K-Nection
Thinking of doing a Youtube podcast on based on RAW, Smackdown and PPV reviews. If I do this project how long do you think I should make these reviews for?
R0x4ry
Long as Primal Scream`s Velocity Girl.
R0x4ry
But seriously, long as you want to do it man, there is a market for quick fire reviews and indepth reviews that last 30 minutes. Its like asking people want music you should be making, just make it how you want to be made.
K-Nection
Long as Primal Scream`s Velocity Girl. 1:25 huh....Seems a bit short to review a 3 hour show....yea I was actually going to watch the full episodes of RAW and not just the Hulu version and run down segment by segment. I was thinking around the 10 minute ball park but I don't think it would be a bad idea to release two versions. One that's edited and straight to the point (1:25) and the other that fluffs it out (10 minutes). I actually had to look up what you were talking about because I never heard of Primal Scream....thanks R0x4ry! Edit: I'll drop a link on this thread and any comments on how to improve can either be left here on in the comment sections of the videos.
Dawn
I'd watch that/listen to that. I would be interested in taking part of it as a guest as well.
jwt13
I don't watch a lot of reviews but I'd say anywhere from 6-10 minutes is a reasonable time.
moon_lit_tears
<p>I've seen them go from 3 minutes to an hour or so..I think an hour is too long and 3 minutes is too short.</p><p> </p><p> I'd say </p><p> Raw about 20 mins</p><p> Snackdown 15 mins</p><p> PPvs 30-45 mins? Jsut because there is more to talk about with things leading up to matches and such. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> That's just my opinion though. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

K-Nection
<p>The first episode is up enjoy!.....It ended up being a shade under 20 mins. I honestly don't see how it can be too much shorter. I'm also working with a new video editing program and there was some obvious growing pains learning it. I'm pretty sure I will have everything figured out by the next episode.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/kkl_TmynqUI?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="RAW K Nection 7-18-2016"></iframe></div></div>

KnowYourEnemy
<p>I think so far it's really good. The major things -- entertainment and format-- are really good. I think there are probably two things format-wise to attract an audience. </p><p> <strong>1</strong>. Bring in some collaborators. It's sort of a "common formula" in the genre. I'd personally bring on some of your old independent scene colleagues every couple weeks -- that would be the easiest way to generate some views. It doesn't have to be every week and it doesn't [and probably shouldn't] be the same person. </p><p> Second -- Eventually, you want to stream live. You can still use notes, but live streaming/hosting (on either Youtube or say, Spreaker) will draw many more people now and you can still release the live streams. It's a slow build and it's going to take time to get there. </p><p> </p><p> I'd actually still make, say, 2k16 videos alongside this on your channel -- doing more things can grow your audience. I've seem some of your CAW/2k16 work -- why not "re-enact" your independent battles live? I'd watch. </p><p> </p><p> You probably want to get a small audience of your own (100-200 views) and upgrade your equipment before you try to advertise the show. I don't know a whole lot, but I'll list some options here -- make sure you've got a solid base before investing in something like this.</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://www.patreon.com/wrestlingsoup" rel="external nofollow">Wrestling Soup is probably the most watched podcast out there right now and you can "buy" exposure through Patreon</a>. Occasionally, they'll let contributors or viewers on the show, either part of a premium stream or as a caller. </p><p> They aren't doing the sh!tbox right now, so don't call in -- I wouldn't do it until a few months after they resume. </p><p> Solomonster Sounds Off is probably a close two. Jason Solomon's <a href="http://solomonster.podbean.com" rel="external nofollow">Solomonster Sounds Off</a> does shout-outs contributors. I don't know how much he charges, but it is pretty reasonable. </p><p> There are [eventually] some perks to it. Even at the highest level, it isn't really a "full-time" job but it can pay off as a "part-time" hobby. WWE Talent do listen to the "bigger" podcasts -- both Wrestling Soup (Joey Numbaz and Anthony "Mish" Thomas) and Solomonster Sounds Off (Jason Solomon) have interviewed or interacted wrestlers, celebrities and individuals associated with WWE/F talent. </p><p> Solomon has run his podcast for 10 years, with Wrestling Soup around at least five. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/thesolomonster" rel="external nofollow"> He's received considerable perks to run his show, and I'm guessing it has improved his quality of life. </a> I think his Facebook Page and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSolomonster" rel="external nofollow">Youtube Channel</a> can be used to show both what is eventually possible and how to grow your audience.</p>
The_CoC
<p>Hey send a call to the AWWIR and I'm sure Dan will plug your show for sure. 10,000 listeners on a weekly basis is a good way to get exposure. </p><p> </p><p> Link: <a href="http://allwrestling.com/iwpodcast.aspx" rel="external nofollow">http://allwrestling.com/iwpodcast.aspx</a></p>
K-Nection
Thank you two very much for the support! I'll continue to tweak where necessary and if I actually start to get a return on my....we will call it a hobby for now because it's not considered a career until you are making a return. I never thought I would enjoy doing it as much as I do! I'm told that helps in the early parts because it takes a long time to build a fan base....I may add NXT shows to the schedule but as of right now with my current job I can only juggle 2-3 shows a week and still manage to be a father and a husband. Don't forget to tell your friends!
