Diary Failures & Dynasty One Shots

Recommended Posts

Anyone out there start a diary or multiple diaries only to have them fall by the wayside due to losing interest, work, or just life in general? I'm pretty sure that's like the entirety of our community :D. This is something I just recently thought off like thirty seconds ago. Has anyone ever used a thread not to post their own individual diaries or anything, but to instead write out that one show or that one big PPV that they could just see so vividly in their minds? I would really like to see a thread where people who would like to start a diary or people who know it wouldn't last to simply post that one show right up for people to enjoy. I'm pretty sure it could or would be interested if we did have a place like that around here and in a way it would be a community dynasty in every since of the phrase. Thoughts?

I've thought about doing a thread that was highlights of segments and big moments from various games that I saw vividly enough to write out, but never did it. The first one was in a TEW13 SWF game, with Angry Gilmore doing a CM Punk style "pipe bomb" and starting a feud with Jack Bruce to work towards the top of the card. But it wasn't as good as I wanted when I got it written so I never made a post.

It may have not been that good to you, but who knows how we would have viewed it. That right there is a prime example of why I'd love to have a Dynasty One-shot thread for people who doesn't necessarily want to start a dynasty, but would still like to share that tiny bit of their world. If I get any more stories like this I may hit the dynasty page and start the one shot thread myself <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />.</p>

I planned on doing this with my '91 game before my computer got fried. I hit the one year mark in game and thought it would keep me interested if I went back and typed up a report for my SuperCards and PPVs. I still like the idea and I think I am going to do it for my next game whenever MA comes out. Just do the PPV card and a little background information on how we go there.

I thought about doing one diary of all the backstage shenanigans that happen backstage at every show, and how my user character deals with it. From people getting into fights, people showing up with drugs and being sent home because he is unable to perform; One guy trying to get the whole locker room to hate another guy, etc..

I think it's a feedback thing for me....If I feel I'm not getting feedback then the project starts to fall by the wayside for me. My last project I done was so time consuming that if I wasn't getting any feedback it was making me explode on the inside.

<p>I love doing dynasties, but my shows take too long to write up, I remember spending like 3 nights worth of game time writing up one show, I got from the beginning of January to the royal rumble and never wrote it up, </p><p> </p><p>

I then tried doing a dirt sheet version of a long game id played but it didn't work (I was warned not to do use that particular mod though as dynasties had been overdone)</p><p> </p><p>

I then attempted to do a joint one, with the other guy writing it up, I think we wrote one show, planned a whole month and I never heard from him again.</p><p> </p><p>

I think that's telling me something about my dynasty career lol</p>

For me it's more of a karma thing...I'm always getting screwed by shit that happens with my Notebook/Laptop/Whatever or even outside of that. I don't know if it's because I still don't live alone, or because I'm always busy, or because unicorns. These snafus make me lose a lot of progress, and my interest is also lost as a result of that, because my full dedication was given to what I lost, so I never bring closure to the stories that I give a lot of thought for. It baffles me how I'm pretty much the only one that is affected by stuff like this. I guess that I wasn't born to be loved as a big time writer. I just look at the beloved GDS members and I'm jealous. Not because of their fame, but because they have never went through such idiocy as I have. Thank God I never thought of writing as a full time gig...I'm more into acting, and so far, nothing bad has happened to set me back on that. Plus, it's a totally different animal, as a potential snafu can't cause my total lack of interest.
