I don't envy you in doing that. Especially trying to figure out how their stats would look scaled back to when the debuted.

 

I am looking forward to this mod as I have always loved playing the 1977 mod.

 

I'm guessing pretty hard with the stats, honestly. The only worker I feel doesn't look like a rookie at debut is The Hype, but he's meant to look pretty awesome. And he still got rolled back a bit.

 

 

 

But hey, USA is (almost) done! Then on to importing... Mexico? Might as well get Mexico out of the way.

That, any any other future workers Derek may have sneaked into the 1997 mod. I found a couple, no clue if there's more.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

THEN I can start cleaning those guys up (body sizes/types, make sure they're "proper" for debut, give em' home locations where appropriate, check default gimmicks, ect), import some relationships that belong, tag teams... all that. And honestly, that's the last BIG project left. A lot of little stuff to do, too, like tweaking gimmicks to mostly match up with the default data like I want, give FAG it's overhaul, and probably try to balance out the production setting for companies.</p><p> </p><p>

Still, I'm feeling pretty good about progress so far.</p>

Hey, I'm a happy camper! I was just thinking of importing the mod up through the generations to mess around with it, maybe even tinker a bit. Now I can just be lazy and let Comradebot do that for me <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. But seriously, major dabs to you Comrade, you were always a big supporter of the mod and I'm pleased to leave it in your capable hands!

And a note on F.A.G., that was a PeterHilton creation so I'm of the mindset that it would really be more of his call on changing anything. I kind of think the promotion needed to be a direct replication to be a worthwhile reference, but I do agree that's kind of a lot of bandwidth for a single reference and the promotion could work just fine with slight cosmetic changes.

Importing is done. The database currently stands at 3443 workers total, though that total is likely to change as I already have a plans to add in a handful more future workers to debut in the 80s, and I'm bound to find out I have a duplicate or two, or I outright missed someone somehow.

<p>Most fun I've ever had with a TEW game was with the '77 mod. "God Bless Texas" was a blast and I can't wait to give this a try once it drops. Thanks, Comradebot, for taking this on and certainly let me know if there is anything I can help with!</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks, paul.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> So got a lot of the "little stuff" done while I was procrastinating the "final sweep"... figureheads, gimmicks, imported alter egos from 16 and 97 where it seemed like a nice addition, bunch of other minor crap that needed to be done.</p><p> </p><p> But now I'm knee-deep in cleaning up the workers as fully as possible. Body sizes/types, making sure default gimmicks are assigned (especially since that's actually important now), making sure random workers aren't debuting with D overness (lookin' at you, Big Daddy Horne)... and my personal favorite? Re-writing biographies! A LOT of workers in the old data, future workers in particular, were pretty lacking in that department. Lot of guys with just one or two sentence blurbs that amount to "Their name is X and they are rookies". And I have to say, fleshing that out, creating some backgrounds for some folks... it's really fun. In addition, I'm also whipping up a few more alter egos where it's either appropriate. Or fun. I mean, I didn't <em>have</em> to give Karl Jackson eight alter egos (so far), each more terrible than the last... but I did.</p><p> </p><p> It's also a lengthy process, but in good part only because I'm taking my time to have some fun with it. Still, it's moving along. After this there's only a few things left. Gonna clean up potential owners/bookers since so much has changed there since 2010 (and is a step that just sprung to my head the other day... which seems to happen frequently), clean up tag team, relationship, and broadcaster files (which should all pretty quick easy in the greater scheme), still need to add those workers I want... guess there's the FAG thing to handle if I can. Few little other bits, and probably some huge task that I haven't even thought of yet.</p>

<p>It wasn't cannon, but there was one worker that was in Boltinho's C-VerseXL mod for TEW13 that I wanted to make sure the basis for was in the '77 version.</p><p> </p><p>

In the XL mod, he had Psycho the Bear (literal bear in C-Verse). His character was not cannon but the character image had come from a 70's mod for one of the previous TEWs. Don't know what the bear's name in the previous 70's mod was, I just know he/she/it was in there. ((PLUS, it keeps with real wrestling, since the old companies DID still use bears in the 70's, and even into the early 80's in some places.))</p>

I really enjoyed playing with Championship Wrestling from Boston in CVerse 75 or 77, can't remember which one. Obviously most of the roster was horrible and probably would have resulted in a huge list of botches in TEW2016 <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Even still I'm very excited</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The existing "canon" suggested that pro wrestling really didn't take off in Australia until the start of the 2000s, but part of that was because Australia wasn't "unlocked" until later TEW games. </p><p> </p><p> If Australian promotions were put in, it'd take a lot of work because there's no characters already created for that area, they'd all have to be made from scratch.</p>

As The Celt mentioned, in C-Verse cannon there's very, very little going on in Australia until recentish times, unfortunately. If I find the time I might see if I can't squeeze in a few workers down there, maybe add a couple of official graduates of Walleye Conklin's dojo on the continent. Going "But there was ACTUALLY a 'major' company down there a long time ago, it just wasn't ever mentioned before!" just isn't something I'm particularly comfortable with.</p>

I've never had a real game with any of the old versions but I'm looking forward to giving this a real go this time around. Someone needs to teach that Eisen kid he's not all that...

 

Just one small wish, if I may: Please don't put **** characters in the German promotion again. It's not that the character itself offends me, but having it in a German promotion is so utterly unrealistic that it completely destroys the credibility and plausibility of the gameworld for me. You can put **** characters literally everywhere else in the world in the 70s but in Germany it would have been unthinkable (not to mention illegal) to have anything resembling a **** character in a wrestling show.

Since the promotion is supposed to have it's headquarters in West Berlin, what would make much more sense would be Soviet or Eastern German (DDR aka German Democratic Republic) main villains.

 

EDIT: Yay, censorship works. In case it's not clear, I was making mention of "a certain faction of Germany's past" (that's how it was worded in the old versions of the mod, wasn't it? At least something similar ;))
