unemployed new player/book unemployed then leave the game. add another player to own WCW then leave that game and add a yourself as a booker.

http://i.imgur.com/e53tpIg.png

Just to test it I got Bish as CEO while I book as Sullivan

You'll loose your stats but you'll get a new CEO. EDIT: Just realised you get 25 points to spend. So now I'm going to start again and change management as it actually happened through the years Jim Herd>Bill Watts>Eric Bishoff
