Anderson & Blanchard vs. The Steiner Brothers

Comments: This is a tough one as I would like to give Arn the win after he dropped one to Owen while Tully could use a big debut win too but on the same time, with Flair winning last week´s main event and likely going to win this week as well, I feel that faces need a win against Horsemen somewhere and that would be here then... at the end, I think faces need the win for storyline purposes more than Arn and Tully to so I go with Steiners.

Comments: Standard first title defence here.

15 Minute Time Limit Match

Barry Windham vs. Bob Backlund

Comments: Another tough one. Barry could use a big win to prove he´s more than a Horsemen fall guy (which is still pretty good place to be but I just don´t see guy who loses all the time being able to stay in Horsemen for long) but Bob is the one who seems to have storyline going on plus win against Barry would help him as well... I go with Barry this time, my reasoning being that Dangerous Alliance could easily meke another appearance here to further send a message that you don´t mess with them.

Steiner Brothers - Much like Zergon said, the faces could really use a victory.

Owen Hart - Pretty solid first defense for the new champ.

Barry Windham - Barry just needs a major win, to be sure. I could see him leaving the Horsemen at some point, and to do that he really should be built up at some level in order to try taking them down.

RNR Express - Rock 'n roll will never die!

Ric Flair - Brian will certainly take Ric to the limit, but come up just short.

Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and Magnum T.A. welcome everyone to the show and Schiavone says that we might have the biggest main event in Saturday night history when we see Ric Flair go one on one with the high flyer in Brian Pillman. As the announcers are talking, 'Simply Ravishing' begins to play in the background. The number one contender to the World Heavyweight title, Rick Rude, comes out along with his manager Paul E. Dangerously grabs a microphone and says that right now the rednecks and hillbillies within the audience wearing the Sting facepaint get a good look at the man who is going to beat their hero and leave WrestleWar as the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. This man is the best looking man in Denver, Colorado. He is the best looking man in WCW. This man is Ravishing Rick Rude. Dangerously hands the microphone over to Rude and he tells the idiots in the audience to shut their mouths because he is going to take his robe off and show them what a future World Champion is supposed to look like. He tells them to hit his music but instead the music for Sting begins to play! The crowd cheers as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting walks out from the back. He high fives the fans on his way to the ring, stepping in through the ropes and going face-to-face with Rick Rude. Sting has a microphone and says that he wanted to come out here and get a good look at the man who is going to face him this Sunday. He has to say that Rude is a tough competitor. He knows that he's not going to have an easy match this Sunday. But he knows that he can beat him. He says that he knows Rude is confident as well. So he wants to add an extra stipulation to the match. He tells Rude that if Rude loses, then he has to man up on the following WCW Saturday Night. He has to come out here and shake Sting's hand. Dangerously starts to speak but Rude raises his hand. Rude says he has nothing to fear and agrees to the stipulation. He motions to Paul E. to exit the ring and then tells Sting that Sunday night Sue is going to tell him just how Ravishing he looks with the belt. JR cannot believe Rude went there, telling the fans that Sue is the name of Sting's wife! Sting goes right after Rude and the two begin exchanging punches! Sting hits Rude with a dropkick and Rude goes over the top rope, landing on the floor. Wrestlers spill out from the back, separating both of these men. Rick Rude just made this match at WrestleWar personal between these two men. But both of these teams will meet tomorrow at War Games. The match starts with a brawl between the two teams. The Steiners start taking control with Rick catching Arn with a Steinerline. Scott sends Blanchard to the ropes but Blanchard quickly ducks out of the ring, joining his partner. Rick begins jogging around the ring, barking before dropping on all fours. Scott stands over his brother, staring at the two Horsemen members. The action returns inside the ring and it is your standard back and forth tag team match. The Steiners control the opening minutes but Scott is soon stuck in the wrong corner, leading to the Horsemen taking control. Anderson & Blanchard use several double team moves to keep Scott down, including pulling Rick into the ring and using him to distract the official. While this happened, they struck Scott with a double vertical suplex. Anderson makes a cover but scores only a two count when Rick comes in to break up the pin. Around ten minutes into the fifteen minute time limit match, Scott manages to reverse a piledriver attempt by Anderson, bringing him over in a back body drop. Scott catches Anderson with a Steinerline and both of them crawl toward their corners, tagging in their partners! Rick comes in, striking Blanchard with punches and then a Steinerline! Blanchard rushes to Rick and Rick catches him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! Scott and Anderson enter the ring and Scott catches Anderson with a tilt-a-whirl suplex! With the match moving toward the time limit, Scott calls for the Frankensteiner! Rick heads to the top turnbuckle -- Frankensteiner by Scott on Anderson -- Top Rope Bulldog by Rick on Blanchard! He says that this was simply a business move for this company as they believe that the NWA no longer has anything to offer WCW. Therefore, he would like to wish the NWA the best of luck in their future endeavors. Hart uses his speed and agility, catching Landel with an early enzuigiri for a two count. He heads to the top turnbuckle and leaps with a cross body but Landel uses the momentum to get on top, scoring a two count on Hart, almost winning the World Television title. Landel gains quick control and focuses on the right leg of Hart. He goes for a Figure Four but Hart manages to kick him off to the mat. Landel pops up and Hart kips up to his feet. Hart ducks a clothesline from Landel and catches The Nature Boy with a Northern Lights suplex, scoring a two count. Hart gets the crowd solidly behind him. He catches Landel with a spinning wheel kick and then heads for the top turnbuckle. He measures Landel -- Diving Headbutt off the top turnbuckle! Hart motions for the crowd to get louder and they respond as he heads to the top turnbuckle again. He waits for Landel to reach his feet -- Missile Dropkick! As the camera zooms in on the punching bags, there are pictures of Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey. Luger picks the Vicious bag, while Koloff is at the Spivey bag. The two men begin throwing punches, directly hitting the pictures of the Skyscrapers. Koloff stops after a moment and then turns to Luger, reminding him that he will be receiving a shot at the title sooner rather than later. Backlund offers a handshake to start the match and Windham takes it, kicking Backlund in the gut and then striking with a quick knee lift. Windham takes control, keeping Backlund down on the mat and using some power against the former number one contender. Windham catches Backlund with a kneeling gutwrench power bomb for a two count. Windham adjusts the glove on his right hand and continues going to work on Backlund, dominating the match, much to the surprise of the fans here in Denver. The fans try to rally Backlund as Windham goes for a belly-to-back suplex -- Backlund blocks and uses a back heel trip to bring Windham to the mat. Backlund takes control, working over the back and shoulders of the Horseman. Around the seven minute mark, the match begins going back and forth between the two men with neither man securing a good advantage. Backlund gets the crowd in his corner as he goes for the Crossface Chicken Wing but Windham catches him with a back elbow and Backlund stumbles into the referee. The referee doesn't fall over but is staggered, leaning against the ropes with his back to the ring. Windham pulls out a chain and slips it inside the glove on his right hand. The action is back and forth in the early going with an early segment featuring the rowboat with Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson doing sitting leg pulls on Ron Simmons and Butch Reed at the same time. Reed gets stuck in the corner of the Rock 'N' Roll Express and the crowd cheers as Morton and Gibson use quick and frequent tags in and out. Gibson catches Reed with a drop toehold and Morton drops an elbow. Morton covers and scores a two count. Morton bounces off the ropes but gets tripped by Teddy Long. Reed tags out to Ron Simmons and the former FSU All-American takes control over Ricky Morton. Simmons shows his power early on when he brings Morton down with a double power bomb. He holds Morton's shoulders down but only scores a two count when Morton somehow manages to kick out. Simmons yanks up Morton and Irish whips him hard into a corner. He tries to follow in but Morton manages to move and Simmons strikes the corner hard. Morton begins crawling toward his corner. He crawls between the legs of Simmons and then leaps and tags in Robert Gibson. Simmons tags in Butch Reed and Gibson rushes in, catching Reed with an enzuigiri! Michael Hayes vs. Kevin Von Erich

Comments: Kevin isn't the best Von Erich, is he?

Hey KYE! Thanks for your comments and predictions. As far as Kevin being the best Von Erich? No, he's not. However, he's the best Von Erich that I could grab at the moment. :)

Comments On Diary In General: Loving whats going on between Oz and Sullivan.

Hey The_CoC! Thanks for your predictions and comments! I'm glad you're enjoying the Oz and Kevin Sullivan segments. You can definitely thank Beejus for that as his prize for winning the last prediction contest was choosing the gimmick for Kevin Nash.

Vader - I have yet to really see someone in 91 give Gigante a push, and that you have him set up against Vader makes me figure that it won't be here either :p

Skyscrapers - Just so I can see Sid as US contender yelling at women for dates.

Hey Beejus! Thanks for your predictions and comments! I haven't seen anyone give Gigante a big push either. That being said, I do have future plans for both him and Vader. Whether that determines who wins this contest? You can only watch and see!

Glad that you're enjoying the whole Sid Vicious/dating storyline. There is definitely more to come between him and Alexandra York, his latest date.

Comments On Diary In General:Like the storyline with Sullivan and Oz (Nash) As usual over all great stuff.

Hey horseman4lyfe! Thanks for your predictions and comments! I am glad that the Sullivan and Oz storyline has gotten over moreso than the real Oz storyline did! LOL. I'm glad you're enjoying the shows and I hope I can keep up the good shows in the future.

Vader is not a man that looks to back down from a fight, though. He is the first to start throwing punches to El Gigante! Gigante fires back but Vader stands tall, knocking Gigante back into a corner. Vader begins clubbing Gigante about the head and neck with forearm shots as Gigante tries to cover himself up. Vader pulls Gigante from the corner and shows his power by lifting the giant up and bringing him down in a vertical suplex to the mat. Vader facewashes Gigante before bouncing off the ropes and landing on top of Gigante with a splash. Vader makes a cover: One, Two, Kickout! The crowd cheers as Gigante kicks out of the splash! Gigante gets to his feet and manages to land in a few blows on Vader but the match is almost completely dominated by the Mastadon. Vader catches Gigante with a short-arm clothesline and then drags him over to the corner. Vader climbs to the second turnbuckle -- Vader Bomb! The Vader Bomb absolutely crushes El Gigante! Vader covers, hooking the leg: One, Two, Three! The WCW United States Tag Team Champions, The York Foundation, take on Dustin Rhodes and Wahoo McDaniel. This is McDaniel's first appearance in WCW since the mid-1980's. Michael Wallstreet uses his amateur wrestling background early on in the contest to keep both Dustin Rhodes and McDaniel on their toes. Wallstreet brings Rhodes into the corner of The York Foundation and they keep Rhodes stuck in that corner, using him as the face-in-peril during the contest. Wallstreet and Terrence Taylor use some quick tags in and out, keeping Rhodes away from tagging in the veteran partner. Taylor catches Rhodes with a drop toehold and Wallstreet drops an elbow to the back of the head. Wallstreet picks up Rhodes and locks in an abdominal stretch. He uses the ropes for leverage as Rhodes shakes his head, refusing to submit. After several close calls, the referee finally catches Wallstreet using the ropes and begins a count, forcing him to break. Before Wallstreet can break, Rhodes brings him over with a hip toss. Rhodes hits a dropkick and both men begin crawling toward their corner. Rhodes tags in McDaniel and Wallstreet tags in Taylor. McDaniel immediately goes into a war dance, striking Taylor with chops! McDaniel hits Wallstreet with an overhead chop, knocking him off the apron. Dustin Rhodes slides in and they send Taylor to the ropes -- double clothesline and then a double elbow drop! Michael Wallstreet reaches in, grabbing Taylor and pulling him out of the ring. Alexandra York grabs the title belts and The York Foundation backs up the aisle, taking the intentional count out loss. This has been a long-running feud that has seen a lot of twists and turns over the years. This night is no exception as the match is purely back and forth with neither man holding a long, distinct advantage. The match begins in the ring but quickly spills outside the ring where Hayes gains the advantage by ramming Von Erich's back into the ring apron. Hayes returns Von Erich back in the ring and then joins him inside. He drops Von Erich with a bulldog, scoring a two count. Hayes gives a Freebird strut in the ring before returning his attention to Von Erich. Hayes picks up Von Erich and sends him to the ropes -- Sleeper! Hayes locks the sleeper in tight around the chin and forehead of Von Erich, driving him down to the mat as Von Erich struggles. But the more Von Erich struggles, the more energy he is using. The referee checks with Von Erich and he doesn't seem to be able to respond. The referee checks the arm of Von Erich and the arm stays up! The crowd cheers as Von Erich works his way up to his feet. He drives three straight elbows into the ribs of Hayes and then strikes with a forearm smash. Von Erich catches Hayes with a standing dropkick and the Freebird leader rushes out of the ring. The match begins with all four men doing battle inside the ring. The sides are paired up with Larry Zbyszko exchanging shots with Bob Backlund and Bobby Eaton exchanging punches with Owen Hart. Hart ducks a punch and comes back with a dropkick, sending Eaton down to the mat. Eaton moves to get back up and he gets caught with another dropkick. Backlund brings Zbyszko down with a double leg takedown. Zbyszko rolls over and then rolls out of the ring, letting the match truly begin with Owen Hart and Bobby Eaton. These four men work hard to steal the show in this contest, showing off some flashy and high risk moves on both sides. The experience on the side of the Dangerous Alliance comes into play during this match when they trap Owen Hart in their corner. Zbyszko taunts Backlund, angering Backlund enough that he steps into the ring. The referee steps over, escorting Backlund away to his corner. During this time, Bobby Eaton chokes Owen Hart in the corner as Zbyszko kicks Hart in the gut over and over again. The Dangerous Alliance maintain control until around the nine minute mark when Hart blocks a Zbyszko Piledriver attempt. Hart manages to roll over to his corner and he tags in Bob Backlund as Zbyszko tags in Bobby Eaton. Backlund brings down Eaton with a single leg takedown. He catches Eaton with a body slam and then a few forearm smashes. The momentum, however, turns when Paul E. Dangerously distracts Backlund. This leads to Eaton striking Backlund with a knee to the back and then a swinging neckbreaker. Eaton heads for the top turnbuckle -- Alabama Jam! Eaton makes a cover: One, Two, Three! This pay-per-view event will be nicknamed Crossroads because it will be the debut of the brand new Crossroads match here in WCW. The Crossroads match will feature four wrestlers or tag teams in one single match. In the case of four singles wrestlers all four men will be in the ring at one time. The first person to score a pinfall or submission will be the victor in the match. In the case of four tag teams, there will be two wrestlers in the ring and anyone can be tagged in at any time. The first pinfall or submission scores a victory for that team. At SuperBrawl, these Crossroads matches will be used for all title matches. Bischoff adds that the World Heavyweight title match will also have an added stipulation that he calls Ultimate Sacrifice. More information on that match type will be brought forward in future weeks as we draw closer to SuperBrawl. The other two announcements that he wishes to make here at WrestleWar is that WCW will have two added divisions. Those two divisions will be known as the Cruiserweight division for our smaller male wrestlers and the Women's division as WCW signs the best in female athletes. Pillman pulls up Windham and backs him into a turnbuckle. He climbs up and begins firing punches on Windham as the crowd counts along. He gets to seven before Windham grabs Pillman around the legs. Windham takes two steps forward before dropping backward, bringing Pillman head-first onto the top turnbuckle. Windham pops up and moves in behind Pillman. He brings Pillman to the mat with a rear waistlock takedown. On the mat, Windham strikes Pillman with several forearm smashes to the back of the head. Windham stands up and grabs Pillman by the hair. He runs Pillman toward the cage and throws him, sending Pillman face-first into the cage! Pillman strikes hard and then staggers backward, being brought to the mat with a lariat by Windham. The match moves forward with Windham in control as the five minute opening period comes to an end. Arn Anderson comes running down to the ring to begin the second period! Anderson enters the cage and Windham throws Pillman to the near cage where Anderson is standing. Anderson lifts Pillman and sends him to the ropes, lowering his head -- Pillman flips over Anderson and bounces off the ropes coming back with a headscissors takedown! Pillman gets the crowd excited, turning his attention toward a resting Barry Windham. Pillman bounces off the ropes and then springboards off the top rope -- Air Pillman from one ring to the next! The Air Pillman brings Windham to the mat! Pillman stands up and bounces off the ropes again, another springboard and he goes for Air Pillman on Arn Anderson but Anderson catches Pillman and brings him down with a spinning Spinebuster in the first ring. Windham joins Anderson and Pillman in the first ring and a double-team begins by Windham and Anderson. They set up Pillman for a Spiked Piledriver but the second period comes to an end! Rick Steiner comes running in from the back to begin the third period!]

[The third period begins with the entrance of Rick Steiner! Rick catches Arn Anderson with a Steiner-Line from behind! Barry Windham, who was up on the second turnbuckle, leaps for Rick and Rick catches Windham around the waist -- Overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex! Rick begins jogging around the ring, barking. The crowd responds by barking alongside the Dog-Faced Gremlin! Rick helps Brian Pillman to his feet and the four men split off with Rick Steiner splitting off with Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman splitting off with Barry Windham. The four men go back and forth in ring 1 before the buzzer sounds to, again, give the Horsemen a man advantage. Tully Blanchard comes running in from the back! The crowd boos as Blanchard enters the ring and goes after Rick Steiner. Blanchard rakes the eyes of Rick Steiner to get him to back off Arn Anderson. Anderson and Blanchard grab Rick Steiner and bring him over in a double vertical suplex. Brian Pillman catches Barry Windham with a standing dropkick before he gets grabbed by both Anderson and Blanchard! Anderson and Blanchard begin running Pillman into three sides of the steel cage! Pillman's head has begun bleeding as he staggers down onto the mat. Anderson and Blanchard check on Barry Windham before Anderson grabs Pillman. He sets up Pillman in Piledriver position as Tully Blanchard moves to the second turnbuckle -- Spiked Piledriver! The Spiked Piledriver connects on Pillman, leaving him laying out in the center of the ring. They turn their attention to Rick Steiner when the buzzer sounds, ending the period. Scott Steiner comes running in from the back to begin the fifth period!]

[The crowd cheers the appearance of Scott Steiner! Scott moves in and protects his brother, bringing down both Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard with Steiner-Lines! Scott grabs Barry Windham and begins running him into the steel cages! Windham collides with three sides of the cage before being unceremoniously tossed into ring 2. Scott turns around and catches Anderson with a kick to the gut. He hooks a double underhook and then lifts Anderson with a double underhook power bomb, showing some of his strength. Scott checks on his brother and then checks on the bleeding Brian Pillman. The distraction allows Tully Blanchard to sneak up on Scott Steiner. Blanchard catches Scott with a big boot before dropping an elbow. Blanchard lifts Scott Steiner and catches him with a slingshot suplex. Blanchard calls out for Windham and then grabs Brian Pillman, tossing Pillman into the second ring. This leaves Windham and Pillman the ability to fight one on one in ring two. In ring one, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard are with The Steiner Brothers. This period ends and there's only one person left for Team Horsemen. Ric Flair comes jogging out from the back, moving inside the ring! Flair grabs Rick Steiner and backs him into a corner. He begins laying into Rick with knife-edge chop after knife-edge chop. Flair picks up Scott Steiner and backs him into his brother in the corner, laying into Scott with some knife-edge chops! The team captain, Ric Flair, motions to Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Blanchard grabs Anderson and Irish whips him toward The Steiner Brothers and Anderson hits them both with a corner clothesline. In ring two, Barry Windham begins biting Brian Pillman on the forehead, breaking open that cut even more! Scott Steiner is tossed into that ring, leaving Rick Steiner alone with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard in ring one. Flair wraps the Figure Four Leglock on Rick Steiner! The match cannot end until Ricky Steamboat gets in the ring but this just might break the leg of Rick Steiner! Arn Anderson stomps on the leg of Rick Steiner, joining forces with Ric Flair to give more punishment to Rick Steiner. Tully Blanchard moves to ring two, helping Barry Windham with Scott Steiner and Brian Pillman. The fight continues until the final buzzer sounds and we have our final participant! Ricky Steamboat comes running down to the ring!]

[The Match Beyond begins inside the War Games steel cages. The only way to win is by submission or surrender. Ricky Steamboat enters the ring and takes down Arn Anderson with a chop. Steamboat stomps on Ric Flair, breaking the Figure Four. Steamboat pulls up Flair and Irish whips him toward a corner. Flair flips upward and then back down, staggering around before landing on his face. In ring one, we have Ricky Steamboat and Rick Steiner versus Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. In ring two, we have Scott Steiner and Brian Pillman versus Barry Windham and Tully Blanchard. So far, we have Brian Pillman and Barry Windham both busted open from striking the cage. Pillman starts to get an advantage on Windham. Pillman hits Windham with a spinning heel kick and then he drops an elbow to the heart of Windham. Pillman goes for a crossface on Windham but Windham struggles free. Pillman and Windham strike each other with a double clothesline, leaving them both down on the mat. Scott Steiner takes control over Tully Blanchard. Scott sends Blanchard to the ropes -- Frankensteiner! Scott hits the Frankensteiner here in War Games! Scott gets the crowd fired up before grabbing the fallen Barry Windham. He pulls up Windham in a vertical suplex position but then hits the Steiner Screw Driver! That is Scott Steiner's version of a vertical suplex piledriver! In ring one, Ric Flair rakes Ricky Steamboat's face across the steel mesh of the cage. Steamboat's face is busted open and Flair seems like he likes the sight of that. Flair picks up Steamboat and then drops him with the shinbreaker. Rick Steiner moves over and catches Ric Flair with a Steiner-Line! Rick helps Steamboat to his feet and things continue in both rings. The match reaches a fever pitch when Steamboat's Squadron takes control in both rings. Ricky Steamboat catches Tully Blanchard with a clothesline and then locks him in the elevated double chicken wing! Blanchard struggles, shaking his head. Arn Anderson tries to come over and save Blanchard but he gets taken down by a Scott Steiner Steiner-Line! Blanchard is forced to submit!
