January 1999: A New History (Hype)

This is a mod based off of The Mod Squads Montreal Aftermath. This will be following a couple things that unfold after Starrcade 97. I'm still waiting for the thumbs up from Genadi but I will go ahead and through out a hype thread.

 

January 1999: A New History

 

WCW

 

December 1997- everything happens as planned Starrcade is the same as in reality.

 

January 1998- Breaking news out of WCW says that Hogan has handed in his notice to WCW officals having until the end of the month with WCW. Hogan is said to have been upset over losing his belt at Starrcade. Other new see's Turner start up Turner Sports a new TV network which could be the host of some future WCW live events. Nitro will still be Live on TNT. We are seeing a

 

End of January 1998- With Hogan on his last days the surging rookie Goldberg beat him on Nitro setting up the Team WCW Vs Team NWO match at WCW/NWO Sold Out. If NWO wins they get full control over WCW, if team WCW wins NWO will be disbanded.

 

WCW/NWO Sold Out and the Aftermath: NWO (Nash, Hall, Hogan, and Scott Steiner) Vs WCW(Goldberg, Sting, DDP, and The Giant)

 

The match ends with Goldberg eliminating Hogan to a massive pop for Goldberg. Hogan gets to the back and is pissed. He tells Bischoff that he will never work with him again and this is the end of any kind of future work relashionship. Nash and Hall also hand in their notices and walk out of WCW.

 

February 98: With the recent walk outs WCW has started to focus on the younger talent a bit more, but the main feud has been Sting Vs Bret Hart. Goldberg has continued his rise to super stardom and is undefated in his short career so far, he is quickly becoming one of the top stars in WCW. We are also seeing the rise of Chris Jericho who at this point is the WCW Cruiserweight Champion, turning out great matches with Mysterio, Malenko, Beniot, and others.

 

May 98: Things have been great in WCW since the departure of the NWO. WCW has seen the in ring quality of their show blossom and the new direction has been great. Goldberg has been training on the side with Ric Flair and Chris Beniot to improve his in ring game and has improved leaps and bounds in his rookie year. Sting is still the WCW champion and his feud with Bret Hart has turned out two match of the year worthy matches. Goldberg is as over as anyone in pro wrestling right now and is starting to gain mainstream attention. The Main Event for the next PPV will be Bret Hart Vs Goldberg Vs Sting.

 

June 98: Goldberg wins the title in a triple threat that most are saying is the best match that they have ever seen. Sting and Hart have no issue dropping the belt to Goldberg, because it is clear he is the best man to carry the company even farther into the mainstream and beat out the WWF.

 

August 98: Big news is breaking that Ken Shamrock will be jumping ship to WCW, he has been getting over in WWF and is thought of as maybe the most underused talent that the WWF has used. Early reports are that WCW want to build him up and have a huge feud with Goldberg.

 

Starrcade 98: The Main Event for Starrcade 98 is the still undefeated champion Goldberg Vs Ken Shamrock which ended with Goldberg taking a shocking loss, as Shamrock choked him out, to the displeasure of the WCW crowd. Shamrock is the most hated man in wrestling right now but he is also your WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

After talking with Genadi last night I've decided to put this on the back burners until all of their stuff is out, which is what I feel is right to do. I would like to thank Genadi who was going to let me put it out any way.
